A/N: Happy Thanksgiving! I am incredibly thankful for all of you reading this, and hope you've enjoyed reading my story as much as I've enjoyed writing it. Hope you guys all have a very happy and safe Thanksgiving. If you leave a review, I hope your turkey tastes unbelievably perfect. If you don't, I hope it's just really really really good. Anyways, enjoy the chapter :)
***Also, trying out a different style of chapter titles that sound more like the actual books. Might go back and change every chapter name to this style, let me know what you think.
Chapter 12: I Almost Forget to Start a War
If the hunters had to be described in a word, it'd have to be unruly. Thalia lounged on a sofa with her legs kicked up against one of the bunk beds inside the Artemis cabin. Even her earbuds blaring Dead Kennedys didn't do much to drown out the ruckus caused by the nearly thirty girls crammed into the building meant to house fifteen. The scene around the daughter of Zeus consisted of hunters sleeping strewn across random furniture, aggressive chatter about maiming male campers, and full-on wrestling matches. All of it silenced at once when they heard a sharp rap on the door.
Thalia hopped up from her seat and reached for the handle. She opened it to find a sniffling Annabeth wiping tears from her face. Thalia looked at her stone-faced. This was her best friend that she had recently found out cheated on her other best friend who was also her brother-ish. And there was a lot of divine manipulation involved, so it made their relationship a little complicated to say the least.
"What are you doing here?" Thalia settled on, doing her best to keep her voice neutral.
"Hi, Thalia. I guess you know about everything, but that's not why I'm here. I, uh, was going to check on Percy, just to see how he was doing," she started.
Thalia's eyes flicked down to Annabeth's hands, which were fiddling with her magic Yankees cap.
"You mean you were spying on him while invisible," she rightfully assumed.
"That wasn't – yes. I didn't know if he wanted to see me but I needed to see him. But anyways, what I came to tell you was that he was with Artemis. As in, with Artemis. In his bed."
This caused every hunter behind Thalia's head to snap in the direction of the open door. Thalia maintained a stony expression. She was working to both conceal her own excitement at the opportunity to catch them, and her apprehension of her sisters' reactions now that everyone had heard. She cleared her throat before responding.
"We'll handle it," Thalia said before slamming the door shut.
Annabeth took a few steps away from the cabin and stared into the night sky. She had immediately run from Poseidon's cabin to Artemis' after what she had seen. Annabeth took a moment to reflect on why she had just exposed what she was certain was a big secret to the hunters. Was it jealousy? Desperation? Some unfair need for revenge? Whatever it was, she realized it was the wrong decision, and she was tired of making the wrong decisions, especially when it came to Percy. She turned on her heel and knocked again, set on somehow taking back what she had just said.
Thalia opened the door again. Annabeth swore she watched several of the hunters wipe massive grins off of their faces as if they were trying to hide something from her. A smile seemed to be tugging at Thalia's lips as well but Annabeth shrugged it off, focused on undoing her decision.
"Actually, I just thought about it and I was probably wrong. She's THE man hater right? So it wouldn't make any sense, anyways. I most likely saw something that wasn't there; it's already dark out and I'm obviously not the most unbiased party. Sorry for the confusion," she tried to explain as convincingly as she could, fumbling through her words.
Thalia's eyes softened a bit listening to her; she knew what Annabeth was trying to do. She still had her reservations, but it showed her Annabeth still had a good heart, even after the mistakes she had made.
"That makes sense. Thank you, Annabeth. Have a good night," Thalia said with a small smile before softly closing the door.
Annabeth made her way back to her cabin confident in her decision, even though she knew exactly what she had seen in Percy's room.

Percy woke to an unfamiliar pressure on his chest. His eyes fluttered open and revealed auburn hair sprawled across his torso. The morning sun streaming in through the window gave the goddess' hair a glow that Percy couldn't tear his eyes away from. He was so transfixed that he didn't notice the spiked boot tapping impatiently in the center of the room.
"Now what do we have here?"
The voice dragged Percy out of his thoughts, replacing his infatuation with panic as his head jerked to the side and he saw who it was. His movement caused Artemis to stir, but she didn't open her eyes. Instead, the goddess buried her head further in his neck.
"No, not yet," she murmured in her sleep.
"Milady, to see you like this with a man…" Thalia rolled onto the nearest bunk bed laughing.
