Reviews:
Iris7124:haha no worries if you can't always review! we know life gets busy. Glad you liked it :) Cooper is so fun to write because he's so ridiculous lol. Blaine definitely wouldn't be where he is without his little found family! Thank you lol. Haven't gotten to do a sex scene like that yet ;) yes, our boys are being little knuckle heads, but it will all be okay eventually! So glad you enjoyed that chapter too! Cooper is always fun to write because he's so ridiculous. We've had that scene where Blaine comes back planned since the beginning so it was nice to get to it finally!
MarciaChapter2: love any scene with Burt and Cooper! And Blaine slowly getting more and more comfortable with Kit is also our favorite. We hope you enjoy this update!
So, first of all we would like to thank people for giving us your opinions and feedback! We love it! Also, thanks for people sharing our stuff! It's always so nice!
As we shared on Instagram and tumblr, this story is looking like it will have 16 full chapters and an epilogue. If that changes, we will let you all know. We apologize for not knowing sooner, but we have had a lot of personal stuff going on that doesn't always leave time to write. After this story, we might take a break for a few weeks to get caught up, but we are working on a Christmas one shot and have some other things to work on too, so we will start a new story very soon after this one!
One last thing, we have a few one shot ideas for this verse we were thinking of doing, but if there is a particular scene you wanted or something you wish had been said more about, let us know and we will see what we can do. Thank you!
Anyways, we call this the feelings chapter because there's a lot lol. We pick up right where we left off, friends. Enjoy!
Still Sunday night...
"Is that my shirt?"
Kurt had Blaine pressed down on his bed and was kissing every inch of his skin he could get to. At Blaine's question, he stopped and sat up on his legs, breath coming in short huffs as he glanced down at his chest.
"No…"
Blaine propped himself up on his elbows and quirked up an eyebrow at the liar in front of him. "So you, Kurt Hummel, just happen to have a Harley Davidson shirt exactly like mine that I was wearing the other day?"
His face gave away nothing, but Blaine could tell he was fighting a smile. "Maybe I liked yours and wanted my own." He looked down his nose at Blaine.
The biker just shook his head before raising his hips and grinding into Kurt's. He noted smugly how the friction made Kurt's eyes roll back in his head. He couldn't deny it felt amazing for him too, especially since they hadn't been together like this for a few days.
Blaine pulled at the shirt, tugging it up. "As sexy as you look in my clothes, take it off."
Kurt sighed happily and did as requested, exposing his lithe body to him. Blaine wasted no time touching him everywhere he could. They teased each other as they undressed, each article of clothing that came off was a new opportunity to kiss and suck and drag their fingers across. They needed this reconnection desperately, but Blaine new he needed more and soon.
He pulled Kurt down on top of him, both nude and just reacquainted themselves with each other's bodies. He massaged his tongue against Kurt's and pulled his hand down his his ass insistently.
"I want you inside me, sweetheart. I need it." He pleaded against Kurt's lips. It made his heart quicken the way Kurt immediately began to take care of him, no hesitation. With lube smeared on his fingers, Kurt began to finger Blaine open with great care, the whole time kissing Blaine's neck. Blaine reached between them and began to play with Kurt's cock, slowly stroking it and squeezing the head just a little. Kurt gasped into his kisses, but wasn't deterred from what he was doing.
Right before he got to three fingers, Blaine grabbed his wrist.
"I want to feel it. I'm ready."
"No, sweetie. You're not ready."
"Please? I want it a little rough." He tried to lower all his walls so Kurt could see how much he wanted this. "I need this. I need it hard and I need you to hold me down. I… I just need it."
Kurt kissed him sweetly on his lips once and nodded. Soon he had rolled on a condom and was guiding himself carefully into Blaine.
"I've got you," Kurt said as he pressed. Blaine groaned at the pain layered on top of pleasure. Kurt waited even though the desire was evident in the way he gritted his teeth and his eyes greedily consumed Blaine's face and body. "Just relax." He dotted little kisses to Blaine's face, lips, neck, and collar bone. When Blaine assured him it was okay to move, Kurt adjusted Blaine's hips on top of a pillow and then slid his hands up Blaine's arms, pushing them up near his head. Blaine let him have control, only responding to what Kurt was giving him. Their noses brushed and Kurt gave him a tender kiss before his eyes hardened. "I'm in control."
Blaine's throat clicked as he swallowed. "Yes."
"You will do as I say. You will lay there and take it."
Blaine nodded hard, his mouth going dry at Kurt's bossy tone. Kurt squeezed his wrists and his dick twitched. Kurt slowly pulled out until just the tip stayed in, causing Blaine to groan.
Kurt smiled wickedly. "I'm going to fuck you really slow until you're begging me for more, then when you're very close, I'm going to let go of your hands and you're going to keep them right there."
"Kurt—"
"You know where my hand is going to go?" Kurt let go of one of Blaine's wrists and let a finger drag down his arm, past his shoulder, and trace a circle at his throat. "I think right here. Then I'm going to fuck you so hard until you come for me. Sound good?"
Blaine had no idea how he was going to get harder than he already was, but at Kurt's aggressive tone, things were getting painful. He panted as Kurt put the slightest pressure on his neck and pushed back in his ass excruciatingly slow.
"You didn't answer me, Blaine."
"Yes. Yes! To all that."
Kurt smirked and slid back out. "You sure?"
"Yeah, I'm really sure… aggh…" Blaine arched up as Kurt pushed in a little harder, both hands back on his wrists.
Kurt's bravado dropped a little. "You're definitely okay with the… The choking? I'll be super careful. A U not a V right?"
Blaine grinned. He had been doing his homework. "I trust you. Just don't go too hard and it will be fine."
Kurt nodded. "Just tell me to stop and I'll stop."
