Magical Alien Summer EP 34: Daring Done?
The sun was shing down on little Ponyvile as Pinkie, who had just pay for a newspaper, leaps onto a bench with a grin. "I just love to read about happy happenings and it's always good to be a pony in the know! You know? And there's so much to know!" "Eh. Seems like a bunch of hooey to me." Rainbow Dash brushes it off as she sat near Pinkie in boredom, to which the Party mare frowns at her fast-flying friend.
"Does 'new shrub in Castle Garden.' sounds like boring to you?" "Snooze." Came Dash's answer as Pinkie responds. "What about 'Parasprite infestation in Fillydelphia eradicated.'? That's great news!" "Another day, another Parasprite hype story." Rainbow is still not convinced as Pinkie frowns in response, not giving up on Dash. "'Noodles Named Official Food of Whinnyapolis.' 'Author A. K. Yearling Announces Retirement.' 'Cloudsdale Election Heating Up for Candidate in Favor of Cooling It Down.'"
"Hey!" They look over to see Dan, flying above with a soda in his claw. "What's up?" He sips on his drink as well. "I was trying to show Rainbow Dash here that the news can be really exciting. But so far, nothing." "WHAT!?" Rainbow cries out in surprise as the 2 were surprised as the Pegasus snags the paper and reads it. "Well, I say it's working." Dan comments as Rainbow spoke out. "This can't be true."
"I'd have never have picked noodles as the official food of Whinnyapolis either, but here we are." Pinkie shrugs out as Rainbow turns back with a worried look. "No, Pinkie! I can't believe that the greatest author and secret pony adventurer of all time, A. K. Yearling... is retiring!" Dan did a spit-take in response to the news.
"What is it, Dan?! Are you shocked as well!?" "No! I thought I tasted orange in my Root Beer. I hate oranges in my soda." Dan replies as he kept drinking as Pinkie nods out. "So very true." But Rainbow frowns out in response.
Intro:
A Galaxy is shown with some planets as outer space music is heard.
Just for a flash of green light to occur and shows the Omnitrix symbol with Dan's silhouette in the middle as the song picks up.
"It started when an alien device did what it did."
The 1st clip is Dan, discovering the Omnitrix as it latches onto his arm as he panics.
He then presses down on the dial as it transforms him into Heatblast as he cries out.
"And stuck itself upon his wrist with secrets that it hid."
"Now he's got superpowers, he's no ordinary kid. He's Dan 10! (Dan 10!)"
The logo flashes a bit, before showing off aliens:
Grey Matter, Overflow, Shock Rock, Heatblast, Tear-Wolf, Goop and Astrodactyl.
"So if you see him, you might be in for a big surprise."
"He'll turn into an alien before your very eyes!"
The boy is then shown transforming into Tear-Wolf as 6 more aliens appear and zooms in:
Goop, Shock Rock, XLR8, Humungousaur, Heatblast and Tear-Wolf.
" He's slimy, freaky, fast and strong, he's every shape and size."
"He's Dan 10! (Dan 10!)"
Just then, a flash-animated Dan is running towards the screen and then flips and morphs into Tear-Wolf.
He bites at the screen as a black and green '1'. appear next to him.
2: Humungousaur is next as he grins and slams his tail down, making a sonic blast.
3: Grey Matter leaps at the screen, only to go splat in a comic fashion.
4: XLR8 appears and zooms away.
"Armed with powers, he's on the case!"
"Fighting off evil from Earth or space!"
5: Upgrade wiggles his legs around as he raises his arms.
6: Shock Rock generates lots of power and blasted a large beam of blue energy across the screen.
7: Overflow flies upward on his water blasts.
8: Astrodactyl displays his whips and then rockets away on his jetpack.
"He'll never stop 'till he makes them pay!"
"'Cause he's the baddest kid to ever save the day!"
9: Goop emerges out of his puddle form and throws a long punch in the air.
