Thanksgiving Surprise-Ch 19

As soon as the doors to the ambulance shut Dave pulled out his phone to call Fran and the others to let them know what was going on so that they wouldn't be sitting there worrying about Penelope, Derek and the baby. After three rings Fran said, "Dave, what's wrong?", he said, "wellll Bella their has been a slight complication and Penelope is still here with us at the sight of the traffic accident".

Fran said, "complication, what complication?", Dave said, "she's delivering the baby right now in the back of the ambulance", Fran said, "she's what?", Dave said, "the medic told us that she was fully dilated and ready to deliver and that she wouldn't make it to the hospital in time so they are still here beside the road, they are delivering the baby as we speak".

Meanwhile, inside the ambulance, Derek takes her and as another contraction hit, the medic said, "pushhhhhhhh Penelope" and push she did and she kept pushing until the medic told her to rest. She collapsed against the gurney and looked up at her husband. Derek said, "you are doing so good baby, so so good" as he kissed her forehead, she smiled and blew out a deep breath as they sat there waiting on another contraction.

Penelope looked up at the medic as another contraction hit, she squeezed Derek's hand as the medic said, "pushhhhhhhh", she pushed and pushed until the medic said, "stop pushing, the head is out, the head is out". She smiled as she sat back against the pillow, she said, "did you hear that handsome?", he said, "I did princess, I did", a few seconds later she was pushing again as another contraction rocked her already exhausted body.

Dave looked at Hotch as they heard the medic say, "pushhhhhhh", Dave said, "poor kitten, I know that she's got to be exhausted", Hotch nodded his head in agreement with the older agent as they stood there waiting to hear the newest member of their family let out his or her first cry.

Fran sat there with the phone on speaker as her along with the rest of the team waited for any word on how Penelope and the baby were doing, Sarah and Desi were sitting beside their mother, they could tell that she was worried and they knew that their was nothing they could do to ease her worry, well at least not until they heard news about the baby and Penelope.

The medic looked at Penelope and said, "alright Penelope, on the next contraction we are going to deliver the baby, are you ready?", she nodded her head and said, "I am sooooo ready for this, I can't wait to hold my baby". A few seconds later she grabbed Derek's hand again and the medic said, "alright, pushhhhhhhhh" and she pushed and pushed until she heard the cries of their first born child fill the back of the ambulance and the area around it.

Dave looked at Hotch and smiled, Fran said, "wait, was that was that a cry I heard?", Dave said, "it was grandma, it was", Fran smiled and said, "my grand baby is here, my grand baby is here and I can't wait to spoil him or her rotten". In the ambulance Penelope looked at Derek and then the medic as he cleaned off the baby an cut the cord, he then held the baby up so that they could see it and said, "congratulations it's a boy".

Derek smiled and said, "you did it sweetness, you did it", she kissed his lips and said, "we did it sugar, we did it and just look at him, he's gorgeous", Derek said, "of course he is, he's my son after all", as tired as she was she was still able to roll her eyes at him. Derek took out his cell and snapped a picture and sent it in a group message saying, "IT'S A BOY", he could hear Dave and Hotch outside the door laughing and saying, "congratulations to them.

The driver of the ambulance said, "we're going to head out now", Dave and Hotch nodded their heads yes and Dave said, "we're on our way Bella, we're on our way" as the call ended, Fran looked at the others and said, "my grandson is here, I can't believe it I have a grandson, ohhhh I can't wait to see him and hold him", everybody looked at each other and smiled now all they could do was sit and wait on Penelope and baby boy Morgan to arrive at the hospital.
