Dedicated to naash for her wonderful story
My Facade
I see a rose, hidden in years of fright
Petals of blood, fallen through the night
Of love, of joy, of sorrow, of life
Reflections of my empyrean light
Translucent but firm, a finger locks
Grasps the fragile and lovely, but lost
And in the distance, forgotten ghosts mock
They'll stay silent; words preserved in frost
As you do see; a tragedy has been
I see a lament for those have gone
An elegy blanketed by velvet sheen
A façade imprinted in opulent song
Shattered is the mask I wore
And my dream is chained to its grave
All I wanted, for one bird to soar
Now, no one to protest; there's none left to save
I'll see you again, another moonlit time
Glowing enchanted by ethereal beam
I'll watch you as my death knell chimes
Redemption than to perish in impossible dream
Yes, I know that it is confusing and seems not to make sense. Look closer and maybe you'll see the meaning. Also, doesn't let single spacing so the poem looks...awkward?
This was inspired by the story "My Facade" by naash, which you can find under my favorites. Suggested read- great story! (Especially for all those NejiTen fans!) It'll help you understand the poem more.
