Sitting on the old black couch, Izuku shifted to keep the springs from digging into his butt. The music was loud, but he was used to it by now and today it was amazingly decent, Kiri was getting really good. His mom had bought him a new guitar and he'd obviously been practicing, together with Kacchan, they were sounding like a real band. Izuku watched as the blonde played the drums, sitting here was the highlight of his day. The new bassist missed a chord and they stopped.
"Shit, sorry." Denki shook his head, "I always fuck up that section."
Katsuki stretched, "it's fine Dunce Head." He stood up, "we've been playing forever, we should break for a while."
"Oh fuck, it's late, shit, we gotta go," Kiri took the guitar off his neck.
"It's Sunday night, where the fuck you going?" Katsuki walked outside the garage door trying to get cool.
"We've got that party at Momo's remember?" Kiri slung his guitar case over his shoulder, "I'm going to shower, see you there."
"Yeah, whatever."
"Not whatever, you gotta go man, summers are for fucking partying." Katsuki shrugged. Kiri rolled his eyes, "seriously?" He turned to Midoriya, "Zu help me!"
"Don't rope him in Shitty Hair, if I go it's my fucking decision."
"What else you doin'?"
Katsuki cast a quick glance at the nerd sitting on the couch. "Nothin'," he mumbled.
Snorting Kiri headed out of the garage. "Sounds like fucking fun." Turning he walked backwards down the driveway. "It'll be great, bring Zu too, Momo said anyone could come." Spinning back around he took off down the street.
Watching the red-head walk away, Katsuki sighed, "I'm gonna take a shower." He looked at the greenette on the couch, a painful twisting lanced in his gut, fuck, he didn't want to tell him. "I guess I'll go to the party, you wanna go?"
"Um," fear burst through Izuku, he wanted to stay with Kacchan but a party? With his friends? They were two years older and he only knew Kiri, he swallowed hard.
"Don't stress it," Katsuki ran his hand through his spikes. "Look if you're not going, I wanted to tell you something."
"I'll go," Izuku jumped up. "I'd love to go," he forced a smile on his face.
"You sure?"
"Yeah, I'm sure," Izuku nodded.
"Fuck, alright, I'll be back out in a bit," Katsuki went into his house.
Izuku sank back down on the broken couch, he took a deep breath. Kacchan had been acting strange all week, twice he'd tried to talk to him but stopped. His heart raced, was he finally going to tell him to stop coming over? He'd told him to buzz off over the years, but he'd never really meant it, at least Izuku didn't think so, they never stopped hanging out. He chewed on his thumbnail, what would he do if he told him to stop coming over? They'd been together since the day he'd first seen him, it was right after his fourth birthday. Kacchan had been chasing something, yelling, behind his back yard. Izuku had crept out of his gate and sat timidly watching him smack a bush with a pole. The kid with spiky blonde hair and a very loud mouth had turned around, red eyes staring right at him. A huge grin cutting across his face, he stormed up to him, grabbed his hand and commanded that he help him get a rabbit. Given no other choice, Izuku had held his hand tight and raced bravely behind him. Letting the memory wash over him, he let out a long breath. Getting up and sitting behind the beat-up drum set, he tapped on the large drum with a stick, nine years later he was still following him. Izuku laughed to himself, Kacchan was everything he wasn't, brave, confident and cocky. He'd only become more mouthy and brash as they got older, but he knew that was just his style, his way of keeping the world away. Outside of himself, he doubted many knew Kacchan since he refused to talk about his life and hated anyone trying to get close. Izuku spun around on the stool. When Kacchan had started the band two years ago, he'd been worried they wouldn't spend any more time together, but instead it had become better. Izuku smiled, now he could sit for hours, listening to their music, or just watching him practice his drums endlessly.
"You ready?" Katsuki threw open the door, dressed in shorts and a plain t-shirt. He wasn't going to impress anyone.
"S-Sure," jumping up, Izuku grabbed his backpack.