"I know you will." And he did. He trusted Kurt.
It was like a switch had been flipped as Kurt slammed back into Blaine. He moaned his appreciation and tried to lift his legs higher so he could make Kurt go deeper.
But Kurt was mean.
Instead of speeding up a little, he went slower, tortuously so, teasing him.
"Harder, Kurt," Blaine begged squirming against the hold Kurt had on his wrists. "Faster."
Kurt just continued with his rhythm, an evil little smile on his face. Blaine could hardly stand it so he locked his ankles behind Kurt's back, forcing him deeper. The man finally broke a little, shuddering with ecstasy.
"You know you want to," Blaine tempted him. "I'll feel so good. Come on. Just fucking break my back, sweetheart."
Hissing through his teeth, Kurt's eyes darkened and he let go of Blaine's wrists. He grabbed Blaine's belt they had tossed aside and looped it through the buckle. "Wipe that excitement off of your face," Kurt growled as he tightened it around Blaine's wrists. "I'm not whipping you with it."
Blaine moaned in response, enjoying Kurt's inventive kinky side. He was corrupting him and he loved it. "Fine. I like this too." He twisted his wrists experimentally with a happy grin.
Kurt tossed him another smirk before grabbing his legs and hooking them over his shoulder. "Your hands stay there," Kurt ordered. His tone turned Blaine on more than he cared to admit and then Kurt plunged back in so Blaine had no witty retort. The new angle did lovely things to his prostate as Kurt slammed against it, one hand holding Blaine's hips and the other clutching the mattress next to his head.
Blaine rocked with him, gasping and moaning at every wave of pleasure that overtook him as Kurt fucked him stupid. His eyes were closed as he bit his bottom lip when he felt Kurt's long fingers brush his throat. He opened his eyes to see the man fixated on the spot, probably trying to work up the courage to do as he said he would. Blaine stretched his neck out and caught Kurt's eye.
"Do it, sweetheart." Blaine smiled in encouragement. "Just easy pressure. I promise it's okay."
He looked up with a little hesitation, his fingers wrapping around the base of Blaine's throat loosely.
"I'll come so hard. Do it." He arched his neck up into Kurt's hold.
Kurt tightened his hand around his throat and started moving harder and faster. Blaine's eyes rolled back in his head and he knew he was about to come. Kurt had his arm wrapped around Blaine's thigh as he tilted Blaine's hips up, moving faster and slamming harder against Blaine's ass. Blaine dug his fingers into his palms as Kurt pounded into him and he squeezed his neck, just a little. Seconds later, he came with a shout up his own stomach.
He watched Kurt, sweaty and teeth gritted, tilt his ass up farther as he thrust faster. Blaine clenched his ass around Kurt's dick and his nails dug into Blaine's thighs as he pulsed inside him, spilling into the condom.
Once they cleaned up and freed Blaine's wrists, Kurt fell down beside Blaine as they caught their breath together. Blaine had an arm over his forehead as he lay there on his back, unable to move while Kurt stroked a finger through Blaine's chest hair. He snaked his other arm underneath Kurt's head and pulled his head close so he could kiss his forehead.
They were silent for a few more minutes until Kurt's raspy voice whispered in the low light.
"You came back."
Blaine turned his head so that he could look into crystal blue eyes that searched his own face. Now that they were coming down, Blaine knew he would have to explain himself. He just hoped Kurt would understand.
"I did." He reached over and brushed Kurt's damp bangs back. "I don't know exactly how this is going to work, but I'm willing to try. That's all I want."
"Me too." Kurt grasped the hand that was stroking his hair, kissed the palm, and held it to his cheek. "I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings or didn't explain myself right."
"I want to explain myself." Blaine thumbed the top of Kurt's cheek. He still had his hand over Blaine's. "So listen?"
Kurt agreed and Blaine took a deep breath. His heart pounded. He hoped he could explain this the way he practiced before calling Kurt to his door. He had intended to say all this before sex, but that wasn't completely his fault.
"Okay, first I wanted to apologize for leaving. I took a walk after I left and really looked at myself. I asked myself why I was running away from you. And I was running, Kurt. You were right.
"When we met, at first it was mostly a physical attraction. But I started to like you too. Then I found out what a big deal you were and I just knew you were unobtainable. Sure, I still tried, but somewhere in my brain I knew it was hopeless. You didn't really want me. I knew you would pick Aaron."
He ignored the way Kurt raised an eyebrow at the name and fought a smile. He would probably never say Adam's name right ever. Everyone could die mad.
Blaine continued on as if nothing happened. "But then you chose me and when it really set in… I think that's why I've been so upset. I didn't know how to take it. Because I've never been the one who got picked, I was the one who ran away.
"I ran away from my old school, from my parents, from opportunities, from relationships, and then from you. But I couldn't stay away from you. And Kit. That's what I realized. I'm scared that you'll stop choosing me or that one day you'll wake up and think, 'I don't want him anymore. It was fun, but I'm over it now.'" Tears burned Blaine's eyes as he confessed his insecurities to Kurt. It was hard as hell, but he needed to get this out. If this thing with them failed, it wouldn't be because Blaine hadn't gone all in. He just hoped Kurt would let himself fall.
"So, when you kept asking about what I would do if I got a gig, it hit me how serious this really was and it was happening and then all the what ifs had me panicking a little. So, I'm sorry if I hurt you, but it wasn't intentional. I'm just kind of fucked up." He wiped at his wet face, but his hands were batted away as Kurt cupped his jaw in his hands and swiped the tears away with his thumbs. He had seen him do this to Kit before too. It was tender and gentle and made Blaine feel so cared for, as small of a thing as it was.
"Have you finished?" Kurt's voice was even although his eyes were a little watery.
