A/N: Hope that everyone is enjoying the story. We're about halfway through season 3 and big things are coming. What does everyone think about my Lyla/Chibs pairing? Good match or bad?
Chapter 35: The Push
Third Person POV
"Yeah thanks." Bobby said, hanging up the phone. "The ten grand we sent Serg's guy in Vancouver? It's gone. Guess mercenaries aren't real big on refunds."
"And the money we made on the roids was in the bag the mexicans took from idiot." Chibs said.
"We're tapped." Bobby said. "We have a very expensive excursion in front of us."
"What about the other drugs?" Jax asked.
"No street value. Black market scripts. We need a way into the clinics." Juice said.
"When we blow off that bail hearing this afternoon, we're underground. It's gonna be a little hard to earn. You think maybe Tara can help us move those scripts?" Clay asked.
"That's not gonna happen." Jax said.
"I don't see any other way, Jax." Tig said.
"I said no." Jax said.
"She's your Old Lady…" Clay trailed off.
"I don't care!" Jax yelled.
"Hey, where we at with the Mayans?" Opie asked changing the subject.
"Based on that delivery schedule, that dope shipment's set to leave for Stockton today at 1:00." Tig said.
"Now, that route from Lodi to Stockton is all main roads and highways. No place off the grid to take it down." Piney said.
"Then let's get creative. They're trying to stay under the radar, right? Means there won't be too many bodies." Jax said.
"What time is the meet set with Alvarez?" Clay asked.
"3 o'clock." Tig said. "I left word for him at his warehouse. Hopefully he'll show."
"We snatch up his heroin, he'll show." Clay said. "We got a vote to get out."
Tig POV
Kozik walked over to where we were standing. "Hey, what's up Chibby. Got my transfer letter." He said and I rolled my eyes. There was no way I was voting him in no matter how much he'd helped with Bella's safety.
"Oh good." Clay said. "All right, we got the prospects and Happy inside. Let's get it done."
The guys started filing inside. Kozik stopped me. "Hey give me a minute?" I crossed my arms. "Look man, I know…I know…" He tried to say.
"What? What do you know?" I asked.
"I'm not expecting you to be okay with this." He said.
"Good. Cause I'm not." I said.
"I can be an asset to the charter." He said.
"All right." I said.
"I'm just asking for you to give me a chance." He said.
"We done?" I asked.
"Yeah."
Bella POV
I had seen Uncle Hap pull into the parking lot a bit ago so I decided to walk over to the clubhouse to say hi. Right when I walked in I saw Kozik push Dad.
"You son of a bitch." Dad said, when he turned around Kozik decked him. Ouch.
"It's no fun getting sucker punched is it?" Kozik asked dad.
"No it's not." Dad said.
I rolled my eyes and walked over to where Uncle Hap was standing. "Hey munchkin." He said.
"Hey. I was hoping to talk to you." I said.
He nodded. "Let's go outside." I nodded. We walked outside and sat on one of the picnic tables. "What's on your mind?" He asked.
"I was hoping that you could do a tat for me." I said.
"What did you have in mind?" Hap asked.
"A rose with the kids names under it." I said.
"Let me draw up a couple designs and then you can pick the one you like." Uncle Hap said.
I hugged him. "Thanks." I said.
Jax POV
"What the hell is going on with Tara?" Clay asked me.
I sighed. "I don't know. She's a surgeon, Clay. She's in that room saving lives everyday." I said.
"And your point?" Clay asked.
"Well that's the opposite of everything I am." I said.
"Ah, that's your guilt talking." Clay said.
"I don't know. Maybe." I said.
"She's a chick. Don't complicate it. You got to make a decision, son. She's either in or out." Clay said.
"I know." I said. He was right I did need to make a decision when it came to Tara. For her, for me, for the club.
"But if she's out…you don't let that hammer fall until she moves those scripts for us. We don't get that cash, we don't get your son." Clay said and I nodded.
A little while later, I found myself at St. Thomas looking for Tara. "What's going on? This about Gemma?" Tara asked me.
"No. I need to ask you for a favor." I said.
"Okay."
"The club came into some prescription drugs. Mostly HIV stuff. I was wondering if you know a clinic that might need it." I said.
"Black market?" She asked.
"I just need a name." I said.
"Yeah you're gonna need more than that." She said, sighing. "I know where to take it."
"You're not taking it anywhere." I said.
"They're medical professionals, Jax. They're not gonna buy drugs from a biker. I know the money is to get you guys to Belfast. Let me help?" She said.
Gemma POV
"I spotted Polly at the grocery store, followed her to that house." I said.
"And why were you following her, ma'am?" Agent Wright asked.
"I was raped two months ago. She was part of it. I don't really know why I followed her. Instinctual I guess." I said.
"Did you report the assault?" He asked.
"No." I said. "I knew the kind of damage it would do to my family. Did want them to know."
"Okay. Continue." He said.