10: Heatblast chucks a fireball at the screen as Dan himself lands on the ground with his fist, cracking it as he gives a big grin.
"Dan 10! (Dan 10! D-D-D-Dan! Dan 10! D-D-D-Dan!)"
Tear-Wolf is then shown leaping form some trees as he looks fierce.
Shock Rock poses as he finishes transforming.
Sunset and the Rainbooms are shown powering up into their magic forms.
Heatblast chucks a fireball.
Dan is then shown slapping down on the Omnitrix.
The Mane 6, Spike, the royal sisters, the royal crystal family, Discord, Starlight Glimmer, Trixie and reformed Changelings and Dan in griffon form stood together as they glare at an adversity as the Omnitrix boy just smirks with crossed arms.
Twilight is shown fight a giant bird monster as she uses her Geode's magic to slam it down on the ground.
Humungousaur roars out as he finishes transforming.
XLR8 is shown running on top of water.
The opening finishes up as the aliens all got sucked into the Omnitrix as Dan shows it while green rays came from it as the title appear next to him.
Dan 10: Magical Alien Summer.
Later, XLR8 ran through some woods as he holds onto Pinkie and Rainbow. "So, explain to me again: Why am I running through some unknown woods, carrying you 2 to some random author's place?" "Because we need to get to Yearling's house as quick as possible!" "Dash! A. K. Yearling just retired. Like, today! Are you sure she wants visitors?" Pinkie questions out. "Pinkie, the A. K. Yearling I know would never quit and retire out of the blue! Something could be really wrong, and we need to make sure she's okay!" The Mare responds.
"A.K. Yearling? I heard of that name before. Isn't she the author of 'Daring Do'?" XLR8 askes as Rainbow answers. "Yeah! But she is also Daring Do in real life as well! She just uses the other name to keep her identity a secret, like you." "Oh! That makes sense... I think." XLR8 raises a brow as they came to a stop at a lone cabin in the middle of the woods, just as Dan times out. "Made it!" Rainbow grins out as Dan suddenly felt nature is calling as he grins while holding. "Great! But now, I think nature is calling for me. And I really need to go." Dan took off as Pinkie cries out. "I told you to go before we left!"
Nevertheless, Rainbow starts knocking on the door, but got no response. "Uh, maybe she's not home? Maybe she went to the editor-in-chief of the Ponyville Chronicle to correct the misprint they've made." "Nope. She's home." Rainbow looks back at Pinkie Pie with a raised eyebrow. "How do you know?" "Because she's right there looking all sad and alone." She points in the window as Rainbow gasps out. "I knew it! Something is wrong! A.K.!"
"Now she's sighing with the weight of the world. Now she's hanging her head in utter despair. Now she's shaking her hoof and cursing the heavens like nothing could ever possibly be the same again. Why, oh, why did this happen to her?!" "What?!" "Whoops. Never mind. That time, she was just stretching." Pinkie grins out as Rainbow got annoyed at Pinkie's habit running her mouth off. "A. K., it's us! Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie! Your friends!" The door finally open, showing an Earth mare with a purple cloak black and grey hair and red glasses. She gestures them in as they walk into the house.
"Oh no! Did somepony ransack your cottage again and steal some ancient, mysterious relic that's the key to saving all of Equestria?!" Rainbow asked out in a frantic tone as A.K. sighs out as she kept packing everything into boxes. "Ohh! Sparky!" Looking back, the mare gasped at Pinkie playing with a gold artifact that was surging energy, only for her to knock it into a trunk and shuts it in the nick of time. "Nothing's been stolen." "Then is somepony blackmailing you and forcing you to retire? Cause if they are...!" Dash glares out, just as the door opens as Dan dusts his claws off. "Well, I'm good for the long haul. So, what's the deal here?"