Blaine nodded, the baseball that had grown in his throat making it difficult for him to speak.
Kurt leaned forward, the sheet making a swishing noise as he kissed him so, so sweetly. He moved his head back, but kept Blaine's head in his hands and held eye contact. "Now you listen to me, Blaine Anderson. First of all, thank you for telling me that. I understand how hard it is for you to open up."
"Thank you."
"However, we need to get some things straight. First of all, running isn't always a bad thing. You had to get away from your parents. That wasn't a good situation for you and I'm glad you got away. Never feel shame for doing what you needed to do to survive, Blaine. Never."
Something felt like it broke in Blaine's chest at the words and it clawed it's way up his throat, choking him. He had never heard it put quite that way before. Sure, he knew it wasn't really his fault with his parents and he knew they were bad people, but he never had framed it in terms of survival before. He had only thought of it as taking the coward's way out. He felt like Cooper was so much braver and stronger because he had bore it until he turned eighteen, but yet Blaine couldn't. But hearing it out that way… well that made so much more sense. It was almost a weight off of his chest. He opened his mouth to tell Kurt so when he was shushed.
"I'm not done. Your parents are truly horrendous and I don't even know a third of it, but you aren't broken. You are a survivor and they couldn't break you. They might have tried, but you are not something to be used or tossed aside. You are a person who has a big heart, who cares about getting a drunk guy home and out of a dangerous situation even if it's inconvenient. And you don't even take him up on his offer for sex afterwards, making him feel really shitty, but I digress."
Blaine choked out a wet laugh at Kurt's recollection. He smiled back at Blaine, pleased he had made him laugh a little.
"I don't know what the future holds. I can't promise you we will always be together, but what I can promise is I will never stop caring for you. Even if we don't work out as a couple, I never want you out of my life. I will choose you, Blaine. I choose you to be in my life, and Kit's, because of who you are. I'm in this, just like you are. We will figure this out one step at a time because I'm learning too. So let's keep choosing one another, let's keep getting closer, and we will just figure it out as we go. Does that sound like something you want to do?"
Blaine nodded and kissed him. He couldn't resist. It was sloppy and too wet due to the crying and not really sexy, but it was honest and sweet and just right for that moment. He had no idea how Kurt could say all the things he needed to hear, but he had and he knew in that moment that even if he got a job halfway across the world, he would never let Kurt Hummel out of his life. He didn't know exactly what that looked like yet, but that much he was certain of.
They kept kissing languidly and eventually their tears dried. Blaine was staring to drift off to sleep when Kurt spoke.
"Blaine."
"Hmm?"
"Are you asleep?"
Blaine inhaled through his nose and blinked sleepily at Kurt. He looked so soft in the dark.
"No. What is it?"
Kurt nibbled at his bottom lip. "I… I'm still…" He huffed and his hands moved under the blanket. "Look, can I ride you? I'm still really fucking horny and all this talking hasn't helped. You can just lay there."
"Jesus, Kurt."
He rolled his eyes playfully at Blaine's surprise and they glazed over a bit as a squelching sound came from under his blanket.
"Are you… Fuck, are you stretching yourself?"
Kurt grinned and winked. "Don't worry. I'll make you nice and hard first. Sound good?"
Suddenly, Blaine felt very awake. He sat up a little and pulled off the covers. His cock was already swelling a little. "Yeah, I'm definitely in. Sure. Yeah. Go for it."
With a breathtakingly beautiful smile, Kurt pressed his lips to Blaine's and then slipped down his body. "Oh, I definitely will."
Before Blaine had his shit rocked for the second time that night, he couldn't help feeling like he had finally won at life. That even if he was stuck singing in the bar for the rest of his life, he would be fine if he could come home to Kurt and Kit every day.
Monday morning
Kurt stretched his arms high above his head and his legs kicked out. He felt better than he had in a long time, even though he was a bit sore. He winced as he twisted his hips, but it was a pleasant sort of soreness. He smiled as he remembered the previous night. He had been so upset, yes, but when Blaine came back and they had made love… Then the talk had been so amazing. Blaine had opened up to him like never before, letting Kurt see how vulnerable he really was. And then after that, they had sex again and it was just as toe curling. Drifting off to sleep in each other's arms was just the icing on the cake.
But now he was cold and considering round three. It was still early so Kit probably wasn't—
Kurt felt for Blaine, but the other side of his bed was empty. He opened his eyes, rubbing away the blurriness and glanced around the room. Where was he? The shower wasn't running. A muffled clatter came from the kitchen.
Curiously, Kurt got up and made a quick trip to the bathroom before pulling on his sleep pants Blaine had tossed across the room and his robe.
He found him in the kitchen, wearing some of his sleep pants and a really old Hummel Tires and Lube t-shirt. He was standing at the stove and poking at something that looked like purple pancakes in a frying pan.
Kit was in his chair, eating ripped up pieces of a pancake with his hands and making quite a mess as usual.
Something on the stove hissed and Blaine cursed under his breath as he grabbed for the small fire extinguisher Kurt kept under his sink.
Kurt giggled which drew the child's attention and he grinned widely.
"Dada! Yum!"
"I see that." He grinned at the way Blaine whirled around, fire extinguisher still in hand. He smiled back, his expression a little love struck.
"I'm making lemon blueberry pancakes. Want some?" He rubbed the back of his neck.
"Sure. Without the sodium bicarbonate please."
Blaine looked down at the extinguisher in his hand sheepishly. "Uh, right. Safety first?" He laughed softly.
Kurt went to him and kissed him good morning, Blaine sinking into it happily. Kit screeched about something as they broke away from each other and shared a smile.
"You don't have to cook me breakfast and take care of Kit," Kurt said as he sat down next to Kit and wiped his face off.
