A/N: Response to Doxymom's 5 min challenge on GW, 'What did John mean to say?'

"What did you mean to say?" Teyla asked, leaning against the balcony.

"When?" John replied, trying to divert the attention away.

"On the Daedalus." Teyla's voice was pateint.

"Well... this is who I am Teyla." John replied. "I'm terrible with this stuff, I can't really..." He trailed off.

"There were things that I meant to say." Teyla suggested, her voice not annoyed at all.

"The thing is, you, are more important to me than even Ronon, Rodney, Elizabeth, or Carson. You are the thing that keeps me going." John's voice was barely above a whisper.

Teyla looked away, out onto the ocean. "I have never thought I would come to rely on someone..." She paused. "As much as I do you. The very thought of losing you is more than I can bear."

John let his gaze drift to the ocean, trying to understand what he was feeling. He relied on Teyla, every day was a day in heaven if she was by his side. Every time she was injured was a day in hell for him. If she was captured and he wasn't, there was nothing that could stop him from coming for her.

She was his other half, a part of him that he could never get rid of. A part of him that was inseparable. He'd never felt this way about anyone. Maybe it was love, he'd heard stories that this is what it was like, but he'd never actually felt it, not until he met Teyla.
