In another world, one where humans are on the brink of destruction. Came two siblings empowered by the light and darkness born in the flesh of humans. Both witnessing the evils of the world, the two live the way they wish to survive. For not even ordinary man blessed with divinity will feel so blessed.

1. Welcome To Beacon

Chapter I - Welcome To Beacon

Beacon Academy, Kingdom of Vale

Having exited an airship, several young men and women of all varieties made their way to the courtyard of the prestigious huntsmen academy. One of these individuals was the young, Ruby Rose, who was very excited to see the school and many unique weapons. Mostly the unique weapons as proven by Ruby's sudden ability to transform into a floating chibi with stars in her eyes.

Before the young girl could float aimlessly, she was brought back to reality by her blond companion.

"No, bad chibi Ruby! You can't float away on your own!" said a blond male that was restraining Ruby.

Ruby pouted, "But look at all the cool weapons! I can't help it big brother!" she whined.

The young man she referred to as her older brother sighed, "I know you like weapons Ruby. I know I couldn't show you much outside of swords and whips but there will be time for that later ok?" he asked.

Ruby nodded, "Ok Naruto, but that doesn't mean you can explore on your own and make friends without me." she said as she has abandonment issues.

"I know, just hold my hand so you don't get lost." Naruto said as Ruby obediently did as she was told. However before they left, Naruto looked around for a second, "Where in Masashi's name is Adam?" he asked.

That's when an lean built faunus with red hair and brown streaks slowly stumbled towards them. From the look of things, he seemed to look rather nauseous.

"You got motion sickness again Adam?" Ruby asked.

Adam nodded, "I don't know what's up with me and vehicles. Though it's safe to say I'm not the only one who feels this way." he said looking at some other blond kid who was vomiting.

"Hey don't worry buddy, I'm sure someone here will recognize you. How hard is it to recognize a scarred faunus with motion sickness?" Naruto asked as Adam shook his head.

Adam Taurus was an enigma to Naruto and Ruby. The two were minding their own business as they were treading down the woods one day. Only to hear a massive explosion and the sound of crashing. When they went to investigate, they found a bunch of destroyed machines and Adam conscious. When he came to, he had no recollection of what happened or much of anything. It turned out that Adam developed Amnesia and the only reason they knew his name was because of a damaged ID they found on his body.

So with nothing else or any other way of finding his identity. Adam has been following the two and decided to attend Beacon. At least hoping that someone would recognize him and help him regain his memories of his past.

"Maybe for now we should avoid trains and other modes of transportation." Ruby suggested as they started walking.

"Remember guys, this is a fresh start. So let's not cause any trouble." Naruto said as Ruby got distracted and ended up tripping over several suitcases.

"What did I just say little sister?" Naruto asked Ruby who looked embarrassed.

Adam sighed as he saw the many suitcases along with the owner. The owner was a slightly shorter looking girl with white hair, blue eyes and a scar on her left eye. They caused trouble and it was likely with the wrong person who was clearly angry.

"Hey! Careful with those! These cases are full of dust!" the girl yelled as she briefly showed her case's contents as to make sure they were fine. "They're mined and dust from the Schnee Dust Company!" she said as she took out a vial.

Ruby wasn't paying attention as Naruto tried helping her stand up.

"Are you brain dead? This is dust, the elements! Energy! Are you even listening!?" asked the girl as she waved around the dust and accidentally releasing its fumes.

This only caused Ruby to sneeze and cause the dust fumes to ignite into flames. Which inadvertently covered the girl in soot and sent her male companions flying away about a couple feet.

"Maybe you should stop waving around the extra explosive stuff around. It is dangerous after all." Naruto suggested as the girl growled.

"I'm sorry." Ruby said as she wiped her nose.

"You dolt! Don't you realize how dangerous that was!? Also, aren't you a little young to be attending Beacon? This isn't your typical combat school. We're here to fight monsters." the girl said sounding snobbish.

Naruto started getting annoyed of this girl's attitude, "Hey my little sister said she was sorry and if we're talking immaturity. At least she wasn't waving the explosive material around, princess!" he said as the white haired girl scoffed at him.

"It's heiress actually." said a black haired girl that approached them. "Weiss Schnee, Heiress to the Schnee Dust Company. One of the biggest energy producers in the world." she added.

"Finally, some recognition." Weiss said feeling respected.

The black haired girl wasn't done with her explanation yet, "Also known for it's controversial labor force and questionable business partners." she added.

Now Weiss had enough, "Well... how dare..." she didn't have much to say than to take back the vial of dust the black haired girl meant to give back.

"Well that explains her attitude. She did technically cause my friend over there to get toasted." Naruto said referring to Adam who was on the ground and covered in soot.

As both girls left, Ruby looked towards Ruby, "If you want, I can still make things up to you!" she shouted.

"Can't we meet anyone who won't get us into trouble or hurt?" Adam asked as he tried to stand up.

That's when the other blond guy arrived, "Hi, the name's Jaune. Do you need help?" he asked now lending Adam a hand. "I'm guessing you guys are a fun group." Jaune said.

"You don't know the half of it." Adam replied before they went inside for orientation.

Inside, Orientation

The four made their way inside just as Professor Ozpin and Glynda Goodwitch were about to begin orientation. So they all took their spots as everyone lined up in a rows. Ironically Ruby found herself meeting Weiss again who was willing to give her a chance to make things right. Which was by forcing Ruby to read a Schnee Dust Company issued pamphlet regarding the safety measure required to handle dust so she wouldn't blow anyone up again. Ruby decided to take it even though she doesn't rely on Dust most of the time. That and Naruto already gave her the rules of handling dust... from experience.

1. It is not rock candy.

2. Do not eat it like it's rock candy.

3. Do not snort it.

4. They make good grenades, but run away before one explodes.

5. They're expensive if you buy them from SDC.

6. Dust is probably the reason Adam had a giant mark on his face.

7. It's a fossil fuel, so it's gonna run out when they become old and wrinkly.

And that's probably all there is to it. Yet Weiss was very adamant that Ruby reads the pamphlet and learns from it.

Back to Ozpin, the man went on to explain the concept of companionship and teamwork. Which is important since reckless idiots are going to get themselves killed by being too arrogant. That and an extra pair of eyes won't hurt anyone's chance of survival. Just as that was about to end, Ozpin said the best way for everyone to get used to each other was by sleeping in the same room. Which Was very awkward in Naruto's mind since he assumed there would be some form of accommodations. It may make him sound spoiled, but to be fair... what are they!? Some kind of refugee camp!? Why is everyone going to be stuck together in the same room?

Naruto sighed, 'Well I better keep Ruby safe. I don't like the look of some of these people.' he thought as everyone dispersed and decided to explore their new school.

When the crowd dispersed and Naruto was about to go explore with Ruby and Adam. Only for someone to stop them in their tracks.

"Ruby!" shouted a female voice.

Ruby turned her head towards the sound of her name. When she spotted the person calling out her name. At that moment, Ruby's eyes were flooded with tears at who she saw.