"I wanted to." Blaine placed a stack of misshapen pancakes down in front of Kurt proudly. They actually looked decent, if a little unattractive. He smacked a kiss to Kurt's cheek and sat opposite him. The taste wasn't bad either, so Kurt made sure he was making lots of yummy noises.
The rest of the morning passed with Kurt trying to get ready and Blaine trying to keep cuddling him or pulling him into his lap for another kiss. Then just one more, but it turned into three and eight and then Kurt was running late.
To her credit, Marley didn't say a word when she arrived, only winked and scooped up Kit when he ran to her.
Kurt refused to feel embarrassed about Blaine; they had worked too hard to get to this point. Blaine had dressed in his own clothes again and was about to leave before Kurt to go to the studio to work when Kurt grabbed him and kissed the shit out of him. Blaine didn't seem to mind one bit.
"I'll call you tonight," Kurt said as he released a dazed looking Blaine.
"I'll call you at lunch," Blaine countered, leaning against the door.
Kurt sighed. "Okay. Bye."
Blaine didn't move. He just stared at Kurt. "Bye."
Kurt didn't move. "You're going to be late for work." He giggled.
Blaine opened the door and stepped out. "So are you."
Kurt took the few steps forward and grabbed his shirt. He kissed him ferociously once, then released him. "Bye."
Blaine sighed. "Bye."
I would pay so much money to have a picture of Cooper's face when I called you my boyfriend today. It was goddamn priceless. I think I laughed for a solid five minutes and then almost lost it while we were filming because Cooper kept staring at me. It was amazing. -Blaine
Oh my god. That sounds hilarious! Well, I took the other route, but if Cooper knows, it's only a matter of time before Brittany does too. *eye roll emoji* did you know they've been talking to each other to like, parent trap us or something? I thought she was meddling, but I had no idea they were being this ridiculous. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised though. - Kurt
Jesus - Blaine
What route did you take? - Blaine
I just have pretended nothing happened. She keeps hinting and prying and trying to watch me to see if I act differently, but I just pretend I have no idea what she's talking about. It's so funny - Kurt
You're diabolical and I adore you - Blaine
Aww *face with hearts emoji* - Kurt
Is it weird to say I miss you? Is that dumb? - Kurt
Never. I miss you *heart emoji*- Blaine
*heart emoji* -Kurt
"Why are you typing so many hearts?" Cooper dropped their lunch down in front of where Blaine was stretched on his dressing room sofa. He tried to read Blaine's texts over his shoulder, but the younger pushed his face away.
"Why are you so nosy?"
"I'm invested and I want to know what happened! I've barely seen you since you were taking care of Kurt and Kit, then after you came and cried to me and Sam and Tina—"
"I did not cry to you guys."
"—I feel like I haven't seen you at all!" Cooper threw up his hands before he started aggressively unpacking their food. "I'm just wanting to make sure everything is good with my little brother! Fuck!"
Blaine watched as he tossed a stack of napkins down and then chewed on his nails. Blaine set his phone aside, teasing Cooper the furthest thing from his mind. "Hey."
Cooper glanced at him, then quickly away.
"Cooper. Cooper, look at me. Stop that." He pulled his brother's hand away. "What's wrong? Is it another part?"
The elder Anderson brother shook his head before plopping down next to Blaine. He stared down at his knees. "I got a phone call… From them…"
Blaine didn't have to ask who he meant by them. It was in the set of his jaw, the strain in his voice, and the way he seemed to make himself smaller. Blaine wasn't having that.
"Hey, look at me." He waited until Cooper did so. "Who won a People's Choice Award for Favorite Talk Show Host?"
"Blaine…"
"Who? Answer."
Cooper inhaled deeply and exhaled. "I did," he mumbled.
"Who is number four in LA's hottest talk show hosts?"
A tiny smile. "Me."
"And who is the fucking Turnip Queen of Westerville?"
Cooper finally looked up at him. "Me."
"Who?"
"I am!" He was definitely smiling now.
"Who's the fucking Turnip Queen?" Blaine yelled.
"I'm the fucking Turnip Queen!" Cooper yelled back.
Blaine shoved at him a little. "That's fucking right you are! And most importantly, you are my brother and my best friend. You're everything and fuck them for making you feel like shit."
Cooper blinked and wiped at his own eyes. "You're right. Fuck them."
Blaine massaged Cooper's shoulder until he collected himself. "What did they want?"
Cooper shrugged, but his face was pinched. "I think their TV broke and they wanted a new one or something. I don't know. I deleted their voicemail."
The hand on Cooper's shoulder squeezed a little. "Good. It's for the best. Fuck them."
"Fuck them," Cooper agreed. He sniffed a little.
"I don't know why you don't just block them."
"You know," Cooper said softly. "I've thought about it. I almost have a few times. But something holds me back." He looked at Blaine, his eyes hollow. "I want to know when they die. That sounds bad, but we said we would be honest… and can I tell you, I don't know if I'll be happy about it or not. Like, I've imagined it. Someone would call and I would be like, cool. Then I would come into work like normal and tell you and you would be like, that's the best news I've heard all year Cooper! You're the best Cooper! I love you Cooper!"
"I get it."
"Then after work we would go out and pop some champagne. Maybe even plan a trip to Ohio where we could spit on their graves and sell all dad's stupid World War Two shit. But I…" He choked up and Blaine's heart cracked. He hated seeing his brother so hurt. "I get a little upset when I think about it. I don't know what that says about me, but we've always been honest with one another and I honestly think I'll cry. Maybe even mourn a bit? Not even for them, but for what I didn't have. What we didn't have. Fuck." He twisted his hands together, like he was afraid Blaine would be upset at his confession.
