This was sitting in my drafts for a while. My apologies. I was busy with work and working through some depression. It hits hard for this fic out of all of them.

Genesis looked at her packed items before sending them with the laundry, one of their hidden associates was taking it to a plane they'd be stealing. She felt her nerves growing before she rubbed her hands together in thought. She hoped that their plan would go smoothly. It all laid on the type of person that 009 would be. She wasn't working on him, no she had been taken off that duty. The only thing she'd been able to do was design him. She rubbed her hands against her forearms before exiting her room, her hands at her side to stop her from fidgeting. She was on her way to the lab when she watched a few platoons go through the corridor. Adams was starting on his experiment, a part of her worried on how it was going to go. She didn't want him to break the circuits and cause a base wide blackout.
"Doctor Marley," A voice called, and she paused turning to face the one that called her. "You're helping with ourexperiment today."
Genesis looked at Edward for a few seconds before sighing. His smug look let her know that it had been an order from a higherup. There was no escaping such an order. She simply nodded and fixed her lab coat. It was a bit ironic that her coat was given to her the day of their planned escape, or one of their days. They weren't sure that 009 would be up and running by the time they wanted to leave. It was making her head hurt the longer she thought about it.
"Oh," Edward started, and she tensed. "Bring one of your cyborgs so they can see what a true cyborg looks like."
"Right," She dryly agreed, and his smirk increased.
Genesis waited until he was gone to head into the laboratory, the robot sentries not there yet. She had yet to figure them out, it was maddening that they were inconsistent with their security. The doors slid open and revealed the original four cyborgs typing at their monitors, though Genesis was certain that 002 was playing Tetris of all things. 003 had paused in her work and was sending the other woman a sympathetic look. She knew that Genesis was going to struggle with asking one of them to join her, and she didn't want to send her without someone a bit stronger. 003 may have been stronger than a normal human, but she wasn't made for combat. She also wasn't intimidating to the father son duo of scientists. She knew who was though. 004's spine straightened when he felt her eyes on him. He turned towards his fellow cold war cyborg, and she gave him a kind smile. He got a sinking feeling at that smile.
Genesis and 004 walked down the hallways together and she tried to ignore the tense atmosphere between them. Whenever it felt like she had taken two steps forward to become friendly with 004 she somehow took two giant leaps back. A platoon went past them, and he tensed in response. Ah, so that was what it was. 004 was nervous that something was going to happen, and she couldn't blame him there. She watched the soldiers fearfully walk past the man and she winced slightly. That had to wreak havoc on his self-esteem. Being the most modified cyborg of the group had to hurt more then he would ever let on. Or, if he did, he would never tell her. Hell, he wouldn't speak of it if she had the possibility of hearing him.
"So glad of you to join us," Edward drawled, and she stared at him.
He was reminded of when he decided to bother her during their scheduled lunch. The blank stare that held hints of disappointment was enough to make him grind his teeth. The cyborg behind her was staring ahead and Edward stepped down a bit. He wasn't a fool. He knew that the cyborgs had the right to protect the scientists behind their creation, even if it was unlikely that anyone would attack. Those cyborgs cost too much to create for anyone to attempt an attack.
"We'll begin momentarily," Teufel stated, his tone leaving no room for any conversation. "Miss Marley, please take a seat near the desk. Cyborg 004 can stay by the door."
The two were miffed and hid it well. 004 spared a glance at Genesis and she gave him a minuscule nod before doing as she was asked. They went to their spots, and he noted that her body language showed her discomfort. Her eyes were watching the figure in the glass chamber as she thought about what they were truly trying to create. A cyborg demon, something that would cause mindless destruction. The person in the chamber was calm, their dark hair falling into their eyes as they stood there, studying the room. They caught Genesis's eyes and gave the woman a once over. She shuddered slightly; it was best that 003 had stayed in the lab. 004 quickly looked away when she tensed further.
