Ikaruga saw it coming at the end huh. Yeah, Genki learned Angels true name, and the pair learned a bit more about one another's pasts. Aries surely is. We shall see what happens this time. Chapter 15
The next morning came and due to what had been planned, Mirajane and her siblings had gone to the place that the target of their job was at, a desolate area that Mirajane thought was fitting for a place that held a beast called the King of Monsters. Full of giant rock and stone pillars, they went into a darkened cave that felt rather creepy to the three siblings.
Mirajane and her siblings strove forward towards the beast itself, beginning to see its hulking form growing more and more in her eyes.
"That is what we came for? Its so big."
Lisanna expressed her doubts at the size of the beast and feeling its magical power.
Elfman steps forward, and proudly proclaims.
"Do not worry sis, as your big bro, I shall protect you!"
Those words caused Lisanna to feel a little less apprehensive.
Mirajane went to take on her Demon form, when she noticed presences that were beginning to manifest around them.
Mirajane narrowed her brows, and thought about what was going on, until she saw silhouettes began to appear from the shadows. Different kind of beasts, were emerging, and showing their forms to the Strauss siblings.
Mirajane then looks towards the King of Monsters that was slowly turning back towards her, and sees its devilish look going right for her.
"Damn you...alright, fine, lets see what you can do, monster."
Mirajane cursed, seeing that as the seconds passed on, many monsters were beginning to appear all around them, essentially making them all, trapped.
As that was going on, Genki was attempting to get into contact with Mirajane to see if she had finished her mission yet. But for whatever reasons, the call simply didn't go through or Mirajane didn't pick up, he wasn't entirely sure what was going on.
"...Maybe she's fighting."
Genki told himself, wondering if Mirajane was okay.
When he was trying to call her, Loke came into the room, and sat down opposite him.
"I just want to say, thank you. For what you did for Aries, and for me." Loke began, giving off a slight sheepish look to him. "I erm...To be honest, I didn't know about many Celestial Mages that could be good in this era, I've only seen some of the worse ones. But, its good to know that Mages like you do exist out here, and that Aries has a good chance to have a good life now."
Genki gives a serene smile.
"Yes, she can do. But Loke...about what happened with Karen..."
Trying to speak with kindness, Loke appreciated it, and continued on.
"I have to atone for what I did. I didn't want Karen to die...I never did. But I wanted her to understand the pain she had caused Celestial Spirits. I never thought she'd take a job while she couldn't summon anymore spirits, and that she'd end up dead...each time I think about it..."
Listening to what he was saying, it was clear to Genki that Loke felt immense guilt at what happened with Karen.
Genki stood up, and then went towards the right hand side of Loke, giving the young spirit a kind smile.
"You had the best intentions to show her that you spirits are people with feelings too. I can't say about Karen as I never met her, but from what I have heard, she wasn't a good person. Maybe deep down, she did learn your lesson you tried to teach her. Even though her dying is tragic, you shouldn't have to shoulder the guilt. Loke, you don't deserve to die because of what happened with Karen."
Loke truly did appreciate what Genki was trying to say to him, and it did bring him some comfort, yet at the same time many thoughts ran through his head about Karen.
"I do appreciate your words, they're very kind. But, this is something..."
"You have to discover, I understand Loke. But, know that you're not alone. I'm a friend to all spirits, regardless if they're in a contract with me or not."
"Haha...thank you, Genki. Oh, yeah. Sorry about running away from you and all before this adventure, seems a bit rude now huh."
"Nah, don't worry about it. I get it." Genki said as he waved his hand. "What is important is that this is resolved now. Want to see Aries-san for a bit? I know that she really wants to see you. Ooh yes, I have some news for you."
"News?"
Loke questioned, with Genki nodding and explaining.
"Yes, Aries-san has said that she wishes to stay with me, so you guys can see one another whenever you want."
Loke showed a bigger smile than before.
"She did? She must've seen a good thing or several good things about you, then. I am glad, she's found a home that she feels comfortable in. And seeing her...yes, I would like to see her."
Genki nods, and stands up.
He holds up his key, and lets out "Open, Gate of the Ram, Aries." releasing Aries in to the world.
When she saw Loke, she began becoming misty eyed, while Genki placed his hand on her back kindly.
"You guys have a lot of catching up to do, have fun Aries-san."
"T-Thank you very much Genki-sama!"
Genki lightly chuckled, shaking his head, and left the pair alone so they could talk about many things.
Going outside, Genki took out his communication Lacrima, and tried contacting Mirajane once more, but to no avail, leaving him wondering what was going on with Mirajane...
As that was going on, Mirajane and the others were confronting the King of Monsters. The giant hulking beast gave menacing eyes towards the trio, with Mirajane showing a confident yet controlled smirk on her face saying she was ready to brawl, yet she was being cautious at the same time.
"Big sister, the job didn't say anything about having so many beasts here."
Lisanna spoke up, feeling unnerved with having so many eyes upon her.
"Yeah, seems like it isn't called the King of Monsters for nothing, it has underlings, or at least those that follow its power. But we can't change that now Lisanna. Nothing changes. You back me up, I am sensing incredible power from that so called King of Monsters, neither of you are ready to fight against that. So give me a hand and fight as hard as you can, got it?"
