This is a short one (sorry), but there is plenty more to come, so please keep reading! Thanks to everyone who reviewed and again I dont own any of the characters
It was early morning and the sun was just beginning to shine through the curtains in Christine's bedroom. She tried to roll onto her back, but felt something hard yet warm lying next to her. Erik lay beside her breathing gently while he slept. His arms were wrapped around her body which she quickly realized was not clothed nor was his. The night they had spent together was perfect, but she knew it couldn't last. It was the day that she was to leave with Raoul for three months and there was no way she could back out of it. He would beg her for a reason why and she had no reason other than she was in love with a ghost. Christine couldn't risk Erik being discovered, so the only solution was to part with him for a short while and when she returned they could pick up where they left off. She just hoped Erik would understand.
Erik had been awake for sometime, but refused to move, afraid that he would disturb Christine. He still couldn't believe what had happened the night before. She had given him something that was beyond his wildest dreams. He had her voice, her love, and at last her body. He felt her stir next to him and then pull the covers closer to her. He slowly opened his eyes and found her staring at him. She blushed and smiled as she averted her eye. He kissed her forehead and smiled back at her.
"Do not be shy with me Christine after last night."
"I'm sorry Erik, it's just I've never... you know" she looked up at him innocently and he couldn't help be mesmerized by her eyes.
"I love you Christine."
"I love you too Erik."
Suddenly there was a knock at the door. They both shot out of bed scrambling to find their clothes. "Just a minute!" Christine said as she through her chemise over her head.
"Christine, it's me Meg. Raoul will be here soon and mama asked that I come help you with your things."
"Erik listen to me," Christine said in a low whisper. "Raoul will be coming for me soon and I...I have to go with him. There is no way I can stay, he won't allow it. I have no excuse not to go."
"Tell him you don't love him and you never will!" Erik coldly replied. He had forgotten that she had promised that boy she would leave with him and honestly he had never really expected her to actually go. Now it was all coming down on him and he could do nothing to stop it.
"Erik I love you and when I return we can start where we left off. I don't want him I want you, but don't you understand he'll never let me go if I refuse him now. I will make it clear to him that I do not want to be in a relationship with him. I promise you!"
He could do nothing, but stare back at her. His heart was at its bursting point and he felt like the world was going to end. Christine kissed him passionately and shooed him over to the mirror. He hardly noticed when the glass slid back into place as he watched her from the other side. She rushed over to the door and let her friend in. He wanted to break through the mirror, grab Christine and take her back to his lair. He didn't know how he would be able to live without her for so long. It would surely kill him. He had to follow her and protect her from that boy. She would come back to him and he was going to make sure of that. He rushed down to the dungeons to get everything he would need to take with him as Christine began carrying her things to the stables. They would be together even if she didn't know it.
Raoul helped Christine into the carriage happily going on about all the places they were going to see, but Christine wasn't paying any attention. Her mind was on Erik and how he would now be alone in his cold dungeons. She hated that she had to leave him and tears began to fill up in her eyes. How was he going to survive without her or better yet, how would she survive without him? She knew what Raoul's intentions were for this trip, but she couldn't bare to think about that now.
"Christine are you alright? Don't cry my dear, you will see your home again soon enough, but right now let's enjoy our time together." Raoul put his arms around her as tears began to fall.