"You still wanna go?" Bakugou peered at him closely.
"Yeah, I do," Izuku tried to look cheerful, his stomach doing backflips.
Pushing Deku out into the driveway, Katsuki closed the garage door. "You said it, don't come fucking cryin' to me when you're panicking," he cocked a brow at the nerd.
"I won't," Izuku blushed.
"Come on," Katsuki set out down the road at a rapid pace. Fuck, he could hear him racing behind him, the nerd's smaller legs trying to catch up. He hadn't wanted to go to the party. He'd been planning on spending his last night with Deku, letting him watch one of his fucking stupid All Might movies. Well, they weren't that stupid, he'd liked them at one time too. Looking over his shoulder, green eyes smiled at him, Katsuki sighed. It was always that way, no matter where he was, he just turned around and those wide green eyes were watching him. He clenched his jaw against the deep wrenching pain in his stomach. Fuck, he kept chickening out, how the fuck was he going to say goodbye to him?
"Alright sit down," Momo waved the group into the room. She had a bowl in her hands, "let's play another game." Smiling at everyone, her eyes settled on Kiri for an extra moment. "Seven minutes in heaven," she grinned wickedly, holding up the bowl. "I put everyone's name in here. If you get chosen there's a big closet at the end of that hall, you go in there for seven minutes."
"Fuck," Katsuki sat on the floor, leaning back on his hands. He glanced at the nerd, Deku looked like he was going to bolt, he chuckled, this was going to be interesting. Momo reached in and pulled out the first two names.
"Kirishima and, oh," she blushed, "me." Standing up, she handed her phone to Denki, "hit the timer when we go into the closet."
"You got it, need more than seven minutes?" Denki winked.
"Shh," Momo glared at him. Kiri's face was the same color as his hair as the two went down the hall to the closet together. Everyone started twittering and laughing. Izuku sat deeper into the couch, trying to figure out a quick way to leave. If he got called, he'd die, not only was he younger than this group, he'd never kissed anyone before. Looking around, most of the girls were eyeing Kacchan. He chewed on his bottom lip, he really hoped the blonde got picked instead of him.
Momo and Kiri came out seven minutes later, lip gloss shining on Kiri's lips, he was redder if that was possible. Izuku's heart skipped a beat as Momo sat down smiling. "Okay, who's next?" she teased, putting her hand in the bowl. She looked at the paper, "Ooo Bakugou," a few small gasps went around the group, girls leaning perceptibly closer to hear their name. "And," she fished around, picking out the second name she opened it dramatically, "HA!" she laughed, looking at the small green haired kid, "Midoriya."
"What? They're both guys!"
"So?" Katsuki stood up, "come on nerd, looks like we got seven minutes together," he was relieved, he really didn't want to kiss any of these girls. Deku stared at him, Bakugou turned and started down the hall. He glanced at him still on the couch, "well? You comin'?"
Feeling eyes on him, a few glaring, Izuku hopped up. Shoving his hands in his pockets, he followed him. It could've been worse, at least it was Kacchan. He was holding the closet door open, Izuku peeked inside, it was dark.
"You still afraid of the dark?" He pushed him in gently.
"N-No," Izuku moved into the small space. Spinning around he sat down quickly. Kacchan closed the door and slid down the wall next to him. "This is silly," Izuku giggled softly.
"Is it?"
"Yeah, you should've been able to kiss a girl."
"I don't wanna kiss any of those girls." Red eyes glowed in the dark.
"Yeah, right," Izuku rolled his eyes, "you don't have to make me feel better Kacchan. Sorry you're stuck with me, like always."
Peering at him in the dark, Katsuki's eyes slowly adjusted, he could see him curled up around himself. The gnawing tore through him, it was possible he'd never see him again after tonight. "Hey nerd," his voice was thick, "I never gave you a birthday present, did I?"
