This is just a random idea I got a few days ago.

The Pain of Life

Qui-Gon Jinn was met at the landing platform by a young girl, hardly 18 years old. She was dressed in torn clothes. She seemed nervous. "I will lead you to the palace," she said quietly after bowing.
She led him to the palace, through halls to a room. "This is where you will stay. I am Yhona, I will be serving you."
"I'm Qui-Gon Jinn."
The girl bowed and walked away.

Yhona was in the kitchen preparing a meal for the Jedi. Qui-Gon walked in, he smiled at her. "I was just fixing a meal for you," she said.
"Oh. Thank you."
The girl went back to her work.

A little boy, only 2 years old ran through the halls to the kitchen. He ran through the door and into a man's leg. He fell over. The small boy became fearful and knelt in front of the man.
Yhona saw this and ran over. "Please, he didn't mean to. He's just a child."
"It's quite alright." Qui-Gon helped the boy up. "What's your name little one?"
The boy was silent. "This is Obi-Wan, my son."
"Hello Obi-Wan. I'm Qui-Gon."
The boy clung to his mother's leg.
"Who was his father?" Qui-Gon asked.
Yhona met eyes with him, then went back to her work. "Working isn't the only thing the King uses his slaves for."
Qui-Gon frowned. "So the King is—"
"I don't want him to know. Obi-Wan has been hurt enough."
The boy looked at his mother, he didn't understand. He tugged at his mother's dress. "Yes?"
"I hungy," he said quietly.
Yhona smiled. "Wait." She set Qui-Gon's meal on the table and told Obi-Wan that he'd have to wait for Qui-Gon to finish.
"No, it's quite alright," Qui-Gon said.
Obi-Wan gave a small smile and sat down across from the Jedi.

"Yhona, I'd like to speak to you about Obi-Wan," Qui-Gon said.
"What?"
"He's Force sensitive. I would like to take him to Coruscant with me, to train as a Jedi."
"That's not possible."
"Why not?"
"He's a slave. The King won't let any of us go. Especially not the young ones. Says they have too much time to work for him."
Qui-Gon glanced at the sleeping child. "What if I could arrange something?"
"If you can get the King to let him go, you can take him."
"I'll see what I can do."
Yhona smiled. "Thank you."
