Author's note: Rowling owns Harry Potter. I hope you enjoy Harri and Sirius's reunion, this is my first time writing an emotional reunion where the other party thought they would never see the other again. Thank you all to those who favorited and followed after the last chapter!

Chapter 22

Photographs were shot left and right as Harri ran to Sirius. Harri felt happiness she hadn't felt in a long time. She had never imagined that a day would come in which Sirius would be free. Harri forced her short legs to go faster and ran down the steps to the podium.

The crowd parted for her, and they watched as she ran past them to the inner podium where the convicts are held. Sirius noticed Harri running towards him, and for a second he felt fear that Harri wouldn't accept him but seeing her delighted face and tears running down her face he felt that his worries were for not. Not being able to run because of his weak body, he knelt on his knees and opened his arms to give her the first hug in almost ten years.

Harri stretched out her hand so that she could reach him sooner.

Until finally, Harri touched his face to make sure he was real. She was afraid that she would wake up in her flat and have this all be a long dream. When Harri got closer, she embraced him and cried into his neck, years of sorrow over his death finally released in that moment. Sirius held her as tight and close to him as he could and laid his head on her bloodied shoulder; he was terrified that he was hallucinating again in his cell and that his final moments were close by because of the vividness of everything. His hallucinations had never gotten this bad before, and he feared that he was being Kissed and was hallucinating before the end and isn't it funny that his happiest moments in the end was this interaction with Harri. He decided that if he was close to his end, then he was happy that he got this much closure. Sirius closed his eyes and inhaled her scent trying to get as much as he could before everything was taken away from him.

More photographs started to flash around the auditorium. Harri felt a wetness in her hair and realized that Sirius was silently weeping into her hair, and hiding his face not wanting anyone to see him. Harri hugged Sirius more tightly and hid his face into her collarbone.

"It'll be okay, I promise." Harri murmured soothingly into his ear. She also took comfort from her own words. Sirius nodded his head and started to tremble, still holding onto her. Sirius felt lighter getting to listen to her soothing voice up close.

"I won't ever let anything happen to you" Harri brushed his hair with her fingers. Sirius was shocked that his Guardian Harri was still there with him to escort him to the afterlife, but he could finally be with James and Lily.

Sirius felt overwhelmed that Harri was still there with him. He was wary that the hallucination had lasted as long as it did. Sirius was afraid that if he looked at her, then she would disappear, and the hallucination would shatter and bring him with it and end him. Harri released a hand from Sirius's hair and cut a piece of her cloak off with her wand, she transfigured it into a long thin veil that covered Sirius and her, so that no one could see Sirius cry. Sirius felt the veil cover him, and he relaxed. It was time to go.

"Let's go Sirius" Harri whispered. Sirius nodded, knowing that this was it. It was time for him to say goodbye, he has gotten long enough with his Guardian Harri. Sirius turned to look at her once more before the illusion would shatter. He studied her face and mournfully smiled at her. He decided that her looks fit her, she looked like an angel of Death; her long, blood red hair that flowed like blood, green Avada Kedavra eyes, ripped bloodied uniform, and the blood on her face and neck.

Harri smiled at him softly, not aware that Sirius was having an epiphany, and helped him stand up. Sirius carefully stood up, and he thought that the veil was to protect the other dead around him so that they wouldn't cross over with him. Harri took his hand and Sirius followed her through the flashing cameras that he thought was the flashing light of other souls. Sirius drowned out the voices of the other souls begging to be heard.

"Lady Potter! A word for the Daily Prophet!"

"Lord Black! Who will you be voting for the upcoming election?!"

"Lord Black, Will you be taking a wife anytime soon?"

"Lady Potter! A word on what your parents would think about you being in Slytherin?"

Harri ignored them and continue to guide Sirius out and bring him home to rest and eat whatever he could.

As they made it out of the chamber, Sirius was aware that he was still following his Guardian Harri into what he recognized the ministry of magic. Bit weird that the after life took the manifestation of the Ministry of Magic he thought, but he shrugged it off as one of the oddities of death.

As Harri and Sirius made it out of the Ministry of Magic, Harri led them to an Inn where they could rest. Harri led Sirius to an alley where they could get to an Inn a bit faster by taking a shortcut, but they were met with Snape glaring at Sirius and Dumbledore giving Harri a disappointed look.

