That night, Rocket was worriedly lying in his crib in his room thinking about what his dad and Jupiter had told him earlier that he was gettijg a friend to play with that was in Jupiter's belly as the planet mobile revolved around his crib clutching his moon and star stuffie which Herbert had given him, after making him his lil prince hoping he was still that, when this so-called friend arrived whimpering at that thought falling asleep as Herbert came in to check on him knowing what he and Jupiter had told him freaked him out stroking behind his furry lil ear which always conforted him, when he was scared or upset about something, like getting his flu shot a few days ago.
After a while, he rejoined Jupiter in their apartment, saying that Rocket felt scared about the new cub that was coming making Jupiter understanding and would try to make him feel better about this in the morning seeing Herbert nod falling back into sleep but that morning, they were surprised feeling teeny-tiny paws on their blanket stunned finding Rocket there, guessing he'd escaped his crib impressing Herbert that his lil prince was quite the escape-artist seeing the male-cub grin at his dad's praise, which made Jupiter frown at Herbert encouraging this.
"I think somebody's ready for his new bed, then the new cub will have the crib." she said hearing Rocket hiss which surprised her, Rocket normally liked her until Herbert explained he was anxious about the new cub making her get it as he was on Herbert's side of the bed, feeling Herbert stroke behind his furry ear which was calming him which she didn't know that helped calm him down as they were leaving to get breakfast which might improve Rocket's mood about the cub as Jupiter was going to the daycare after breakfast hoping Rocket might want to see what daycare was like for when he went there to get used to it so he wouldn't be upset guessing Herbert was anxious about this too, which she got.
"We'll see honey, he's gery strong willed once he puts his mind to it." he told her as they ate pancakes after Jupiter had went to the bathroom like always which made Rocket glare at how much she was eating while Herbert was feeding him pieces of pancakes which he was enjoying and distracting him from being anxious about the changes that were happening giggling making Jupiter smile leaving for daycare.
"Why don't we go play for a while, and get some of that wild energy out of you, then we have to have a chat about things that are happening involving June." Herbert told him as they were finishing up breakfast then heading to the indoor playground that the kids on the space-station loved playing on but there was a big-kid one relieved that Rocket had never wanted to explore that one just yet seeing him just having fun knowing later, they'd talk about things plus had gotten his lil prince his toddler bed knowing he'd love it.
While Rocket was taking his nap, Herbert was setting up his big-cub bed hoping he'd love it knowing tonight might be rough for his lil prince but also him seeing Jupiter returning with lunch for them, seeing that Herbert sas setting up Rocket's big-cub bed seeing it looked like a spaceship which would help him warm up to it, hearing that Herbert had talked to Rocket abojt the cub in her belly and that there would be a few changes happening and he and Jupiter would give him or her more attention yet they'd have enough love for the both of them, which Rocket seemed to get relieving him.
"Thank you, Herbie as I was worrying about him while at daycare." Jupiter said kissing him seeing Rocket awake from his nap hugging her tail again like he used to which made her emotional but Herbert was nervous, about how his prince reacting to his new bed despite he had told him about it already