"Who's he?" A. K. points as the kid Griffon as Pinkie pops up next to her. "Oh! Meet our new friend: Dan! Dan, A.K. A.K., Dan! Dan, A.K. A.K., Dan!" Pinkie kept repeating as she pops back and forth between the 2 until Rainbow stops with her hoof in the mouth. "They get it. You can stop Pinkie." "If you want to know why... My last quest took me to a village in Southern Equestria, where I started seeing these." She got out some newspapers as the 3 starts reading them.
"'Wake Of Destruction: Daring Do Ruins Entire Village Marketplace'!" Pinkie reads as Rainbow picks up. "'Dare Or Scare: Local Rogue Daring Do Involved in Frightful Fiasco'?!" "Daring Do Leads Bull into China Shop During High-Speed Chase—" "I get it!" A.K. interrupts Dan as she sighs out. "Everypony I tried to help is mad at me." "That's not true. They're not mad at A. K. Yearling. They're mad at Daring Do." Dan got a deadpan look as he groans out. "Way to perk her up, Pinkie." "Thanks!" The party pony smiles as she didn't understand Dan's sarcastic comment.
"They don't sell my books in Southern Equestria. The ponies there don't know who A. K. Yearling is. They only know Daring Do, and apparently, she does more harm than good." A.K. explains as Dan ponders out. "Well... Not sure how the glasses, cloak and different hairstyle works on hiding your alter-ego, but if a cowl works for Kangaroo Kommando, who am I to complain?" "So, all we have to do is go down there and explain to these ponies that none of this stuff is true." Rainbow smiles, but all 3 were shocked when A.K. spoke out. "But that's just the thing – it is true." "WHAT?!"
"I guess I've always been so focused on saving priceless relics and stopping the bad guys that I never really thought about the mess I leave behind." "Big deal! What's so bad about a little mess?" Dan questions out, only for his wing to knock a vase off a table as he hovers around, making it shatter as the kid looks around. "Uh... That was broken when I got here." Rainbow and Pinkie both raised an eyebrow at him as A.K. continues. "I guess ponies are finally fed up. Either way, I'm done with adventures, having or writing." "Come on! For every one pony who's upset, there must be at least a hundred that know you're a hero!" "I don't think so, Dash." Yearling points out as the blue colored tomboy Pegasus declares. "Well, why don't we go visit this village "Som...nam...bu...la" and see for ourselves?"
"Those articles seem to make it pretty clear how the villagers feel." Pinkie points out with a big smile. "But if we go there, the ponies can tell you in person just how much they appreciate you." "Awesome! Road trip!" Dan grins out as he did a 'rock on' gestures with his claws as Yearling sighs, already knowing the answer.
After a long trek through the desert of Southern Equestria, the group of 4 arrives at a village that has an Egypt vibe to it. It even has a large pyramid as well. "Huh... It's not as hot as I thought it would be." Dan ponders out as he doesn't feel hot or sweating like he thought he would be. "This is so cool! It looks just like that village in your last book where Daring Do recovers the Doomed Diadem from the Wild Bunch Gang, who chase after her through the desert!" Rainbow squeals out as Dan looks unamused and coughs out. "Nerd!" "It should. I based that entire chapter on my experiences here in Somnambula." A.K. explains as Dan's stomach growls. "You girls can chat up if you want to. I'm getting something to eat. All that traveling works a hero's appetite up."
The young Griffon flew over and lands in front of a broken apple cart with an elder pony. "Hey there. Are there any good apples for sale? I'm hungry." "Sorry, youngling. The only apples I got are brushed rotten ones. No thanks to Daring Do! She was the one who wrecked my apple cart!" He gestures as it falls apart. "And priceless sacred statues!" He gestures to a large pile of rubble in town square as A.K. looks down in a guilty manner. But Dan is confused. "Seriously? One pony broke a statue? No way! I don't believe it."
