Preview: Conflicting Ideals

"Ahahahahahaha."

The members of the Justice League felt a chill run up their spins as they saw the young man, teen, as he laughed at Batman's demands to hand over his weapons. Personally, Flash believed the teen deserved a metal for not only laughing at Bruce but doing it to his face.

THAT took some guts.

It took a couple of seconds before the teen stopped and Batman opened his mouth agai-

"AHAHAHAAHAAHAHAHAHA!"

Only to let out a wordless growl, as the boy once again nearly doubled over laughing even harder than before, slapping his hand on his knees. Olga and the Servants stayed silent, allowing their leader to handle this, as the teen, still laughing wiped a tear from his eye, chuckling as he walked to Batman. Once he got close enough, still chuckling, slowly slapped Batman's cheek, making the Justice League members go wide eyes. Was Bruce really just letting this happen?

"Hehehe, yo-you are a really funny guy Bats or living in a fantasy world, because there is no way in HELL i am giving you ANY of my weapons." Just like that, the air went from friendly and jolly, too cold in tense, as Xero's face shifted from friendly to scowling.

"Now hang on, Batman didn-" Superman tried to interview, but Xero held his hand up, silencing the large hero.

"Look, i get it and i will follow your rules to a certain extent. It's your world, your city, your rules." Hope being to fill the JL members' hearts, "But if any of those dare to attack me, members of my crew or anyone i employ at Chaldea or are a member of Chaldea will get NO MECRY from me." And just like that, they were dashed with a little lite being filled with the boy's words.

"Is there-"

"It's either that or nothing." Olga interrupted Diana, crossing her arms over her chest, "Take it or leave it. Our job, Chaldea' mission is to protect humanity from ALL threats, foreign or domestic, human or alien, hero or villain, it does not matter. You may not like it but we were sent to this world for a reason and clearly, it has something to do with all these villains and monsters running around and whether they are destined

too or trying to destroy the world, if you do what is necessary, then WE will."

"And who gave you the right to choose who lives or who dies? Batman growled, as Xero spoke in a very simple tone.

"The fools who decide it was okay to hurt and kill innocent people, possible just for kicks. If one kills, then they themselves should be prepared for the possibility to BE killed. I won't go around killing ever villain or criminal that steals cash for dumbass reasons but i WILL kill those who kill for nothing else, other than for the sake of killing. I won't deny some of these people really, truly do need help and i personally respect that you all can hold back, when some of these people have done nothing to deserve the mercy you grant them."

"Maybe but that doesn't give us the right to kill anyone we want." Supergirl said in a firm tone, "That's not justice, it's revenge and it would make us just as guilty."

"Perhaps." Xero said, knowing full well that what the path of revenge did to a person, "But just because something is just or is the law, doesn't make it right." the young blonde had no response to that, as Xero put on the pressure, "Nor does the law always work, as sometimes the law is bended to allow the criminal to get away too boot and not ever person arrested is guilty, are they? Sometimes the justice system makes mistakes and even steals an innocent person's life away, all because of a stupid technically that is only enforced, because if the system allows an INNOCENT person to walk, all those guilty get to walk on the same principle. All because the justice system can't be seen as weak, least that fragile stability that the justice system is built upon would all come crumbling down, simply because they did the right thing. And do i even need to bring up the fact that the so called 'asylum' not only don't work but make things so much worse?"

None of them said anything, as Xero brought up several good points, as the boy leaned against the wall, taking out one of his personal made cigarettes and lite it with his finger, taking a puff of it, before speaking, "And what about the so called 'villains' who are only Villans because they are declared that by the very government that is supposed to uphold 'law & order' or hell, what about the many people who are used by them or Cadmus or want help but get none and are villains because of certain events? You talk of upholding justice for all but what about those kinds of criminals? Like Barbara, Mary Louise Dahl, like Victor or hell, what about Claire? Where is the JUSTICE for THEM? What do monsters like Luthor, and Joker get as many free passes as possible, while they don't?"

No one said anything, what could they say?
