Wow. I don't why. I had Jesse's Girl stuck in my head and I suddenly thought, "Hey! Joanne's Girl fits!" and then it wouldn't go away. I wrote it down, then sort of liked it. So I posted it. There are certain parts that I'm not quite sure fit. I haven't listened to the song completely in a little while. Anyway, this is Mark's version of Jesse's Girl. I think he made it up sometime in-between Over the Moon and La Vie Boheme. Yeah. Let's go with that. Sung to the tune of "Jesse's Girl" by Rick Springfield, obviously.
Disclaimer: I do not own Jesse's Girl or RENT. Those belong to Rick Springfield and Jonathan Larson, respectively.
Joanne is a friend
Yeah, Joanne's now a good friend of mine
But that's related to a common design
Joanne's got herself a girl who used to be mine
And she's watching her with those eyes
And she's lovin her with that body, I just know it
And she's holding her in her arms late, late at night.
You know I wish that I had Joanne's girl
I wish that I had Joanne's girl
I still love that woman real bad
I dance along with her tango
There is always a new step to learn
You know, I feel so lonely when they start asking for a moo
I wanna tell her that I love her but I'm way overdue
Cause she's watchin her with those eyes
And she's lovin her with that body, I just know it
And she's holding her in her arms late, late at night
You know I wish that I had Joanne's girl
I wish that I had Joanne's girl
I once had a woman like that
Like Joanne's girl
I used to have Joanne's girl
I still love that woman
I still love that woman real bad
And I'm looking in the mirror all the time
Wonderin what she stopped seein in me
Then I realize I'm a guy and I really want to cry
Is this how exes are supposed to be?
Tell me, what can I do without my woman like that?
You know I wish that I had Joanne's girl
I wish that I had Joanne's girl
I miss Joanne's girl
I once had a woman like that
Like Joanne's girl
I wish that I had Joanne's girl
I want, I want Joanne's girl
Yeah, I'm crazy. Sorry!