"But it is true! Indeed. Daring Do is a menace who destroys everything she touches!" A hooded pony spoke out as he gestures around as other villagers nods out as well. Rainbow Dash tries to convince them as she cries out. "What?! No! Daring Do is the exact opposite of a menace!" "Ugh! I tried to tell you! Coming back here was a mistake!" She took off as Rainbow and Pinkie gives chase. But Dan just glances back at the rubble and scoffs out. "I still don't get the big deal about this dumb old rock." The old pony gasped in surprise and firmly states. "This wasn't just some 'dumb old rock'! It was the namesake of our town! If you want to understand us, you must first understand her." "Who? Your mom?" "No! Somnambula!"
He then begun narrating a flashback. "Long ago, this village fell prey to an evil Sphinx who demanded most of their crops. Like her fellow villagers, Somnambula didn't have much, but she used what she had to keep others from giving up hope. The son of the Pharaoh, Prince Hisan, was so moved by her compassion that he decreed nopony would go hungry again. But when Hisan stood up to the Sphinx, the beast captured him, telling the Pharaoh the only way to get Hisan back was to solve her riddle. Nopony would volunteer to save the prince. Nopony except Somnambula. Said pony flew toward a temple where the Sphinx and the Prince is, arriving as she confronts the giant winged cat creature.
The Sphinx gave her the riddle. "I shine brightest in the dark. I am there but cannot be seen. To have me costs you nothing. To be without me costs you everything." As Somnambula thought of the hardship she and her fellow villagers had experienced, she instantly knew the answer. "Hope!" She shouted. The Sphinx was so enraged, it seemed she might still refuse to release the prince, so Somnambula asked her for one more challenge. But if she accomplished it, the Sphinx would leave from the kingdom forever. The Sphinx quickly agreed, asking only that Somnambula walk to the prince across a deep chasm... blindfolded! Further, the Sphinx had cast a powerful spell that prevented Somnambula from flying.
But Somnambula never lost hope! She knew she'd need to make a leap of faith to save the prince. Guided by the sound of the prince's voice... she easily made it across. And the Sphinx left in defeat. The Pharaoh asked how Somnambula prevailed, and she explained that she had always hoped she could make things better for her people and that hope had carried her through. The prince replaced the pearls Somnambula gave up with a string of glowpaz. And around her neck, they glowed bright enough to light the entire kingdom."
The stallion finishes up as he took out the glowpaz as Dan observes them. "Forever after, glowpaz became our symbol of hope. Every year, we offer our glowpaz to the statue in hope for a good future. But it looks like we won't be having one now, thanks to Daring Do destroying our statue!" The Stallion frowns as Dan looks between the 2 in response.
Later at sunset, Dan catches up with Pinkie Pie and Rainbow at an Inn, Daring Do stayed before. As the Griffon chomps down on muffins, Dash rang the bell, just as a fancy dressed mare answers it. "Ooh, she's fancy. I got this. A good evening to you, madame. We are but weary travelers, who humbly wish to inquire on the status of a certain mare of intrigue, taking residence here." "Have you been hanging around Rarity?" Dan asked Pinkie as he finishes the last of the muffins. But the mare responds back. "What in Southern Equestria are you on about?" "Is it true that Daring Do stays here?" "Ha! Not anymore, she doesn't!"
Rainbow Dash asked why as the owner explains. "The last time I rented that rascal a room, she was in such a rush to hightail it outta here, she didn't even pay her bill! After that, a band of ruffians showed up and destroyed half the rooms looking for her. Guess she made them even more mad than she made me!" "No, no, no. You got it all wrong." Dash points out. "How can you tell?" "Daring Do was trying to save everypony from the curse of the Doomed Diadem of Xilati. And she was only in a rush because she had to get the crown back to the Tiara of Teotlale before the curse took effect! Chapter seventeen." Dan faceplams as he mumbles out. "She's not going to believe it."
But the mare scoffs out. "Sounds like a tall tale to me. And a hard one to believe, now that I know Daring Do is a scoundrel and a thief!" "Told ya." Dan whispers to the ponies. "Every year, ponies come to offer precious glowpaz to the Somnambula statue in the village in hopes for a good future. Why, that poor fella had his glowpaz necklace stolen by Daring Do just yesterday!" "Hey..." Dan points at the necklace as he sat on the desk. "That's the same necklace the apple cart owner has." "Indeed! It's nice to know some of us still have our glowpazs."
