Just One More (#2)

Summary: Since deciding to fake his death, Neal has taken on a new morning ritual – watching the sunrise.

A drabble written for the November WC prompt, 'Ritual'.

Neal rose an hour before sunrise, as he had each morning for the last month. The only difference this morning being he was wearing a pair of Byron's pyjama's and matching robe – the ones he had worn his first night and morning here, in the Riverside Drive mansion. Leaning on the terrace's parapet, Neal focussed on memorising every second, every minuscule change of the sunrise. If things went as planned, or even if not, Neal expected to be pronounced 'dead' before sunset and he wanted one more, just one more memory from the place he had come to consider home.

AN: I can't follow the time line (or is that time lines? – It seems to be a very changeable thing) in the canon so quickly gave up trying to figure out the time between Keller's warning regarding the Pink Panthers and Neal's 'death' and decided to go with a month. Maybe it was less? Maybe it was more?