"Uh, no, it's okay, we hung out, that was cool." A hand reached out and grabbed his arm pulling him. Izuku tried to see his expression in the dark, "what?"
"C'mere," he pulled the nerd into his arms. "Sit here," green eyes grew wide as Katsuki tugged him onto his lap.
Fidgeting Izuku tried to settle himself, the heat from the muscled legs underneath him already invading his senses. "W-Why?"
"I'm guessing you've never been kissed Deku."
"No," Izuku smiled blushing, he looked down, "when would've I done that?"
"Right, 'cause you're always stuck with me," Katsuki teased, sweeping one hand up Deku's back. He grabbed his chin with the other, pulling the nerd's mouth close to his own.
"K-Kacchan!" Izuku jerked away.
"Shhh," Katsuki pulled him back, letting their lips press together. Splaying his hand, he rubbed the nerd's back, which was ramrod straight, "relax Deku, it's only a kiss." Nibbling on the nerd's soft lips, he pulled them into his mouth gently.
Izuku's head was spinning, his rough hands, hot breath and full lips were setting off a tightening deep in his body that made him want to resist but his mouth was so tender, so inviting. Putting a hand on Kacchan's chest, Izuku slowly melted into the kiss.
The nerd relaxed, his body shifting towards him. "Yeah, there you go," Katsuki breathed, kissing him deeper, his tongue touching his lip. The nerd snapped back, he followed him, pressing him back into his body. "Stay with me," Bakugou cooed softly, Deku gasped as his tongue slid into his mouth. Katsuki moved his hand up to his curls, he deepened the kiss, tightening his fingers to hold his head.
Kacchan's mouth was plucking strange sensations from Izuku's body, his tongue exploring his mouth, encouraging him, Izuku timidly followed his lead. The blonde's hand pushed him into the kiss, his tongue more demanding. Izuku felt a thrill pulse through his veins, his body wanting more, he kissed him back matching his pace, sucking at his full lips. Their tongues entwined, Izuku whimpered, the pulsing roared through him as a sweet heat filled his groin, his brain felt light. Every stroke of their tongues made him feel like he was going to burst.
Pulling back Katsuki broke the kiss, panting, he stared at the nerd. He was flushed red, green eyes focused on his lips, mouth hanging open. He was already moving to kiss him again. "Wait, wait, fuck, you learn quick," Katsuki chuckled, he looked at his watch, "shit, we've only got a couple of minutes, I need to cool off for a sec." Fuck he'd gotten a semi from the nerd.
"Oh," Izuku stared at his mouth, he wanted to kiss him again, he looked down blushing.
A cocky grin crossed Bakugou's mouth, "I'm glad you liked your first kiss, now you'll never forget me, Deku." He ruffled his hair gently.
"Kacchan," Izuku whispered, "I'm not going to forget you." His body was throbbing, he wanted to move his hips with the feeling but he was still sitting on Kacchan's lap.
"Here," Katsuki pulled out his red garnet earring, he put it in Deku's hand. "One last present for you," he wrapped the nerd's hand around the jewelry. "Go pierce your fucking ear so you'll get a second kiss," Katsuki clicked his tongue, "not sure how you got so nerdy, specially hanging out with me all the time."
"This is your favorite Kacchan, I - I can't take this." The blonde held his hand closed.
"Already done nerd, don't want it back now." He looked at his watch, thirty seconds, fuck, "Deku, I've been trying to tell you-" The nerd kissed him., hands gripping his blonde spikes, he pressed his lips desperately against his mouth. Katsuki's brows shot up in surprise, he kissed him back. There was a knock on the door.
"Time," someone called and walked away.
"That's it," Katsuki growled in frustration, he pushed the nerd off his lap. Opening the door, he went down the hall back to the group.
Following him, Izuku ran to the couch and sat down staring at his feet. The group was quiet, looking at them both. Izuku could feel the heat spreading up his neck to his cheeks, he wanted to cry.
