Hiya! This is a story that I started a couple of years ago. I'm trying my hardest now to finish it. I hope you enjoy it.
Evergreen sat on the floor of her adopted sister's room, cradling her sister in her arms as she cried. "Evergreen?" her sister asked. Evergreen looked down at the raven-haired young woman in her arms. "Hmm?" Her sister looked up at her and there was so much pain etched there that it felt like she had been kicked in the gut. "Why? Why do we have to be alone? Why did they have to go?" Evergreen smiled sadly down at her sister, "Why does anything happen Kagome? Why have I, A demon, been adopted by a human family. I'm sorry Kagome. I'm gonna miss them too." Kagome nodded at Evergreen. She smiled at Kagome and shoved her off of her lap. "Were are you going?" Kagome asked. Evergreen turned back to her and smiled sadly, "To say goodbye."

Evergreen kneeled in front of the great, gray stone and looked down at the ground in front of her. Most of her family was here. Her adopted family anyway. She had no idea who her real parents were. She had no intention of looking for them either. She looked to the gravestone she sat in front of.

Evergreen sighed. All three of them had been killed. They had been driving and a truck driver fell asleep at the wheel. He had died too. Even though Evergreen was upset, Kagome had taken it the hardest, obviously. She cleared her throat, "Hi Mama, Gramps, Souta. I came to tell you goodbye for now. I have a feeling that Kagome will be retreating to the feudal era, and I have no intention of her being without family. I also wanted to thank you guys for taking me in when no one else would. Even though I'm not human and have these…" She broke off, bringing her hand to the large fox ears that rested atop her head, and sighed, "I must've been a pain." She chuckled. "But, you put up with me all the same." She stood up, "I'm gonna go now you guys. I'll always love you." She turned from the grave and walked away, her face shining with tears.

Kagome sat on the edge of her bed and stared into space. She had no reason to stay here anymore. Mama was gone. Souta was gone. Gramps was gone. Her eyes stung and she closed them. It was becoming hard to breath. She had to get away! She leapt off of her bed and started throwing things haphazardly into her yellow backpack. Clothes mostly. She vaulted down the stairs and began filling her bag with foods and cooking ware. She ended up filling two bags with things she thought she would need. She took one last look at the house that she had grown up in before turning around and walking out the door…….and walking straight into Evergreen. She smirked at Kagome, "Where do you think you're going?" she asked. Kagome looked to the ground. "I'm leaving. I can't stand it here without them." she looked up in time to see Evergreen nod. "Kags, just give me five minutes before you leave, I'll be right back." She rushed into the house at an inhuman speed as Kagome looked on in confusion. True to her word, Evergreen returned five minutes later. Kagome opened her mouth when she saw the duffel bad in Evergreen's hand. Her eyes stung and she threw herself at her sister. Evergreen dropped her duffel and held Kagome. After a few minutes, Kagome pulled away and smiled at her. "Well, I guess we should go, huh?" Evergreen nodded and followed Kagome to the well house.
