Growing up…
Even though Ai was with him … the pain in zero's heart doesn't seem to be lessening … He missed Yuki , he missed everything about her and the more he missed Yuki the more he hated kaname like how could he do that … but deep down he knew , this turn of events were not exactly what kaname would have ever wanted , As if Ai could sense that zero was in pain , she started fussing and crying just so zero's mind can be distracted from his thoughts … others could have seen this as coincidence but somehow zero had a feeling that this little one hàs been doing this on purpose … cause as soon as she cried , his mind was brought out of those thoughts and he would start trying to calm Ai down … In some ways Ai was like Yuki , how she is able to sense his pain even though she is just a toddler … "You always do this , huh Ai as if you knew I was sad…my miracle"... Somehow from the first day she was born zero has started calling her a miracle , since that moment decided to live for this little girl , to make the world a little better… it's not like the darkness completely obliterated from his heart… he just felt tired of always being in the shadow … always hating himself and maybe it was because he saw kaname , how his anger and insecurities led to his downfall … But it's not like he didn't understand the pain of his heart as well… Kuran Kaname was tired , he knew it and he felt it but he didn't understand yuki's actions , why did she do that?... But somehow he doesn't know what to think … so he is just doing the best he can , living his life , raising the daughter they both left behind , sometimes he doesn't know what he will say to her when she grows up and asks about her parents , but it will happen in its own time … As he was in those thoughts Ai started making a little fuss…maybe cause she was hungry, so zero made the milk formula for her and tried feeding her but she wasn't accepting any and just cried louder , then he thought maybe she need life energy rather than formula , so he brought himself closer to her and she kissed his cheek to get his energy, and then he realised even if they raise Ai as a human , the fact that she is a pureblood vampire won't change . Just like this few months passed and Ai was now ten seven months old , that day kaien decided to take Ai so that she could visit her parents cause Kaien always that Ai could not be with her mother as he was rather angry at kaname . Ai look , that's your mamaa… isn't she pretty? And that's your father Ai , his name is kaname. Kaien recounted Ai's growing up stories to Yuki and kaname . Alright Yuki Chan , kaname Kun ,I'll see you both later cause it seems Ai needs to sleep now as Ai was rubbing her eyes . That day he just decided to spend there cause he really didn't have any pressing matters to attend and so he told Takuma , you can go and have some rest , I'll watch over these two for you , i think Ai must be missing them as well , i don't why but I feel that way . "You are right chairman , i think so as well , besides i think the atmosphere of this place is happier when she is here , who knows maybe they can feel each other. I hope so too Takun.
Ubeknownst to them , kaname and Yuki's spirit were actually watching over their little girl. "Look kaname , she is so cute, so adorable , look at her little nose , she looks so much like you" "No , Yuki i think she looks like you" "You know i really wanna hold her in my arms" "Yeah same here…" Yuki didn't really expect that from him … It's not like the two of them were completely gone.. sometimes their consciousness resurfaces and they are kind of able to sense or see things around then , just like now.. Yuki looked at him with a smile on her face ," I didn't expect you to be so honest with me" "Huh , what do you mean?" "Nothing i am just glad, you are no longer trying to hide your heart" "I don't think there's any need to now… i already caused enough trouble as it is , all because i couldn't listen to my own heart , so i will never hide anything from you ever again" "I am glad , i am so happy you feel this way , now let's get back to watching our precious daughter" "I never stopped "said kaname sheepishly , "You cheater " "I am not a cheater this time around, i just couldn't take my eyes off of her" "I get what you mean kana" "You are calling me kana" this surprised kaname "I can't believe this , i mean it was just so difficult for you to just call my name simply, now you are giving me a nickname , ohh i love you soo much Yuki " said kaname while hugging her with his whole body… "Hey get off you are heavy , while hiding her face cause she was embarassed… well kaname always showed affection in public but this time it just felt so genuine that it embarassed her , it's like for the first time he didn't have a curtain or things to hide from her , just like he used to when they were younger , she wanted to retort with something witty but as she saw his smile , she just hugged him back tighter i love you too kana , i have always wanted to call you kana and now i can … that day might have been the happiest for them as they got to watch their daughter a lot , played with her, made funny faces to make her smile even if she couldn't see them , it's true she couldn't see them but somehow she could sense them , like a warm breeze on a chilly day, that sort of comfort, and it always made her feel warm and cozy and then she would slip in a peaceful slumber , babies sleep a lot you know . "Sometimes you know Yuki i wish i was the only one here, atleast then you would be with our daughter " "Does it make me a horrible mother if i told you that it would have been impossible for me to raise her without you?" " I am sorry i didn't mean that , i just felt that you had so much ahead of you and yet you had to give up your life " " I don't wanna be in a world without you , i think i told this to you a lot ,but I really meant it , it's true if i knew about Ai i wouldn't have followed you but I didn't know back then " her face was tinted with a little bit of sadness "I am sorry i shouldn't have said that "
" And if i knew about her , all the more reason i wouldn't have let you do this kaname , i would have guilt tripped you into staying with me , hehehhee" "My little yuki has grown so much that she even threatens me " " Yup yup it's called growth you know " Kaname hugged yuki from the back as they watched their daughter together and were thankful to all of their friends for keeping their miracle alive , we love you Ai , don't ever forget that , you are our treasure … with this their spirit lost consciousness yet again …
