By all accounts, in all of his lifetimes, and all his struggles. This was the lowest V had ever been brought. Not only had he been stopped from returning to his former glory. He was now forced to serve the man he wished to oppose, it gave him a sense of Deja Vu. He was given two choices, fight Urizen and perish, or try to expose Gendo, be branded a liar and traitor, then perish. So, here he was, forced to keep his mouth shut and follow orders to remain in the Geofront. Truly, this was the lowest he'd been brought...

Aboard the ship, Over The Rainbow. Things were not going quite as planned for The Second Child... She tried using the backdoor she had into the MAGI to figure out why everything was on lockdown in the system. But that only lead to her being flagged and her account being bricked. And as if that wasn't enough, the Third Child had turned out be spineless and rather meek. A far cry from the unstoppable Angel killer she had imagined, but what did she expect, to be honest? The universe was conspiring against her search for knowledge and her expectations.

Dante had a brilliant idea. A wonderful idea. The best idea he could have ever had in his entire life. He found himself hungry and wanted to get some pizza, but he remembered his tab. Then he remembered he was on the other side of the world, he had no tab, he could order whatever the goddamn hell he pleased and no one had the power to stop him. Truly, his power had become unlimited... That was until Nero stopped him from making the call by snatching the phone from him.
"The hell you think you're doing, old man? Just cuz you got away from one tab doesn't mean you can pile on another."
Dante switched on his best puppy eyes and looked pleadingly at Nero
"Ah, come on! Please? I promise I won't order over ten pizzas!"
Nero just glared at him
"You said that last time *I* paid off your tab. Which, by the way, you still haven't paid me back for. So, for your own sake, you better not get into anymore debt."
Nero made it clear that was the end of the conversation. He put the phone back in the receiver and for good measure took away the coins Dante had lined up and stomped away.
"I'm going outside, don't do anything stupid while I'll gone."
Nero said, taking the elevator up to the surface. Dante sighed, finally, no one was on his tail. He wasn't actually planning on drowning himself in debt, but he needed something to make sure the kid was gone while this all went down. And with the Commander and the creepy blue-haired girl busy, he could talk to V without anyone interfering. Last he'd seen the mage, he was stomping to Gendo's office, but now he had barely left his room and none of Section-2 was... Very forthcoming. So he'd resorted to talking to V himself. There had to he something bigger going on here, would Demons and giant monsters start attacking the exact same spot for no reason? Hell no, there were still secrets that damn liar kept, and he was going to find them out, one way or another...

Well, this was a fine mess. It was humiliating, dangerous, and difficult. Shinji had been forced to wear the same plug suit as Asuka and now they were underwater fighting a giant sea monster Angel, he half expected Santa Claus to show up next and start throwing explosive presents at them, but unfortunately, weirdness had a limit. And the cable started to be reeled back again and Unit-02 and the Angel started to be propelled through the water, he knew he was in for a terrible experience...
10:36 AM
V paced back and forth in his room, trying to figure out something, anything. A knock on his door snapped him out of his thoughts and he reluctantly opened it, there he found Dante standing before he briskly walked in
"Alright, listen V. I gotta talk to you, something's not right here."
V shut the door and looked at Dante, his thoughts became jumbled. Did Dante know? Was he trying to gain information about the Angels? Or about Urizen?
"Speak, what is on your mind?"
He said, hiding the concern that threatened to seep into his voice
"Do you think the Commander is trustworthy?"
That question surprised V, and he answered... Untruthfully
"I think, for the time being, we should work togeth-"
"Don't bullshit me."
Dante suddenly interrupted, V saw his face had hardened, and the carefree persona had been thrown away
"You think a little fight could have remedied what he'd done to me? Never. I know what's he's capable of, and right now, I present myself as not a threat. But I need to know what's happening here and why the Angels, or rather our buddy the Demon King conveniently set up shop here. So, spit it out."
V was stunned, he thought he and Gendo were the only ones at each other's throats. But in truth, Dante was a better false facer than he ever could have imagined. Not only did he fool everyone into thinking he was harmless, he had played the Commander, something V could never accomplish
"Fine. I'll tell you, but we need to work together if we're going to get through this."
Dante nodded his head, and V sighed. Where to begin?
10:45 AM
The Commander of NERV sat in his office, his hands steepled in front of his face. He was deep in thought, he had stopped V, but how long until he tried again? Truth be told, the only reason he was still alive was because he found him still useful, but he could not, under any circumstances let him become whole again, if SEELE found out their biggest threat had come back, he and all of NERV were, for lack of a better word, well and truly fucked. Right now, he called Rei into his office because he found out V had spoken to her, and he wanted to know what lies he put in her head. She at attention in front of him, and he began his pseudo-interrogation
"Rei. It has come to my attention V of Devil May Cry has spoken to you after the destruction of the Fifth Angel. What did he say?"
And Rei's answer, left him, puzzled...
"He spoke to me of William Blake and our mutual interest in his writings."
There was something different about the way Rei spoke of V... Wait... No... Impossible... Had she developed a bond with him? Dammit, he needed to act fast, tell her something to keep her away from that damn meddling self-splitter
"Rei, you are not to interact with him again. Furthermore, you are to limit your interactions with all of Devil May Cry."
Usually, Rei would just nod and accept, but she asked a question he wasn't expecting
"Why?"
Impossible, she had never asked that before. He then realized, both V and his own son had changed her perspective of everything. He couldn't just order Shinji to stay away from Rei, that would raise many questions, and he needed an excuse so she'd stay away from V
"He is not to be trusted. He is the reason we are besieged by the Demon King."
Sometimes, even liars had to use the truth.
"If he is responsible for the assault, why has he not been assassinated yet?"
Oh, confound it all! Just when he thought he was done...
"Because he has still proven useful. But be wary, he is not to be trusted."
Finally, she seemed to accept this and nodded before being dismissed. Normally, he'd trust Rei to follow his orders, but now, he wasn't so sure. So he assigned a group of Section-2 to observe what she did. He sighed, having to question Rei's loyalty gave him a feeling he couldn't describe, nor did he want to considering he was better off burying his feelings in a mental time capsule until he could see Yui again. Only she was worthy of seeing the real him, no one else, not even the people he thought he could trust...

Things were finally looking up for Asuka. She had proved her superiority by slaying the Angel of the Sea single-handedly while the spineless Third Child watched, she had even been congratulated for her efforts. And now that she was in the Geofront, she could interview V herself instead of relying on the MAGI. She consulted the people of NERV and finally found his room. She knocked, taking out her notepad and pen and hoping for the best. But, instead of the black haired mysterious one, the door swung open to reveal that "Dante" guy
"Um, hey kiddo... Uh, you lost?"
She huffed, she wasn't a kid!
"No, actually, I'm here to speak to him."
She said, pointing behind Dante to V, who was rather awkwardly standing in the middle of the room
"Well, we're actually in the middle of something. So uh, why don't you run along now and play with your dolls or whatever it is you kids do nowadays?"
She tried protesting again, only for Dante to slam the door in her face. She tried knocking again, which turned into banging but there was no answer. Great, her efforts were stumped... Again. But it didn't matter, one way it another, she would find the truth...
