Pyramid Base.
The base was quiet, as if it was devoid of human life. While there was some truth to this, the reasoning was that the only Peter was the only human in the base. Slowly he found himself waking up, and looking around at his surroundings.
Empty. Not a person in sight, and the room he was in was trashed, as if someone was leaving in a hurry. He struggled to pull himself from the bed he was on.
"God damn it...how long's it been?" Peter asked himself. He stepped off the bed and immediately fell to his hands and knees. His body felt weak and with no one around to help him, he had to find some way to regain his strength.
He reached towards a nearby table and pulled himself up from the floor to be greeted by a mirror with his reflection. He looked at it for a while until he realized his eyes didn't match in color. One was hazel brown while his right eye was bright red. He then started to remember what exactly happened to his right eye.
"Bison..." Peter was still weak, but felt like he had enough energy to maintain walking around.
Stumbling around the abandoned base for half an hour didn't bring him any closer to figuring out where he was or who replaced his eye. He returned to the room he woke up in and saw a small pile on the opposite side of his bed.
His gear.
Peter took the clothes and equipment and started to put all of it back on his person. Going through each item was how he discovered a folded piece of paper in his bag. He unfolded it to reveal a note.
"Dear Peter, by the time you've read this, the base will have been abandoned or overrun by Shadaloo or Mishima Zaibatsu soldiers. Hopefully the former. No one's heard from Juri in over a year, Wrench went completely off the grid, your parents...lets just say Overwatch are keeping them safe. We need to meet back at my home, I'm sure you know where that is. Be safe, Amélie Guillard."
Reading the note was surreal, more so the revelation of his parents being alive. But now he had more questions than leads. And so far his only one was residing in France.
"Guess I'm heading to Paris. Hopefully Gérard doesn't hit me with a bottle again." Peter stumbled towards a elevator, still weak but not set on a mission.
Abandoned S.I.N Base.
With a simple kick, Juri had broken back into the old base she once called her stomping grounds. It was never a home to her, only a means to an end. And the end was still very far away.
"Jeez, half this stuff is wrecked. Where's Wrench when you need him?" Juri stated, pouting. Last time she saw Wrench, he was preventing her from killing a group of teens, a panda, and a Spaniard in the Mishima Zaibatsu headquarters. She didn't know if he escaped or not, but nor did she care that much. She went deeper into the base.
"Where is that damn machine?" The facility brought back many memories for Juri. Both positive and negative. Yet one memory always gave her satisfaction.
S.I.N Base (1 year ago)
"Hmmm, interesting." Seth said, looking down at Juri from an overhead balcony. True to what she told Wrench, she went right after Seth. And as expected, he was prepared for her arrival.
"Oh Sethhhhhh, where are you?" Juri asked, sounding intentionally insane. She wandered around for a few minutes, practically on the verge of abandoning due to not seeing a living soul in the place. That's when she heard his voice.
"Juri Han." She turned to see Seth floating down from the air, landing softly on his robotic feet. He had a sinister smile on his face, but then again so did Juri.
"Seth. I suppose you know why I'm here, don't you?"
Seth crossed his arms. "Retaliation for Spider-Man...honestly you surprise me. Doubted you'd even care about someone like him."
Juri laughed. "Oh please, you really think I'm doing this for him?! You're an even bigger idiot than I thought!"
"We both know you're not here for Bison. Otherwise you would've been halfway across the world right now...along with backup."
"Like I need backup to kill either one of you losers."
"Seems like you probably would. I mean, according to my spies, poor Spider-Man is barely holding on to life."
Juri was getting tired of hearing Seth talk, and was getting more and more angry the longer he kept talking.
"Shut the hell up!"
"So...you are here for the Spider." The Tanden Engine in Seth's stomach started moving, indicating to Juri he was ready to fight.
"No matter. Once I kill you, I'll make sure I finish the job myself."
"You won't get anywhere near him..." Juri's eye lit up, filling her body with immense power. The two charged at each other, Juri setting up a somersault kick, and Seth planning a shoulder tackle. Needless to say, the tackle pushed Juri back midair.
"You insolent fool." Seth raised his foot over Juri's head, intent on crushing it. Juri rolled out the way last second, seeing the concrete floor crack under the pressure of the stomp. She brought herself back up and got back into her fighting stance.
"I was on the verge of getting rid of all my problems at once, but then you go soft on a superhero?" Seth threw a punch into Juri's direction, but she ducked it and ran in to close the distance.
"Shut up!" In a fit of rage, Juri ended up delivering a uppercut to Seth, catching both of them off guard for a few seconds.
Seth attempted to continue fighting back, but the rage Juri had was only intensified by the Feng Shui engine, and even he couldn't defend against that onslaught.