Blaine wasted no time reassuring him. He always would. "Hey, what that means is that you are a better person than they will ever be. And that we always still kind of want our parents even though they are literally the worst." Blaine opened his arms. "You want a hug?"
"Yeah. Yeah I do."
They embraced, Cooper burying his face in Blaine's shoulder as Blaine smashed his cheek into the top of Cooper's head. He smiled.
"Want me to tell you about what happened with Kurt?"
"You don't have too..." Cooper's voice had leveled out and he peeked up at his little brother hopefully.
"Coop."
"Okay please tell me every detail! Pleasepleaseplease!"
"Okay, shut up! But first… You know when they die or whatever happens to us, it's you and me? Right?" He extended his pinky and Cooper took it wordlessly. He looked like he was going to cry again.
"Always. You and me."
They shook on it.
Friday
I've heard Cooper's side of the story which I think he embellished a lot, Brittany's note read. I need your side. Please? -The Best Assistant in the whole world :)
Kurt ignored the scrap of paper like he didn't see it and he carried on working at his desk.
"Did you have anything else, Kurt?" Brittany bounced on her heels expectantly.
Kurt sipped his fresh coffee and batted his eyes innocently. "Nope."
Brittany's shoulders slumped in disappointment.
"Oh! Wait!"
She brightened immediately. "Yes?"
"Happy Friday!"
She scowled at him. "Mean."
Kurt shot the scowl right back at her. "Maybe this will teach you not to meddle in people's lives!"
"It seemed to work out well for you."
"You too. Let me know how your date with Santana goes."
With a huff that didn't carry any real heat, Brittany flounced away. Kurt's cellphone rang as he called after her. "Maybe you'll learn to stay out of my business, Pierce!"
She ignored him. Kurt swiped his phone with a triumphant grin. That would show her. It was probably Blaine calling wanting to come over again. He had been over almost every night and stayed a few times. It was so lovely, but he was getting sore. They would always say they were just going to hang out, but end up tearing each other's clothes off anyway. Kurt rolled his eyes at himself. They were ridiculous—
Except it wasn't Blaine calling him.
"Hello?" His voice was one part shaky one part disbelieving.
There was a sharp intake of breath on the other end. "Kurt?"
"Rachel?"
"Yeah. Um, hi."
Kurt sat back in his chair. "Hi. Wow, it's been…"
"Too long," she finished.
"Yeah," he replied softly. "How— How are you?"
"I'm doing better." She sounded more sure of herself, more like the old Rachel. "I'd love to catch up."
"Me too! I'm working right now, but maybe I could call you back tonight—"
"I'm actually going to be in LA next week! Could we get together then? Maybe I could come visit and see your new house!"
Kurt's eyes flicked to the picture of Kit on his desk. "I don't mind that at all. I'd love it actually. But… You know Kit will be there? He's my son…" He tried to say it as delicately as he could, but they had always been direct with each other. It was one of the things he always appreciated about their friendship actually. The brutal honesty.
"I know. I… I actually wanted to meet him. That's if it's okay with you!" She hurried to add the last part.
He couldn't think of any reason for her not too. As long as she didn't scare him. "It should be fine. But, are you sure you would be okay with that? He knows some about Finn and I have always been honest with him. But he calls me dad."
Rachel sniffed on her end. "I know. I understand. But I need to do this. I've been afraid for so long and I couldn't face it, but I need to. And I miss you."
"Rachel…" he got choked up. "I miss you too. Look, I need to go, but text me when you know your plans and we will figure it out."
"I will. And thanks. For agreeing to see me and just not telling me off when I called."
"We all dealt with this in different ways. We all had to grieve. Some more privately than others."
He hung up later with a smile and his heart a little lighter. He couldn't wait to tell Blaine.
It was Friday night and the bar was standing room only. Blaine was pretty sure there were like three bachelorette parties happening and a birthday too. He loved this job, he really did, but nights like tonight wore him out with everyone talking over him and screaming drunkenly. Some lady who looked like she was tripping balls tried to grope him. It was crazy.
It was almost quitting time though and tips were good tonight, so he guessed he couldn't complain. He would have to weed through and throw away all the numbers from his tip jar, but that wasn't unheard of. He even got a condom in there once for some reason.
He couldn't wait to get off though, because not only was he fucking tired, but he was also ready to go snuggle with Kurt. They could sleep for awhile and then he could wake Kurt up super early with his dick down his throat. Then, after Kit woke up they could take him to the park or something. Blaine smiled as he sang At Last, imagining sliding into bed next to his boyfriend. Kurt had mentioned there was something exciting he had to tell him when they texted earlier, so he couldn't wait to hear about that. He would have to swing by his apartment and grab some stuff including a special cock ring he wanted to try with Kurt if he was up for it (heh.) Blaine knew he probably would be considering how he had been enjoying most of Blaine's little toys. Well, some weren't so little. They might have to work up to those…
He was so distracted by his thoughts that he didn't notice Sebastian Smythe until he was sitting beside him on the piano bench. Blaine covered the mic.
"Um, can I help— Oh. Hey, aren't you—"
"Sebastian. We sort of met at the gala thing. Thanks for that, by the way. You really helped me out." His sharp eyes scanned Blaine. "Hm. You're cute up close. It's a shame I like someone else. Are you into threesomes?"
Blaine sputtered. "Dude, what the hell? First of all, I'm working here. Second, I know I'm cute. I'm downright sexy. But no more threesomes for me because I have a boyfriend, so can you go find a seat out of my ass crack?" Blaine squinted at his freshly painted nails. "Would Kurt like a threesome? He likes a lot of my kinky shit. Hmm…" He kind of zoned out imagining just that when Sebastian snapped in his face.
"Hey, guess what? I don't care. I came here for something else anyway. Adam and I—"
"Oh fuck no!" Blaine scrunched his face up. He began playing Cruella De Vil from the Disney movie. "I'd rather fuck a cactus, thanks," he sang along with the melody.