"Wait, big sister..."
Elfman tried to protect, but Mirajane made it clear with a look in her eyes, so he relented, and watched as the creatures began forming all around them. Of different shapes, and sizes, the monsters had rather disturbing appearances, but to Mirajane it didn't matter as she was going to do her best.
"Time to start!"
Mirajane equipped her signature Demon form, Satan Soul, giving her wings, and claws, which she immediately began using, flying forward, and with her sharpened claws, she tore through two monsters with ease, before she turned her hand, and from said hand, she released a wave of darkness which blasted right through another enemy, killing it off completely.
One monster came in from behind Mirajane, who in turn twisted her body, slamming her foot into the being, and shot it high into the air, enough for the caves ceiling to be broken through, and allowed trickles of light to shine down towards them all.
"Don't think so!"
Two more came flying down towards Mirajane, who in turn moved her tail that she gained, using it like a whip, and slammed one of the beasts across the face, sending it crashing into the other one, where they both smashed the ground hard, killing them off with sheer strength.
Seeing their sister doing so well, Lisanna transformed herself into that of a cat girl. With ears, and a tail, along with sharp claws, she was able to move at a good speed, and she began dodging the enemies, rounding them up all around her as she did so.
"Big bro, your turn!"
Lisanna called out, so he transformed his arm into that of a bears arm. Unlike his siblings, he couldn't do a full transformation, but he still was rather strong, and brought down his arm against the enemies that Lisanna had rounded up with her quick speed, crushing them under his strength, and destroying them out of existence.
"That's what it is to protect your family, big bro!"
Lisanna gives Elfman a curious look, while Mirajane dashes through the area.
"Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!"
Using her incredible strength, and raw magical power, she was able to ignite an explosive wave of darkness that encompassed a good few of the monsters, sending them flying to different locations all the way around the area, the intensity of the power Mirajane used caused their bodies to collapse in on themselves, and be destroyed out of existence, showing the incredible power that Mirajane had.
That was until the King of Monsters aggressively shot for Mirajane, who noted the speed to be very high, so she leaps out of the way, barely missing the strike, then she raises her hand, releasing a stream of darkness right for the enemy.
"Lisanna, Elfman, keep the others off of me. This ones mine."
The King of Monsters responds by holding out its large arms, and crossing them over himself, blocking the incredible power of Mirajane. Despite the fact that the enemy was guarding it did begin to bleed at Mirajane's darkness attack, to the point even the beast was growling at the feeling.
So it swept away the attack of Mirajane's, and then came for her with a strong punch, responding she coated her fist in darkness, and clashed violently against the beast. Their attacks generated a large shockwave between them, resulting in the cave beginning to break under their attacks.
The beast pushed against Mirajane, and was able to briefly overpower her, sending her skidding across the ground. Without giving her time to recover, the beast slammed his arm into her body, smashing her into the side of the cave. Her communication Lacrima came flying out of her possession, and ended up landing several paces away from Mirajane, as Mirajane herself bled from her body at the impact area.
"Mira!"
Lisanna called out, Mirajane grit her teeth, pushing her bodies speed to as high as she could, getting in close to see the beast trying to attack her, which she dodges out of the way, then slammed her foot into the body of the beast, coated in darkness, delivering a devastating attack that pushed the beast back across the ground.
As she did, Mirajane used this chance to get in close, and places her hands onto the beasts body, lightning beginning to gather around her hands as a result.
"Evil Spark!"
Releasing a close and personal bolt of electricity against the enemy, the blue coloured lightning wrapped around the beasts body.
From that, Mirajane delivered damage to the beast to the point that it began smoking from its body, and fresh blookd as well.
"Alright you ugly beast, time to send you and your freaky pals away."
Exhaling, Mirajane gathered darkness within her hand, and yelled "Satan's Blast!" which releases a swirling, disintegrating, spherical blast that encompasses not only the beast, but those around as well that would cause trouble for her siblings, disintegrating the weaker enemies, and pushing back the stronger enemies with wounds appearing across them.
"Animal Soul, Rabbit!"
Lisanna yelled, and leapt up into the air as she transformed into a humanoid rabbit, then she came down with her incredible leg strength, crushing the enemies that happened to be there, while Elfman looked on, seeing the might of his sisters.
Not wanting to be the weak link, he pushed his arm further, and grappled several enemies at the same time, using his bear like claw to shred through them, to the point that they couldn't hold their form, and ended up being destroyed completely by Elfman.
Mirajane looked towards the beast, and saw that it was bleeding from her attack. A good deal of blood at that.
Mirajane was happy to see that, glad that she was able to wound it like that, so she knew that she should finish it off now before anything else happened.
However, the moment that she was going to build her power, she felt something that worried her.
More and more enemies were beginning to fill the area, the beast had more and more allies that swarmed all around them. From flying to ones that crawled underground.
"Big sister...how many allies does it have?"
Lisanna was incredibly worried about what was happening.
It seemed that the King of Monsters was named a King for such for a reason, seeing what beasts stayed with it, and how strong it was to go up against the likes of Mirajane.
A small time later, Genki along with the others began gathering outside of the hotel they stayed in the previous night, minus Loke who already went on ahead towards Fairy Tail, saying that there was some business that he had to take care of.