Artemis kicked awake, pushing herself up from Percy's chest and off of his bed. The demigod coughed while clutching his chest, and Artemis looked at him apologetically after realizing she may have panicked and pushed too hard. This made Thalia laugh even harder as the couple's faces burned red simultaneously.
"You… can't… make… this… up," she sputtered out in between bursts of laughter.
Before either of them could respond, the door burst open and thirty battle-ready huntresses flooded the not-very-spacious cabin. This left both Artemis and Percy petrified, with Artemis afraid that they'd feel betrayed by her and Percy accepting that they were here to kill him. Even in the cramped area, all thirty had enough room to nock arrows and take aim at the defenseless demigod still confined to his bed.
Percy raised his hands in surrender, looking pleadingly at Thalia who shrugged in tandem with Anna as the two weaponless hunters lounged on the bunk opposite to him. Percy's eyes flicked apprehensively from arrowtip to arrowtip as he thought about how he could escape this situation alive. He settled on extending his wings and flying straight through the wall behind him. But before he could act, Artemis unfroze from her stupor and moved between Percy and the wall of arrows.
"Girls, I'm sorry. I am sure you feel betrayed by me, and I am to blame for that. But you cannot take your anger out on Perseus, we made this decision together. We care for each other and this is the way it is," she said definitively, to Percy's surprise.
Shocking them further, Artemis' statements were serenaded by a handful of 'Awww's, none louder or more dramatic than Thalia's, before all arrows returned to their quivers. Percy and Artemis shared another look of confusion before turning to Thalia for an explanation. The crafty lieutenant kicked her feet onto an ottoman with a smug look on her face.
"What?" she asked, "I just wanted you guys to admit what most of us kinda figured out was going on anyways. And I thought this would be a funny way to go about it."
"Wait, so you guys aren't mad?" Percy asked cautiously, surveying the group of girls that weren't actively attacking him.
All of the hunters began talking at once, and Percy did his best to pick out the relevant details. He heard several instances of "I guess since it's you" and "Lady Artemis is happy" but he noticed a handful of the eldest huntresses were silent on the matter. Not wanting to ruin any of the relationships he had worked so hard to build, he walked directly to Phoebe to get her thoughts on the matter.
"If I am to be honest, I do not know how to feel. I have the natural urge to kill you, but I have developed trust in you. And for now, I believe you will not hurt Milady. Especially because if you do, she will kill you before I can," Phoebe said, slightly begrudgingly, and the older hunters seemed to share her conclusion.
Artemis was at a loss for words. She and Percy had been deeply worried that their secret would go over horribly with the hunters. To see the majority of them genuinely happy for the two and the eldest, coldest ones even holding off judgment was an unbelievable win for the pair.
"Th-thank you, girls. I didn't expect this at all, and I am sorry I did not tell you myself," the goddess said before a pressing question came to mind, "but how did you all find out? I trust Thalia did not tell you."
"Hah, thank you for the vote of confidence. Actually, it was Annabeth. Last night, she must've caught you two doing something, I guess. Wait… you didn't–"
"NO!" They shouted in unison, Percy burying his face in his hands and Artemis turning away with her fingers on her temples. Thalia and several of the hunters roared with laughter, realizing how many new jokes could be made at their expense.
"I thought Annabeth was the bad one. She seemed nice enough last night, not someone that would do something horrible like betray someone she loves," Rachel said.
Percy's eyes saddened for a moment before he responded.
"She is nice. She made mistakes, and was manipulated by that traitor like the rest of us were. But she's not a bad person and I should probably go check to make sure she hasn't told anybody," Percy said as he stood up.
Artemis gave him a strange look that he realized he earned after seemingly defending Annabeth. He gave her a knowing look before instinctively pecking her on the lips, resulting in an outburst from the hunters. Artemis tensed for a moment but quickly realized most of the noise was giggling. She smiled as Percy walked out the door, and rolled her eyes and laughed when she noticed Phoebe's deathgrip on her bow.

Percy and Annabeth walked together, somewhat clumsily, along the coast of Long Island Sound, not far from what used to be "their spot." It was awkward enough that they were almost back to that place on the beach, and Percy decided this was the moment to bring up what Annabeth had seen last night.
"Um, Annabeth? Thank you for not telling anybody else about what you saw yesterday. It really means a lot to me," he said.
"Oh yeah, of course. I'm sorry that I was even there in the first place after you said you needed some time," Annabeth replied sadly.