He knew the reason behind her deep discomfort. They hadn't referred to her by her title, the one that she had gone to school for. They called her miss, something that caused her to clench her jaw. It even caused him to tense. That had been a dirty move by them, and one of deep disrespect. He put his hands behind his back and kept an eye on everyone in the room.
"Let us begin the experiment," Teufel announced.
Lab assistants ran around the room pushing buttons, pulling levers, and typing in code. Genesis started to get a sinking feeling in her stomach, and it only grew the more power that was brought to the lab. She discreetly moved forward to put some pressure on it and winced when that didn't help. Her gaze was fixated on the bottom of the glass chamber, there was something on the floor. Something she couldn't quite make out. It started to glow, and her eyes widened slightly. That was the first pentacle of the moon from The Key of Solomon. Just what kind of door was he trying to open? Her frown came back as the sinking feeling turned into a stabbing pain. She had to think. He wanted to create a demon cyborg. Ah, so he was trying to use a real demon for that. Genesis hadn't thought of either man to be an idiot, yet here they were messing with forces beyond their comprehension.
"Increase the power!" Edward ordered.
A switch was flicked, and Genesis felt her body grow cold and that stabbing pain grow worse. She heard several murmurs around her, and she knew that the assistants were starting to sense something. A part of her wanted them to stop the experiment on the grounds that it was too dangerous. She felt the strange feeling in the air get worse and worse as more power was given to the symbol. 004 was on edge, even he could feel something was wrong. Looking at Genesis's face as she stared at the symbol was enough for him to know that things were going to go south, and soon. He discreetly moved closer to her position, and no one stopped him.
A loud crack went through the room and time seemed to stand still. The energy that was being used to open a door had been enough to destroy the glass chamber, and the person inside. Genesis felt herself hit the floor before realizing what had happened. A snap followed her fall and she felt pain blooming from her left arm. She winced in pain when screams rang out in the room, none of them her own. Something appeared above her, and she instinctively moved closer to it as she heard something delicate shattering on the floor. Genesis was having trouble concentrating, her head felt so light and her eyes incredibly heavy.
"Doctor Marley." Someone was calling her, but she was struggling to keep her eyes open.
004 looked around the destroyed lab as he hovered above the unconscious woman, keeping her safe from the glass raining down. She had blood on her clothing. Some of it was from the person that had been in the chamber, quite a bit of it was her own. She was in better shape then Edward, he had been impaled with several pieces of glass while his father had lost one of his eyes. A broken arm and some deep cuts were better than those injuries.
"004, move we need to make sure she's still breathing," An assistant ordered.
He reluctantly did so and watched as they checked her pulse and placed a mirror under her nose. With a few hurried words a few emergency stretchers were called, and he stood guard by her side as the two assistants started to fawn over the arrogant scientists. Genesis opened her eyes and blearily looked around, and he could tell that she wasn't fully there. She looked around until she saw the remnants of the glass chamber. Her expression cleared for a few seconds.
"What?" He quietly asked.
"Whatever came through that doorway was not impressed," She stated in an ominous tone, her expression becoming one of sympathy. "It certainly let them know… that was too much for a warning."
He wasn't one for the paranormal, more like he didn't really believe in it, but something had happened. Genesis was unconscious once more before he could ask. He was aware of the tension in the room, of the energy that seemed to be moving around. Was whatever they summoned still around? Was it in the room? He felt it grow closer and he moved to stand before Genesis. He wasn't about to let 003 down, he didn't know what she'd do to him if he did. He followed behind and watched as the assistants fussed over their bosses.
"Why didn't anyone set her arm?" A gruff looking Doctor snapped at the assistants as the group entered the infirmary.
He put out his cigarette and looked over the injuries that the group had. He poked at Genesis's arm, and she winced in her sleep. He hummed to himself before walking towards Edward. He narrowed his eyes at the blood loss. He had to act quick to make sure that boy lived. He motioned for a few of his nurses, and they quickly sprung into action, their clove shoes squeaking on the linoleum floor. 004 was made to stand by the door and he frowned as the female scientist was taken to a room that he couldn't go into. A nurse on his break walked past him but paused as he noted the blood on the floor.
