Drift's P.O.V.
I love laying on the bed with Jamie laying on me. I don't know how likely anyone else would smile waking up laying on someone, but Jamie never questions why she's on me. I think she likes this. It's always hard to get her off me. It's no different this time except for the sadness in her eyes even after waking up. She lays her head back on my chest. As much as I love this, we need to get up. I didn't think Jamie would tightly hug me as I move to the edge of the bed. Saying nothing, I hug her. What can words do at this point? I'm starting to feel like a broken record. I doubt she had a nightmare either.
Crosshairs walks into the room and sits on the bed. He tries to get Jamie to talk to us, but she doesn't want to. I know he's angry at the reason why Jamie is refusing to talk. The few times she said something, she sounded afraid. She only nods when I ask her if she wants to go to the beach with us, Lightning, Lily, and the terror twins. My mind thinks I need to talk to her about this and her terrible eating habits, but I worry she won't take the conversation the right way.
Lightning and the other femmes come by, hoping to take Jamie for a while. They see she's not dressed yet but still ask.
Rangeblade watches closely as Lightning tries to get Jamie to join the six of them.
"We are hoping to get more involved," Moonracer tells us once Lightning is in the bathroom with Jamie.
"Why does she seem terrified?" Arcee asks, "Elita won't tell us."
"Optimus tells only me what's going on. Though I think it's more like venting. He'd tell me if I could tell anyone else," Elita defends, "which he didn't. Lightning feels the same way."
"It's not going to make a difference if you know," I tell them
"We can help, Drift," Rangeblade argues taking my hand, "it'll be easier to help if we know what's going on. You thought you lost me and I don't want to watch you lose Jamie."
I doubt Optimus told Elita everything. I let her tell the other femmes what she's been told.
She finishes as Lightning walks out of the bathroom, carrying Jamie, ready to leave.
"We'll talk later," Arcee says and the femmes leave.
"She's right. They don't need to know everything, but they can help us. You know everyone is worried."
"If we can't help her, then what can the others do?"
Tears roll down my face as Crosshairs hugs me.
Crosshairs' P.O.V.
"I know Jamie's mental state could result in this backfiring in us, but she could be ok and we have more friends helping us," I explain while wiping his tears.
I know it's a terrible argument since I'm not sure if this will help Jamie. Hopefully, it will and he can relax for a while. Returning to his meditation might not happen for a while.
Jamie and Lightning return an hour later which does worry us until Lightning tells us an hour was the plan for today.
"The femmes know to be careful while trying to get her to talk," Lightning assures me.
"I just can't believe we're at this point," I sigh, "never thought her mental health would get this bad."
"I hate feeling like nothing will change, or things will get worse. If Drift has no hope..."
I don't know what to say as I hug Lightning.
Lightning tells me Jamie did eat a little before leaving the room.
Drift must have taken Jamie into the bathroom. I sit on my bed, hating I have no idea how to help them. Worried Drift will start having nightmares or he'll refuse to sleep. Then there's Jamie, will she start having nightmare? I don't like how depression is why she's going to bed at a decent time rather than two in the morning. Funny I'd rather she's up all night than see her asleep by ten.
The two walk out of the bathroom a few minutes later. Jamie is dressed. I worry Drift had to dress her. Slowly she's shutting down mentally. I don't know if talking to her about this behavior not helping with what she wants would be wise. I can't ask Rung either.
I know depression makes the affected have a lack of interest in anything. I do think the lack of support around what she wants is contributing to her depression this time and also makes it harder for Drift to want to talk to Ratchet and Optimus.
Sunstreaker: so are we going to the beach?
Crosshairs: I think so.
Sunstreaker: I'm going to get McDonald's for lunch and Panara Bread.
I tell him that's fine. He's hoping to be at the beach by one.
Drift and Jamie are fine with this. For now, the two are watching T.V. I tell Drift Sunstreaker's plan. We decide to leave at twelve-thirty.
Sunstreaker's p.o.v.
Lily is not pleased I'm lecturing her. I feel like she's like Sideswipe, so if I don't lecture her to leave Jamie alone, then she's not going to be careful. Sideswipe listens to me lecture Lily. The three of us not liking the situation.
"I wish we could help them more," Lily sighs.
"I know, I hate how we can only wait, hopefully not for long."
The three of us leave the base to get what we planned on picking up before going to the beach.
I stop by Crosshairs and Drift's room, to confirm that the three will be meeting us at the beach.
"I think Drift just wants her out of the base," Crosshairs tells me, "and Jamie needs to get out, but I don't think she'll play in the sand or go in the water."
"It's a start. I know we need to be careful. I hate the thin line between helping and
forcing."
I head down the hall, hoping we'll have a good afternoon.