Sebastian smacked a hand down on top of Blaine's while glowering at him. The piano made a discordant noise. "Don't say anything about Adam. I have a little proposition for you, killer…" he pulled out a card from his jacket pocket with a toothy smile.
Kit was already in bed. Blaine was working late that night and then he was going to come over. Usually he would go ahead to bed to get some sleep so he wouldn't be exhausted when Blaine inevitably woke him up in a very sexual way, but tonight he was too excited.
He was planning a party. It was going to be amazing!
He was working very hard on it when Blaine texted him that he was there. Kurt went to let him in and let Blaine kiss him before he came in and set his helmet and bag down. His hair was wet again. He must have showered at his place. He smiled curiously as he eyed Kurt.
"What's that look for? I have a feeling we are either about to do something filthy or I'm going to spend this weekend helping you paint the kitchen."
Kurt made a face at him. "Is sex all you think about? And what's wrong with the color my kitchen is now?" He sat back down on his couch amongst his laptop and all his notes. There may have also been a mood board.
Blaine snagged an apple from the kitchen before crawling into Kurt's lap. Kurt raised an eyebrow at him, a smile threatening to break through. Blaine had no business being so cute.
"You think about sex just as much as I do, if not more sweetheart." He pecked a kiss on the tip of Kurt's nose before biting the apple obnoxiously.
Kurt rolled his eyes, but didn't try to shove Blaine away. He could control himself. "I want to have a party."
Blaine rolled in Kurt's arms so his back was to Kurt's chest and he was more laying in Kurt's lap. "A party? Another work party?"
"No. For friends and family! Well, not my dad and Carole because they just visited and can't take off work so soon, but like work friends—"
"Not Alvin," Blaine groaned. "We just got rid of him!" He perked up from dramatically flopping across the couch. "Oh, I have something to tell you later. Remind me."
Kurt's curiosity was piqued, but he was too excited about this idea. "Sure. Anyway, so you remember my friend Rachel? From New York?"
Blaine munched on the apple as he thought. "Right! The one who was with your brother and then abandoned you after he died."
Kurt sighed. "She didn't exactly abandon me… I mean, she did, but she was grieving too. I get it."
"I don't. I mean, yeah it was awful, but it wasn't your fault. You could have used the help."
Kurt stared at his laptop. "It's not really that simple. I have zero doubt that they would have been together eventually if he was still…" He shook his head. "Anyway, she called me."
That got Blaine's attention. "She did?"
"Yes, and I want to have a little get together when she comes to town. Nothing too crazy, just a barbecue. Very low key."
"Kurt, sweetie, you're beautiful and spectacular and adorable and sexy, but you don't do low key."
Kurt folded his arms. "I can do low key."
Blaine tilted his head in a pitying way. "My lovely, gorgeous boyfriend. You're wearing Burberry socks right now."
Kurt tried to hide his feet. "So?"
"Can you grill?"
"Can you?" Kurt scoffed. He could totally grill.
"No, but Tina can."
Kurt glared at him. "Wow, and you are trying to make fun of me?"
Blaine sat up. "Whoa, I was not making fun of you. And I didn't have a dad, so there." He kissed Kurt with a playful glint in his eye.
"Really? Using the no dad excuse?"
"He's gotta be useful for something." Blaine lay back down. Kurt knew to tread carefully, but Blaine didn't seem upset about it. He combed his fingers through Blaine's damp hair which made the man close his eyes.
"We will figure it out. You're going to help me, right?"
Blaine opened his eyes and smiled up at him. "Of course. So we are mostly doing this for your friend Rachel?"
"Yeah. I want to do something nice. Plus, I want to get to know people more. We can invite Tina and Sam and Cooper."
"Ugh, not Cooper."
Kurt tugged on his hair a little. "Be nice to your brother."
Pulling on his hair sparked something like lust in Blaine's eyes and he slowly took another bite of his apple. "No."
"You're just trying to get me to pull your hair again."
"Am not." He pushed his head back towards Kurt's fingers. "But just so I can avoid it, if I make fun of your socks will that make you pull my hair again?"
Kurt laughed and shifted so that he was laying on top of Blaine on the couch. "Don't make fun of my socks." One hand held his weight up while the other fisted Blaine's hair. The man beneath him groaned and started squirming.
"I know one way to shut me up." Blaine looked up at him through half-lidded eyes. He had washed his face, but some of the black he used to line his eyes still stubbornly held. His eyes were a light brown at the moment and staring back at him with so much trust and affection that Kurt's heart squeezed in his chest.
The planning could wait until later. For now, he bent down to kiss Blaine. It tasted like apple and the future.
The next week at the barbecue - Sunday - end of June
"I'm dying here man! What do I say?" Sam fretted as he held the plate of burgers and hot dogs up for Tina who was working the grill. He stared over at Mercedes, who had arrived about half an hour ago and was now chatting with Santana and Brittany. Those two were officially a couple now it seemed.
Blaine shrugged and set out the potato salad Kurt had just made. "Just go say, 'Hi, I'm Blaine's roommate Sam. Want to see an impression?' Then do your Captain America speech. She will love it."
"Don't do that," Tina interjected. She took the platter from him. "Just go say hello. No impression." She frowned at Blaine. "How in the world do you get guys all the time?"
Blaine shot her a cheeky grin. "I have natural charm and daddy issues."
"Oh please," she retorted. "Don't act like you haven't spent the last several weeks pining and moping and being a complete dummy when it came to getting Kurt to be your boyfriend."
Sam snickered, causing Blaine to glare at them both. "That was a complicated situation!"