Genki tried calling Mirajane again on the Lacrima, but there wasn't any answer.
"Still no contact with Mirajane-san?"
Wendy asked, as Juvia had yet to arrive outside as she was busy gathering her things.
Genki shakes his head.
"She is very strong, so I shouldn't worry. But, I don't know, maybe because its an S Class mission or something, and she isn't answering, I do hope she is okay. Either way, if she hasn't been to Magnolia, since she should have her Lacrima, then it should be easy to transfer there with my Thought Projection, since I can tell where her location is, even if we are so far apart. I'll call Erza-san in a minute after we've spoken to Juvia-san."
Wendy nods her head ever so slightly.
"Yes, maybe that would be best, Genki-san. So, Angel-san really went then?"
"She did, but we got the key for Aries-san from her."
"It seems that you were right about Angel-san, Genki-san."
Genki gave an appreciative smile towards the young girl.
"Yeah. Anyway, lets see what Juvia-san is going to do now. Because Angel-san has left I want to make sure that Juvia-san is okay before we go. Maybe she might decide to come with us."
Genki mused, with Wendy wondering what that would be like.
They didn't have long to wait, as Juvia soon came out of the hotel that they stayed at. Her eyes naturally searched for Angel, while also making rather heart gazing eyes towards Genki himself, who in turn gave curious eyes right back.
"Genki-sama, have you seen Angel-san?"
Genki didn't like being the bearer of bad news.
Especially when he could see that Juvia really did consider Angel a friend.
So Genki tried his best way to break the news as easily as possible.
"Angel-san...she left late last night."
"Huh...she left Juvia behind? But Angel-san said...we were comrades, friends..."
Genki could understand why she would feel dejected all of a sudden. It was a situation where Juvia had been left behind. Genki knew why Angel did it, to give Juvia a better life, but to Juvia, she had simply been tossed aside by someone that she called her friend.
"She left for good intentions, Juvia-san." Genki said it in a kind way, trying to connect with Juvia, as he was aware of how being left behind could feel, not wanting Juvia to feel lonely. "She is...you see Juvia-san, she left, because she felt like you didn't belong with her, due to her past, and not wanting you to be wrapped up in that any longer, to give you a better life, not one with pain. I know for a fact, she does care about you, she showed me through our intentions as much, and when we spoke, she told me she cares about you."
Genki posed his thoughts the best that he could do, not wanting Juvia to feel down about what was going on.
Juvia's head turned downwards.
"If not with Angel-san...then where does Juvia belong? Juvia felt accepted by Angel-san...but, if she's gone then...what does Juvia do now Genki-sama?"
Genki showed his compassionate side, and pulled closer towards the young blue haired woman.
"We are going towards Magnolia, and while I don't know what you do want to do now Juvia-san, why not come with us for the time being? I'll help you find a place where you wish to go. If that's to Fairy Tail or to somewhere else, it would be your choice, Juvia-san. We're here for you, Juvia-san."
Juvia looked taken aback, and placed a hand on her chest.
"You would...want Juvia to come with you? Accepting Juvia, and wishing to be with Juvia Genki-sama?"
Genki continued showing his compassionate smile towards her, and gave a single nod of his head, comforting the young girl.
"Yes, that's right, you can come with us, and lets see what it is that you want to do. Besides, we're friends, right Juvia-san? Friends help one another in times of need."
Juvia felt touched by his words, and couldn't help but place a hand over her own heart, feeling a heavy blush beginning to form on her face.
"Yes...we are friends...Genki-sama!"
Juvia felt elated to hear what she heard from Genki.
People, wanting to be her friends.
To be with her, and to help her out.
Genki offered the young woman a kind smile, as he began moving forward.
However, he then thought of Mirajane, so Genki turned to the others.
"I am just going to call Erza-san to see if Mira-san is back at the guild, okay?"
"Sure!"
Genki smiled, and brought out his communication Lacrima.
Calling Erza, she soon answered.
[Genki, this is a surprise. Is everything okay?]
"Well, I hope so. Could you tell me if Mira-san and the others have arrived back at Fairy Tail? If you're there of course."
Genki asked politely, but he didn't get an answer that he liked.
[No, she and the others aren't in Magnolia. They should be still on the job with that King of Monsters. Has something happened? It has been a little while now...]
"Right now, I don't know. But I have a strange feeling, Mira-san hasn't been answering any calls. She could be fighting I guess. But still, I'm gonna try and Thought Projection towards her, to see if there is something going on, and to make sure she and the others are okay. I'll let you know if I find anything."
[Okay, thanks. I'll let you know if she calls here in the meantime. You don't think something truly bad could have happened, right? Mirajane should be enough for this King of Monsters, I have heard it is strong, but together with her siblings, they should be enough for it, I would imagine. Unless there has been some nasty surprises...I really hope that isn't the case.]
"Yes...that is what I am worried about. She should be able to beat it with them... Either way, lets hope we're worrying for nothing, and she is merely sleeping or something."
Going off of the call, Genki ran a hand through his hair, and explained to the others.
Wendy also now began to worry a bit.
"Genki-san, you're going to Thought Projection to them, right? Is there anything that we can do?"