"Oookay," Momo laughed, she put their names back into the bowl, lifting it in the air again she pulled out two more slips of paper, "next two are," she looked at the names, "Itsuka." The orange-haired girl beamed, "and, oh, Midoriya again." Momo watched as his head shot up from his knees, eyes wide.
"What?!" Panic edged Izuku's voice.
Standing up, Itsuka glanced between him and Bakugou, "Well, let's see, maybe there's more to you after all," she smirked and held out her hand to the green-haired kid.
Izuku's face was stark white, he looked at Kacchan, who was looking down, face set in a stony expression. He took three steps behind Itsuka and stopped, "I can't," he whispered, turning, he ran back through the living room, opening the front door, Izuku raced out into the night.
"What the fuck?" Itsuka threw her hands in the air as the kid disappeared around the corner.
"Deku!" Leaping to his feet, Katsuki ran after him, stopping at the open front door. The nerd was gone. "Shit," Katsuki walked down the small porch stairs, he was probably half-way home by now.
"Is he gone?" Kiri ran out behind him.
"Yep," Katsuki looked back at his friend standing in the doorway. "He fucking high-tailed it home, I'm guessing," he chuckled softly.
"Shit," Kiri laughed, "I guess he only wanted to kiss you." His red eyes teasing.
"Shut it, Shitty Hair," Katsuki stared down the street, he hated to admit it but the nerd had been one hell of a kisser.
"Just sayin', I think it'd be cool if you two went together. He's been in love with you since I can remember," Kiri shrugged.
"Not happening," Katsuki sniped back, he needed to tell him too.
"We're practicing at the same time tomorrow, right?"
"No, in fact, practices are canceled, for good." Katsuki looked up at the night sky, "I'm leaving early tomorrow morning with Deku's uncle."
"What?" Kiri walked out into the warm night. "What the fuck you sayin'?"
"Sorry, I wanted to tell you sooner, but it's been hard. His uncle, the one that's been around a few times since his dad died, he took over the agency."
"Agency?" Kiri sat down on the steps, Bakugou was fucking leaving?
"Deku's dad, well, now his uncle, owns a talent agency, models, bands, shit like that. He asked me if I wanted to model a few weeks ago, took pictures. I already got a few contracts, I guess I have that look," he shrugged, "at least that's what he said."
"A model? Are you fucking with me?"
"No, I'm not, I have to get the fuck outta here, I can't live with my hag anymore, I'm fucking suffocating." Clicking his tongue, he looked at Shitty Hair, "do me a favor, keep fucking practicing, okay? This modeling gig pays really well, I'm gonna save up. I promised you that we're going to start a band, and we are, so don't stop playing that crappy guitar, we'll be the Pointless Vandals for real someday, okay?"
Nodding slowly, Kiri looked down the street. "Okay," he looked at his friend, "you told him yet?"
"No, I fucking haven't" Katsuki felt tired, he hadn't been able to say goodbye. "I'm going to tell him now."
Bolting off the step Kiri wrapped him up in a huge hug. "I'll fucking see you, save your damn money, okay?" He leaned his forehead onto his shoulder, "I'll be the best fucking guitarist around and you better be able to keep up with those stupid drums." Kiri blinked back tears stinging his eyes. "I'm gonna miss you man." He let go of his friend.
Patting his arm, Katsuki smiled, "I'll miss you too, you're not so bad as an extra." He started down the street.
"Not sure why they asked you to model though, you're an ugly son of bitch," Kiri called. The blonde raised his arm and flipped him off, laughing as he turned down the next street.
"Fucking model," shaking his head Kiri wiped his eyes, he stood in the doorway staring down the now empty street. "The poor kid," he shook his head, this would kill Zu.
Racing down the road, Izuku sucked air into his lungs, he felt the burn as his legs pumped faster, he couldn't stop. Seeing his house, he felt a burst of energy as he flew around the side, fumbling with the latch, he ripped open the gate, tearing through the yard, he burst in through the back door. Sitting at the table his mom, uncle and Kacchan's mom all looked up, he stopped, gulping in a lungful of air.