"Yang?" Ruby asked.

Low and behold, Yang Xiao Long was only a few meters away from her and looking teary eyed as well. The men were confused up until Naruto heard Ruby say the blonde girl's name. It was another few seconds later that Naruto's eyes widened and he realized bad things were about to happen. Ruby's tears weren't full of joy... they were filled with rage.

"Ruby!"

"Yang!"

"Ruby!"

"Yang!"

"Ruby!" Yang continued to say thinking it was some mushy soft feeling type of moment.

Nonetheless she was happy to see her sister again after so many years. However she was confused by the look of disgust on Ruby's face.

"YANG!" Ruby said now full of rage, which was confusing.

What was more confusing? The fact that Ruby was pulling back her arm like she was going to punch someone.

*PUNCH*

Now it made sense! Ruby was hoping to assault Yang, but failed as Yang caught her fist. Before Yang could ask why Ruby tried to attack her, the younger girl landed a blow with her free arm and managed to tackle Yang down. Which was followed by Ruby straddling Yang as she kept trying to punch out her sister.

"Ruby what's wrong with!?" Yang asked as she blocked her sister's punches.

"You left me all alone! You left me to die!" Ruby yelled as the students and staff started to gather around the fight.

"Ruby, I can explain! I know I messed up and I'm sorry! I really am!" Yang told her.

"I won't listen to your lies!" Ruby yelled as she refused to listen to Yang.

"Ruby please listen! I was wrong about what I said a long time ago! You're my sister even if we don't have the same..." Yang was cut off by Ruby interrupting her.

"You're not my sister! I hate you!" Ruby exclaimed as she broke Yang's heart. By then Naruto had started pulling her away, "I hate you! I'll always hate you Yang Branwen!" she yelled as she started sobbing.

Unaware of the visible pain that Yang felt when Ruby called her by that last name.

"Ok that's enough, we can save the fights later!" Naruto said as he kept pulling Ruby away from a now depressed Yang.

It didn't help that Ozpin had not left the room yet, "That's enough everyone, please disperse right away." he said making everyone leave. However he wasn't done as he stared at the three, "I would like all of you to see me in my office." he said.

'Crap.' Naruto thought.

'So much for keeping a low profile.' Adam thought as he watched his companions get taken away.

Ozpin's office

Just before entering the headmaster's office. Naruto had Ruby blow her nose into some tissues and gave her some water to help her calm down. All the while the young girl refused to meet Yang's gaze. At the same time Yang wanted to reach out to Ruby despite the girl's proclamation. For some reason she felt spite against the stranger who was being used like a life preserver.

'Who is this guy?' Yang thought bitterly before Glynda Goodwitch asked for them to come in.

The three then came came in and took their seats. Though Ruby kept her firm grip around Naruto's hand as if she was a child.

Ozpin then took a deep breath before speaking, "It should be obvious why you are here Ms. Rose. Along with what you did was wrong. Although I didn't expect us to be meeting up like this." he said referring to Ruby's attempt to stop a Dust store robbery prior to today.

Ruby sneaked a glare at Yang before hiding her face, "I'm sorry professor." she said.

"Ruby, I don't like being a nag, but use eye contact when talking to Professor Ozpin." Naruto said as Ruby puffed her cheeks.

Ruby quickly wiped her eyes before facing Ozpin, "I'm sorry for starting a fight professor." she said.

"I understand you regret it, however I can't accept that apology unless I can be sure that there will be no more brawls. While this academy's primary focus is on combat, it is not against your fellow students." Ozpin reminding everyone that he is the headmaster.

Ruby nodded her head, "Yes professor, I won't pick pointless fights." she said in understanding.

"And Mr. Belmont, please do keep tabs on Ms. Rose. From what you told me on the other day. You've been the adult of the pair, so I expect you to make sure to set a good example." Ozpin said as Naruto nodded.

"I will, Ruby is usually well behaved, but I guess she's still hurting." Naruto said as Yang had a sad look on her face. "But I'm sure, I can help her work things out. After all, she never freaked out on our other travelling buddy." he said referring to Adam who was practically lost in this world.

Ozpin narrowed his eyes, "Yes the Taurus boy. Hopefully you do succeed in helping him and perhaps we will find records on him." he said as he was curious about the faunus that the kids were travelling with. "However before we end this meeting. I think it would be appropriate if you apologized to Ms. Xiao Long who is the victim here." he said as Ruby supressed a snarl.

"Ruby, take a deep breath and apologize to the girl you assaulted." Naruto said as Ruby groaned as she did her best to look at Yang without glaring. Though Yang could almost feel the hate leaking out of her, "Be nice." Naruto added.

"I sincerely apologize for my actions. I had no right to strike you and say those harmful things." Ruby said without a hint of sarcasm.

Yang accepted the apology, "I forgive you for your actions. Actually, I really wouldn't mind catching up with you if you don't mind." she said feeling hopeful.

"Maybe." Ruby said as she quickly looked away.

"Very well then, I don't want to believe we need to remind you about behavior and proper etiquette Ms. Rose. You don't have to be friends, but at least be civil during your stay at Beacon." Glynda spoke up.

"Understood." Ruby said as Naruto placed a hand around her shoulder.

"Thank you for the reminder Glynda. You three are now dismissed and be prepared for the initiation tomorrow morning." Ozpin said dismissing them.

While also keeping quiet about the fact that he's going to throw them off a mountain.

Ignoring the fact that Ozpin has too much faith in his future huntsmen. Ruby, Naruto and Yang exited the office and made their way down the elevator. Which was followed by a lot of awkward silence or maybe it was Ruby refusing to acknowledge Yang's presence as the older girl was trying to reach out to her sister. Meanwhile Naruto was unsure of what to do as he can sense the negativity leaking out of Ruby but wasn't sure how to deal with Yang who he heard about.

"Um Ruby, I really am sorry. In fact, I'm really happy to see you again." Yang said hoping to start a conversation after a long pause.

"Hn." Ruby said making Naruto's eyes widen.

'Ruby despite our history together. I will disown you if you turn emo.' Naruto thought as Ruby also caught her mistake and realized she needed to fix that later.

Though that didn't stop Ruby from looking away from Yang who kept trying to reach out to her. Now Naruto could sense the sadness and desperation coming from Yang who's eyes suddenly turned blue for an odd reason. Maybe it was a part of her semblance?

"Ruby please, I was really stupid and I didn't even go more than a couple days without realizing my mistake." Yang said trying again to reach out to Ruby.

Ruby refused to face Yang as she crossed her arms and remained silent.

"I know what I did is something you can't forgive, but please talk to me!" Yang continued to plead.

Before Yang could even hope for a response. The elevator reached the first floor and it's doors opened. Ruby revealed her semblance, Petal Burst, and quickly dashed away in burst of red rose petals. Yang tried to reach out only to watch as Ruby escaped her. Naruto to sighed as he nervously scratched the back of her head.

"Sorry, I uh, I gotta go." Naruto says as he also turns into a burst of red rose petals to go after Ruby.

