Chapter 1.

"Candace Jeremy's here to see you please leave your door open." "Okay mom" She shouted back to her mom downstairs. "Thanks Mrs.Fletcher it's nice to see you again." She hears Jeremy saying while walking up the stairs to her bedroom.

"Hey babe you ready to go?" he asks, walking into her room and pecking her lips. "Hey babe yeah I'm ready" she smiles, taking his hand and walking out the door with him downstairs. "Bye mom I'll see you later" "bye honey have a good day" she says waving them off as they head outside to his car.

"Thanks babe" she giggles while getting inside the passenger seat as he holds her door open for her "of course beautiful" and then gets into the driver seat to drive off to the mall. "What stores do you want to hit up first or do you want to eat something first? I mean I already ate but we can still get you something if you haven't?" He asked.

"Um well I already ate too so we can hit up Sephora and some other clothes stores you know until you have to start your shift at slushy burger." "Sounds good babe also I know our one year anniversary is coming up next month. Do you have any suggestions on what you wanna do? He asked.

"Hmm well I was thinking maybe we can go to a fancy restaurant and then see where the rest of the night takes us." "I like that plan." He smiles holding her hand the rest of the way while playing the music. 10 minutes later they pulled up to a parking spot outside of the mall and turned off the engine.

"Ready?" "Yup" She says getting outside of the vehicle and taking his hand and head inside the mall and heading to Sephora first. "Welcome to Sephora let us know if there's anything we can help you with" one of the employees says as they walk inside. "Thanks" she smiles heading to the fountain area.

As she's looking at the different shades of colors and matching her skin color she suddenly feels Jeremy wrap his arms around her waist from behind and leans into her ear. "You know you don't need to wear any of this stuff, you're beautiful just the way you are." He whispers into her ear making her giggle.

"That's sweet of you but I'm still going to buy it." She kisses his cheek and makes him roll his eyes at her. If only she could see herself through his eyes then maybe she wouldn't feel the need to put on any makeup. "Finally" he cheers once they finally checkout and exit the door 30 minutes later with a ton of makeup products.

"Where to next?" He asked. "I don't know where you want to go next," she responds. "Alright come on" he says, taking her hand and walking to the next store and so on. About 2 hours passed by when Jeremy looked at his cellphone and realized he had 15 minutes to clock in for work.

"You're calling your mom to come pick you up right?" He asks as they're heading to the slushy burger. "No I'm just going to walk home besides it's only a 20 minute walk anyways." She says nonchalantly. "What?! I don't want you walking home by yourself, especially right now babe." "Babe relax, I walk home all the time, it's really not a big deal." She says rolling her eyes at how overprotective he can be sometimes.

"I know babe but I don't like the idea of you walking home by yourself can't you please just call your mom to come pick you up or something?" He asked worriedly, causing her to sigh and turn her body around to face him.

"Listen I promise you I'll be safe and I'll text you one I'm home okay?" "Yeah okay but seriously text me so I know you're safe." "I will now have a good evening at work. I love you and I'll see you later." "I love you too," he says, pressing his lips against hers. "Bye" she giggles and starts walking away from him and heading towards the exit of the mall.

While she's walking she feels her phone vibrate against her pocket and takes it out. She notices there's two text messages, one from Jeremy and another one from her mom.

Jeremy: Love you let me know when you're home safely.

She smiles and replies

Candace: love you too ;)

She sends the text and opens her mom's message.

Mom: Sweetie let me know if you need me to come pick you up. I don't want you walking home by yourself at this time. I love you.

She groaned why is everyone so worried it's Danville for Christ sakes nothing ever happens here! Anyways, just then she heard something. What was that? "Hello?" Candace said and turned around from the warning alarm that was going through her body.

"Why the fuck did I say that out loud?" She whispered to herself. Like how weird would it be if someone would be walking the exact same way as she does and she's just like. 'Hello.' It's clear she's watched scary movies way too many times. She shook her head and went back to replying to her mom's text message.

Candace: I'm already walking home chill. I'll be home in like 15 minutes.

Candace's stomach dropped as a force pulled everything she had in her hands, out of control. The disgusting smell of smoke instantly hit her lungs like a truck as the left side of her face was pushed roughly against a wall, creating a painful spot right there.

She began screaming, repeating herself louder and louder as she realised she couldn't move herself out of his tight grip of this man; he must be somewhere in his late thirties, maybe early forties. He had dark brown eyes with dark brown hair and light skin.

His hands twirled harder around her neck, making it impossible to scream and difficult to breathe. He threw her back harder against the wall and began screaming at her "shut up!" He yelled at her with so many different kinds of words. Is this happening to her?

She began hyperventilating as she felt him turn her around and push her up against his hard chest with his hand over her mouth to muffle her screams for help. She started thrusting herself back and forth digging her heels in the ground to try and escape but he was too strong.

She was shaking her head violently, noticing he was dragging her along to a white van with no windows except for the ones in the passenger and driver seat. "I said shut up!" He yelled, opening one of the doors and throwing her inside. "HELP PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP ME!"

