Tag for The Pegasus Project. I wasn't sure which to put this in, so I hemmed and hawed and decided on SG1 since the ep was SG1. But it's definitely a crossover, and if you think I should put it in SGA just gimme a holler. Please R&R!

Disclaimer: SGA and SG1 aren't mine.

"Ya did good," he nodded, and Mitchell, half-smiled, knowing he'd gotten Sheppard's approval not by destroying a Hive and an Ori vessel, but by keeping McKay safe. Knowing, one leader to another, the responsibility that comes with the territory, the fear of being helpless.

Mitchell knows how Sheppard felt when the message was relayed that a Hive was coming, because Mitchell had felt the same when Teal'c informed him of Ori bearing down on his position.

Micthell knows also, what those words really mean, because he knows men like Sheppard, because, in some twisted way he is just like Sheppard. But someone has to be. Someone has to go first, give orders, and sacrifice themselves when it comes down to it. Mitchell has read the reports, of the suicide run in the jumper when the wraith attacked, of his one man resistance against the Genii. And he knows that the people on Atlantis are damn lucky to have him, which is a shame, because they'd be one hell of a team. Maybe one day they'll have that opportunity to stand together, to fight together. Right now, he'd be content with getting drunk together. But first things first.

"So these Puddle Jumpers…"

Sheppard grins. One pilot to another, now, and with a nod of his head he steers Mitchell down the corridors, mumbling inane facts, making odd comparisons, and promising Mitchell the best ride of his life. For anyone else, it would come with the territory of knowing one Lt. Colonel John Sheppard. But for Cameron Mitchell, it's like coming home.
