At the dawn of a new day, Astrid was taking over patrol for Heather, Elsa, and Hiccup on the neighboring islands as they were still teaching the others to ride their dragons. Elsa got out of it yesterday, but now she was making up for it and teaching the twins not to set Olaf on fire. She was still getting the feeling of riding her dragon, but she was becoming a quick natural on this.

"Whoo!" Astrid cheered as they sheared through the trees of the forest and took a moment to rest by the river. "This was incredible. I can't believe that Hiccup and Elsa were the first to discover how amazing this is." She then leaned back against Stormfly as she scratched her chin. "We should make these morning flights our own thing."

Stormfly chirped in response.

But then they noticed something and looked into the air where they saw that there was a group of a dozen dragons flying away. Astrid became curious as to what that was about sad climbed back onto Stormfly and took off to find out what was going on.

On the beach, a handful of ships that were never there before have suddenly taken port. She was wondering what they were doing here and landed in a hidden area behind boulders, as she got a close look, she saw the flag their ships were waving.

The cloth had a dragon with a sword coming up its tail and an arrow going through its head. She immediately got the impression that these men were Dragon Hunters.

"Dragon Hunters? Here?" Astrid asks in worry, noticing that's what they must be. "Come on, girl, let's get a closer look."

Stormfly then flew off and landed near the rock formation to closely examine the cages. That's when they noticed the cages were made of some strange steel she's never seen before. One cage was carrying a Monstrous Nightmare, they could hear the creature whimpering in fear of the cage.

"Quiet down, you useless lizard." One of the Hunters tells the Nightmare and banged his weapon against the cage.

Astrid couldn't believe this time last year she wouldn't have had a problem with this. But here and now, she was fueled with anger towards that man. He kept bagging his mace against the cage when a familiar someone much bigger comes in and slams his head against the cage.

"Just load 'me up," Ryker warns the smaller Hunter.

"Yes, Ryker. Sorry, Ryker." The Hunter quickly apologized in fear.

"Look at him," Ryker says to the Hunter as he kept pushing his head against the bars. "Powerful. Perfect. Remember, they're smarter than you."

Nightmare goes to bite his head when Ryker throws his man before he could get bit.

"But not me." Ryker proudly announced before he started to suddenly sniff the air.

Looking around the area, he started to walk toward where Astrid and Stormfly were hiding. She was trying to hide against the rocks, but she was just confused when she saw he somehow knew where to find her.

"And grab that Nadder!" Ryker demanded.

Astrid was shocked that this man was somehow capable of knowing the kind of dragon she was riding without seeing it. But she didn't waste any time as she jumped back onto Stormfly and took off. The other Hunters stopped readying their weapons when they saw that there was a rider on the Nadder.

"Get us out of here, Stormfly!" Astrid tells her dragon, not wanting to deal with these guys without the rest of the teens.

"Archers!" Ryker calls out to the others.

Archers came out with some strange green pointed arrows at them. Astrid didn't even need to react when Stormfly took control of her and dodged them. Stormfly flew over the ocean and got some distance out of the

"Come on, girl, we gotta get Hiccup," Astrid said, seeing they are trained for these situations. And if they discovered the Edge nearby, things could get worse.

Ryker almost seemed to notice the next move as Stormfly quickly shot spikes out of her tail at them. Ryker didn't flinch as the spikes hit the ground and scared a few Hunters. Ryker took an arrow and shot it, ending up shooting Stormfly in the stomach.

Astrid immediately started to lose control of Stormfly as she started to fall from the sky. Ryker smiled as he saw that his work was done and handed the Hunter back his bow.

"When a Nadder shoots its spikes, it always leaves its belly exposed," Ryker said as they watched the Nadder fall.

Astrid ended up slipping off Stormfly's back and falling into the ocean. But Stormfly didn't crash alongside her, instead, she ended up getting captured by some chains that were resistant to dragon attacks. They rolled and wrapped Stormfly up as Astrid grabbed a piece of log to hold onto.

"Sir, what about the Rider?" One of them asks Ryker as he was helping with the Nadder.

"Leave her, we have the dragon." Ryker declared, seeing that this wasn't the Ice Princess. "We need to focus on something more. The Ice Princess."

The boat started to get out of the island vicinity whilst Astrid catches onto the wood, trying to keep herself afloat. She then looked and noticed that the boat was starting to drift off and knew her dragon was kidnapped.

"Stormfly!" Astrid cried as she started to cough up the water. "I'll find you!"