"Walked into the house. I saw Polly in the doorway of the back room. She had a gun. Took mine out. That's when I saw the Irish kid, laying on the ground. Dead."
"It's a lie." Agent Stahl said.
"This is a deposition, not an interrogation, Agent. You're here as a courtesy." He said.
"Polly spotted me and turned her gun. I shot first. Kill or be killed." I said.
"Then what?" He asked.
"Then I just sat on the couch. Kind of in shock, really. Never killed anybody before. Then this ATF agent walked out of the back room. She'd been hiding there the whole. My guess? She's the one who killed Edmond. Put the dirty kill on me." I said.
"You're a liar." Stahl said.
"We're not asking you to make guesses Gemma." Lowen said.
"Can you identify the agent?" Agent Wright asked.
"Yeah. She's in this room." I said.
"Agent Stahl?" He asked.
I shook my head. "No. It was her." I said, pointing to the agent in the back.
"Agent Tyler?" He asked.
I nodded.
Darby POV
"How's that pie?" I asked.
"Fresh." Jacob said. "What do you want, Darby?"
"I think you might be interested in what I have to say." I said.
"Oh, I can't wait." Jacob said.
"Saw Jax Teller and his doctor girlfriend at the Kellerman Clinic. They were moving illegal scripts."
"And how do you know they were illegal?" He asked.
"I know an illegal drug buy when I see one." I said.
"The Sons are in the dope business?" Jacob asked.
"It would appear that way. They probably got a garage full of Oxy." I said.
"And why are you sharing this with me and my pie?" Jacob asked.
"'Cause I want these assholes to suffer." I said. And I did. "The cops in this town are in Clay's pocket, and after what happened to your little brother, I'd think that you'd have an ax to grind with the Sons, too."
"You want me to get rid of your competition." Jacob said.
"Nah. I ain't in the game anymore. Nords are done, and almost getting burned to death tends to make one rethink one's priorities." I said.
"Revenge isn't exactly taking the high road." Jacob said.
"Well, just cause I ain't dirty doesn't mean that I'm a saint. You got the information. You do what you want." I said.
Clay POV
"Clubhouse and garage are all clean. No pharmaceuticals." A deputy said to Unser.
"This isn't about Pozo. This is search and seizure. They're looking for scripts. How the hell did they know?" Jax whispered.
I walked over to Unser. "This is bullshit. We were face to face a couple hours ago. You can't throw me a hint this shit's gonna go down?" I asked him.
"I didn't know." Unser said. "It happened fast."
"Yeah. It sure did." I said. I walked back over to Jax. "Cancer boy?" Jax nodded. "Dead to us."
"Clay, Gem just called. Oswald's on his way now." Tig said.
When we got to the hospital we found out that Pozo died. Good riddance. "I spoke to the Sanwa D.A. The bail hearing has been pushed ten days." Lowen said.
"Your kidding. What happened?" I asked.
"Backlog of bad guys I guess. See you then." Lowen said.
I walked into Gemma's room where she was talking to Oswald. "This is about my grandson, Elliot." She said. "We know where he is. Belfast."
Elliot looked at me. "I thought Jax said he was in Vancouver. How do you know he's in Ireland?" Oswald asked.
"Club has a charter in Belfast." I said.
Oswald sighed. "We just need you to hear us out." Gem said.
"Look I'm sorry about Abel. I really am. But if I got a shot against Hale, I can't be associated with SAMCRO." Oswald said.
"Not gonna be anymore blood in Charming. Our beef with the Mexicans? Put away. Pretty soon people are going to forget about the drive by and it's going to be business as usual." I said.
"We need your help." Gem said.
"Your, uh, forestry equipment… how do you get it overseas?" I asked. This was awkward.
"I run cargo jets out of Stockton. Why?" Oswald said then he realized. "Oh. You want passage to Belfast." He sighs.
"Just found out the bail hearing's been pushed. Your bond won't be at risk." Gem said.
"Gives us a little bit more than a week to find our grandson." I said.
Oswald looked deep in thought. "I got a cargo heading to Manchester UK tomorrow. Taking off out of Stockton Metro. 6 PM sharp. Not a minute later. We can…We'll work out the details in the morning." Oswald said.
"Thank you." I said.
Jax POV
I went looking for Tara. I needed to know if she'd let it leak about the scripts. "What is it?" She asked me.
"Sheriffs raided the clubhouse, looking for illegal scripts." I said.
"Oh, my god. How did they know?" She asked.
I laughed. "You tell me." I said.
"What the hell does that mean?" She asked.
"You told me that we could trust that doctor." I said.
"He wouldn't say anything." She said.
"Well… someone did." I said. Tara sighed. "I get caught, I can do the years. But you? Narc raps are real time. Your medical career would be over. Do you get that?"
"You asked me for help. This isn't my fault." She said, crossing her arms.
"I know, I know." I said. "It's mine. I'm done."