"About that, I think I was unfair to you yesterday. I chased you down in the Pavilion when you wanted to be alone and then I left pretty quickly after just because I felt overwhelmed. I'm sorry."
"No, that's okay. It was still really nice to see you again."
They walked in silence for a little longer while Annabeth looked conflicted in thought. She sighed, realizing it was now or never, and spoke,
"Percy, do you see any chance of us getting back together?" she asked after building the courage to..
"No." he replied stoically.
Annabeth closed her eyes for a moment and took a deep breath. That was about the answer she expected, but felt she owed it to herself to know just in case. She slipped her hand into her pocket and pulled the ring out, holding it towards Percy. Percy stared at it for a moment before closing her hand around the ring.
"I only have bad memories attached to that thing. It's not something I can take back and, as a plus, I think it suits you much more than it does me," he said jokingly, "You can throw it in the ocean or bury it in the earth but I can't keep it," he ended seriously.
Annabeth nodded sadly at the remembrance of what had cost her her relationship, and she slipped the ring back into her pocket, unsure of what she'd do with it. Even if she couldn't be together with him anymore, she wanted to be on friendlier terms and she communicated that to him. He agreed.
"Well, as your friend, tell me about what you're doing today," Annabeth said.
Percy's eyes lit up as he thought about his fairly relaxed day.
"After this, I'm going to get some breakfast. Then I have to go workout, then train the hunters, and am I forgetting something? Then tonight… tonight… What's tonight?" he contemplated.
"OH SHIT SHIT SHIT, MY DREAM! NO, HOW DID I FORGET?" Percy shouted, the contents of the Blackout finally coming back to him. He looked at Annabeth and remembered she was essentially the leader of the camp anyways.
"Ok, Annabeth, this is going to sound crazy. But I need you to get the campers ready for a battle tonight. It's going to be in New Rome, so let Frank and Reyna know that the fight is coming to them. I need to go, I'll be there tonight," he said with his voice receding as he was already running in the direction of Artemis' cabin.

Camp Olympus West
The sun had set on the West Coast as the demigods finished the last of their defenses along the Little Tiber. All Terminus statues stood active along the circumference of New Rome, erecting a white shield dome around the city. Percy couldn't help but compare it to his own bubble, although one look told him that this shield was much weaker due to its size and power source. He noticed most of the demigods were concentrated against the bridges over the Little Tiber and the exit of the Caldecott Tunnel. Small battalions were stationed in the Field of Mars and far against Mount Diablo with the Roman Eagles to watch for ambushes. The hunters made up the backline of the demigods, taking long range archery positions.
Percy and Artemis stood far from the main force, stationed all the way at Temple Hill as severe emergency troops, from where they observed the battlefield. Percy marveled at the force of demigods in front of him. Olympus East had sent between a hundred and fifty and two hundred demigods from New York, leaving fifty behind to defend their camp. The Twelfth Legion numbered over three hundred and stood in perfect formation against the river, their Praetors giving rousing speeches to the ranks of demigods.
"I've never seen so many demigods in one place before," Percy mused.
"Neither have I. These last few years have increased total numbers higher than they have ever been," Artemis replied.
Reyna flew above the divisions from both camps and the hunters, riding Pegasus himself, who had chosen the Praetor as his sole rider when he deemed necessary. Her words of encouragement were answered by resounding cheers from the army of demigods, as they readied for the battle that could come at any moment.
Percy looked across the crowd and saw his friends dispersed among them. Jason and Piper stood at the lead of one of the divisions, cheering along with the rest. Hazel took point of another, as Centurion of the Fifth Cohort, standing next to Frank who had taken the shape of the Minotaur. Annabeth led a segment of campers alongside Clarisse and the Stoll Brothers, the latter of which Percy found odd. Nico appeared in the Field of Mars with his own army of undead soldiers and a guard of Spartoi that looked identical to the ones Percy had seen years ago on his quest to find Artemis. Lastly, he saw Leo in a dozen places at once as the son of Hephaestus teleported between all of the war machines he had built, priming their projectiles and fiddling with their auto-aim mechanics.
The noise created by hundreds of demigods ready for battle was silenced abruptly when everyone present felt a sudden drop in temperature as the night darkened further. A malevolent voice followed, rolling across the valley.
"So this is the meager might of the Olympian era. Have a taste of what is to come."