"What was a complicated situation?" Cooper asked as he joined the conversation by leaning his elbow on Blaine's head. The shorter brother jabbed a finger into his ribs, causing him to erupt in manic giggles.
"This saga of Blaine trying to get with Kurt." Tina smiled into the kiss Mike gave her as he deposited some corn onto the table.
Cooper nodded sagely. "Ah. Yes. That's just the Anderson way. We have to be an idiot for a bit before suddenly realizing we are in love and executing a big dramatic scene."
Mike turned to Blaine. "I understand you a lot more suddenly."
"Is anyone but Tina and Mike actually helping or are we all just standing around pestering her?" Kurt set a bowl of salad down and wiped his hands on a dish towel. He had been working in his kitchen all day and somehow still looked immaculate. It wasn't fair. Blaine basically floated over to him and wrapped his arms around Kurt's waist.
"Help. They are being mean to me," Blaine whined into Kurt's neck as the taller man patted his back.
"We are trying to solve a mystery here!" Cooper exclaimed. "Kurt, what was it that attracted you to Blaine? It's for science."
Kurt considered him and then looked down into Blaine's wide eyes.
"Tell them about my mad flirting skills. Or my kind heart. Or my big di—"
"I'm pretty sure it was the tattoos. Or the motorcycle."
Blaine gasped. "Wow. Just… You are so damn shallow!"
Kurt snorted at his mock indignation while Cooper bent in half laughing. "I'm sorry. You're such a good flirter."
Blaine tried to push Kurt away, but his grip was too strong even though he was laughing. "I'm wounded. You've wounded me."
"Dramatic."
"I will probably never recover. My self esteem is crushed."
Kurt looked over to Cooper. "This is your fault."
"What did I do?"
"You made him this way."
"Kurt only wants me for my good looks!" Blaine wailed. "What will happen when that goes? He will leave me, that's what!"
Sam pulled Kurt away from his flailing boyfriend. "Okay, since these guys suck, I need you to tell me what to do here. How do I talk to Mercedes? Does she like jokes? I gotta be honest, jokes are my strong suit, but I can fake being smart."
Kurt glanced from Sam to Mercedes and then back, amused. "You like Mercedes?"
Sam gave him a disbelieving look. "Uh, I know you're gay, but just look at her! Look at her smile! Her eyes! Her—"
Kurt held up a hand. "I realize she's beautiful. I've known her for quite some time. You know what? She's also just a regular human being. And she's very friendly, so go talk to her. Be yourself and ignore everything Cooper and Blaine said."
"Hey!" both Anderson brothers said together.
Sam shook out his hands and released a deep breath. "You got this, Evans. Be yourself. Be yourself." He gave Kurt a thumbs up before striding over to where the ladies were.
Meanwhile, Blaine was having to find solace in Mike's arms who was the only nice person in the whole group. He told him so to which Mike just shook his head and Tina rolled her eyes again. He sighed really loudly to get Kurt's attention. When it didn't work, he sighed again. His boyfriend could be so mean sometimes. He told Mike that too.
"Don't you think you're being a tiny bit dramatic?" Mike asked as he rubbed Blaine's back and tried not to laugh.
"Also the Anderson way," Cooper informed no one in particular because no one cared what he said.
"Well, who cares if I am?" Blaine sniffed pitifully. "Not my BOYFRIEND."
Kurt cocked his hips and put his head to the side, like he was made of sass. It turned Blaine on more than he cared to admit.
"Are you done being a baby?" he asked.
Blaine clung to Mike. "No."
Kurt rolled his eyes and then smiled over his shoulder. "Hey, buddy!"
Marley brought Kit over to Kurt. "He just woke up."
"Just in time!" Kurt smacked a kiss to Kit's cheek. "Thank you for helping with him while I cooked. I hope you can stay and have something to eat?"
She smiled a bit shyly. Blaine had talked with Marley a few times and was growing suspicious that she had a little crush on his man. He didn't blame her of course. But he was watching her. With both eyes.
"I was actually going to meet my boyfriend."
"Well, he's welcome too," Kurt said. "But I completely understand if you want to get away from here for a bit."
"Let me go call him. That food does smell really good."
She went back into the house and Kurt began talking to Kit. Blaine sniffed louder than he had been and it caught the boy's attention.
"Towah sad." He made an adorable sad face that had everyone there cooing and Blaine's heart actually broke a bit.
Blaine let Mike go which seem to relieve him and went to Kit. "Hey, little man. I'm totally fine. I'm not sad."
"Yeah, Blaine was just being silly," Kurt assured him and sent Blaine a warning look. "It's okay to cry and be sad though. Unless you're just doing it because you need constant attention for some reason."
"Oh my god, Blaine totally does that," Cooper said as he made the scariest fucking faces at the poor child. "I have to always be the mature one. It's exhausting."
Blaine was about to tell him just how wrong he was when he heard the voice that made his balls crawl back up inside his body.
"You're so right, Mr. Anderson. On top of that, he's the most unprofessional person I've ever had the displeasure to work with."
Blaine hissed as he wheeled around to face his nemesis.
"Dylan. What the fu—"
"Blaine!" Kurt covered Kit's ears.
"—udge are you doing here? Did Cooper need his as— Uh assistant to wipe his butt?" He congratulated himself on the good save.
Dylan eyed him with disgust. "Wow. Really? See darling? Do you see the harassment I have to put up with?" He turned to a tall, beautiful woman beside him. "If working for the great Cooper Anderson didn't bring me personal fulfillment, I would contact HR."
She rubbed his arm in a comforting gesture and shook her head at Blaine. "The grief you have put him through. The hours of therapy."
Dylan had the gall to look forlorn. Then he seemed to remember where he was. "Oh! Pardon me. How rude of me to not introduce my wife, Ashley. I guess I pulled a Blaine, as we say in our house."
