Bonnie rushed toward the couch to collect her purse and Klaus eyed the witch above the rim of his glass. The young woman adorned a look of pure annoyance which Klaus found rather entertaining.

"Leaving so soon?" He raised an eyebrow at her behavior, loving any opportunity to vex her further, but to his dismay the witch chose to ignore him. Instead, she took her leave and headed for the front door of Marcel's apartment.

Well, this was an interesting development.

Across the room, he watched as Kol exited the bedroom. He provided his younger brother with a questioning look and Kol humored him with a little bow. So Kol had managed to piss off the Bennet witch more than he had.

Klaus finished his scotch and was just about to inquire about what occurred when Kol flashed to the front door to follow Bonnie into the warm summer night.

It came as no surprise that Kol had gotten beneath Bennet's skin. The witch was easily irritated. Yet, Kol had become rather unruly ever since he was undaggered. Sure he had missed decades worth of escapades with enticing lovers, but nobody had expected him to attempt to make up for it in a span of just a few years.

In fact, since his undaggering, Kol had tumbled through countless women, compelling them away whenever he grew bored with them or they became too clingy. Of course, Kol had woken up to a world with considerably looser morals and this made subduing him that much more difficult.

Klaus found the entire ordeal rather inconvenient and a bit of a liability. There were countless instances where Elijah and Klaus had to steer him away from bedding the wrong woman on account of her role in their alliance with the other magical communities.

And yet, both older brothers still responded with leniency. Elijah was simply sympathetic to Kol's insurmountable depravity and Klaus felt a surge of guilt for his part in Kol's behavior (even if he would never truly admit it). Yet, when would Kol's enterprises finally be enough?

Except for a few stragglers, the streets of New Orleans were no longer full of life. She had only gone a short distance when Kol found her and he flashed to her side in a matter of seconds.

Bonnie could smell him before she could see or hear him. The leather and sandalwood danced around the air.

"Great, first an invasion of my mind and now stalking." Bonnie spoke through gritted teeth. She continued to walk toward her destination without looking in his direction.

Kol chuckled and decided it was best to continue his denial about the dream. "I still haven't the faintest clue what you're going on about, love."

Bonnie stopped in her tracks and peered up at him with an unimpressed look.

He took her silence as a means to continue on.

"But you've consumed several libations and quite frankly you have no business walking alone at night."

"Here to protect me from things that go bump in the night? How ironic." Bonnie said sarcastically and he laughed. "I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself. If you don't believe me, I'll gladly demonstrate for you again."

Without even factoring in the aneurysm she had just given him, he knew it was true. She had very well saved the lives of countless people (including herself) on a frequent basis back in Mystic Falls, but New Orleans was an entirely different beast.

"I don't doubt that, darling." Kol admitted, "but tell me, where are you headed now exactly?"

Upon his taunting tone, Bonnie frowned slightly. Kol smirked.

"Back to the manor?" She hesitated, looking down the street. She placed her hand on her left shoulder and rubbed it absentmindedly. Kol's eyes followed the length of her movement.

Was she going the wrong way? Screw it, she would just Google Maps the place. She tapped her phone screen several times before realizing it had died.

"That's unfortunate." Kol remarked insincerely and she rolled her eyes. "My offer still stands, however, I would be happy to escort you."

Bonnie mulled it over momentarily. She could just go back to Marcel's and ask Rebekah to walk her home. As if reading her mind, he shot the idea down.

"You'll be stuck at the party for at least another hour if you seek out Bex."

Bonnie stuffed her phone back in her purse and folded her arms across her chest. Kol smiled and held out his elbow so that she could accept his arm. She eyed his arm wearily, refusing to take it.

"Admit that you manipulated my dreams."

Amused brown eyes met scrutinizing green ones. Kol smiled at her persistence. "Perhaps."

Despite the fact that she knew this to be true, she still felt surprised by the sudden ease of his admission.

"Why?" She questioned with her arms still draped across her small frame.

"Do I need to spell it out for you, love? Why else would I?" Kol stated the obvious rather boredly.

Bonnie frowned, but her heart accelerated a little in her chest. "Well, let's get one thing clear, I'm not interested."

He smiled at her contradiction for her body betrayed her. By the look on his face, she became painfully aware of this so she pressed on.

"Attraction is only one facet of things and what can I say? I'm a multifaceted kind of girl." She elaborated coolly.

Attraction is only half the battle. He thought smugly. "Suit yourself."

"Just lead me there, Mikaelson." She snapped suddenly, growing impatient with his obvious arrogance. To her surprise, he turned around and started to walk away. She blinked at his back.

Was he leaving her to fend for herself after all?

"Well, are you coming, little witch?" He stopped and turned around once more. "It's this way."

Bonnie sighed, feeling far more relieved than she cared to admit. Her feet were on fire. The last thing she needed was to wander aimlessly around New Orleans.

They walked much of the distance in a thick silence. Bonnie noted that Kol was rather protective at times. He made it a point to let her take the inside of the sidewalk, but anytime the pair neared another passerby who was walking on her side of the pavement, he moved in front of her and guided her to the other side momentarily.

She bit her lip. It was uncharacteristically sweet and therefore, she grew suspicious.

They spent at least half an hour walking. The trip could have been considerably faster if he carried her, but he knew that the witch would never tolerate such an act. Her hyper independence had already made it difficult to escort her home in the first place.

Soon, they found themselves in the center of an early morning market. Bonnie stopped at one of the stands which caused Kol to pause in his tracks. He peered over at her to find her rummaging through a rack of some of the ugliest sandals he'd ever seen.

"What're you doing?" He watched as she examined a pair of red monstrosities.

"My feet hurt." She explained pointedly and began conversing with the sales person. She pulled out her wallet to pay. Kol was at her side now.

"It would be a disservice to buy those." He spoke in a hushed tone so that only Bonnie could hear him. She laughed and Kol was pleased by the sound.

"I like them." She shrugged her shoulders. She peered around for a place to sit, but found none. Instead, Kol offered his hand for balance and she caved in and took it. She slipped out of the considerably sexy black heels that had been assaulting her toes and into the significantly less attractive sandals. Bonnie moaned out a sigh of relief.

"Fuck yes." She said under her breath and she released his hand. She looked at him to find that he was already staring at her with an unreadable expression. "Thank you."

Kol nodded in return and pulled his eyes away from her. She collected her heels and the pair continued on to the mansion.

It was almost daybreak when they finally entered the Mikaelson home. She had anticipated him to pester her further, but to her surprise, Kol simply nodded in parting and began his ascent up the stairs to his bedroom. He halted in his tracks however, when Bonnie quickly belted out her gratitude.

"Thank you." She said softly and he smiled in reply.

"No issue, love."

And with that, he was gone.

Bonnie found her way to Rebekah's room and plugged in her phone before heading to the shower. She took a hot bath to tend to her sore muscles and changed into a big t-shirt. When she re-entered the bedroom she found her phone lit up with a notification.

KingKol has requested to follow you on Instagram.

Bonnie laughed at his choice of username and opened the social media app. She half-expected to find him posing shirtless for his profile picture, but was surprised to find a picture of he and Rebekah instead. His account was private so she couldn't see his profile. She stared at the profile picture a little longer before finally hitting 'accept'.
