(Disclaimer: I do not own Transformers; just Filly.)

(Authors Note: Hello dearest readers, fellow writers, and TF fans of every genera! Okay, so obviously I'm back from working out at sea, and have been back for a few months now. Yes, I should have uploaded this latest chapter sooner but life kept me distracted and I've been focusing a lot of my spare time working on my movieverse TF FF's, yes, FF's as in two. I originally only had the one movieverse FF, but now I have two. Both stories have taken up most of my creativity, but I never forgot this story or my other FF's. I just didn't have as much drive to update them but I'm working on it. Regardless, I hope you all enjoy this latest chapter. Until next time, stay safe, stay sane and stay amazingly awesome!)

Chapter 26

Although spring was right around the corner, Filly continued to frequently nestle inside Jazz's sparkling hold as it was warm and cozy in there. Of course, she also enjoyed the familiarity as it reminded her of all the times she would spend with her birth Carrier.

As for the TIC, he had no qualms with her being in his protective alcove as he enjoyed the additional bonding. At the moment, he was casually lounging in the recreational room with Prowl and several other teammates as they watched a movie on the large flatscreen. Of course, said movie wasn't appropriate for Filly, so she opted to stay inside the sparkling hold throughout the duration of the film rather than return to her room or explore the base. That, and it was late and she'd be recharging soon anyways.

While waiting to fall into recharge, Filly continued to peacefully stare at the large glowing orb that was Jazz's spark: its tendrils flared and pulsed like a miniature sun, but without the blinding sensation. Granted, the light was partially blocked by the protective casing that held it in place, but still, it had a warm, soothing glow that the young femme admired. She liked looking at all the pretty colors and seeing the gentle swirls and flares it produced; however, a closer inspection revealed that amidst said flares was a teeny tiny separate speck of light that continued to lazily orbit around his spark.

Filly's optics widened at the realization: this speck was not just a random flare, it was a new spark! She was going to be a big sister! Staring closely at this teeny tiny ball of new life, she noted that it was about 2 millimeters in size and like Jazz's spark, it was also composed of a mixture of white, blue, yellow and green light. While this new spark wasn't as vibrant as its Carrier's, she knew it would gradually brighten over time as it continued to grow in size.

As she stared in sheer adoration and amazement at this itty bitty speck, Filly wondered if her creators knew about this new spark or not. She figured not, because Jazz mentioned recently that he and Prowl were hoping to give her a sibling sometime. This meant the new spark was so early in its development that it hadn't reached out to form a bond with its creators yet. It wasn't able to cognitively 'think', nor express emotions yet. Right now, it was just a teeny tiny ball of light that hovered close to Jazz's spark as a means to keep itself stable and online.

Remembering the knowledge her birth Carrier once told her about bitlets and sparklings, Filly knew that in a few Earth decades the new spark would eventually grow larger in size and break away from Jazz's spark where it would then move down to his creation chamber and inhabit the tiny protoform that had started developing during the early spark gestational period. However, if something happened to the spark and it was unable to take form inside its new developing body, it would fade and diminish, leaving an empty mass of kibble within the creation chamber. Said kibble would then be purged or broken down and reabsorbed into Jazz's frame, but the emotional toll would be devastating and potentially fatal if his spark was unable to cope with the loss or if the kibble was unable to be reabsorbed or purged from his creation chamber.

If the spark survived the merge and took to the body, its protoform would then continue to develop and grow for the next few decades while the sparkling would sustain itself through an energon line connected to Jazz. The entire process would take about a vorn to complete, but it would be well worth it in the end.

The little femme felt her lower lip quiver and her optics leak in pure happiness at the sight of the beautiful speck of life before her. This teeny tiny swirling marble of light and energy was her little brother or sister, and though her creators were currently unaware of its existence, she already loved and adored this little spark with every fiber optic and shard of her being. In this moment, Filly made a promise to be the best big sister and to always be there to protect, love and care for her little sibling.

After the movie ended and everyone went their separate ways for the night, Jazz and Prowl retired to their room and found Angel comfortably recharging on the berth, to which they couldn't help but smirk. Opting to join the K9 unit, they slipped underneath the thermal blanket and settled themselves down upon the soft surface, to which the TIC then opened his chassis, allowing Filly to crawl out of his sparkling hold.

"How was the movie," she asked with a gap-toothed smile while nestling herself in between them, to which Jazz lovingly tucked her in.

"It was suspenseful but entertaining," Prowl replied with a smile.

*yawn* "That's good. Maybe I'll see it one day."

"Not until you're older," Jazz stated as he kissed her helm before Prowl did the same.

As much as Filly wanted to tell them about the new spark, she didn't want to get their hopes up in case something happened to it. She silently prayed to Primus that it would continue to develop and thrive, but she knew that it wasn't uncommon for a new spark to fade and diminish before reaching out to its creators. In fact, she had learned that sparklings were rare even before the war had consumed Cybertron. As sad as it was, many Autobots and Decepticons were likely conceived after their Carrier's had already lost a spark or two.

With that thought in mind, Filly wondered if the little spark Jazz was now carrying was the first or not. Knowing he and Prowl had been sparkmates for almost fifteen vorns, she suspected that they had unknowingly lost several little sparks during that time frame. She hated keeping secrets, but for Jazz and Prowl's mental well-being, she knew it was best not to say anything in case the worst should happen.

Mentally shaking her helm of such negative thoughts, Filly emitted a yawn and closed her optics while sending waves of love to her Baba, Papa and Angel, who in turn, did the same.

-The Next Morning-

Although her internal clock read 0530, Filly couldn't recharge any longer: she was too excited/concerned for the new spark. She wanted to tell her creators that they were expecting a sparkling, but she knew it was best to let them find out for themselves. That, and she was still paranoid about its stability and well-being. She wanted to check on it to make sure it was still orbiting around Jazz's spark, but in order to do that, she'd have to enter his sparkling hold.

With a sigh, the little femme reached out to him through their bond: ::Baba?::

::Hm? What is it, baby girl?::

::Can I finish recharging inside your sparkling hold? Please?::

::Of course,:: he then opened his chassis for her to crawl into the little alcove, to which she did and sent him a wave of love through their bond as soon as he encased her inside.

Once she was sealed in, Filly immediately focused her attention on his spark and vented a sigh of relief upon seeing the tiny speck orbiting around it. "Hello little spark. My designation is Filly and I'm your big sister," she softly whispered to the tiny speck, knowing it obviously couldn't hear her, but she still wanted to acknowledge it. "You're so tiny. I can't believe how small you are right now, but if you keep getting stronger, you'll grow bigger and shine brighter. I know you can do it."

She smiled at the tiny speck, "You'll love our Baba and Papa. They're the best creators on Earth, which is where we are at the moment. Our kind is from Cybertron, but you'll learn more about our homeworld in due time. For now, I'll tell you about our current home and our family.."

(Another Authors Note: Sooo, was this chapter worth it? Again, I'm sorry for the long delay in updating this story, but like I said, my attention was focused elsewhere and life in general has been keeping me busy, especially now with the holidays and my birthday coming up in a couple days. But regardless, I hope you all enjoyed this chapter as I certainly enjoyed writing it.)