"Do I want to know?" The American nursed asked and 004 couldn't help but raise a brow. "I thought I'd ask."
The nurse made a face before frowning. He placed his hands into his scrub pockets and smiled at one of his co-workers as she ran past, a serious expression on her face. She reached into a cupboard and pulled out items to make a cast, and a sling. Well, 004 knew where that was going. That put a wrench into their plans to escape, much to his chagrin. The male nurse stopped his co-worker and she glared at him.
"What?" She griped, her Spanish accent strong.
"Is it the cute scientist?" He asked and she narrowed her eyes further at him.
"I can't believe you, eres un idiota," She huffed before hurrying back into the room she had exited.
The male nurse whined to himself and 004 sent him a slightly annoyed look. He was glad that he didn't have 003's incredible hearing. The nurse looked at his watch and quickly moved to enter one of the doors. 004 tensed when he moved towards Genesis's door, until a group of female nurses and a female doctor stopped him with a simple glare. He wisely turned to go into Edwards door. The German cyborg simply shook his head in disbelief. He continued his surveillance of the medical personnel of the compound. A female doctor exited the room, and he noted the blood on her coat. She brushed her blonde hair away from her forehead and turned to face him.
"You can go in," She stated frowning slightly, "I suppose she needs to send you back for you to leave… damn cybernetics department."
004 gave a curt nod of understanding before entering Genesis's room. She was awake again and looking at the light blue cast on her arm, her free hand tugging at the strap of the sling. Her discomfort obvious. She stopped fidgeting when he walked in. The remaining nurses and doctors quickly filed out of the room, disliking the cyborgs. Genesis found their dislike ridiculous. He took a seat by her bed once everyone was out.
"Why not stand up to Doctor Adams?" 004 asked, wanting to ask something else but deciding against it.
"Then I would be giving him what he wants," Genesis answered looking at him in thought before wryly smiling. "People like that act in such a way to get attention, to get the reactions they want… I know someone just like him."
"Oh?" 004 asked, and her expression shifted to show her discomfort.
"My twin brother," She softly admitted. "He acts the exact same way."
Gabriel was far too similar to Edward for her liking. Genesis worried about the few girlfriends that he had over the years. Did they go through something similar? Or was he kinder to them than he was to her. She didn't really want to know, the less she knew about her twin brother's escapades the better. Her expression told 004 all he needed to know about her twin, that and her admittance that he was like Edward painted quite the picture. Her expression changed again to something more thoughtful.
"Then again, Abraham was even worse," she said to herself before tilting her head in thought.
"Quite a few biblical names," 004 commented picking up on the theme that was growing.
"Yes, you have my name, my twin Gabriel, my second older brother Abraham, my eldest brother Ezekiel, my older sister Mary," She listed off frowning in thought. "My mother Eve, grandma Addi, and my… father Jordan."
004 stared at her for a few seconds and her cheeks began to turn pink in embarrassment. He made her more nervous then she thought. An amused exhale came from him, and she watched as a slight smirk appeared on his face. It made her a little happy to see the friendly side of the German man. The door bursting open startled them both and she gave a look of worry when Gilmore stopped to catch his breath.
"I just heard, are you going to be all right?" Gilmore asked, his genuine concern throwing Genesis for a loop before her expression softened.
"Yes, I should be able to leave tonight," She confirmed. "A broken arm won't keep me down."
"No, but the minor concussion might," Gilmore couldn't help but scold.
She sheepishly looked to the side. It felt like she was being reprimanded by an actual father more than a concerned colleague. It was the oddest sensation. The plans needed to change just the slightest. She wouldn't be able to hold onto a weapon to help, or even pilot the aircraft alongside 008. She was practically useless, save for being a hostage of sorts. That could actually work. It was agreed amongst everyone that the changes with the plan would go forward.