"Get prepared to leave in case we are needed to go, this shouldn't take more than a minute, either way."
Wendy and the others nod, while Genki begins sending his Thought Projection towards Mirajane and the others, focusing in on the Lacrima that she had, and hopefully Genki thought that she would be close enough for him to find her.
Soon enough, Genki announced "We have to go now!" which caused the others to jump into action as Genki thrust his hand out, beginning to prepare to depart...
As that was going on, Mirajane and the others were continuing the fight against the King of Monsters. With more of its allies coming, Mirajane grit her teeth, before yelling "Keep them busy! I'll be right back!" and tackled the large beast with her body, using her strength to drag it away from the others, knowing that they'd not be able to handle this beast.
"You damn beast, I'll show you the power of a Demon!"
Digging her claws into the beasts body, she continuously dragged it through the area, where the beast slammed its head against her own, pushing her away. However as it did, Mirajane released a blast of darkness for the beast, sending it flying out of the cave, where she gave chase towards it.
Going into the open world, several large stone structures surrounded them all, Mirajane glanced back to see Lisanna and Elfman holding their own, but she knew they wouldn't last forever.
Mirajane turned her attention back to the King of Monsters, releasing an "Evil Shower!" towards it, which resulted in many bullets of darkness going for the creature.
Flying high into the air, the beast turned its body down towards Mirajane, and released a burst of magic, which began destroying the darkness bullets that she sent off, and continued to go for the young girl.
The magic it had ripped through several stone areas, causing them to collapse, Mirajane dodged out of the way in time to avoid being attacked.
"This thing has incredible power, more than it was said to have...damn it, if I don't finish this off soon, then the others will...no, I have to take it down, here and now. There's no alternatives to this. I have to stop it now. If it didn't have those damn other creatures with it, I am sure we could win...no point worrying now, I have to do my best..."
Without a second to spare, Mirajane came down and engaged in a fist fight with the beast.
Coating her fists with darkness, Mirajane was able to pummel the giant creature, but conversely it was also able to match her own blows, with each subsequent blow being capable of shattering the entire area all at once, with rocks and stones flying all over the place, yet the beast didn't stop with its incredible attack, and continued on towards Mirajane strongly.
"Aaaah!"
The King of Monsters got in a lucky shot, and slammed into her right hand side. Mirajane was flung backwards, and away, shattering a stone pillar with her body. But she didn't stop, and right away turned around, concentrating her magical energies before her, then she unleashed a powerful destructive wave of darkness towards the beast.
"Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrr!"
It let out an unholy sound, and combatted Mirajane's attack with its body. Taking it full force, the beast was able to tank the attack, albeit receiving some heavy wounds across its body.
Mirajane exhaled, having used a good deal of her magic to cause as much damage as possible, but she saw despite the injuries that she gave it, the beast was right back towards its feet, bleeding a good deal, and swung its arm for her.
With no time to dodge out of the way, Mirajane received the full blow of the attack, smashing deeply into her body, and flung her away, which in turn caused Mirajane to slam into the ground, her arm in particular got damaged as a result.
"No...its strong...even then...even then...I have to...I have to stand...I have to keep going...for them...Lisanna...Elfman..."
Mirajane stood back up, feeling her arm being damaged, but she got ready to fight once more to protect those that she loved.
Meanwhile, Lisanna and Elfman were being confronted by a good number of beasts surrounding them.
"Big bro Elf, there's too many of them!"
"We have to keep going! Big sis needs us to stop them!"
Elfman was determined, and didn't want to stop for anything.
Lisanna did her best to repel them, while Elfman was also doing his best, beating them with his fist, but the enemies got through and slammed both Elfman and Lisanna down into the ground, where they both let out small cries of pain.
Trying to recover, Elfman saw a lizard like creature going for his little sister, he tightened his hand and began pulling himself off of the floor, making a charge for the creature to protect Lisanna with all his might.
"Lisanna! Don't worry, I'm coming!"
Elfman crossed the distance enough for him to be able to punch an enemy coming in for Lisanna, only to be slammed into his upper body so hard that he coughed up bile. Collapsing to his knees, Lisanna gasped at the sight.
"Big bro!"
Lisanna panicked, great worry coming over her.
As it did, Genki came into existence, his form being viewable to those around. As a Thought Projection, he was able to move freely through the beasts, which he did upon seeing Lisanna and Elfman backed into a corner.
"Lisanna-san, Elfman!"
When hearing his voice, it brought tears to Lisanna's eyes, and a happy manly smile towards Elfman's face.
"Big bro, you're actually here!"
"Sort of, I'm a Thought Projection." Genki looked around, and couldn't see Mirajane. "Tell me what happened later, right now we need to get you both out of here. Your sister..."
"The King of Monsters." Lisanna revealed, noticing the enemies beginning to form around them. "They...They had way more help than we thought Genki-kun. And, And...big sister, she's doing her best and we are trying but..." Lisanna began looking sadder and sadder, so Genki pulled closer towards her, and gave her a comforting look. "Genki-kun...what can we do? Big bro Elf and I...we can't beat these by ourselves...and you're a Thought Projection...big sister might need us...and we can't do a single thing..."