Leaving a distraught and confused Yang behind.

With Ruby

After a minute long chase, Naruto found Ruby running towards a tree where she would sit and bury her face into her knees. Naruto took a deep breath as slowly sat beside her and held her in his arms. From there Ruby started to sob.

"Do you wanna talk about it?" Naruto asked as Ruby shook her head and sobbed into his chest.

"She left me Naruto. She left me and now she says she's sorry?" Ruby asked in between sobs.

"I could sense the truth and sadness for her Ruby." Naruto said, but he wasn't siding with Yang right away. "But what she did is unforgivable. I was angry with her too after what you told me, but remember this. Be civil, you don't have to accept her apology but don't let your emotions hurt you." he continued to say as Ruby sniffled.

"Ok... but... don't leave me alone! We... we have to be on the same team!" Ruby pleaded.

Naruto smiled as he stroked her, "We will, nothing is stopping us little sister. We already made it this far." he said reassuring her.

Ruby smiled back as she wiped her eyes, "And Adam?" she asked wondering about the faunus.

"Eh, maybe he'll be fine on his own team." Naruto said.

With Adam

Adam was currently with Jaune who talked about his insecurities, "I am having horrible time!" he yelled.

Later that night

Eventually Adam found the two and told them about his horrible experience. Which made Naruto and Ruby apologize. Then they proceeded to explain their situation. To which Adam did sympathize seeing as he didn't want to get into their personal life. Especially since he was grateful for them letting him tag along after he lost his memories.

Now everyone was preparing for bed in their strange accommodations. Which made Naruto extra protective seeing as there was a lot of half naked men. Naruto wasn't a "siscon" per se, but he didn't exactly like how close everyone was. That and with the rough childhood they both had, Naruto and Ruby saw each other as siblings and refused to be apart for too long.

"Aren't you going to change big brother?" Ruby asked as she was already in her pajamas.

While Ruby wore a black tank top with white pants that had a design of roses. Naruto was wearing a white shirt with his two family emblems on them. One for the Belmont Family and the other of the Rose family. Along with some brown pants, brown boots and a red x over his shirt.

Naruto yawned, "You know me Ruby. I hardly change and my cape works pretty good as a blanket." he said.

"It helps that I get to use the spare tent you guys have." Adam spoke up as he lied down across from them.

"Yeah well sometimes Ruby has nightmares and needs someone to hold." Naruto said as Ruby elbowed his ribs. "Hey, it's true. Besides, sometimes you like to use my cape as blanket." he said making the girl blush.

Naruto gave a light chuckle as he put an arm around the girl, "You're mean big brother." Ruby told him.

"I love you too." Naruto said as he kissed the side of her head. He gave another yawn as he lied down, "Well better get to bed now. The exam is early and I can only imagine what our horrifying experience will be like." he said jokingly.

Ruby giggled knowing her brother figure didn't show worry much things now that they've matured. Naruto wasn't too arrogant, but only cautious when things were serious or if there were high stakes. It was Ruby's way of thinking of it as deception which was a technique Naruto had to learn from some books and scrolls he carried. Not to confuse the latter with the cellular device that everyone carries these days.

Putting thoughts to how little caution Naruto currently had. Ruby lied down next to him and pulled her blanket over her body.

"Good night big brother." Ruby said as she discreetly snuggled closer towards him.

Naruto smiled as he could feel his adopted little sister, "Good night little sister." he muttered as he turned to his side and held her close.

Dreamscape

Ruby opened her eyes and found herself on a wagon. As she sat up, she quickly went wide eyed as she saw her elder sister was pretty hurt and covered cuts and bruises. However her real concern should be the fact that they were deep in the woods and standing outside an old abandoned house. But it was still scary for a 7 maybe 8 year old girl to be out alone with her sister. Especially when her parents aren't with them anymore.

"Y-Yang, where are we?" Ruby asked fearfully.

Yang looked around in disappointment, "I thought I found my mom Ruby." she answered only to confuse the younger girl.

"B-But mommy is gone. Just like daddy." Ruby said sadly.

"No, Summer is gone Ruby. My mom is somewhere around here. I just know it!" Yang said as she looked inside the house by herself.

After a couple minutes, Ruby got off of the wagon and put her hood on. She didn't like being this far into the forest. It was cold, wet and it was getting dark. So fearing for her own life, Ruby ran towards the doorway of the abandoned house.

"Yang! I wanna go home now! It's scary and there might be Grimm!" Ruby said fearfully.

"Damn it!" Ruby heard Yang scream as she heard things falling onto the ground. Yang then came out looking frustrated, "She's not here Ruby. My mom is not here and there's nothing for me to find her with." Yang told her.

"Yang, I know you're mad and I don't know why you don't think we have the same mommy, but I'm scared. You're hurt and I'm cold and I think there's Grimm." Ruby said as she really wanted to leave.

"Suck it up Ruby. Dad is gone and so is Summer and now I can't find my mom!" Yang complained as Ruby winced at her sister's voice being raised.

"W-We s-still h-have uncle Qrow. He's out there and he's coming." Ruby said only refused to acknowledge that idea.

"It's not happening Ruby! Qrow is gone and he's not coming back. Just like Summer and dad." Yang practically shouted only making Ruby's eyes watery. Yang's eyes softened as she realized what had done, "I'm sorry Ruby. I didn't mean it, I'm just frustrated." she said as Ruby started to sniffle.

Ruby then started to hug Yang, "I'm scared Yang. I don't wanna be alone." she said.

However just as Yang was about to take Ruby back home. They were stopped by the sound of a bird squawking or whatever brid sounds they made. Ruby panicked as she hid behind Yang who got defensive around her little sister. Only for the bird to hide behind the building before a woman with black hair and red eyes came out.

"Two rugrats shouldn't be exploring their own. What do you two think you're doing?" the woman asked.

"None of your business lady!" Yang yelled.

The woman frowned, "Is that really how you should talk to an adult? Especially your mother Yang?" the woman asked. The woman smirked as she saw the confusion on the faces of the two girls, "You don't remember? Of course you don't, you were a little baby before Summer came into your life." she said.

"Who are you!?" Yang asked now sounding panicked.

"Raven Branwen, though you can call me mom." Raven said as she saw Yang's eyes getting watery before the blond girl ran up to hug her waist.

"Mom! I thought I would never find you!" Yang said as she started to cry.

Raven patted the young girl's back, "Well I couldn't let it be easy for you Yang. Clearly you were strong enough to brave the woods. So I can safely say that you passed my test." she said.

This peaked Yang's curiosity, "What test?" she asked.

"The one to see how strong you are Yang. Now, I think it's about time I take you home." Raven said making the little girl smile.

"Really? Come on Ruby! We get to go home with mom!" Yang said only for Raven to stop her.

"Woah, don't get excited there Yang. I'm taking my daughter home. I never said anything about Summer's daughter." Raven said making Ruby look scared.

"But... but you can't take away Yang from me! She's my big sister and she's all I have!" Ruby pleaded as she grabbed onto Raven's skirt only to be pushed away.