As the sun began to set on the Edge, Hiccup was looking out over the balcony as a storm began to rise in. Astrid hasn't been back all day, and they never really took notice until recently. They were mostly too busy trying to train the other kids with their dragons and never realized it.

"Still nothing?" Heather asked as she came up to his side.

"Yeah, I'm starting to worry something might've happened to her." Hiccup admitted.

"Well, if she's out there somewhere, Elsa will find her," Heather assured him since they already sent Elsa out there to help find her.

Elsa was flying through the air and was starting to wear a mixture of her snowsuit and her dragon's scales. Luna had started to shed, and Hiccup started wearing the scales from Toothless as clothes and armor, so she also started to do the same with Luna. Her dream has been to drive herself crazy with that stupid piece of cloth that she found in her bag.

"I-I mean, it's not possible," Elsa stated, believing that cloth somehow meant that she wasn't born on Berk. "I mean, my whole life is on Berk!"

Luna looked up to her rider with a confused look after that statement.

"Used to be!" Elsa corrected herself. "Used to be on Berk."

Luna seemed happy by that correction and turned back to the skies to search for the missing dragon or rider.

"But... if it was true, how would I not remember that?" Elsa asks, feeling she should remember something like that. "Stoick said he knew my parents. They were kind. They loved me. And they died in a dragon attack, like many unfortunate people." But that's when she started to finally see holes in that story. "Yet again... nobody ever really talked about them. In fact, I don't even know where their house once stood. I don't even know what they did around the village. Stoick and Gobber..." She then started to become worried. "Oh, Thor..."

But before she could start to panic when she put the pieces together, she suddenly got interrupted by Luna. Her dragon screeched and Elsa noticed a figure on a log in the middle of the storm.

"Astrid!" Elsa finally found her, and Luna dived after Astrid. She then dived into the water as Astrid went under. Diving down underneath the water, she quickly grabbed ahold of the Viking. She quickly got the two of them out of the water with help of Luna. "Astrid!"

Astrid shuttered from the cold and sighed when she saw she was rescued. "What took you?"

Elsa then saw they needed to get her back to the Edge quickly. "Come on, Luna."

A while later, Astrid wakes up and sees she's in the healing hut and saw the rest of the group watching over her. But then the memories flooded back as to what happened.

"Stormfly!" Astrid cried as she jumped up.

"Hey, it's okay. Just try to relax. You've had a tough night." Hiccup told her.

"What happened out there?" Heather was worried.

"Dragon Hunters," Astrid informed them, causing the group to look shocked. "I saw them. The dragons were all in cages. And they have Stormfly. And then there's this big, ugly one. When I get my hands on him..."

"And... welcome back." Fishlegs was happy to say she was at least battle ready.

"Come on, let's mount up!" Astrid said as she raced off and went down the ladder. "Stormfly!"

That's when she then remembers she doesn't have a dragon and crawled back. She gave a sad look to the others waiting for a ride.

"Come on, you can ride with me." Elsa offered.

"Olaf, you and Bruni stay on the Edge." Hiccup tells the snowman before running to get Toothless.

They and everyone else make it to the beach and find everything they left but it isn't a lot to go off of.

"Anything?" Astrid asks them.

"Nothing but a bunch of trash," Tuffnut tells them.

"Looks like these Dragon Hunters are also litterbugs," Ruffnut adds on.

"There should be a fine for that. I mean, am I wrong, people? I mean, what if everyone were this careless and inconsistent? What then? Where would we be then?" Tuffnut asks.

"Here, but without your mouth going," Elsa replies to that.

Luna ended up laughing at that comment.

"I knew coming here was a bad idea." Snotlout says as he looks through an empty chest. "What did we hope to find anyway?" He asks when something stabs his foot, and he screams in pain. "Ah! Something bit me! I'm allergic to sand crabs!"

Astrid walks over to him and looks at what he stepped on.

"Oh, look at you. Rushed right over to help, didn't you?" Snotlout asks her. "You know what that means, Astrid."

Astrid ignores him and picks it out of his foot, causing Snotlout to cry in pain. "This is a dragon hunter arrow. Stormfly was hit with one of these before she went down. She's never been that out of control before."

Fishlegs looks at it before smelling and tasting it.

"If I had to make a guess, it's some sort of refined dragon root," Fishlegs tells them.

"And that means...?" Heather was waiting for him to explain.