"Lisanna-san, its going to be okay. I am on my way. Until I arrive, I want you to take Mira-san, and get away. If that's not an option, then I want you all to hide until we arrive, okay?"
"But big bro, what about these?"
Elfman exclaimed, so Genki looked between them, seeing which had the more magical power between them.
"Okay Lisanna-san, I'm going to transfer my magic to you temporarily for a single shot, okay?"
"O-Okay, it will work?"
"Think so, its the best I've got for you right now."
"We will take it!"
Genki nods his head a single time, and concentrates his magic towards Lisanna to transfer it.
Lisanna felt a weird yet lovely sensation come over her, as Elfman saw some enemies come towards them. Genki called "Elfman, buy us a few seconds, okay?" to which he happily obliged, glad that his big brother figure was placing such trust in him.
"Leave them to me Lisanna, big bro!"
Elfman called forth his arm, and slammed it left and right like a battering ram, taking down a few opponents that wished to try and get through them.
When the process finished, Lisanna widened her eyes, and magic circles appeared where her eyes were. Before them, shining in a brilliant radiance that surrounded her, and Elfman in the most beautiful of light. Night also began to befall them despite it still being in the day, with this being the activation of Genki's magic through Lisanna.
With a mark appearing on Lisanna's arm that looked like a crescent moon, Genki's form vanished as he had transferred his power to Lisanna to not only do the attack, but to help them get away from the area, believing that was the best Genki could do for the time being to protect them.
"Ooh my...yes, I can do it!" Lisanna said it with off coloured light flames beginning to build all around her, and Elfman, like a protective force field that the enemies couldn't break into. "Moonlight Conflagration!"
When she said it, all of the light flames spread around her. An omni direction wave of light flames burned through the enemies trying to get close. Elfman was in awe seeing Lisanna pulling this off with Genki's magic, and watched the enemies being burned to an insane degree that they weren't able to even try and fight against him.
The flames spread further, melting the cave that they were in and blasted through it, revealing the outside to Lisanna and Elfman, who saw Mirajane being in pain from the attack of the King of Monsters.
Mirajane also saw it, and recognized the flames, whispering "Genki..." with such relief, and noticed that the King of Monsters was also looking towards the flames at the same time, so she took this chance to sneak around to his left hand side, and mustered all of the power she had, smashing her fist into his body, and sent him flying into the flames.
"Burn you bastard."
Mirajane panted, feeling her body surging with pain.
As it did, Lisanna came flying out in her bird form, and had Elfman grappled in one talon, then she came over, and grabbed Mirajane with her other, and began flying off away from the area as fast as they could.
However, they turned when hearing a large howl, seeing that despite the heavy burns, the King of Monsters was still in hot pursuit of them, drawing worry from them all, so Lisanna did her best to get them out of sight, knowing that escape was next to impossible...
A small time later, Genki and the others managed to arrive. Genki let out his breath with a sweat bead dropping from his forehead, while Wendy looks around, the same for Carla.
Juvia on the other hand looked concerned for Genki, and moved closer.
"Genki-sama, are you okay?"
"Yeah, just need a moment, takes a good deal of power to travel over this distance that usually takes a good while within a short amount of time, plus shared a good deal of power with Lisanna-san. But don't worry, I will be fine and ready to go when needed." Juvia nods, seeing the dedication that he had to those that he loved, as Genki exhales. "...Mira-san, please be safe, we are so close, stay safe for a little while longer..."
Genki looked around, as did Juvia, seeing the devastation the battle with the Strauss siblings, and the King of Monsters, plus its allies had.
"Genki-sama, Juvia doesn't see anyone around here."
"Yeah, they're hiding, and I can sense a good deal of monsters around us." Wendy turns to Genki. "Find anything Wendy-chan?"
"I think I can sense Mirajane-san and the others coming from the right, but its a good distance away."
Genki looked in the direction that Wendy was looking, and sensed for Mirajane and the others, finding them a few moments later. Though it was only due to the fact Wendy and Genki were good sensors, they could tell that Mirajane and the others were doing their best to keep hidden as much as possible.
"Yes, I agree with you. I think they are that way."
Carla went to suggest they leave, when she sees red eyes beginning to emerge from the shadows scattered around them.
"Everyone...we are not alone."
Juvia, and Wendy jumped into action, the same for Genki, as they saw the remnants of the enemies Mirajane and others left behind, and survived the attack.
Genki regained breath, tightened his fist, and summoned his light all around him, the moon grew larger and larger in the sky.
"Everyone...lets finish this."
[Right!]
Responding positively, the four of them began engaging the enemy as quickly as they could, hoping that Mirajane and the others would hold out.
Having managed to find an area to hide in, Lisanna did her best to tend to Mirajane's wounds, while Elfman looked on with frightful and angry eyes at the same time. He wished that he could do more to protect his siblings from being in such a perilous state.
"Thanks, Lisanna."
Mirajane said with her face contorting slightly, as she felt a surge of pain go through her.
Elfman looked at the ground regretfully, seeing his sister in such a state.
"Its okay. But, big sis Mira...what do we do now?"
"If Genki's here...then we should be able to...damn it, I can't believe that it came down to this, if it was only that creature, and a few others...but, it sheer force it had..."
Elfman hated to see this happen, so he pushed his ideas forward.