Juri followed a series of kicks and punches to the Android. She finished off her assault by kicking Seth up into the air with a series of spinning kicks, kicking him back down with a falling kick, and landing and kicking him straight in the spine as he fell onto her foot. She then used the momentum of her leg to throw Seth off her foot and into another room.
The Android was damaged, and Juri was seething upset, so safe to say both of them had seen better days. Seth was struggling to get up, and Juri knew it. She went immediately on the defensive and used her engine to smash one of Seth's legs to pieces, rendering him immobile.
Seth lied on the floor. His programming didn't allow him to feel pain, but rather he knew his time would be up soon. He knew begging Juri was a waste of his breath.
"Are you satisfied?" Seth muttered out. Juri looked down at him, almost in confusion.
"You witch...I knew all along you had no intention of following my orders. I was well aware of your impending betrayal. Especially once Spider-Man became involved..."
Juri started breaking out into laughter, confusing and slightly worrying Seth.
"Please, you're giving yourself way too much credit. Besides this was never about working with that idiot, this was all about pitting you idiots against each other while I cleaned house."
"And you think...I didn't know about the promise you made to his parents?" Juri stood frozen, but still had a look of annoyance on her face.
"You promised them you'd find their son, and in exchange...they help you betray me."
"And they filled their purpose well. Can't say their son was of much use." Seth laughed, which caught Juri by surprise.
"The hell is so funny tin can?"
"He's everything you hate, and yet you two are connected."
Seth was kicked from his stomach onto his back, causing him to look up at Juri.
"Only you have answers he wants... and you'll lash out and-" Seth was interrupted when he realized Juri planted her foot straight into his Tanden engine, effectively guaranteeing his imminent death.
"You talk too much." Juri responded, watching the life ebb away from Seth's robotic body. After a few seconds, she figured he was dead and walked over his body to get to what she came for, before he grabbed onto her leg for one final remark.
"You'll lead them all...to destruction." Seth collapsed. The life in his eyes was gone. He was gone. Juri, confused at the vague message, shook his arms off her leg and continued on, eventually finding the machine that they stuck her into for her eye repairs.
She walked around the machine, running her along it.
"Too bad no pencil pushers are around to give me an upgrade." Juri walked away from the machine and made a B-line for the R labs. She made it, scaring a few researchers. She remembered a few of the faces as they were in close proximity to her eye in the past.
"Everyone has 15 seconds to point me to where the last model of this is..." Juri pointed at her eye "before it gets extremely violent in here."
"I-I-I can-"
"Great. Point it out." The scientist pointed to a glass display on the opposite side of the room, which held the Alpha version of her Feng Shui engine. She walked up to it and tossed the glass case aside, and pocketed the eye. She turned around to see the same scientist again.
"You're not thinking about putting that in, right?"
"Why do you care? You trying to piss me off?"
N-no, its just when we realized that your body could hold more of the power the eye generated, we developed an entire different use for it."
"Didn't ask, don't care." Juri pushed the scientist aside, making her way to the door.
"It could kill you if you don't calibrate it correctly." She stopped, giving the scientist a chance to talk.
"They wanted us to use it to hold a copy of someone's consciousness and load it into the eye. It has lower power than yours, but its one wrong move away from rewriting someone's entire brain functions."
"Then get a safer one jackass!" Juri demanded.
"T-there is no safer ones. Just that." Juri looked at the eye. It had all the markings and symmetry of her current eye, but the iris color was vastly different. She wondered if it was truly worth the risk of overwriting Peter's brain just so he could get his eye back, but figured his parents could reverse the function before inserting it in.
"It'll have to do."
Abandoned S.I.N lab(Present day)
Juri stopped her reminiscing about killing her old boss and focused on the reason she was here.
"If Bison truly was planning Doomsday, there would be information here." Juri deduced. Maybe it was the year she had to reflect on herself or the debacle concerning the Mishima Zaibatsu, but she had become more through when it came to finding out info she needed.
The next hour for Juri was spent looking through cabinets, files, computers, and even abandoned lab coats for any and all information. Eventually a file came up. She took it and sat down in a old office chair, kicking her feet up on a nearby desk.
"Let's see..." Juri started to read the file. "Operation C.H.A.I.N.S? Black moons...Psycho Power...chess pieces?"
Juri figured she couldn't be reading it right, but she flipped the page and sure enough saw an example pf one of the black moon pieces. A chess piece with the shape of a half moon.
"Hmm..."
A ringtone started to play. Juri took her phone out and accepted the call.
"Who is this? This is a private number."
"We're aware Juri Han. But we needed to talk."
Juri sighed. "Wrench, I told you already that I'm not joining your little hero team."
"We are not Wrench." Juri looked at her phone in confusion.
"Right right. Well if you're not Wrench...then who the hell are you?" Juri noticed a long silence before the voice spoke again.
"We are...Illuminati"