Just then, all eyes were on the hooded figure from before as he announces. "Daring Do ruined our town and stole our precious glowpaz! We need to make sure that if she turns up again, there will be consequences! Everypony who's with me, meet at the statue tomorrow!" "Now I'm getting blamed for things I didn't even do? Why would I steal from them?" A.K. sighs out as Pinkie comfort her. "They are super bad! But we're still staying the night, right? Because I already ate all the free mini muffins!" She chomps the last one as Dan rolls his eyes. "Glutton." "Listen, A. K. After a good night's sleep, we're going to fix all of this. I promise." Rainbow states out.
The next day, the group were walking up to the remines of the town statue as a crowd has already gathered. "I shouldn't be here, Rainbow Dash. This is never gonna work." "Of course, it will! All I have to do is go up there and explain to everypony how wrong they all are." Dash explains to A.K. as Dan had a moment of confusion. "Wait! So, basically the plan is to tell a crowd, who had never even heard of A.K. Yearling or read her books, about the exploits of a character from said books, who had nothing but bad experiences with said character, with no proof or evidence to back up your clams?" Dan crossed his arms in response as Rainbow Dash actually stopped and thought about it for a moment. "Well... It's kind of better in my head." She sheepishly shrugs out as he, Pinkie and A.K. all facepalms in response.
"Here it is! The remains of your– I mean, our Somnambula statue! Now that Daring Do has destroyed it, tell me, where will we hang our glowpaz?" The Stallion from before cries out as Dan taps his chin in response. "You know? I can't help it, but there's something off about that dude. But I can't place my wings on it." As the Griffon glances to the side, he noticed some ponies looking like thugs, sneaking into an alleyway as the Omnitrix boy grew suspicious. "Hey, girls! I'm gonna go check something out. Wait here, and make sure Dash doesn't do anything stupid." He took off as Pinkie and A.K. calls back. "We're on it!" The both frown at the blue Pegasus as she got confused. "What? I'm just standing here."
As Dan follows after the ponies from above the rooftops, being all sneaky like as he kept following. "Something tells me those guys aren't from this village." As he kept flying after, he noticed they entered into a worn-out building as Dan flies into a hole in the wall, landing and hiding in the rafter as he spots a couple more, and to his surprise, to find a sack full of glowpazs! "Glowpazs?" As the kid ponders out, he realized they must the real thieves! He then noticed they left as he lands down on the ground as he frowns out. "So, those guys are framing Daring Do for all the glowpazs being stolen! And I bet they set up everything else to make her look like the bad guy."
As Dan looks around for any more clues, he come across some plans and a crate of explosives as well. The Griffon looks them over and saw the statue from towns square, only it wasn't destroyed. As he looks them over, he saw that as soon as Daring Do crash a wooden cart at the base, the hidden explosives will go off and destroy the statue! "So that's how it was destroyed! I got to tell the others!" "HEY!" He whirls back to his surprise to find the thugs are back. "What are you doing here?!" Dan quickly slaps down on the Omnitrix and turns into Goop. "Aw man! Why do you hate Humungousaur?"
But nonetheless, Goop was able to dodge all the attacks and lashed out his limbs, smacking them around as he also flies around as well to annoy and tease them. "Miss me!" He then did an upside-down helicopter kick that stretched his legs out and whacked them all to the ground. "Got to get out of here!" He flies out of the hideout and rushed back to the others as quick as possible. Only to find them gone. "Great! Now where did they go?" He flies up to the rooftops and runs across them, getting a higher view as he looks around for any signs of his friends.