"Gentlemen" Harri spoke out evenly as she stared at the two men that are ought to give her the most problems in life. With Voldemort, at least she could settle their differences with spells but not with these two wizards.

Sirius noticed that they had stopped, and he figured that the figures in front of him are the undertakers there to take him somewhere else. But as Sirius noticed that the other figure looked like Severus Snape, he let out a sneer at him that was covered by the veil. A fitting job for someone like Snivellus, he thought.

"I am disappointed in you young Harri." Dumbledore stated regrettably.

Harri sighed but bit her tongue.

"Life is full of disappointments" Harri sorrowfully agreed, mocking Dumbledore. Harri kept walking with Sirius and passed by both men not having the energy to deal with them. As Harri was passing by them, Snape lost his temper.

"Potter! Just like your arrogant father! Thinking you own the world, and that the world will just bend to you!" that took Sirius out of his blissfulness, and he stared sharply at the man. Until he noticed that the undertaker might take Snape's appearance, but the undertaker wouldn't hold old life grudges. Before Sirius could defend Harri and James, Harri was already at his throat, but he wasn't surprise because she would be if she was anything like his mother and her grandmother. Harri let go of Sirius's hand and stalked over to where Snape was standing. Harri took her wand out and put up a muffliato to keep Sirius and Dumbledore out. This made Sirius aware that he might not be in the afterlife. He was shocked that his goddaughter had managed such a spell but didn't get in her way of dealing with Snape. His goddaughter was actually there with him. Sirius took off the veil and stared at Harri in surprise and contemplation.

"Just like Potter indeed! Didn't even give you the decency of listening to your apologies after being called a Mudblood" Snape looked like someone has just told him that Lily was marrying Potter all over again.

"Almost eight years of friendship and she wouldn't even give you the time of day to listen to your apologies after a small slip!" Harri cut into him.

"Just like Lily Potter indeed! Cruel, fickle, and shortsighted. I understand that you were tired of being used like a punching bag and didn't want the person you fancy to see you like that! I know what it feels like to be a punching bag! But you only see me as whichever parent suits you at the moment." Harri snarled at him.

"I am nothing like my parents! I would have a least heard you out! Everyone tends to forget that I wasn't raised by them!"! Harri laughed hysterically, bordering on to laughing and choking on tears for the years of abuse that he had treated her with. Snape glared at her, but didn't interrupt her.

"Shall I compare you to your father, Severus?" Harri gave him one last jab and glared at him with tears pouring out of her eyes.

"Abusive, tempered, vicious, cruel, twisted old man! just like your father!" Harri twisted the knife once more, leaving Snape alone to reflect on her words.

"If I'm cold, cruel, vicious, conceited, fickle, arrogant, it's because that's how I made myself. Not because anyone else shaped me to be like that!" Harri hissed at him and broke the spell. Harri stocked over to where Sirius was and took his hand and walked away without sparing Dumbledore a second glance.

"I am sorry you had to see that" Harri said, blowing her nose out on a piece of her cloak that was ruined.

Sirius didn't know what to say, but he did see that Harri had started to cry in the middle of her confrontation with Snape. Sirius knelt down and hugged Harri when the realization finally hit him that he was there with her and that was all that mattered. Sirius cried into her shoulder and Harri soothed him once again.

"I won't ever let anyone take you away from me again." Sirius understood that as being taken away from her like when she was a baby, but Harri meant that as having him be taken away from her by Bellatrix or anyone else.

"Let's go get some food and get you a shower Sirius" Harri patted his back and Sirius nodded at her.

"Sorry, everything has been a rush nonstop today." Sirius muttered.

"First, I'm dragged out of Azkaban, then I'm standing trail, then I'm cursing with my goddaughter, then I think I'm in the afterlife, and then I see you arguing with the old bat and Dumbledore..." Sirius trailed off.

Harri nodded at him understandingly, she also had to deal with everything being changed. Her coming back to her past has not been easy.

"It's okay Sirius, take all the time you need." Harri smiled at him. Sirius nodded at her and took her hand once again before they both entered a rundown Inn no one would think to look for them there.
