Broken and can't be Fixed

A war was going on between good and evil, and no matter how hard you try, you will always get hurt. This story is about a boy who lost everything he had and worked for. War can do that.

This boy went to the greatest school in the world and even though he wasn't the happiest boy, he still had friends. They stuck with him through everything. All the while, he was searching for the one thing everyone wants and he finally found it.

In his last year at school he found it…..love. He found this love in a girl who was even more beautiful than a lily, her favorite flower. They shared memories and feelings, and they held onto each other afraid one would leave. But the boy had to go to war leaving his friends and love behind promising to return.

Some years later the boy, now a man, came back waiting for his love to come find him. But she never came or his friends. And then he saw her, wrapped in the arms of another man with a diamond on her finger.

He stood up and walked over to her, taking her face in his hands, a silent tear running down his cheek. He walked away, his heart broken in two.

She came up behind him taking his hand beckoning him to sit down. He whispered quietly,

"Why?"

"Because you took so long to come back. I got tired of waiting and I found a new love." She whispered quietly, even he couldn't hear.

He was trying to hold back the stubborn tears that wanted to fall as he looked up, and starred into her eyes, seeing a single tear on her eyelash. And he whispered four words that made her fall to pieces, "Please don't marry him?" He kissed her.

This kiss was filled with so much love and electricity, nothing else could compare. His heart filled with joy and love, something he hadn't felt in the longest time. He found his love, the love he remembered from school. But all too soon, the kiss ended, and she sat there, tears rolling down her face and she whispered, "No." Getting back up she looked over her shoulder and saw him for the last time. If only she stayed longer to hear him whisper, "I will always love you and no one else."

She truly never saw him again, but that doesn't mean he never saw her. He watched her get married and saw 'I do', but no one saw him, he was too well hidden in the bushes, tears slowly rolling down his face. He saw her children running in the yard on their birthday, the kids that were suppose to be his. He saw her beautiful hair slowly turn grey and her bright eyes slowly become duller, and her husband sitting on the porch swing kissing her softly. He was there when her kids got married and when she had grandchildren. Then he saw her sit in that old rocking chair, in front of the fire, and close her eyes forever.

A single tear fell as he got up to leave. With a cane in one hand, and his wand in theother,he walked back to his cottage on the outskirts of town. He sat in front of the fire and he too took his last breath.

Years later, when his love's grandchildren were having kids of their own, they would run home to tell their parents what they saw in the field. If you look behind that old manor, in the large field, you too will be able to see a man, with raven colored hair, watching a girl with hair that matched her temper, fiery.

So you see, I was right. War tears people apart, love is broken, and families fall apart. How else, could a love that strong fall to pieces?