She screamed with tears streaming down her face. "No! No! No!" She shook her head and began banging her fist against the van door that he just closed and locked on her. She gasped as she heard the engine come to life speeding off with her to take her somewhere to do what exactly? Kill her?

No she couldn't die she just couldn't she began using all of her force to try and open up the van door that didn't want to budge. It was useless though she knew nobody was going to hear her pleas for help and that was a horrible feeling knowing her screams for help weren't being heard.

By this point she was panting gasping for air as she continued screaming for anyone to hear her. After a while of driving which felt like hours to her when it really was just 45 minutes the van came to a complete stop along with the engine turning off.

Candace's felt her body completely freeze up. This is it, this is where he's going to kill her and god knows what else. A few seconds later the door opened revealing her captivator causing her to scream at the top of her lungs.

"Shut up you stupid bitch!" He growled launching towards her and grabbing her arm tightly before she had any chance of reacting. He placed his hand over her mouth to muffle her screams and dragged her to a house that seemed to be abandoned.

The house was made out of brick walls surrounding it and everything around it was overgrown and dead; it looked like a haunted house to her. And what's worse there didn't seem to be a single soul around for miles making it the perfect place to commit a murder.

Nevertheless she continued digging her heels in the ground but it was no use. He was freakishly strong and was just dragging her body like it was nothing. She felt the oxygen leave her body as he opened the door and walked inside along with her to do god knows what.

Meanwhile…

It was 10 o'clock at night when Jeremy finally got off his shift at slushy burger. Throughout his whole shift he continued staring at his phone for a text message from Candace saying she made it home safely but it never once came.

He kept trying to tell himself that everything was okay. Maybe she just forgot to text him? Oh who is he kidding she would never forget to text him. He was just overthinking he was sure of it he was going to head over to her place and everything would be okay right?

He pushed his negative thoughts to the side and got in his car and drove to her house. After 10 minutes of driving he pulled up to her house and got out of his vehicle and walked up to the front door. He knocked on the door and a few seconds later the door flew open revealing Mrs. Fletcher and the look on her face instantly made him nervous.

"Jeremy! Please tell me Candace is with you?" She asked, making all of the negative thoughts he had come back up. "No! She's not here? How long has she been missing?" He asked. She was about to respond when she got interrupted by Lawrence yelling on the phone.

"I don't care if it hasn't been 24 hours! My daughter has been missing for 4 hours! She's never been gone this long without any communication!" He yelled worriedly on the other side of the phone. "What?! She never came back from the mall?!" Jeremy asked worriedly while pulling his hair in frustration.

"No, she told me she was going to be home in 15 minutes but she hasn't come through the door." She cried. "Oh god I'm going to drive around and see if I can find her!" He said running back to his car while taking his cellphone out to call Coltrane and Stacy.

He dialed Stacy first and picked up immediately. "Jeremy! Is Candace with you?! Her mom said she never came back from the mall!" "No! She isn't so you wanna hop in my car so we can look for her?" "Yes I'll be right out." "Okay" he says hanging up and then dialed Coltrane who picked up after the third or fourth ring.

"Hey man what's up?" "Coltrane! What are you doing right now?" "Why?" "Because Candace never came home and she was supposed to be back like 4 hours ago." "Shit where are you at right now?" "I'm heading to pick up Stacy so we can look for her. Do you wanna come along?"

"Yeah I'll be outside waiting and Jeremy don't worry I'm sure she's fine." "I sure hope so." He said and hung up right as he pulled up at Stacy's house. "Hey where are we looking first?" "Well we're going to pick up Coltrane and then I guess drive around town till we find her..fuck I hope nothing happened to her."

"I'm sure she's fine, have you tried calling her?" "Yes but she's not picking up" he says, parking in front of Coltrane's house. "Hey where are we headed to first?" Coltrane says, getting inside the car in the pack. "Hey bro and I think I'm just going to drive around the town and see if we can find her." He nodded and buckled up before Jeremy sped off towards the mall.

……..

After countless hours of driving around up and down the streets of Danville it was close to four in the morning and pitch black. "Where is she?!" Jeremy said frustrated. "I have no idea but it's pitch black out here Jeremy for all we know we could have passed by her and not even realize it." Stacy says nervously.

"So what do you suggest we do then?" "Listen" Coltrane chimed in. "I don't want to worry you guys more than you guys already are but I think we need to face the facts that she's been missing for more than 10 hours so it's obvious something might've happened to her."

"Coltrane!" They both yelled in unions. "That doesn't help at all!" "Fuck!" Jeremy says frustrated. "What if something did happen to her?…what if she's…" "don't! Don't finish that sentence!" Stacy said.

"I think we should meet up with Phineas and Ferb in a couple of hours and see if they can figure out where she is." Stacy pointed out. "Okay…okay that sounds good." Jeremy says and turns his car around to head back to their houses.
