So... hello there for one.
First, I'm seriously sorry this took me so long. But, well... plans kinda changed. This and next chapters' structure shifted entirely from POV Backstory from All Might and All for One to basically insight on RWBY and JNPR and how it affected their lives.
There is still the fourth chapter, but it will likely take place between Volume 2 and 3 instead of before Volume 1 starts. What that chapter shows, I'll keep secret for now.
Anyway, I'm not making you wait. We're starting with Team RWBY so read on and enjoy what I've made.
Disclaimer: I do not own RWBY nor Boku No Hero Academy.
Ruby has always loved Heroes. It's kinda hard not to with her age, and the fact that they do so much good!
Which is why, when she hears about a Huntsman who calls himself a Hero in Vacuo, she has to ask her Sister and Father more. Maybe even Uncle Qrow, whenever he was present.
''Oh, that guy?'' Her Dad casually said, ''Yeah, I heard of him too. Sounds like he's doing quite a bit of work in Vacuo.''
But that was about it. Yang's answer was basically the same, but she was looking more into it. At least, as much as she could.
Until that one Video went Viral online. Ruby remembers how she felt when she saw him.
All Might.
It was slightly blurry, but to this day, Ruby watches it again and again. (So does Yang, but she keeps it more hidden)
A hulking Hero saved so many people from what she understood, had been in the middle of a Storm.
She remembers that laugh. She remembers that smile.
But most of all, she remembers his words.
''It's fine now. Why? Because I am here.''
Ruby knows for a fact All Might became incredibly beloved throughout Remnant, that day.
She also thinks she caught word once that his presence in Vacuo caused the Kingdom to change, though Ruby didn't look much into that.
Something about it finally turning into a more proper place than ever before.
Either way, more info about All Might kept popping up, but generally, not much of this man was known.
Apparently, he had been a student at Shade Academy but then vanished to hone his Semblance to its peak.
And this was the end result.
The strongest man on Remnant. The Symbol of Peace.
His presence alone could calm down people, and make the Grimm itself cower in fear. Even Villains didn't dare cross him!
Overall, Ruby was left awed someone like that actually existed. Not just something out of Comic Books. But in real life!
Which is why she's in awe when she hears those news. Because she was a Beacon student at the time, she was amongst the first ones to learn of it.
''All Might's going to be present for the Vytal Festival?!'' she excitedly exclaims.
Yang chuckled, ''He sure is Ruby!''
Apparently, All Might had planned to visit and simply be a spectator for this event. But he did admit that he would also be there to make sure Vale didn't receive much Grimm trouble during the Tournament.
That alone eased so many, considering what had recently happened.
The Breach wasn't exactly something they could forget. So someone like All Might showing up would ease up everyone.
She looked forward to seeing All Might in person!
Still, Ruby wondered...
She'd read enough Comic Books to know that a Hero was still a person, even behind whatever mask they'd formed.
As this all-powerful being, Ruby wondered...
Who was the person behind the Hero?
Weiss was almost certain that what her teammates considered to be an incredibly good time, wouldn't quite be it.
Not because it would be bad. No. She's sure the Vytal Festival will be a very good opportunity. But... well...
''Something wrong Weiss?''
She nearly jumped when she heard Blake's voice! Weiss was so certain she'd more or less secluded herself. But apparently, she hadn't done as much of a good job as she'd expected.
''Nothing! Nothing's wrong...'' Weiss answered her, but the doubtful look Blake gave her said enough.
''Yeah no. Something is bothering you, isn't it?''
Weiss wondered if she should be truthful to Blake or not. On one hand, she did begin to trust her more. On the other hand...
Well, it couldn't kill her.
''You know how All Might is going to come to the Vytal Festival, this year?''
Blake nodded, ''Yeah. Kinda hard not to hear about him. That man is practically considered a God.''
Not quite literally, but Blake wasn't quite wrong.
He was a sort of Pillar to Vacuo, and to the rest of the World, an invincible Man. And Weiss is almost certain that calling him ''Invincible'' isn't an exaggeration.
At least if those videos that went viral through the Net is anything to go by. Which she absolutely did not repeatedly watch. Absolutely not!
''Well... around that same time, a...'' she hesitated to tell her again, but she was this far into telling her, ''Basically, a Councilman of Atlas is supposed to come here too.''
Blake, although she did have some bias against Atlas for obvious reasons, only gave her a raised eyebrow.
''So?''
Weiss internally grumbled but realized Blake wouldn't entirely know of the situation. She wasn't a mind reader.
''Said Councilman has a... very, and I mean very, negative outlook of All Might.''
Now that did get Blake to be curious. Someone in Atlas had a negative view of All Might?
''And who's that Councilman?''
''Inanis Shigaraki.''
Blake's eyes widened in recognition. Honestly, anyone who kept up with news in Atlas, outsiders or not, would have heard his name.
''He's the one who took the last seat of the Council, no?''
Weiss nodded.
''Yes. And ever since he became a Councilman, five years ago, Atlas has thrived.'' still, Blake could note she didn't look all that... happy? Relieved? Proud? Whatever positive emotion she expected to see was not there.