"Yeah mom, Ruby's my family." Yang told Raven who scoffed.

"Listen Yang, you two don't look anything alike, you don't have the same mother, and you don't even share the same name. She's Summer's daughter and your my daughter. You can either leave me, your real family or you can stay here and babysit by yourself." Raven explained in a cold tone.

Yang turned to Ruby who reached out to her as her eyes started to water. Her big sister instincts were kicking in and telling her to hold her little sister while telling Raven off, but her survival instincts were louder. Both thoughts were in battle against each other until the next thing that Ruby said made her final decision happen.

"Yang please don't leave me! Nobody will protect me if I'm alone!" Ruby cried as she tried to hug her sister.

To an adult, it wouldn't be selfish as a small child wouldn't typically have survival skills and would need someone to help them grow. However, Yang had truly proven to be Raven's daughter and took the selfish route. Yang gently pushed Ruby away and distanced herself as she grabbed Raven's hand.

"I'm sorry Ruby, but I can't take care of you. I have a real mom and I'll never see her again if I say no to her." Yang said making Raven smile while Ruby looked shocked. "Let's go mom, I can't watch this." she said.

"Ok Yang, you'll forget all about this when I bring out your true potential." Raven said as she used her semblance to open a portal. However just as Ruby watched as her big sister was being taken away, Raven turned her head back to face Ruby, "Take this as a learning lesson Ruby Rose. The strong live and the weak die." she said before taking Yang away with her.

Ruby stared at the same spot feeling stunned that Yang told her all those things. Her big sister threw away her relationship with her and Summer to join a selfish woman who cared little for children and anyone she deemed weak. All for someone who claimed to be her true mother who hasn't decided to enter Yang's life again until now. It was a solid few minutes until Ruby started reacting again when she started to sob.

"Yang... big sister!... come back! Come back! I promise! I promise I won't cry anymore! I promise I won't ask for anything! Please come back! COME BACK!" Ruby cried as she ran around the spot where Yang left thinking the portal would open again. "YANG COME BACK! DON'T LEAVE ME!" Ruby cried as loud as her lungs would let her before falling and sobbing.

For a long time, Ruby lied on the ground screaming and begging for Yang to come back. Crying that she was alone in the dark woods with no way to survive on her own. For if Ruby Rose had any survival skills, she would know that negative emotions and loud noises would attract the natural predator of both humans and faunus.

The Grimm.

For her outburst, Ruby would see a large pack of Beowolf's approaching her and snarling. Ruby's depression would turn to fear as she remembered the dangers of the forest. Her only hope was to run inside the abandon building and locking herself into a closet just as the Grimm started chasing at her. Though it didn't end there, wild they were wild animals, the Grimm were ferocious and wouldn't lose focus on prey so easily as they scratched the door where Ruby barricaded herself in.

All the while Ruby continued to cry, "Go away! Go away! Please don't eat me!" she pleaded as the Beowolf's only snarled and barked at her. "Mommy! Daddy! Someone save me!" Ruby shouted in hopes that someone would come to her aid.

End of Dream

Ruby started to shiver and whimper in fear. This woke up Naruto who noticed that Ruby was wiggling around as if she was trapped somewhere and wanted to escape. The older boy looked saddened as he held her closer and cooed her.

"Big brother." Ruby muttered in her sleep.

"I'm right here Ruby. I'm never leaving you." Naruto told her as Ruby stopped whimpering.

As the two step siblings slept. Yang watched from a small distance as a tear fell down her eye. Her heart panged as her little sister who she hasn't seen in years was only a few steps away. Yet so far in emotional terms. All she could do was plead to her after the initiation tomorrow.

Meanwhile a black haired girl with a bow on her head couldn't help but to look fearful towards Adam. Almost as if she felt like there was a serial killer in the room. The anxiety she gave off made it difficult for her to read her book, let alone be able to sleep tonight.

The next morning

After dealing the daily routine known as hygiene, no one wants to get detailed with that, Naruto and Ruby prepared for the upcoming test. As well as seeing the various people they'll likely meet during their first year at Beacon. Luckily for Naruto, Ruby developed enough confidence and independence to try and socialize with others. The same could be said for Adam, but apparently he was having bad luck with that black haired girl with the bow on her head.

For some reason she kept trying to avoid him. Meanwhile that other guy, Jaune, was trying to flirt or something with that Weiss girl. Only to get rejected as Weiss approached some red haired girl named Pyrrha.

"Well, I might as well give it a shot." Naruto said as he straightened his clothes. He tried his luck with some guy in a black jacket, "How's it going?" he asked.

"Go talk to a wall." the man said rudely.

Naruto blinked in confusion as the man left, "Well maybe the wall has more social skills." he said just as Ruby appeared in front of him. "Well I'm guessing you had more luck." he said.

"Meh, I forgot my mask." Ruby said.

Naruto raised a brow, "Ruby I don't think you need it. There aren't people after you know what." he said as he pointed to her eyes.

"I still want it." Ruby said as she put her hands out.

Naruto sighed as he pulled out a scroll. A literal scroll, putting down his and transferring a strange energy into it. From out of the scroll came a strange mask with a red dot covered in several black lines. Naruto then gave it to the younger girl who grinned.

"Speaking of things you need. Do want to take Morning Star with you are you ok with the old whip?" Naruto asked.

"Nope, old is gold big brother." Ruby said as she caught Yang's attention.

Yang stayed silent as she saw the exchange, "Good girl, I never got to know those old crones but, at least I have you." Naruto said to Ruby as he lifted her hood over her head.

Seeing that display of affection hurt Yang emotionally. She could be seen trying to reach out to Ruby only for the girl to put on her mask and drag Naruto away.

Later

For some reason, every initiate was standing on a platform near the edge of a cliff. None looked anymore nervous than Jaune. However Professor Ozpin looked very calmed about the situation as if he expects everyone to survive whatever danger he is about to put them through. Just before he spoke, Ozpin pulled out his mug of coffee and started slurping.

"Welcome to the initiation everyone. Today you will all be traversing through the Emerald Forest. Before I get to your objectives, you will all be working with a partner. The first person you make eye contact with will be your partner for the next four years." Ozpin began to explain. "Now, be aware that there are a lot of dangers in the forest. So do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path to success." he continued before chugging down more coffee.

Then Jaune raised his hand, "Uh, are we being given parachutes by any chance?" he asked only for it to be ignored.

"We'll at least survive the fall right?" Naruto asked as he was also ignored.

"You will all then head north and collect an artifact. During this whole time you will be graded for your performance. While there are several members of staff observing you, they will not interfere unless it's absolutely necessary." Ozpin continued to explain while noticing he was low on coffee.

"You're going to give us parachutes right?" Jaune asked nervously.

"And ready... set.."

"PUT THE DAMN COFFEE DOWN!" Naruto yelled interrupting Ozpin who looked very annoyed.

