It had been all but five minutes into her sleep when Bonnie's phone began to buzz. She awoke to find Caroline's name flashing across the screen. What time was it in Virginia - six in the morning?

"Care?" She answered the call, sounding far too hoarse for her liking.

"Hey Bon." Caroline chirped before calling to one of the twin's in the background. "Sit down nicely please or else you'll spill."

"Is everything okay?" Bonnie questioned, wondering why her friend was calling her at such an ungodly hour.

"Oh yeah, I saw you just got back to the Mikaelson's, so I figured you might still be awake."

"How did you-"

"I've been location-stalking you since you arrived in New Orleans." Caroline confessed. Bonnie forgot that she had shared her location with Caroline via phone app ages ago.

"I see." Bonnie rubbed her temples.

"So." Caroline smiled into the phone. "Any updates?"

"Where do I begin?" Bonnie mumbled sleepily. Her mouth felt dry. "I went to an art gala last night with the Mikaelsons."

"Sounds extravagant." Caroline waited for more details. Bonnie perched herself up on her elbow.

"You'd kill for my dress, Care." Bonnie smiled and made a mental note to send her a picture later. "Also, Rebekah's boyfriend had an afterparty. Get this, there were witches, vampires, and werewolves all in the same room and zero drama."

Caroline raised her eyebrows on the other side of the phone. "That's actually very impressive."

"It is. Elijah has been working hard to establish peace for everyone out here." Bonnie smiled at the thought of Elijah's level-headedness. She then thought of his polar opposite brother. "I saw Klaus."

The witch was greeted with momentary silence.

"Did he play nice?" Caroline asked casually and Bonnie chuckled at Caroline's attempt at indifference.

"As nice as he can, I suppose." Bonnie sighed. "Speaking of playing nice, Kol walked me home from the party."

"Is that so?" She could hear the smile in Caroline's voice and Bonnie shook her head in amusement.

"It was sweet, but I also discovered that he was the one responsible for that steamy dream I had."

"Wait what?" Caroline laughed melodiously. "You're kidding."

"I wish I was." Bonnie sighed. "Don't worry, I gave him a friendly reminder to stay out of my head."

Caroline giggled and Bonnie heard a bunch of clanging in the background. "Stop it, now!"

Bonnie laughed. She missed the twins and couldn't wait to see them when she got back. She had to remember to get them some souvenirs before she left New Orleans.

"So, what's the latest with him then? Are you planning on ending your dry spell, especially now that you know he wants you too?"

"I'll be the first to admit that he's incredibly attractive." An image of Kol in his navy suit came to mind. The expensive material had fit his muscular form wondrously. She bit her lip. "But I refuse to be bested, Care."

"You're looking at this the wrong way." Caroline insisted. "It's a mutual win for the greater good."

Bonnie rolled her eyes, but pondered the thought more deeply. The witch exhaled, suddenly feeling more tired. "I don't even know if I want Kol."

"Oh, do you have another contender in mind?"

"Not exactly." Bonnie hated to admit her lack of options, but there was no sense in lying to a friend who could easily see right through her.

"Okay then. Look, whether it's a Mikaelson or some other southern beau, you deserve to have some fun. Why don't you reactivate your Tinder?"

Bonnie stared up at Rebekah's ceiling. She had tried the dating app previously and encountered nothing, but horny men wanting to get laid. At the time, she was looking for something a little more serious and became peeved with her prospects. However, since then, her circumstances had changed.

"Care, I'm really tired. I'm going to get some sleep now, but I'll consider it." Bonnie informed the blonde and Caroline bit her lip with worry that she had overstepped.

"I just want you to have some fun. I love you."

"I know, I love you too." Bonnie took no offense to her friend's forwardness. Caroline was Caroline after all and had proven time and time again that she had Bonnie's best interests at heart.

"Goodnight."

"Good morning." Bonnie joked and ended the call.

The witch laid there momentarily before scrolling through her phone. Finally, she found what she was looking for. She opened Tinder's settings and reactivated her profile.

Bonnie laid back on her pillow, welcoming the sleep that soon creeped up on her. She was utterly exhausted and so much so that she had completely forgotten to perform a silencing spell for her conversation with Caroline.

Down the hall, Kol laid in his bed with his hands behind his head. He had heard the witch's phone ringing and for the better part, indeed tried to ignore her conversation. At the mention of his siblings name however, he listened in. He settled on the fact that it was for familial obligation and due diligence and not because he was an intrusive bastard who wanted to know how she really felt about them.

So she was experiencing a dry spell. How long had it been for her? In fact, how in bloody hell was a dry spell even managable for a woman who looked like that? He took notice of the hungry stares that she collected at both the gala and Marcel's. She even managed to pull off those horrid sandals she had purchased on their stroll home.

One thing became obvious. If Bonnie Bennet hadn't been laid, it was of her own accord. She was selective and rightfully so. The fact that she was so picky only sparked his desire to bed her further. And at the very least, she was considering fucking him. All promises made to his baby sister were out the window upon this news.

Yet, what was this about not wanting to be bested? He chuckled to himself at the unfaltering and infamous Bennet pride. The real fight came from the fact that he was a Mikaelson, her previous sworn enemy. If this was the case, her cozying up to his family might inspire a new and promising dynamic between the two of them.

If he actually chose to pursue this with her, it would not be easy. In fact, it would likely be best to let the pendulum swing. It would have to be on her own terms; she would have to pursue him.