"Then if it finds us, I will take it over-"
"No, Elfman."
Mirajane shot that idea down, knowing that Elfman right now probably wouldn't be able to take over such a strong and powerful being.
"But, big sis, I..."
"Elfman...I know you want to help, but remember your own limitations. We all have them, and right now, you can't take it over. We don't know what it would do to you. It could turn you against us."
"I-I know that, but it is going to kill you then I want to protect you!"
"I know you do, but I also don't want anything to happen to you Elfman. I am your sister, and I can get us out of this." Mirajane looked at her damaged arm, knowing that she wouldn't be able to rely on that side for a while. "We have Genki coming, all we have to do is stay hiding until then. We can make it out of this."
Mirajane hoped that to be the case, but she wasn't entirely sure on how she was going to accomplish this task.
Time continued to pass, and they managed to stay hidden.
Mirajane clutched her damaged arm, and thought about how they'd be able to get out of this, that's when she felt something approaching them, her body beginning to feel tense.
Heavy footsteps landed through the area. The earth was shaking.
The beast was approaching them, and Mirajane knew that she wouldn't be able to fight it for long. She still had to recover some of her magical energies, and she knew neither Elfman or Lisanna would be able to make much of a scratch against it.
Elfman on the other hand felt the duty to try and protect his siblings come over him, and he went to step out, when Mirajane grabbed his arm, pulling him back.
"No, Elfman."
"But big sister..."
Elfman called out quietly, but Mirajane gave a stern look.
"You can't Take Over such a beast, you haven't been able to do a Full Take Over yet Elfman, and that beast is stronger than those you've tried to take over. You have to think about the best action, and right now, we have to stay as hidden as we possibly can do, got it?"
Mirajane didn't want to sound harsh, but she also didn't want Elfman to risk his life either in doing something he simply wasn't ready for either.
However, the choices didn't allow them to do much, as the hulking King of Monsters swept through the area with its large arms. Blood came out of the beast, showing that Mirajane had caused it a good deal of damage that if she had some more magical power, then she'd be able to take it down fully.
"Its spotted us..."
Lisanna whispered, seeing the dark eyes of the beast staring right towards them.
Elfman clutches his hand, and looks on with worry seeing that Mirajane was beginning to step out and fight.
"Big sister, you're low on magic! You can't fight it!"
"I have to fight it Elfman, I'm the only one capable of fighting it this time."
Mirajane didn't like her chances, but she liked them better than her siblings chances right now, due to the gap in power that they had.
Lisanna pleaded with Mirajane not to go, but she didn't pay heed, and merely said "While I distract it, go and run away." before Mirajane charged at the beast, summoning her power, and released an orb of darkness in her path, smashing it deep into the enemy, blowing it away to a good degree, but it stomped on the ground, and rushed towards her, swinging its large fist for her body.
Mirajane parried the attack, but winced as she felt pain surge through her, Elfman grit his teeth and his hand clenched super tight, watching on as Mirajane did her best to repel the enemy over and over again, brawling with it with all that she had inside of her.
"Hah! Hah! Hah!"
But Elfman saw that Mirajane was being repelled and being injured, he didn't want to just stand there, and do nothing as she was being hurt, and could be even more worse off, so he took a stand, and rushed forward with the worrying Lisanna looking on.
"Wait, big bro Elf!"
Lisanna yelled out, but Elfman didn't stop and rushed to the beasts side, Mirajane noticed that he was getting close, so she yelled "Elfman, don't!" knowing it could go wrong, but Elfman didn't heed her words, and grappled the beasts body, stopping it from going to Mirajane.
"I'll take you over!"
Elfman used his magic, and began trying to use Take Over Beast Soul on this King of Monsters to stop it from going towards Mirajane or Lisanna either.
Mirajane and Lisanna watched as Elfman began to take on the appearance of the King of Monsters, Lisanna was beginning to smile.
"He...He's doing it!"
Lisanna was sure that it would happen.
However, Mirajane noticed something about Elfman's eyes, that his eyes weren't the same as before. There was little to no humanity in his eyes, and all she saw was pure instinct, and rage.
"No...he wasn't...he wasn't able to handle it..."
Lisanna heard Elfman roar like the King of Monsters, and began going towards them menacingly.
Mirajane jumped back from Elfman trying to take a swing for her, instead he smashed into the ground, as Mirajane landed on said ground, collapsing to her knees due to the pain and magical drain that she felt.
"Mira...Elf...he is...he is..."
"The beasts power...it was too much for Elfman. If he continues like this...then, he wont be able to come back from it, he'll be lost to the beasts power. We have to snap him out of it...damn it Elfman, I said not to..."
Lisanna could see the turmoil on Mirajane's face, and the anguish on Elfman's own, a battle raging inside of Elfman to try and have him come back from this, but the beast was winning the battle of wills, and he wasn't able to break free.
So she began standing up, and rushed before Elfman.
"Lisanna, what are you doing?!"
A worried Mirajane called out.
"Big brother Elf...he needs us now." Lisanna spoke soothingly, turning towards the large beast Elfman. "Elf...its okay, I'm right here. Please, fight and come back to us. I know you're in their somewhere big brother Elf! Please, you have to come back to us, don't let the King of Monsters win!"