"I've heard that at high concentrations, it can overwhelm a dragon's senses completely, making it almost impossible for them to fly." Fishlegs explain to them.

"That's exactly what happened to Stormfly." Astrid was starting to worry about her dragon.

"Think about it. Just one quiver if these arrows could decimate an entire flock of dragons." Fishlegs tells them and Hiccup takes the arrowhead.

"Then that settles it, we need to find a way to stop them. And I think we all know the first place to look." Hiccup tells them and shows the dragon root arrow had a familiar symbol on it.

The Reaper.

They go to the Reaper, where they first found the Dragon Eye and where the Hunters must've gotten their gear. Hiccup, Elsa, and Astrid went below as Heather and the others worked from above.

"All right, look for anything that can help us track the Dragon Hunters. Maps. Coordinates. Hidden compartments." Heather tells them as she was looking around herself.

The twins were looking and all they find are dragon bones and empty boxes. Seems that the Dragon Hunters already found their way here and looted the whole place. It's been a while, meaning the ice Elsa left behind melted and they must've gotten around the eels somehow. Repeating the action, Elsa froze the water surrounding the boat so that the dragons don't get spooked.

"There's nothing here. Someone totally looted this boat." Tuffnut states.

"This ship gives me the creeps," Ruffnut replies.

"Sunken ships, Dragon Hunters, the creeps. I bet this thing is crawling with ghosts, and other such spirits planning on dragging us down to the dark Viking underworld where they will torture us by tickling us for eternity!" Tuffnut says while using his sister as a shield.

"Niflheim?" Ruffnut asks her twin.

"Gesundheit." Tuffnut replies.

"Can we focus, people?" Heather asks them.

"Niflheim? I knew coming here was a bad idea." Snotlout states as he as well starts getting afraid. "What did we hope to find anyway?"

Snotlout kicks the helm, causing something to go off as the floor beneath him broke. He cried out and they look to see him stuck with a bunch of empty boxes and barrels.

"Get me out of here!" Snotlout cried out.

"What if that's what the ghost wants us to do?" Tuffnut asks him.

"Tuffnut!" Snotlout cries out in anger.

Inside the ship, Hiccup and Astrid are looking around the captain's quarters for anything to help as Elsa was searching through another portion.

"There's nothing here!" Astrid was starting to grow frustrated.

"Keep calm, we'll find something." Hiccup tried to calm her down.

"What if we don't? What if we never find them?" Astrid asks him. "I'm-"

"Hey, I understand. I know." Hiccup understood why she was so worried.

"You just didn't see him. He actually enjoys hunting and caging dragons." Astrid says as she was growing angrier and clutched her axe. "And he has mine!"

Astrid then flung her axe into a shield that was on the wall.

"Hey, I get it." Hiccup said, but a small smile sneaked on his face.

"What are you smiling about?" Astrid asks him.

"Nothing. It's just... I never thought I'd ever see you this worried for a dragon." Hiccup explained why he was happy.

Astrid sighed and knew what he was saying. "Yeah. A lot has changed since those days, huh?"

"Has it?" Hiccup asks as they heard the others rummaging upstairs.

"Well... you certainly have," Astrid explained and looked at Hiccup. "You're not that scrawny kid who always screwed up anymore."

"Yeah. I guess I have." Hiccup had to admit as he looked himself over. But then he looked to Astrid with a stern look. "But I'm still the same guy you all bullied for being different."

Astrid saw that was a slight jab at her and nodded. "That was fair."

Then she went to get her axe out from the shield. But when she did, something came falling out of the shield and Hiccup quickly noticed it was a Dragon Eye lens.

"Dragon Eye lenses." Hiccup was shocked to see.

"Dragon what?" Astrid and the others have never been shown the Dragon Eye before.

They brought their discovery to the others, and the group showed the others the Dragon Eye for the first time. Hiccup then tried it on their dragons, but none of them were capable of lighting the lenses.

"Well, it's none of our dragons," Elsa said in worry.

While they did that, Tuffnut looks at the shield they took the lens from.

"Yep. It's either the inside of a yak or a Changewing in a cage." Tuffnut says and they take a closer look at it and see he's right.

"Tuffnut, you're a genius!" Heather tells him.

"I am?" Tuffnut asks.

"Looks like we're heading for Changewing Island." Hiccup proclaimed as he held onto the lens.

They flew over the oceans and made their way to the island filled with vicious Changewings. Due got their capabilities to blend in with their environment, it wasn't going to be easy to catch them.