''By the look on your face, he doesn't seem quite a good person?''
Weiss seemed startled by her words for a moment before shaking her head.
''No. No that's not it... the problem is that I can't keep but remember my Sister, Winter, warned me to be careful around him.''
Blake was curious about what she meant by that, but they were sort of getting off-topic. And Weiss honestly looked gradually more uncomfortable the more she spoke of this Inanis.
''So, this Councilman has a negative outlook of All Might. You're worried the moment they meet, things might not get... pretty?''
Weiss hesitantly nodded.
''Maybe not physically. I honestly doubt All Might would punch him or anything. He's made it clear he fights for Justice. But, that man...''
Blake wondered what Weiss was thinking when saying that. How bad was this Inanis for her to wonder if things would go badly?
Weiss doesn't get to finish, nor does Blake get to ask further, because by that point, they realized they're late for Classes.
So they rushed. But even later, they never truly get a chance to speak of the matter further on until Vacuo and Atlas arrive in Vale.
And by then, too much happened for them to speak of that matter for a long while, until the Vytal Festival.
Although Blake doesn't get the time to ask Weiss, she does get time to talk to Yang a couple of days later.
They're in their Dorms alone. Weiss was out for something unknown, and Ruby was visiting Team JNPR.
Yang's the one to initiate it, however.
''Is something wrong Blake?''
She's startled from her reading in her scroll by Yang's question.
''Is something- No, nothing's wrong.'' she denies it.
''Well, that look on your face really says otherwise.'' Yang points out. Look?
''There's something bothering you, I'm guessing?'' she tries to predict, and is surprisingly spot on about it.
''Well...'' should she tell her? Would it... would it be a breach of privacy if she told what Weiss told her?
Well, she can always just not mention Weiss once in this. That should be fine.
''...have you heard about Inanis Shigaraki?''
As expected, Yang shrugged.
''Never heard of him. Why?''
''I've... been hearings things about him. It's gotten me curious.''
''Is that why you've on your Scroll right now? Looking up things about him?'' she asks before leaning forward to see.
Blake doesn't stop her. Because she is spot on.
''Yeah. But what I've found about him is... odd.'' Blake admits, and upon Yang's curious look, she continued on.
''Apparently, he's an Amnesiac. There aren't any documents about him prior to 5 years ago. Facial Recognition is... well, impossible.''
Yang could see what she meant. The guy was missing most of his face? How's he still alive from that? Makes sense he'd be constantly wearing a Mask to hide his scarred face.
''And Blood testing brought about nothing either.'' Blake found it incredible how that info could be found on the Net of all places. But besides that?
''There's not much else to find about his personal life.''
No Birthday. No extended family. Only a Name, the fact he's an Amnesiac... and a Councilman of Atlas.
''That's... weird.'' Yang lamely says in the end, not really sure what else she could say.
''It really is.'' Blake agreed with her.
Considering how they were on the topic of a Councilman coming, Yang decided she might as well ask her thoughts about the Symbol of Peace.
''By the way. What do you think about All Might?''
Blake remained quiet for a moment, considering if she should even tell Yang at all. But then again, Team RWBY knew about her past so...
''I am... or, really, I should say was, skeptical about All Might, when his presence was first known.''
''You were?'' Yang's curious about that. She and Ruby had more or less just instantly accepted All Might as a paragon of Justice. It did help his feats backed his claim of being a Hero.
And that laugh may have won him bonus points too.
''Yeah. You know how I was once part of the White Fang. We... kinda all shared the viewpoint he was a fraud?''
She wasn't particularly proud of that bit.
Yang nodded along, letting her continue uninterrupted.
''Well... that did change when I actually witnessed All Might at work.''
She can actually remember it vividly. Wasn't every day you saw this bulky of a man move so fast and save so many. Faunus included, but Fang mostly ignored unless they were about to die.
Actually, the White Fang had tried to fight against him. But, as so many said, he was treated as the closest thing to a God for a reason. His strength...
Well, they didn't win. Blake was only lucky she hadn't been caught because she'd actually tried to help civilians caught in this whole mess.
Maybe it was then she began to second-guess the Fang?
''You did?'' Yang said in surprise. Ruby was going to be so jealous!
Blake nodded. But then, the conversation stopped. They really didn't have much else to say.
Still, Yang began to share some of Blake's internal thoughts about who this Inanis Shigaraki was.
Because really, who was he?
And that's it for this chapter. Shorter than I predicted, but well, considering the shifting plans, this was the best for this chapter.
Originally, this chapter was meant to be an All for One POV on how he gets to where he is at. Atlas Councilman and all. But as I began to hit roadblocks, I realized I'd need to shift the entire structure, or else I'd never release this thing.
Don't worry, we're still going to see All Might and All for One. But they're not showing up in person until the Fourth and Final Chapter.
Either way, RWBY's chapter is out. Next up? Team JNPR. Hopefully, it doesn't take me nearly as long and we'll see if it's longer or not. See ya all then!
