Disclaimer: I do not own Stargate Atantis. (Can I say it any simpler then that.)
A/N: Well, I hope you like the story.

"You did what!" Rodney gulped and tried to scamper away before John got too close.
"Really it was an accident…scientific purposes only!" Rodney stuttered. John advanced upon him and Rodney ducked behind his desk for dear life.
"Rodney?" John called even though he knew exactly where the scientist was hiding.
"I wouldn't call using a drug that makes everyone around you turn into crazy," John looked behind the desk and Rodney scuttled around to the other side on all fours. "airheads that you could control…an accident!"
"I didn't mean it to happen like that!" Rodney squeaked.
"Oh, you didn't!" John said his voice brittle. This was worse then when he blew up part of a galaxy. Not saying that wasn't bad, he had lost a man under his command but at least Sheppard wasn't like a homicidal maniac then.
"Stay there." Rodney reasoned as he got up from the desk he had been hiding behind. "I'm sure we can work this out."
John smiled menacingly. "Sure, McKay, why don't you come over here?"
Rodney gulped. This was bad. Very bad. John didn't smile like that unless he was really mad. Really really mad.
"We are both reasonable adults." He said his voice wavering.
"Oh is that right?" John smirked viciously. "If that were true then you would never have used Lucius's potion."
Now, Rodney knew there was something defiantly wrong.
"Do you know what?" Rodney said noticing his voice quivered a bit.
Maybe it would just be a better idea to shut up and try to escape. The door was only about three strides away. But John could out run him any day.
"What?" John echoed cruelly.
No way to back out now. He dove into speech before the more logical half of him could stop him. "I think that you are not feeling right. Just look at yourself. Usually you're a pretty good guy. Eccentric yes. Suicidal most defiantly. The Colonel Sheppard I know would never act like this."
He saw something in Sheppard's eyes. A something that could only have been the annoying Colonel everybody knew and loved.
"Rodney?" John asked shaking his head.
"Yes, that's me." Rodney said irritated.
John cocked his head as if trying to figure something out.
"Well!" Rodney exclaimed a bit miffed. "I think this deserves an apology."
"You're the one that should be apologizing." John glared.
"But…but…you nearly tried to kill me." Rodney squeaked.
"Fine." John sighed, "I wasn't thinking right. Actually, for the first time in my life I don't think I was thinking at all. It's just…
that it really bothers me that you used the drug. Because I and you know that everyone was treated accept for me."
Rodney looked at John. There were very few times when Sheppard would actually come out and say his feelings. And when he did Rodney couldn't help but feel flabbergasted.
"Well...I didn't know you felt this way." Rodney said.
"Come on Rodney."
"Yes yes…fine. I'm sorry. Are you happy now?" Rodney said tersely.
"Happy is not the way I would put it." John replied.
After a bit of uncomfortable silence, Rodney asked. "Will you go now? I have lots of work to do."
John started to walk away. He turned around briefly. "Oh and Rodney."
Rodney gulped. "Yes."
"Never pull a stunt like that again." And with that he was gone.
Rodney sighed in relief. He thought would have got a lecture on trust. But he didn't. Sheppard didn't have to say anything. Rodney already knew it would be awhile before John trusted him again.
Please please please reveiw! I was a little worried that John and Rodney were out of charactor. It would really help if I knew your opinion.