"Changewing Island. Such a beautiful place." Fishlegs comments as he looked around before slumming. "Except for all of the Changewings."

"Okay, guys, we need to find some Changewing acid to shine through the Dragon Eye so we can see what's on the lens." Hiccup tells them.

"And how do you suppose that we find the dragons who have the ability to blend in perfectly with their environment?" Snotlout asks as he and Hookfang land.

"Au contrate," Tuffnut said as he suddenly showed up covered in green face paint. "If one wishes to find a Changewing, one must become a Changewing!"

"When did he get that on?" Heather wonders. "I didn't see him get that on."

Tuffnut then ran over to a pile of bushes and leaped off the side. That ended with them watching as Tuff fell down the cliff on the other side. They winced when they heard him grunt and groan on his way down.

"Thorns! Brambles!" Tuffnut cried. "Blackberries!"

After picking him back up, they decided to go with the one thing that they knew the Changewing needed to do. The same as every other dragon, they needed to drink. They went to the watering hole and started to wait it out.

When they waited, Snotlout was becoming quickly irritated. "How long are we going to sit here and wait? How do we know there isn't a Changewing standing right there? Or there? They're invisible, remember? Oh, and did I mention, this is a terrible idea?"

Hookfang snorted out a small flame that ended up setting the bush in front of them on fire. Trying to put it out, Hookfang just ended up causing a larger fire. Snotlout took the portion of the bush that he lit on fire and tossed it aside.

Just as they were about to give up, they noticed a Changewing come out and make its way to the water. Hiccup quietly gestured for them to follow so they could finish the job. They started to make their way over to the Changewing from behind when Tuffnut jumped ahead.

"Hey! You guys get any luck?" Tuffnut asked them.

The Changewing then heard that and took notice before taking off.

"Tuff!" Astrid cried in anger.

But that's when they noticed that the Changewing was actually stuck to the tree with a rope around its neck. "What?"

Tuffnut then showed a smile on his face. "Become the Changewing."

And the Changewing then started to shoot acid to try and get the rope off of it. The acid was spewed and a chunk of it landed just in front of their feet as they backed away to avoid it. Snotlout however wasn't as lucky when a small dabble of it landed on his head. He cried in pain and fear as the Changewing broke free of the rope and managed to escape.

But it didn't matter to them anymore as they got what they needed. It just happened to have landed on Snotlout's helmet.

Snotlout cried as the Changewings acid was left on his helmet and they got to work lighting the Dragon Eye. They moved to a cave so that they could get a good look at what the lens was trying to tell them.

"Snotlout, hold still." Hiccup tells him.

"Easy for you to say. You don't have Changewing acid burning through your skull!" Snotlout cried out.

"Oh, calm down, it has an inch of ice to burn through first," Elsa stated, already using her magic to put some ice to protect his skull.

Fishlegs gets to work translating what it says and finds nothing they don't already know. "This doesn't help. We've seen this map before."

"Then it must be a Hunter port. It's the closest to the beach where Stormfly was taken." Hiccup tells him. "Odds are, that's where they're headed. After that, who knows?"

"Then we need to stop them," Heather states, hating the idea of the dragons in cages, let alone one of their own.

"Then let's hurry!" Snotlout cried as he flung the helmet off his head.

"But how are we going to avoid those dragon root arrows?" Fishlegs asks.

"Funny you should ask, Fishlegs. For the plan to work, someone's gonna have to get shot." Hiccup tells him.

Since Gronckles don't get affected by dragon root, as they've found in their studies, they were going to use Fishlegs and Meatlug as bait.

Once they flew over where the Dragon Hunters were located, Hiccup flew around their ships with Toothless screeching as they did so. Astrid was flying on his back to help with their plan as Luna and Elsa needed to be alone to pull it off.

"I'm here for my dragon!" Astrid cried out.

"A Night Fury?!" Ryker asks, whole happy as can be as the other dragons come in and start having them shoot at them. "Fire!"

Windshear comes flying in and strikes their weapons while at it stopping Toothless from getting hit.

"You are sure this plan is gonna work?" Heather asks him.

"Fishlegs, you're up," Hiccup says and Fishlegs goes in and spews lava before getting fired at.

And as they were doing so, dragon root arrows were being shot at them. Acting as if one of them hit them accidentally, Fishlegs and Meatlug plummet and are captured by the enemy.

"We're hit!" Fishlegs was acting like they were taken down.