Lisanna tried her best to break through to Elfman, speaking to what was left within Elfman and his humanity.
However, Elfman turned towards her, and with no reasoning inside of him, raised his arms, and began moving them towards Lisanna to take her down.
Life flashed before Mirajane's eyes as she saw Elfman in his transformed state swinging for Lisanna, building up speed and power.
"Elfman...Elfman, stop!"
She desperately pleaded for Elfman to stop, not to strike Lisanna.
But in his state, he couldn't respond, he was lost to the King of Monsters.
Mirajane desperately tried rushing over to try and make some sort of difference, to save her sister, but she could see that she would be too late, as it was inches from Lisanna.
Tears formed in her eyes, and Mirajane yelled "Lisannaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!" believing that her sister was about to be severally injured, if not outright killed, and there wasn't anything she could do about it...
Suddenly, moments before Lisanna was going to be hit, a beautiful flash of moonlight shot towards Lisanna, and blocked the incoming strike, with a shockwave breaking through the ground around them.
"G...Genki..."
Relief flooded Mirajane's heart, seeing a panting Genki protecting Lisanna.
"Wendy, let us go."
"Right behind you Carla!"
Carla leapt off of his shoulder, sprouted wings, and grabbed Lisanna, flying her away, as Wendy jumped off of Genki, and rushed towards the dazed Mirajane.
Juvia also stood beside Genki, as he pushed Elfman back with one arm, who let out a large roaring sound.
Mirajane saw Wendy come over, and said "Its okay, I'll help you." while beginning to use her healing magic to do her best on Mirajane's wounds, as Lisanna sat on the ground, exhausted, and in a state of complete shock as she saw that Elfman was literal inches from striking her.
Mirajane was no better, the thoughts of Genki not being able to get there kept running through her mind, the thought of losing both of her siblings if nothing came of it, she truly didn't even know how she was supposed to think right now.
Juvia on the other hand looked at the situation, then towards Elfman, seeing his ferociousness on display.
"Genki-sama, this is someone who is your friend?"
"Yeah...he is..." Genki paused briefly, seeing the pain on Mirajane's face, wishing to take that away, and to help Elfman, he continued. "...We have to stop him...without causing him...if we can help it..." Genki thought for a few moments, forming a plan within his mind. "Juvia-san, you can use your magic to trap people inside of a magical water sphere, right?"
"Yes Genki-sama, shall Juvia do that to this man?"
"Yes, please."
As Genki said it, Elfman reeled back his fist, so the young man pushed his magic, and delivered a sharp kick towards Elfman's chest, sending the beast like Elfman skidding backwards, to the point that his feet dug into the ground.
Then Juvia got to the right hand side of him, and placed her hand out towards him.
"Water Lock!"
Juvia formed a dome of water around Elfman, trapping him fully in the dome.
However, Elfman used his massive strength to bring his arms up towards the water dome, and began smashing the water apart, causing Juvia to gasp at the strength that Elfman had, it was no joke as she saw that parts of her water dome had already begun being broken through.
"Juvia cannot hold it for long Genki-sama!"
Genki nods, and pulls out a golden key.
"Open, Gate of the Ram, Aries!" Using the key, he reveals Aries to the world with his magic feeling that but knew it was necessary, who looks on shyly towards Genki. "Aries-san, could you use your wool to send him into a more relaxed state please? That's what your wool can do, right?"
"Y-Yes, I can do that…!"
Genki thanks her, and watches as Aries place her hands out, and releases her wool into the water. Despite it being water, it held its form, and began wrapping around Elfman's body. The property of the wool managed to begin calming down the rampaging heart of Elfman.
"He's stopped...it could work where now with that wool he will be calmer...but, if he starts up again, I'll have to knock him out. Hopefully it doesn't come to that..."
Genki thought of the best way to connect with Elfman and then came to a good conclusion.
Mirajane watched as Genki approached Elfman, and though he was still struggling with the beasts control, the wool was working and sending him into a more relaxed state, so Genki turned to Mirajane, and gave a nod.
"Mira-san...bring him back. I know your voice...will get through to him now."
Mirajane looked at Elfman, who thanks to Aries's wool, did seem to be more relaxed, so she clutched her shirt, and spoke from her heart.
"Elfman, I know its difficult, but you need to take control now. I know you took it over to protect us, but like this you're endangering us. I know that's the last thing you'd ever want to do, and I know its so hard with that beast influencing your mind. So fight Elfman. Fight as hard as you can, and go back to being the kind Elfman that would protect me and Lisanna, okay? We're waiting for you, Elfman! Come back to us!"
Genki didn't want to harm Elfman, he knew if it came down to it then he'd have to knock Elfman out. But he knew Elfman, and he believed in Elfman to be able to snap out of this, not only for himself, but for the sisters that he cared immensely about, especially since Mirajane was speaking to him from her heart.
Elfman let out a howling sound, but Genki saw Elfman's regular eyes beginning to resurface, so he kept encouraging the younger man together with Mirajane, helping him along with Aries's wool to be able to calm him to the best state possible. And thanks to Juvia, any violent outbursts, were taken care of and everyone remained protected.