Ozpin had replied before Glynda could reprimand Naruto's behavior, "That is something inappropriate to say to me young man. I will certainly not put my precious, I mean, my coffee down. Such ludicrous things you are demanding." he told Naruto before he started to throw every student over the cliff.

For some reason Ozpin felt a little more biased towards Naruto. It was most likely the fact that he dared to interrupt the headmaster's love for coffee. His insatiable love for coffee was something no one is allowed to challenge. It was a lesson that some of the students are now willing to understand.

In the forest

Naruto muttered some curses as he tried to think of a way to land without breaking his entire body. Seeing as he was in a forest, he pulled out a large sword with a mechanism that lets him fire a chain attached to a hook. Using his sword like a fishing rod, Naruto grabbed onto a tree branch and started pulling himself in and landing safely on the ground. Having survived, Naruto retracted his chain and sheathed his blade just as the man in the black jacket from earlier landed near him.

Naruto stared impassively as the man was about to speak. Only for the blond teen to cut him off by talking to a tree.

"Well you saved my life back there. How would you like to team up tree?" Naruto asked the tree which made the man sigh.

"Whatever, let's team up." the man said as he didn't sound too thrilled.

Naruto quickly turned to face him, "Oh so you can socialize." he said teasing the guy. Though it only annoyed him, "Anyways, I'm Naruto Belmont. You have a name or should I ask the wall?" he asked.

"Squall." the man answered.

"Well Squall, from what I understood. The headmaster is a psychopath that has a coffee addiction and throws people off of cliffs. So now we have to play his sick game to find his relics." Naruto said as he took lead.

"Whatever." Squall said as he took his chances with Naruto other than someone more annoying.

With Ruby

Like Naruto, Ruby used something to grab onto a branch to slow down her stop. The tool she used was an old whip that Naruto gave her. It was an old heirloom passed down from the Belmont family and seeing as they had little money to travel with. Ruby decided to try and learn the whip to help Naruto fight. It's saved her life more than once along with Naruto's. Though to be fair, Morning Star is stronger against Grimm, but she didn't have as much faith in it to carry her around like she did with the tree branch.

Seeing that the whip saved her yet again. Ruby attempted to continue her travels while thinking of the many people she could end up running into. Though deep down hoping she finds Naruto first and literally anyone else but Yang. However it appears that her partner was none other than the Schnee Heiress.

Just as Ruby was about to say something the moment they locked eyes. Weiss started walking away from her.

"Hey, we need to team up! The first person you make eye contact with is your partner, remember?" Ruby asked.

Weiss smirked, "Yes, but I can't see your eyes." she said as Ruby regretted putting on her mask. Then Weiss started to feel regret as she found Jaune pinned against a tree with a spear, "No thank you." she said before turning back around and spotting Ruby without her mask.

"You can see my eyes now." Ruby said with her adorable smile.

Weiss groaned as she realized Ruby was the lesser evil, "Fine!" she said.

"We're gonna be friends when this is over." Ruby said optimistically.

Sadly Jaune was still alone and stuck, "Can someone help me get down?" he asked.

Luckily Pyrrha Nikos was nearby and helped him down. It also helped that it was her spear that saved Jaune from being injured from the fall.

With Adam

Adam's landing was a bit more trickier as he didn't have tools like whips or chains to stop himself. So he relied on his reflexes in hopes of landing on a branch or hitting a few leaves to slow down his fall before rolling on the ground to a halt.

"I wish they gave me a whip. Those two are probably having playing archeologist." Adam said as he dusted himself off.

"Look out!" Adam rolled away as he saw a teen with a large pompadour crashing near him.

"Hey you need help?" Adam asked the teen as he helped him up.

"I'm good, my aura helped with the crash." the teen said as he dusted himself off. "My name is Josuke, Josuke Higashikata." he said introducing himself.

Adam nodded, "Adam Taurus, I guess we're partners then." he said.

"Sounds good, so we should probably head to that temple to get those artifacts before the Grimm show up." Josuke said as Adam nodded and followed him.

Back with Naruto

Naruto groaned at his situation, "Don't tell me you got us lost." Squall said with a sigh.

"I didn't, I just need to double check our spot." Naruto said as he ran up to a tree and started to climb it without using his hands.

'Is that some kind of aura technique?' Squall wondered as Naruto climbed to the top and started looking around.

Putting aside the strangeness. Squall decided to lie against the tree with his arms crossed until Naruto finished up. He sighed as he felt like Naruto was taking way too long. Which didn't help as he could sense a lot of trouble was heading his way. In the form of several red eyed shadowy figures hiding in the forestry. Squall quickly reached for his weapon, a sword with the handle in the shape of a revolver, and aimed the blade towards the oncoming swarm.

As predicted, the Grimm had revealed themselves and were ready to pounce on Squall. Perhaps it didn't help that Squall typically had a negative attitude and thought poorly of others. So it was only a matter of time before they noticed him.

'Typical, he leaves me alone to deal with the Grimm. That's just how life is, you can't rely on others.' Squall thought as he avoided a slash coming from a Beowolf.

Squall then ducked and rolled away after another one tried to pounce on him. Seeing his chance, Squall slashed at the Grimm before unleashing a small shockwave that sent it flying. Squall didn't stop to confirm his handiwork as he avoid several more strikes from the wave of Grimm. Seeing as one attempted to charge him, Squall timed it and jumped to the side as he brought down his gunblade onto the incoming Beowolf's head, effectively killing it.

'One down, about four or five to go.' Squall thought as he turned his attention to the group of Beowolf's that are regrouping.

Before he could plan out his next attack. A large cross appeared and slashed over the Grimm and made them all direct their attention elsewhere. Only to be engulfed with several large slashes created by the wind that decapitated most of the Grimm. Squall kept his guard up as he continued to sense more danger surrounding him. Only to find Naruto arriving and piercing his sword through the head of one of the Grimm.

"Sorry about that Squall. I know I'm awesome at fighting, but I also know that I'm lame for leaving you there for a couple minutes." Naruto said as he scratched the back of his head.

Squall shook his head, "Whatever, did you find where the relics are supposed to be at?" he asked.

"Yup! They're near some cave and kept in some stone ruins." Naruto said as he picked up his sword. "We should hurry before time runs out." he said as he took the lead.

Leaving Squall to question his faith, 'I guess I was just impatient.' he thought as he couldn't shake his headache.

"Something wrong buddy?" Naruto asked as he felt something wrong with Squall.

"I'm not your buddy and no, I'm fine." Squall answered defensively.

"Alright, sheesh. Someone's hostile." Naruto said as they made their way to the temple.

With Ruby

Ruby sighed as she stared at Weiss's confused expression, "We're lost." she said.

"We're not lost, I just have misplaced my concept of direction." Weiss said in a snobbish tone.

"Ok we're royally lost." Ruby said as Weiss got angry.

"Like I see you coming up any ideas." Weiss replied.

"I could scout ahead. I'm pretty fast, so I can find the way and back." Ruby said as she used her semblance to move around quickly before unintentionally abandoning Weiss.

