Melon Chocolate

Ryou had always tried to remain honest to himself, if no one else. He was being completely truthful when he told himself that no, he did not miss anything to do with the spirit of the Ring.

He most certainly didn't miss the tactless "advice", or the hidden packages of white melon flavored chocolate that Bakura had (secretly)been so fond of.

He convinced himself that the empty, dull feeling in his house was actually the feeling of peace he had been striving for. Ryou didn't believe the tears that soaked his pillow occasionally before he slept had anything to do with the sealed away feeling of loneliness, because he wasn't lonely.

So of course, the fact that he had dropped the plate he had been holding to throw his arms around his yami, standing in the doorway and tanned from the scorching temperatures of Egypt, had nothing to do with having missed said spirit.

The brightened, filled feeling in his home? Well, Ryou simply wrote it off as the arrival of spring, and blatantly ignored the fact that it was midway through summer. The large wrapped box of melon chocolate sitting on his yami's bed? He had simply ordered the wrong kind at the chocolate shop, and didn't feel like exchanging it.

He hadn't missed his yami. Nope, not a bit.

It's a shame that Ryou was terrible at lying to himself.

A/N: Phew, my first fanfic .' Not the most original I know, but I decided I might as well attempt something, yes?
