Author's Note- Thank you to those who took the time to review the first ficlet. This one is quite short; because it's actually my first attempt at that 100 word drabble craze that's been going around. Needless to say it came out substantially longer. (I do have some 100 word drabbles done now, but I'll be uploading them as a separate fic because they're not all InuYasha and Kagome related.)

This is a little future fic, kind of sappy… but oh well. (Coincidentally enough, this one reflects on the "always by your side" line as well, but… then again that is the title of the fic collection.)

Ficlet #2

"Fulfilling a Vow"

"Kagome," InuYasha somewhat nervously pulled on the tie that held his hair back in a low ponytail as he entered the room, "Are you... ready?" The dark haired woman glanced away from the mirror, which she had been using to fix the slightly crooked obi of her Kimono.

"You know some traditions say that a man isn't supposed to see his wife before the wedding," Kagome said good-naturedly, then turned around to meet the gaze of her husband-to be. "I'm ready InuYasha, I've been ready for a long time." InuYasha's eyes widened, before his expression settled on a slightly nervous smile. "Are... you ready?"

"Keh- of course I am!" He replied quickly, but without much confidence. Kagome laughed lightly, and reached over to take his hand in hers as he sat down next to her.

"It's okay to be nervous InuYasha," She reassured him, squeezing his hand, and smiling when InuYasha squeezed back. Kagome sighed and pressed her hand deeper into his palm, feeling the many calluses that covered his battle worn hands. In remembrance, her mind flitted back to the first time she'd felt InuYasha's hand in hers in the way it currently was. I'll always be by your side. The decision she'd made that day by the well when she'd first taken his hand echoed in her head. Always by his side, Kagome looked up to give InuYasha a loving glance, which he returned. And today... I'll fulfill that vow and promise to him for everyone to see.