"You dolt! Don't leave me behind!" Weiss yelled angrily before realizing that she was surrounded by unwanted attention.

Weiss quickly moved to slightly less crowded area and pulled out a sword similar to a fencing saber. As the Beowolfs started to surround Weiss, the white haired girl closed her eyes and took several deep breaths. As the Grimm prepared to strike Weiss. Weiss kept calm and thought over her previous training before aiming her sword at the first Beowolf standing in front of her.

However, just as she attempted use her semblance to strike it. The Beowolf was hit by multiple knives in the head. The beast's death surprised Weiss and made the girl lose control of her semblance. Making her fire a random wall of ice in another direction. Weiss looked up to see that culprit was Ruby and she continued to throw a single handed axe at another Beowolf's head.

"Sorry Weiss, I think I saw where the relics are." Ruby said sheepishly.

"Behind you dolt!" Weiss yells as she pointed to three Beowolfs that are attempting to pounce on Ruby.

Ruby turned around looking surprised. However, in a blink of an eye, Ruby dashed around several times to avoid the two Grimm. For Weiss, she was surprised by the amazing speed despite the fact that she couldn't see any rose petals on the ground. It was confusing because Ruby still proved to be fast despite not using her semblance. Although, Weiss should have been more focused on the fact that several slice marks appeared on the Grimm once they hit the ground. After that, the two disappeared in a black mist, indicating their deaths.

"Thanks Weiss!" Ruby said happily as if the danger wasn't worth too much concern. Her concern was finishing the initiation, "Let's finish up fast. Big brother is probably already at the relics." she said as Weiss snapped out of it and turned her attention back to the remaining Grimm.

And maybe taking a real study of her partner's skills, 'She's childish, reckless, but skilled and focused.' Weiss thought as she followed Ruby.

Back with Naruto

After making it through several more waves of Grimm. Naruto managed to lead Squall to the path he mentioned. Their progress marker was the cave Naruto mentioned and to be fair, it looked pretty shady. So Squall decided to trust Naruto this once when he mentioned the ruins. Until he heard some screaming from the inside which got the dark haired man defensive.

"What the hell was that?" Squall asked as he felt a lot of danger nearby.

"A stereotypical damsel in distress. You think we should keep going or..." Naruto tried to say only for Squall to interrupt him.

"They took a risk going in there. It's not our job to save the day." Squall said uncaring of others.

Naruto wasn't sure to argue or agree, but it didn't matter as the inhabitants came running out with a giant Deathstalker following them. Along with a large Centinel that popped out of the ground.

"I guess being indecisive is also a bad decision." Naruto said before avoiding the centipede type Grimm.

"Stop talking and start fighting." Squall said as he saw Jaune and Pyrrha lead the Deathstalker away.

"Oh thanks, just run and leave us with the mess you made." Naruto said sarcastically as those two left.

"Why do people depend on each other? In the end you're on your own." Squall said as he slashed at the Centinel and made it leak it's green acid.

"You really are emo." Naruto said as he wrapped his sword's chain around Centinel's head and started pulling it down.

Squall ignored what he thought was an insult and focused on attacking the wound. The Centinel let out a loud shriek as Naruto continued to pull it down.

"Keep it hitting it, I'll finish it." Naruto told Squall as he made a strange shape with one of his hands.

That's when a doppelganger of Naruto appeared. Squall didn't focus on what was going around him as he tried to finish off the Grimm. That was until he sensed danger coming from the doppelganger who made more shapes with his hands before unleashing a powerful wave of fire from his mouth that burned the Centinel alive.

Having dodged it in time, Squall looked back to the doppelganger as it turned into smoke. He then focused on Naruto who was reeling back his chain back into his sword.

"You have more than one semblance?" Squall asked.

Naruto gave a light chuckle, "My semblance is unique, but that wasn't it. This Squall, is a power similar to aura, but it's function is different." he answered.

"So what is it?" Squall asked feeling unsatisfied.

"It's an ability passed down from my mother's family. They call it chakra and it's basically a sword." Naruto said as he puts his sword away. "To keep a long story short and ignoring the boring philosophy. They say aura is a shield that protects you, so that makes chakra a sword because it focuses on attacking. The potential is unlimited, but chakra has more abilities than any aura user." he explained without sounding smug or arrogant.

This surprised Squall, "No limit? Then why doesn't everyone have chakra?" he asked.

Naruto shrugged, "Maybe it's rare, but I know I'm meant to inherit mom's abilities unlike a semblance which is random all the time." he answered.

A few minutes later

Naruto arrived at the ruins he mentioned. From the looks of it, he arrived late as several initiates were already there. Luckily there were quite a few relics left and every pair only needed one.

"Just grab one, it doesn't matter which." Squall told Naruto.

At the same time, Nora grabbed the rook piece and placed it on her head, "I'm queen of the castle! I'm queen of the castle!" she sang.

Naruto decided to grab the black king piece, "No, queen is the queen. The rook just looks like a castle." he said ruining it for Nora.

"Nevermind! I wanna switch!" Nora said as she looked around for the queen piece.

"Nora, it doesn't matter. Let's go." Ren said to his partner only to hear more screaming.

Everyone looked up to see Ruby and Weiss hanging onto a Nevermore. Naruto's eyes were ready to pop out once he noticed his adoptive sister had let go and started falling. Yang was already running at full speed to catch Ruby only for Naruto to jump over her and grab the masked girl in his arms.

"I leave you alone for a half hour and you're riding around Nevermores?" Naruto asked.

Ruby giggled, "I was safe. Right Weiss? Weiss?" she asked before noticing Weiss was still hanging onto the Nevermore.

"Ruby you idiot!" Weiss yelled as she lost her grip and plummeted from the air.

"Oops, big brother I need your help again." Ruby said as Naruto nodded.

Meanwhile Jaune was climbing a tree in an attempt to be a hero, "I got you snow princess!" he said as he caught Weiss in his arms.

Sadly, Jaune's moment of Euphoria ended once he realized he had no way to land without hurting himself. Luckily Ruby was already launched into the air and grabbed both Jaune and Weiss. Then proceeding to land on a piece of the earth that was raised into the air.

"Thanks Naruto!" Ruby said the three were able to safely get down from there.

"Anytime little sister." Naruto said just as Adam arrived with Josuke.

"Are we late? Are there any relics left?" Josuke asked only for Pyrrha to point at the remaining few.

Josuke grinned as he picked up the white king piece, "We did it Adam!" he said happily as he raised the relic over his head.

Adam nodded, "Yeah, you're the... king of the amazing pompadours." he said dryly.

"Haha, I knew you'd come around to loving it." Josuke said as he was sensitive about his hair style.

(Diamond is Unbreakable OST - Fight Fight)

The time for celebrations had not arrived just yet. The Nevermore was still screeching loudly and coming back down to swoop on them. To make matters worse, the Deathstalker that was chasing Pyrrha and Jaune was coming back.

"It's 12 against 2, but we shouldn't get cocky." Adam said as he revealed his sheath to be an assault rifle.

