"Don't you do this to me, Jamie! Don't you dare, do this to me", Cathy screamed before turning away and walking towards the door.

"Cat, stop. Just stop. Please. I don't understand.."

"This Jamie", she began cutting him off, "This, don't do this."

"What? Cathy, just stop and talk to me."

Cathy stopped and wiped away her tears, but would not turn around. She would not let him see her cry.

"You can't love me Jamie. You are my ex-husband."

"I can."

"No!", Cathy whipped around and walked towards him, "No you can't. You only think about yourself. You can't do this. Not to me. Your not the only one who's hurting here."

Jamie didn't say anything. He stood tall, not moving, just looking at her.

Cathy let out an aggrivated screech and turned around, heading towards the door again.

"Why not?", Jamie's voice called out to her.

Cathy stopped just a few feet from the door.

"No", she whispered more to herself then to him.

Jamie's voice softned as he pushed on, "You said that I can't love you. Why can't I?"

"Things just don't work that way, Jamie."

"Thats the stupidest I have ever heard you say."

"Shut up, Jamie!", She screamed, "Just, shut up."

Cathy slowly turned around as a warm tear ran down her face.

"You don't love me."

"I do."

Cathy dropped her head, the tears were falling fast now.

"Why Jamie? Why? Why do you love me?"

"I don't know.", Jamie whispered, "I never stopped loving you."
"What did happened then? Did you forget that you loved me when you slept with Elise? Did you forget that I was your wife?", Cathy shouted angrily.

Jamie' face grew red embarassment.

"What do you want me to say? Do you want me to say that I forgot? Is that what you want? Will that make you happy?" Jamie was on the verge of being hysterical, "Fine. I did forget. I forgot that I loved you.

But then I remebered.

I remebered the love I felt for you, when I saw you on that stage yesterday.

I had forgotten that I loved you until you saw me in the audience and reached for that goddamned bracelet you wear.

You yelled at me, when I caught you trying to avoid me afterwards.

You called me an arrogant ass, and your nose crinkled up, just as it always does when you are angry with me.

I had forgotten. But thats not the only think I had forgotten.

Because until I saw you, for the first time in three, long years, I had also forgotten what it feels like when you forget how to breath. I had forgotten it was like to fight, and what anger was. I had forgotten how butterflies take over your body when you are near someone you love. I had forgotten what it was like to be in love."

Cathy just stared at him in disbelief.

"I hate you."

"I know you do." Jamie said with a smile.

Cathy jumped into Jamie's embrace, and kissed him passionatly.

"I missed you", she whispered in his ear when they finally broke apart.
