This story is short, very short, just an idea that came to me sometime ago. Hope you like it.

The new General
The SGC has lost it's General. After ten years in command, Hank Landry had died by a simple heart attack. This made everyone realized how weak the human body is. A lot of important people went to his funeral. Presidents, the Joint Chiefs, Embassadors of Earth and of their Allies came to give their respect to the General.
Even the O'Neill's were there. They had come trough the Gate to say they goodbyes to their friend. And now the SGC was waiting for the new General.
The General would be arriving soon and the rumors were growing pretty fast.
Some people say that Lt. General Jack O'Neill is coming back to Earth. But the ones that know him, know that Jack O'Neill is very happy with his family off-world.
Others say that Major General Samantha Carter-O'Neill is going to take care of the SGC from now on. But the ones that know her, know that Samantha is very happy off-world, where her family is out of danger.
"The General is coming down" one of the Sargeant says.
"How does he looks like?" another one asks.
"He looks exactly as" but the answer doesn't come as the doors of the elevator open.
The Brigadier General looks around. Everything looks the same way, the only thing that has change is the people, but if he was honest with himself he has change a lot since the last time he was between those four walls. He smiles. Jack O'Neill is at home.
