Mythological Impossibilities

A series of drabbles with no connection other than the fact that they are all centered around Greek mythology. Working title. No longer being updated.

Title: Gorgons
Length: 100 words
Characters/Pairings: Gaara, Temari and Kankurou. Non-pairing.
Warnings/Notes: The three gorgons were sisters and named Euryale, Sthenno and Medusa. Only the latter was capable of turning people to stone.

There were three gorgons, all siblings, and all hated, but one was hated most of all.

All three, Kankurou and Temari and Gaara, had bronze-plated scales and ripping claws and the half-wings that wouldn't support them in flight, the tangle of hissing, writhing snakes in place of hair.

But only Gaara could kill a person with his slightest glance, freeze the blood within their veins, and then their flesh itself, their breath, their thoughts.

All three were monsters, but only Gaara was monstrous.

Kankurou was cruel and Temari was bitter, and Gaara didn't care. That was somehow worst of all.

A/N: This is a drabble series, currently planned out with sixteen chapters. All will have a general theme of Greek mythology, if things work out as they're supposed to. The next chapter is centered around the Muses. Everyone should guess who gets to be Erato, muse of erotic poetry. (Hint: it's one of the chuunin.)