"We're crowded, so we should consider splitting up and picking them apart." Squall suggested as he held onto his gundblade as tightly as possible.

Before anyone else said anything, Centinels bursted from the ground and separated the 12 participants. Everyone was then forced to scatter and regroup with their individual partners. From the looks of things, Ruby and Weiss were stuck with Yang and Blake who were leading the Nevermore away while Jaune, Pyrrha, Nora and Ren were stuck with using brute force to fight the Deathstalker. Leaving Naruto along with Squall, Adam and Josuke to deal with the wild Centinels.

"Ok this is just plain unfair!" Naruto complained.

"I know right? But it doesn't matter, we gotta take them out somehow. What are your semblances?" Josuke asked as they continued leading the Centinels elsewhere.

"A little personal don't you think?" Squall asked as he tried to slash at one of the Centinels.

"It doesn't matter, what does matter is survival." Adam said before being smacked away.

"Crap, I'll distract it." Naruto said as he made more shapes with his hands that created more doppelgangers of himself.

Josuke grinned in excitement, "Cool, you can duplicate yourself?" he asked.

"Yeah, but it's not my semblance. Like I told Squall, it's not aura. What I did is called a jutsu and nearly all of them need me to make shapes with my hands called hand seals." Naruto said as his clones all pulled out various weapons to distract the Centinels.

"He can also control some of the elements. So you can say he's pretty overpowered." Adam said as he recovered.

Squall shook his head, "You're too much." he said as he kept a defensive stance.

Naruto groaned, "Someone's still negative." he said.

"Anyways, I call my semblance Shining Diamond. I basically create these armored gauntlets that let me heal anyone and I can also break and fix virtually anything." Josuke said going back to the topic.

"Mine is called Moonslice. I direct all the attacks to my sword and send the energy it makes back at my target." Adam said.

"I haven't given mine a name, but in a nutshell. I can copy a semblance, but only IF I have a mutual understanding with the other user." Naruto spoke up.

That left everyone with looking at a hesitant looking Squall, "I can sense danger." was all he was willing to say.

Their talk ended once the clones were destroyed and the Centinels burrowed into the ground. Everyone quickly spread out as they prepared for the Centinels to pop back out. Once they did, they started spitting out corrosive acid. Naruto immediately tried trapping one of them by slamming his hands onto the ground.

Earth Style: Earth Dome!" Naruto yelled as the earth trapped the Centinel inside a barrier only for it bust through. "Crap, not enough!" he said.

Meanwhile Adam recklessly tried to block a Centinel that tried to bite down on him. In actuality, he was hoping to gather enough energy to strengthen himself to kill it faster. Then there was Squall who was just trying to climb onto one and stab it on the head. Leaving Josuke to look over the mess of a fight they were all in before he started thinking things over.

"What if... that's it!" Josuke said as he ran up to Naruto first.

"Let's see if this trick works." Naruto said as he threw a knife. "Shadow Knives Jutsu!" he yelled out as the knife multiplied several times.

The Centinel screamed as it felt the knives being stabbed into it's head before trying to retreat back into the ground. Only for Josuke to run up to parts of the destroyed dome that Naruto created. In a matter of seconds, the dome was completely taken apart and shaped into sharp stalagmites that were sent flying and piercing through the Centinel; completely cutting off it's escape.

"Thanks Josuke, now I can finish it off." Naruto said as he wrapped his sword's chain around the Centinel's neck to pull it out from the ground. He then let go if as he heard it screech, "Yeah yeah, it hurts. Stop complaining." he said as if he could understand the Grimm.

"It doesn't have a real body. So how would it complain?" Josuke asked as he ran across from Naruto to keep the Grimm from escaping again.

"Maybe it hurts emotionally." Naruto said despite actually hearing some panic from the Centinel before using all his might to slash the head off.

Having finished it off, the two boys ran to help Squall and Adam, "That was some good teamwork, but we can do better if we finish the rest off together." Josuke told Naruto.

"If you have an idea, I'll hear you out." Naruto responded with faith in Josuke.

With Squall and Adam

(Stardust Crusaders OST - Noble Pope)

Adam found himself having to quickly block Squall's gunblade. The faunus couldn't explain what was going on other than feeling confused as to the sudden attack.

"Hey are feeling alright?" Adam asked.

Squall quickly backed off, "Sorry, that one is on me. My semblance tends to go haywire." he said.

Adam gave him a suspicious stare, "You better remember who your friends and enemies are." he said before having to push Squall away.

"How about you take your own advice and..." Squall was cut off by Adam who jumped away as the acid from a Centinel landed in between them.

Seeing that Adam practically saved his life. Squall stood back up and looked around for the other Centinel only to be knocked away it as it appeared from the ground. Squall shook his head as he put pressure on the side of his head.

'My head hurts.' he thought before avoiding it's next attack.

Before he could strike, Squall rolled away as he sensed more danger coming. Which came in the form of a massive ball of water hit the Centinel.

"Water Style: Water Bullet!" Squall heard a voice yell as another ball of water hit the Centinel.

"What was that?" Squall asked as the Centinel started burrowed itself back into the ground.

"Hey Squall, you still alive?" Naruto asked as he arrived with Josuke and Adam.

"No, I'm a ghost and I possessed my own body so I can resent you." Squall answered sarcastically.

Naruto scratched the back of his head, "Well I guess I shouldn't have asked. Anyways, Josuke's got a plan and I think we should hear him out." he said earning a raised brow.

A few minutes later

Both Centinels appeared from the ground and looked around for potential huntsmen. Only to find themselves nearly being speared by several stalagmites coming from the ground.

"That should distract them. Now we need two of your clones." Josuke said as one of the Centinel freed themselves.

Naruto took a deep breath and created two clones as Josuke suggested. He then sent one with Squall and Josuke to deal with trapped Centinel. Which left Naruto to work on an experimental technique.

"Do you think you can do this?" Naruto asked.

Adam nodded, "I stuck with you this long." was his answer as he held his sword in a defensive position.

Naruto nodded to his clone and proceeded to create a small sphere of chakra. Once it reached enough destructive potential, he dashed at Adam and slammed it into the sword.

"You owe me a sword if you break it anyways." Adam said.

"Don't give me a bill yet!" Naruto exclaimed.

As they argued, the Centinel moved upon them and spit it's acid at them. Only for the clone to let go of the sphere and use itself as a shield. Seeing how close it was, Naruto dropped the sphere as well and quickly moved out of the way just in time for Adam's aura to glow red. In a simple yet quick move, Adam suddenly appeared from behind the Centinel without even facing it and sheathed his sword back into it's hilt.

Another second later, the Centinel let out a quick screech before splitting in half and dissolving into a black mist.

Naruto started panting and he clutched his arm, "I really need to work on that thing. I swear I'm gonna break my hand one of these days." he said.

Adam turned back only to spot something wrong with Naruto, "I think something is wrong with your eyes." he said.

"Eh?" Naruto asked before looking at his reflection at a nearby lake. Only to notice that his eyes were red with with black sclera, "Kishimoto help me." he said.