He then spots some dust clouds heading towards a far-off pyramid. "When in doubt, follow the dust!" He then took off after the clouds, only to time out halfway as he groans out. "Dang it!" Nevertheless, he kept flying towards the pyramid. He managed to arrive, only to pant a bit. Just as Rainbow, Pinkie and A.K. now as Daring Do, emerges. "Where were you?" Dash asked as the kid pants and holds a talon up. "Give me a minute... I flew all the way from town out here." "Well, come on!" Pinkie cries out as she scoops him on his back and took off.
As Dr. Caballeron and his henchponies were making their way out of town, Darning Do confronts them, along with Pinkie and Rainbow. "Not so fast, Caballeron!" His sudden stop, caused the bag to spill open the content as the villagers recognizes them! "You stole our glowpaz!" As the angry crowd gathers around, Daring Do points her hoof at the villain. "I should have known you were just trying to sully my name so that you'd be free to steal whatever you wanted."
"And that's not all he did!" All eyes were on Shock Rock as he walks up and carrying a crate. "Daring Do didn't destroy the statue at all! Check this out!" He tosses the box down as dynamite spills out as ponies were confused. "Dynamite?" "And that's not all! Check these plans out! They tell how to destroy the statue, by wiring hidden bombs in it, so the moment Daring Do bumps into it, it will look like she's caused the destruction! Triggered by someone with a remote control!" He stretches his arm out to the henchpony with the vest and took it, checking the pockets to find a remote control. He then grabs all the bombs and tossed them far out to the desert before pushing the button.
KAAA-BOOOMMMMMM Came a large explosion from the desert as the townsfolk gasped in shock. As Shock Rock then crushes the remote, Caballeron snarls at his minions. "I thought I told you to get rid of the extra bombs!" The minions' shrugs with a guilty look. "I thought trying to sully my name was low. But destroying their namesake, just to frame me so you can get me to lose faith in myself? That's just sick, Caballeron. And before you say anything, know this! I won't let you break my spirit again. Because I'm never going to give up hope that I can protect ponies and ancient treasures from miscreants like you! And don't bother, cause everypony now knows the truth!" Daring Do snarls out as all the townsfolk agrees with her.
As Caballeron looks around and see that he lost, he tries to run away with his minions, but Shock Rock is 2 steps ahead. "Not so fast!" He creates an energy lasso and throws at the retreating villains, capturing them and dragging them back as he wraps around them, securing them as he then hung them by the arch. "You'll pay for this, Daring Do!" He cries out as she and Shock Rock smirks. "Doubt it." "Yeah! Don't worry. You guys can hang out here, until the Royal Guards get a nice comfy cell for you and your buddies, Caballeron." They both fist bump as the townsfolk cheers the 2 heroes.
Later, after the royal guards took Caballeron and his minions away, Daring Do, Dan, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie watched as the archeologist spoke out. "Thanks for helping me come to my senses. You two are true friends." "Are you kidding? That... was... awesome!" Rainbow Dash replies as she somersaults in the air as Pinkie smiles out. "We're just glad you're back to your old self again." "And take it from one hero to another, the reason I always win is that I don't give up, at all." Dan smirks as he points at himself.
Daring chuckles out. "Thanks, kid. But I'm glad I realized that even if you're fighting for something good, you're still responsible for your actions." "And if something bad happens that you didn't intend, you shouldn't give up hope or lose faith in yourself." Pinkie pie adds out. "Yeah! All you gotta do is make it right. Feel free to use that in your next book!" "I think I will."
Back at Ponyville, Dan is walking Twilight back to the portal. "So, did anything happen today that's interesting?" "Oh, you know... Same old same old in Equestria." He shrugs out as they made to the portal and Dan dives in. Just as Twilight went back to the doorway, she heard a knock as she answers, finding a package. "Wonder what this? I didn't order anything. Maybe it's Spike's." As she sets on the Crystal map, she reads to see it is addressed to Dan, making her curious as she decides to a take a peek. But when she opens it, she was surprised to the newest Daring Do book. But she was more shocked to see on the cover is Dan and Goop, Shock Rock and XLR8 as well! "What did Dan do, this time?" She groans out in dismay.
