Whenever it comes to Kadaj, he's always second best. Second best to Mother, who wants not Kadaj, but Sephiroth. Second best to the world who has yet to learn that it's not Sephiroth that's alive any more- it's Kadaj and his brothers. Worst of all, he's second best to Cloud who every time he looks at Kadaj, he sees longer silver hair and it pisses Kadaj off to no end because it's him and not Sephiroth.
It's not that hard, he thinks, but knows that as long as he's second best he'll never exist as Kadaj, only as Sephiroth's clone.
