Yuki sat at the kitchen table eating instant ramen.
The clock stuck 2, and Yuki looked up from his ramen and gasped.
Tohru was coming home at 3:00! He had to prepare!
Yuki rushed upstairs and took a bath, put on his nicest clothes and rushed back down stairs.
He cleaned up the dining room and set the table.
Shigure had taken Kyo to and anger management lesson, and are not expected home until 5.
Tohru began walking down the rocky path.
"That was a nice day with Ou and Hana. I've had so much to do; we don't get to hang out often."
She sighed seeing the house in view.
"I hope everyone got something to eat."
Yuki went into the kitchen and brought a cake, some tarts, and tea into the dining room and carefully arranged them on the table.
He lit some candles and turned down the lights.
Tohru then made it to the door, sliding it open she smiled.
"Yuki, Shigure, Kyo! I'm home!" She wasn't aware Kyo and Shigure were out.
"Did everyone get something to eat?" She asked the worry on her mind. She didn't like going out knowing the guys may not get anything to eat.
"I had some ramen, and I think Shigure and Kyo are at anger management. Tohru- why don't you go clean up and meet me in the dining room. I have a surprise for you."
Tohru was slightly surprised to hear only Yuki's voice. A surprise? But I've already gotten enough surprises.
She was getting nervous. "O-okay." She said making her way upstairs to her room. She changed out of her skirt and shirt and put on her pink dress. She went back down the stairs and towards the dining room. Opening the door she was amazed at what she saw.
"Wow!
"It has been one year since you moved in. I thought it would be nice to have a little treat to celebrate. Sit down. I'll pour you some tea." Yuki said gesturing towards the candle-lit table.
Tohru was so amazed, she was lost for words. She was also beginning to get nervous. Just recently she's been treated like the princess not having to do anything and she wasn't use to it. She nervously sat down as Yuki poured her some tea.
"T-T-Thank you."
Yuki poured himself some tea and took a small sip. He looked up at Tohru. Her eyes were glistening.
He broke his gaze and reached for a tart.
"Tohru, you know what it would be like without you here." He said looking into her eyes again.
Tohru jumped slightly, the way he was acting was making her even more nervous. She also took a tart, nibbled on it.
Trying not to look nervous she shook her head. "N-N-No."
"Really? Well let's say that I wouldn't be able to sit in this chair. You saw the house when you moved in. Cake?"
"What? Chair? Who? Cake?" She was getting confused.
"Uh, um... sure." She was slowly beginning to calm down. It was just Yuki. It's probably the fact that he did all this for me, she thought.
Yuki laughed and cut them both a slice of cake. He sniffed it before he gave it to Tohru, making sure he followed the instructions right and it wasn't rancid.
She doesn't seem to be enjoying this, he thought, maybe she's just in shock be my surprise.
Good god! She looks beautiful! Yuki noticed as she reached down to pick up her fork that had just fallen.
"Um, T-Thanks Yuki." She stuttered. She took a deep breath then she felt more relaxed.
She took a bite of the cake and smiled. "Yuki did you make this?" She knew Yuki wasn't a cook and liked to burn things.
"Does it taste bad? Cause I thought it looked funny. I'm sorry, I didn't think the milk was sour…" he rambled on.
Yuki was now getting nervous himself, still surprised by her beauty.
Tohru finished her cake and smiled. "It was good, compared to what I've heard about your cooking." She then paused taking her plate. "I better clean up the kitchen." She said "Excuse me." She then stood up making her way to the kitchen.
"Wait," said Yuki grabbing her arm as she walked past him.
