Chapter 1: Celebration! WOOT!
Dozens of lights twirled and swayed over the dark dance floor. Many Toads swirled in graceful patterns around each other. It was a grand celebration for the finale of a grand quest. At the front of the room were Mario and Peach, waltzing to the music of the live musicians.
"Peach…"
"Yes?"
"You were great… you were amazing in that battle against Smithy."
"Oh Mario," Peach replied, "You're such a flatterer."
"And?"
"I like it!"
The pair stopped moving and embraced. Mario was moving in for a kiss. His face went closer and closer to Peach's. Then the alarm went off.
"Intruder alert! Security breach in Treasury! Intruder alert!"
Mario pulled himself away from Peach and dashed to the treasury. The door was ajar, and inside there were three shysters (shyguy look-alikes on pogo sticks) and a large bow-shaped monster. Mario glanced at the fourth intruder, it reminded him of Bowyer, one of Smithy's creations, but Bowyer was dead and the one in the treasury was black, with a tuft of yellow hair on his head. It turned around and spotted Mario.
"Hey shorty," called the machine, "No way you can stop us, we've captured the doll, and the star gun… you'll never get it back."
Mario pulled out the whistle Geno had given him, should he ever need to be summoned. Mario blew on it, but nothing happened. Then the bow machine ran to Mario and smacked him in the face. A toad guard ran to intercept the thief, but a shyster jumped on his head, knocking him out. Another guard stood before the bow machine, but an arrow flew from the bow machine's body, and landed in the toad's body.
The four thieves ran down the hall towards a window, but a bright flash erupted from the bow machine's arrow quiver. It split apart and gave way to Geno. The star warrior had re-taken his puppet form. Geno also had the star gun equipped, and blasted a shyster into oblivion. Another shyster prepared to jump on Geno, but a frying pan smashed him onto the floor. Peach stood there, twirling her trusty frying pan.
The bow machine and a shyster still remained. They started to run again. Mario jumped on a pogo stick that was left behind, and pursued after the would-be thieves. He gathered his strength, and then pushed off into the air. In a mighty leap went down the hall, and landed on the bow machine's head. The last shyster kept going, and disappeared out the window. Mario turned back to the fallen bow machine.
"Who are you, and who sent you?"