"They got Fishlegs and Meatlug," Astrid tells them.

"Take 'em below and toss 'em in a cell!" Ryker tells them and his men drag them both away.

Hiccup comes flying back in and blasts behind Ryker, playing his part of the plan out. While they were distracted by Toothless, Luna (who was invisible) was able to sneak on board.

Ryker was focusing so much on the Night Fury; he didn't even realize the Snow Princess was making her way around. Fishlegs was meant to be the distraction to get her inside. Now she was in, she could get them and Stormfly out of here.

Hiccup goes to turn around when they release a catapult bolder at them and Toothless dives. But that ends with the two riders being flung around. As they gained control, Astrid was flung off of Toothless and sent plummeting.

"Astrid!" Hiccup cried as he flew in to try and catch her.

But as they got close enough, Astrid was caught by dragon-proof chains and pulled in close. The twins were trying to dodge the arrows, but they were not the best coordinated and ended up getting hit.

Toothless couldn't keep going as the arrows were starting to come into range. A few of them were about to hit Hiccup when Windshear flew in, and Heather ended up taking one in the shoulder.

One pierced Heather causing her to lose her grip on Windshear and fell onto the Dragon Hunter's boat. One of the arrows also ended up hitting a weak spot on her stomach and took Windshear down.

"Heather! Windshear!" Hiccup cried when he saw the two of them go down.

Down below, Elsa and Luna made themselves known as they took down the guards with their powers. Elsa shoots a few of them with ice and Luna takes them down stealthily with her capability to go invisible.

"Elsa!" Fishlegs was happy to see her.

"Nice acting out there," Elsa said as she grabbed the keys.

"Aw, thanks." Fishlegs blushed at the compliment.

"I was talking to Meatlug," Elsa stated as she gestured to the dragon. She then opened the door and walked over to Stormfly's cell. "Hey, girl."

Stormfly chirped in glee to see her there. One of the guards was getting back up and was trying to run at them when she blasted them with ice. The Hunter looked in shock at what she did and whimpered.

"It's you!" The Hunter whimpered.

Elsa then opened the cell to Stormfly when she looked over to the Hunter. "What?"

"You. The Ice Princess." The Hunter explained further.

Elsa only became more lost when she listened to him and walked over to him. "How do you know me?"

The Hunter then went from fearful to confused. "You don't remember?"

"Remember what?" Elsa asked as she grabbed him by the head. "What!?"

"The cries of your people." The Hunter stated to her. "You really don't remember?"

Elsa was just getting sick of this and punched him in the face. She didn't have time to deal with this, the others were counting on her.

Back outside, Heather was dragged onto the boat. But she wasn't coming quietly as she tried to fight back.

"Let go of me!" Heather demanded as she tried to break free.

"Ooh, feisty one," Ryker commented. "Take her down below. I want to know what these dragon riders know of the others."

Heather stopped when she heard that and became curious. "Others? What?"

And as Ryker turned to face the girl, he watched as the doors were being frozen over. He then gasped as he knew exactly who was causing that. The doors burst open, and Elsa came running out and shooting ice. Ryker stabbed the wood to keep his ground as the other Hunters ended up slipping.

"You!" Ryker called out.

"Does everyone know me on this Thor-forsaken boat!?" Elsa was getting sick of this.

Luna was back to being invisible and kept herself hidden. As they were starting to try and escape. That's when Ryker sent bolas went off and wrapped their dragons and Elsa up.

"No!" Hiccup saw the whole gang was being taken down.

Snotlout was the only one still on the air, but it didn't take long for Hookfang to be taken down by an arrow. Hiccup and Toothless then flew down and grabbed the dragon before he could fall into their clutches.

"Hiccup! We've got to get out of here!" Snotlout cried as he got the arrow out of the dragon.

Hiccup looked down at them, seeing Elsa can't use her powers to escape thanks to the dragon proofing. But that's when Luna flew from the decks and grabbed Elsa.

Well, that was one problem taken care of. But then he looked down at the other Dragon Riders and Heather. But he noticed her face was telling him to run. They would only end up getting captured too and needed time to regroup and come up with a plan.

Hiccup decided to just listen and the three of them make their escape. Elsa got herself free of the bolas and got onto Luna's back.

They flew off as the Dragon Hunters threw the rest of them down below into a cage. This was something that they knew they weren't going to escape easily.

But Heather knew that there were a few other things she needed to learn about while she was here.

There are other Dragon Riders?