Ashley nodded in understanding. "I understand where that expression comes from now." She narrowed her eyes at Blaine, who gasped.
"I'm rude? I'm rude?" Blaine could feel his eyes bulging out of his head.
"Hi, I'm Kurt Hummel. I told Cooper to invite some of you that work with them." Like a traitor, Kurt stepped forward and shook their hands.
Dylan and Ashley looked starstruck. Honestly, you would have thought they would be used to famous people by now. Blaine was way cooler than them.
"Oh, Mr. Hummel! It's so nice of you to think of us!" Dylan said.
"Your episodes of Project Runway were our favorite of the season!" Ashley said.
"I still object to being called rude!" Blaine said. Everyone ignored him.
"Thank you very much," Kurt said with a humble bob of his head. "Thank you for coming to my little party."
Dylan suddenly looked around the back yard. "Where is Evan? He cried so hard at the episode where you talked about being bullied."
"Evan?" Blaine had no idea what was going on anymore.
They called over another man with glasses talking to Santana and Brittany who were holding hands. At their voices, he trotted over until he saw Kurt and froze.
"Oh my god. It's Kurt Hummel."
"Hello," Kurt said warmly.
Evan looked like he was about to throw up, faint, and come all at once. "I'm your biggest fan," he whispered.
Kurt coughed. "Oh. Thank you. It's very nice to meet you."
"You have a child?" Evan clasped his hands under his chin. "I know everything about you! How did I not know that?"
Kurt's smile was a little tight. "I'm kind of private. I'd appreciate you not telling anyone. Our secret?"
"I have a secret with Kurt Hummel," Evan said to no one in particular as he began to hyperventilate.
Dylan went to Evan and began helping him breathe. "Forgive my husband. He just relates since he was bullied too."
Kurt gave him a sympathetic smile. "I'm sorry about that."
"Hold up," Blaine said. "You said she was your wife and he was your husband. So which is it?" He had him!
"We are." The way Dylan glared at him was withering. "We're a throuple."
Evan stopped freaking out to wrinkle his nose at Blaine. "He is the rude one you deal with harassment from, isn't he?" He shook his head at Blaine. "For shame."
"Harassment? Harassment!?" Blaine clenched his fists. "I'll show you harassment!"
It was then that the back door cracked open and a short brunette woman Blaine guessed was Rachel Berry stepped through. He had seen an old picture of her Kurt had shown him of them in their high school days.
Kurt turned to her along with Mercedes and Santana who Blaine recalled also knew her. She noticed everyone staring at her and for a moment seemed to consider darting back into the house. The fingers curled around the door tightened with determination and she stood up taller.
"Well, I've arrived!" She did the wave pageant queens and royalty did before marching straight up to Kurt. He was giving her a soft look.
"Hey, Rach. It's been awhile."
She smiled at him, but it wavered when she caught sight of Kit. "It has," she agreed without taking her eyes off his blond hair.
Kurt shook his head. "Forgive me. Everyone, this is Rachel Berry. We're old friends." He bent his head down. "And this is Kit." The child turned and Rachel finally looked at him.
She swallowed hard, eyes filling. "Oh my god. He looks so much like…" She cleared her throat and seemed to collect herself. She looked at Kurt. "This is so nice. Thank you for… For…" She suddenly broke down again and Kurt handed Kit to Blaine.
"Here, take him for a minute. I'm going to take Rachel inside."
Blaine nodded as Kurt ushered the woman back into the house. Kit stared after her, but turned to look back at Blaine.
"Why sad?"
Blaine brushed a strand of soft hair from Kit's face. "Sometimes people are sad. I think she will be okay. Don't worry. Daddy is going to talk to her."
"Look," Cooper whispered. "Look how good we did!"
Blaine looked up and mostly everyone was staring at him and Kit. Cooper was high-fiving Brittany.
"All according to plan," she agreed.
Blaine rolled his eyes. "You do realize my relationship with Kurt has nothing to do with you two?"
Dylan scoffed and Blaine shot him a glare. He raised his voice. "Everyone go ahead and eat! I'm sure Kurt will be back out in a moment."
Everyone began to chat again and went towards the food.
"That makes a lot more sense," Dylan said as he eyed Blaine holding Kit.
"You finally came to the conclusion I'm way cooler than you?"
Dylan didn't rise to his bait. "I was wondering why you would be here. I guessed you had begged Cooper to come along, but this," he motioned to Kit. "You're the nanny."
Blaine erupted in laughter which caused Kit to giggle. "I'm dating Kurt, but nice try."
It was Dylan's turn to laugh. "Okay."
"No, really."
Dylan shook his head and headed for the food. "That's the best joke you've ever told."
"I'm not lying! Hey, get back here! Someone tell him I'm dating Kurt! Cooper!"
"Don't worry, half-pint." Santana patted him on the head as she joined Brittany. "I've already been talking Kurt into a throuple for you. It's only a matter of time."
He stared at her in confusion. "What? I don't want to be in a throuple."
"What's wrong with a throuple?" Brittany asked with a frown. "You shouldn't judge people."
Blaine sighed heavily and switched Kit to his other side. It didn't matter because the child pulled at his hair on that side as well. "I didn't say it was wrong. I'm sure they are very happy. I just said it wasn't for me."
"Spurning my gift." Santana shook her head. "No wonder they don't like you."
"Oh my god."
"That was super nice of you, Santana." Brittany kissed her cheek. "He's so ungrateful. After all the work Cooper and I did too."
Blaine screamed through his teeth before turning his head toward Kit. "Are you hungry? Let's go get you something before the obnoxious lesbians make me pull my own hair out."
He stomped off, ignoring the way Santana and Brittany cackled after him.
Everyone was so mean to him.