"You might want to hide those." Adam said knowing Naruto's secret.

With Josuke

"Give me some more earth to work with!" Josuke ordered as they approached the still contained Centinel.

The clone nodded and formed several hand seals before slamming them down onto the earth, "Earth Style: Bedrock!" it yelled as two large walls of stones started crushing the Centinel.

"Now I can make it tighter!" Josuke said as he used his semblance to squeeze it tighter. "It's up to you Squall!" he says to Squall who nods.

Squall quickly extended his arm out and aimed for the head, "Renzokuken." he said as he surrounded himself with aura.

Squall proceeded to strike the Grimm several times before jumping high into the air. Reaching the necessary altitude, he made a diagonal slash that cut through the head head. Finally killing the last Centinel and ending the initiation

"Is that it?" Squall asked hoping for the fight to finally be over.

"It looks like it." Josuke said before hearing the Nevermore's screech. "What the hell was that!?" he asked.

Naruto's clone turned towards the source of the noise to see Ruby piercing through the Nevermore and landing on top of cliff. The clone smiled as he could clearly see that Ruby's group was victorious as well.

"That Josuke, is my little sister." he said sounding proud.

Later

The initiation has ended and about 16 initiates have passed. With everyone being split into four groups. Sadly Naruto was separated from Ruby as Ozpin announced team names. He already named Cardin Winchester as the leader of Team CRDL (Cardinal) and Jaune Arc as the leader of Team JNPR (Juniper). Next up came Ruby's group.

"Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Yang Xiao Long, and Blake Belladonna. You will all be Team RWBY (Ruby) with Ruby Rose as your leader." Ozpin announced.

Although he didn't notice the brief sad look on Ruby's face. Luckily Naruto gave her a reassuring look to keep her strong before his team went up.

"Josuke Higashikata, Adam Taurus, Squall Leonhart and Naruto Belmont. You will all be Team JASN (Jason) with Josuke Higashikata as your leader." Ozpin announced as Josuke looked excited and a bit nervous despite the honor.

"Me really? Wow, I know I was a quick thinker but..." Josuke stopped himself as he started getting a bit sweaty.

"Well we're all individual fighters so someone had to get us working together." Adam said hoping to calm his new leader down.

Later that night

Ruby hanged her arms around Naruto's neck as she lied her head against his chest, "It's not fair." she told him.

Naruto sighed as he stroked her mixed color hair, "I know, but I guess I can't fight the professor on this one." he said sounding remorseful. "But don't worry Ruby, that won't break my other promise. I'll always be there when you need me most." he said.

"Promise?" Ruby asked.

"Promise, you're a strong girl... no, a strong woman Ruby. The world may be scary, but I know you can make it." Naruto said as he could still see sadness in her eyes.

"Ok, I trust you big brother." Ruby said before giving Naruto one last hug.

Once it broke, Naruto quickly pulled out a photo from his pocket, "You might want this too. Just to have some confidence if you get lost." he told her.

Ruby took the photo and smiled as she read the small message behind it.

"If we should get separated, just whistle. I'll come running Summer. I promise."

And the image itself was of Naruto's mother, Kushina, hugging Summer Rose from behind.

"Thank you Naruto." Ruby said as she gained confidence in herself.

In the near distance, Yang watched the exchange but couldn't help but to feel envious and depressed. All she could do was regret the stupid cjoices she made and thinking back to the day her mother Raven made her and Ruby suffer by separating them.

Flashback, the day Raven took Yang

Yang was confused, now that she was with her mother and it got late. Raven just put her in a small tent with a pillow and two blankets. Raven said she can use one as a mattress, but if comfort suits her, then Yang can fight the cold air and use both blankets as a mattress and vice versa if she can't handle the cold.

"But mom, I wanna sleep with you." Yang said.

"In my tent? That's for the leader of the tribe Yang." Raven told her.

"I don't mean that. I mean... can't a daughter sleep with her mom?" Yang asked only to see Raven roll her eyes.

Raven then put a hand on Yang's head and made her look her in the eye, "Yang, you may be my daughter but that is the only reason I brought you here. Because I'm not letting Summer's daughter leave you weak and now that Tai is gone, I won't have to worry about you having the same mindset." she explained.

"But... but... don't you love dad?" Yang asked feeling confused.

"I did, I admit that, but he was slowing me down. While they were all getting stronger, I was being slowed down for nine months and more because my body couldn't handle pushing you out." Raven said making Yang sniffle. "What is wrong now? Don't tell me you have the sniffles." she said sounding annoyed.

"Mom, don't you love me? I'm your daughter!" Yang told her.

"And I loved my brother. Now look what happened to him and my teammates." Raven said before turning away. "One more thing, that's your breakfast and dinner. If you want to be a real Branwen, then you'll learn how to feed yourself tomorrow." she said as she pointed to two bottles of water and a large loaf of bread.

Yang continued to sniffle as water trailed down her cheeks. The little girl proceeded to lie down in her blankets as she started to cry herself to sleep.

'This is wrong. Mom's are supposed to protect their kids, but why does my mom act that way? Doesn't she want me?' Yang wondered to herself. As well as thinking about why does she have to take care of herself before remembering Ruby, 'Ruby! No. No. NO! NO! RUBY!' Yang thought in a panic before running out of her tent and going as far as to reaching the closed gates.

Just as she tried to turn the wheel that opens the gate. Yang found herself being dragged by the back of her hair by Raven.

"What do you think you're doing?" Raven asked.

"Ruby! I left Ruby by herself! I need to save her!" Yang cried.

"Listen here Yang, you are not on Patch anymore and you made your choice. You picked your real family and now you're a Branwen. The strong live and the weak die, so there's no point in going after the brat." Raven said coldly as she gripped Yang's arm and dragged her back to her tent.

Yang used all her strength to pry off Raven's hand but to no avail as she was tossed back into her tent, "You're wrong! Ruby's not gonna die! I'm gonna find and we're gonna be a family again!" she yelled.

Raven scoffed, "After what you said and if that brat somehow is alive. Do you think she's going to forgive you after everything you said to her? You didn't even look back or think twice when you left with me." she said briefly smirking at Yang's reaction before leaving.

Yang just fell on her back as she started to cry again while thinking about Ruby who's all alone and probably crying out for her to come back.

End of flashback

Yang's purple eyes immediately turned blue as tears fell down her cheeks, 'I'm sorry Ruby. I'm the worst sister you could ever have, but I will make it up to you.' she thought before heading into her shared dorm room for the night.

All three unaware of Ozpin who stuck his head out and watched the exchange and reactions, 'This is quite surprising. With Summer and Kushina's children being alive all this time, there's the fact that the boy manifested chakra. Did my magic really evolve that much?' he thought as he slipped his the coffee from his cup. Not really caring how loud it was, 'I should keep an eye on them. Naruto is also Leon's descendant and Salem will only become enraged if she learns that Leon's bloodline still lives.' he thought before leaving... mostly to get some more coffee.

Coffee is power after all.