"Izuku!" His mom scolded him. "We have company."
"S-Sorry mom," he panted, "hi, Ms. Bakugou, Uncle," he nodded.
"I've told you, call me Mitsuki," the blonde woman smiled at him.
"Can I go to my room?" Izuku pointed to the stairs.
"Are you okay?" Inko was clearly worried.
"Yeah," he looked at Mitsuki, he noticed she looked sad. She usually looked haggard but tonight she had deep black bags under her eyes, her face was pale, colorless. "Um, can I go upstairs?" He wanted to get to his room.
"Okay go ahead," Inko shooed him off.
Izuku took the stairs two at a time, not stopping until his door was closed and he'd fallen onto his bed. He curled up into the far corner, back against the wall, grabbing his pillow, he hugged it tight. Why? Why had Kacchan kissed him? His stomach was rolling hard, he felt nauseous. He'd never done anything like that before. "Why Kachan?" He whispered. How could he look at him tomorrow? With those red eyes teasing him. Would he even say anything? Izuku touched his lips, it was the all he could think of, the feel of his mouth on his, hot and wet. He closed his eyes tight, tears trickled sideways across his cheeks, he rubbed his face on his pillow. Kacchan didn't like him like that, so why? Something was poking him, he dug into his pocket, it was his earring. Izuku stared at the red gem that glittered in the soft light of his room. Another thought was working its way through his mind, like an icy grip choking him. Izuku shuddered, why had he liked it so much?
Sitting at the breakfast table, Izuku barely touched his waffles. His mom smiled softly, "sorry honey, I know it's hard."
"What?!" Izuku's head shot up, how did his mom know?
"I mean, you've been with him your whole life, not having him around is going to be hard at first, that's all," she finished rinsing the dishes.
Izuku furrowed his brow, "what are you talking about mom?"
"Katsuki, honey, about him leaving," she stood with her hands on her hips, "you're sitting here moping about him being gone."
"He's gone?" Izuku looked at his mom blankly.
"Wait, didn't he tell you?"
"No, tell me what?"
"That chicken, oh my god!" Inko leaned on the sink taking a deep breath. She turned back to her son, his face pale.
"He left this morning, he got some modeling contracts, he'll be living at the agency."
Izuku stared at his mom, he was sure the world had stopped and from underneath him the earth was going to open up and swallow him whole. "Forever?" His voice squeaked out.
"I'm not sure, I guess it depends on how good he is, but he's pretty determined, you know him, he'll make himself successful." She wrung her hands, "his mom's upset but they need the money, so it's good for them."
"He'll come back, right?" Izuku's mind racing, looking for anything to bring him back, "Christmas, stuff like that?"
"He might honey, I - I'm not sure. You could call him, doesn't he have a phone?"
"No mom, you know that," Izuku shook his head hard, "he never did."
"I'm so sorry honey," she walked over to hug him. Izuku jumped out his chair, it slid back across the wood floor. Turning he ran out the door.
Once again Izuku was taking deep breaths as he ran, this time running down the hard packed dirt path he had created with Kacchan over the years. Stumbling through the brush he looked for the trail that had been choked by weeds. He could hear the small stream, he knew it was close. Izuku spotted the small red strip of ribbon tacked to the tree, their fort. He followed the trail, walking toward the tree, he went around to the edge of the stream. He stopped, there was their old makeshift fort, nothing now but a pile of sticks and an old blanket, tattered by the weather. He sat down hard, his back against the tree, the stream racing by, he couldn't think. Kacchan was gone, that's what last night was all about, Izuku closed his eyes. He'd kissed him goodbye. Tears slid down his cheeks, he didn't even try to stop them. "Oh Kacchan," he bowed his head and let the sorrow swallow him up. Izuku knew, he'd said everything in that kiss, Kacchan was never coming back.