Mirajane watched Elfman howl a few more times, before his body began to shrink, and shrink. His human form eventually was able to come back through, with Juvia dropping the dome of water, and Aries's wool disappearing from his form.
Elfman looked up towards Genki, and whispered "Big bro...I...I almost...Lisanna..." as Genki saw some tears began forming in Elfman's eyes, it was clear that he was replaying what had happened in his mind, how he almost went to strike and potentially kill Lisanna, and tried to do the same thing to Mirajane.
"Elfman, we can talk later about what happened, the most important thing is that this is over, and you are back to being you."
"But...I almost...to Lisanna...that beasts power...I actually went to hurt Lisanna...and I also tried to hurt big sis Mira...big bro...what did I...how can I..."
Seeing the emotional turmoil he was going through, Genki took in a deep breath, and spoke in a kind manner.
"It wasn't you Elfman, it was the beast inside of you trying to control you, forcing you to feel like that, and doing things, you wouldn't do normally."
Genki soothed, Mirajane placed a hand over her own mouth, beginning to shed tears, while Elfman gave a saddened expression.
"B-Big bro! I'm so sorry! I failed my sisters! I failed you! I said that I would keep my sisters safe, I promised I wouldn't do anything reckless to you...and yet, yet I was the reason that my sisters...could have died...because I couldn't control my powers...big bro..."
Hearing his pleading words, it caused Genki to feel deeply for Elfman's predicament, his fears coming true at nearly losing the people he loved, and him being the one who could have done it, though Genki knew it wasn't truly Elfman, and that he himself fought as hard as he could to try and control the beast inside.
"Elfman..." Genki showed a compassionate look to his face. "Its alright, lets get you all home, okay?"
Elfman silently cried, while Genki did his best to comfort him the best that he could do.
Then he stood up, and left Elfman in the care of Juvia, as he went to go and check on the others.
He saw Wendy managing to fix a good deal of damage on Mirajane, while Lisanna sat with her knees to her chest, her head resting on her knees, Genki thought she probably was having a little crisis all her own after what had happened.
"Lisanna-san...are you alright?"
Lisanna looked up towards Genki, and showed sad eyes, so he went over, and placed his hand on top of her head, giving a gentle pat, Lisanna looked up at him, showing her sad gaze towards him.
"Genki-kun...it wasn't supposed to be like this...it was supposed to be...a simple mission, a single monster...and now...now...Elf, and Mira too..."
"Its okay Lisanna-san, you're all safe now."
He continued to comfort her, while Mirajane looked down at the ground.
She couldn't wrap her head around this, it was so much, she kept thinking of what could have happened. How she was mere moments from losing her little sister, and Elfman being distraught with guilt within him, about how he could have been involved in such a thing, and how she was powerless to stop it.
She cursed herself for being unable to prevent this.
That was until she saw Genki with sweat dripping off of him, bringing concern to her.
"He didn't stop for even a moment." Wendy revealed to Mirajane who turned towards her with wide eyes. "He continuously pushed his energies while sharing his magic and power with Lisanna-san along with trying to contact anyone that could be nearby here to come, unfortunately because its so far out no one else was around...and while bringing us all here, he kept doing his best to keep other enemies away with his Thought Projection. He was really concerned about you and the others, Mirajane-san."
Mirajane lowered her eyes as Genki came over towards her.
"Mira..."
Genki called out, but when he saw her eyes go towards him, he knew something had changed.
Though they were alive...Mirajane had gone through a lot on this mission.
The what ifs ran through her mind, and the situations that went on, she didn't know what to do, and she ended up falling her head against his chest, Genki caught her, and gently held her as she let out tears of relief and pain at the same time.
"Mira-san, its alright..."
Genki soothingly ran his hand through her hair, allowing her to do what she needed to at that moment.
"Genki..." Mirajane let out a quiet voice. "...Thank you for coming. If you hadn't, then Lisanna...and Elfman..."
"Of course, I will always come to you, Mira-san. The important thing is, it didn't happen." Mirajane gave a gentle smile, mixed with a pained one, so Genki soothingly stroked the back of her head. "...Lets go home, okay? We can talk more there. For now, you all could do with some rest."
"Yes...you're right, lets go home...together."
Gently held her close while the others began making preparations to leave the area.
Because of what happened, the mission having been something that was rather traumatic, and also near life changing, Mirajane and the other Strauss Siblings were beginning to rethink about what had truly happened, and had so many thoughts going on through all of their heads, thoughts that they'd have to work through.
Though the most important thing was, that Lisanna, Mirajane and Elfman were safe.

So, this chapter dealt with what happened with Mirajane and the others, showing the struggles that they went through and how far each member of the Strauss siblings went, Mirajane pushing herself so hard, fighting so many enemies, and dealing with an incredible threat.
Genki in turn had a conversation with Loke about various things, along with Loke having a proper time with Aries now that she had agreed to stay with Genki, Juvia decided to follow Genki, and now is going to be joining Fairy Tail. When not being able to get in contact with Mirajane, Genki rushed to their side with the others, and helped calm down Elfman together with Mirajane after he tried to do a full body take over of the King of Monsters, averting disaster, though it seems that the mission had a good impact on all Strauss siblings, and we will see how they deal with it next chapter.