The presence released a world-rattling laugh as it vanished, leaving behind a materialized army of monsters larger than anything anyone present had ever seen. Several thousand monsters riddled the hills that looked down on the Principia, split into divisions similarly to how the demigods were. And a lineup of creatures that never should be found together led each segment of the monstrous army. Echidna, Lamia, Geryon, the Chimera, the Manticore, and, of course, the newly reformed Minotaur stood at the forefront of separate groups of hundreds upon hundreds of monsters each.
Percy instinctively took a step forward as he prepared to fly towards the demigods. Artemis immediately put her arm out to stop him. He looked at her baffled, pointing at the scene before them.
"Do not underestimate your friends, Perseus. I know you want to protect them but they have been preparing for this for years, and the hunters are there for support as well," she said definitively.
"Alright, Moonlight. You're right, they got this."
Artemis smirked at him always having something to say. She turned back to the battlefield as the massive army thundered down the mountain, their roars echoing across the camp. The demigods stood their ground, not moving a muscle from their side of the Little Tiber as they braced for the incoming onslaught. From hundreds of feet behind the ranks of demigods, Leo's war machines screeched to life as the enemy got within effective range. A line of catapults flung massive chunks of rock doused in greek fire at the charging army. Ballistae fired wildly, rocketing explosive waves of burning projectiles deep into the monsters' ranks.
The demigods' spirits lifted as they watched the defensive weapons work towards thinning the charging line. They whipped into a frenzy as Frank shouted to them to be ready to charge, and Percy could see the ebbing tide of demigods excited to push forward. On the opposing end, Reyna continued to fly above their ranks, shouting to hold their positions until the right moment. She didn't want to stop them, but she was waiting for the signal from Leo.
The sign came in the form of a familiar mechanical roar that Percy hadn't heard in years. Reyna looked overhead to find Leo dive bombing towards the enemy, his hair ablaze as he rode on the back of Festus. Percy was taken aback by the sight as Festus broke through the clouds above because he was flanked on either side by two more identical dragons, one unmanned and the other carrying Calypso on its back.
"Gods, he wasn't kidding about blowing my mind when the war came," Percy said, watching the trio of dragons breathe columns of fire and raze well over a hundred monsters.
At the same time the dragons had descended, Reyna flew past the throng of demigods and shouted for them to charge across the river. They jumped from their formerly rigid positions, tearing through the bridges or straight across the river and meeting the monsters in stride. Months with the hunters had trained Percy's eyes to see perfectly from vast distances, and he watched the matchups form between his friends and the de facto captains of the monster army.
Jason faced off against Echidna, the mother of all monsters. She stood ten feet tall in her true form, the upper half of a woman and, from the waist down, a thick tail of a serpent that slithered another dozen feet behind her. Jason used the winds to meet her midair, his golden gladius clashing against her scaly forearm. Like the rest of the major monsters, her form was surrounded by a dark aura that signified the blessing of Erebus. Jason remembered Percy telling him about this when they were catching up at camp.
He pushed away from the she-serpent as he thought about how to break past it. The rest of the monsters seemed to be giving him a radius of space, likely to avoid being trampled by Echidna in the process. Piper stood in the circle as well, and was currently turned away tearing through monsters on the outskirts of their little battleground, charmspeaking them into dropping their guard before she stabbed them through the heart. Echidna took note and tried to slither past Jason towards the daughter of Aphrodite.
Jason flew between them, calling to the winds around him. The breeze accelerated heavily, and began twisting in a circular motion. A tornado formed, whipping violently and buffeting Echidna away temporarily as the two talked in the calm center.
"Piper, I need your help. Can you charmspeak her to relax? Her skin is extremely hard but I think I can cut through it if she doesn't tense up," he said.
Piper nodded and Jason jumped out of the tornado's eye to block a strike from the monster. Piper stood inside the twisting winds, commanding the monster to calm herself. Echidna hissed angrily in her direction as she blocked Jason's onslaught of strikes. He was making shallow cuts into her skin, but they seemed to be more irritating to her than anything else. Jason, frustrated, flew high into the sky and raised his sword. A strike of lightning immediately responded, setting the weapon alight with electricity, and he barreled downward.
Piper noticed him closing in and tried the same thing she did with Gaea.
"SLEEP!" she shouted, mustering all of the force she could into her voice.
Around her, a dozen monsters hit the ground mid-battle, finished off quickly by surrounding legionnaires. Echidna's eyes glazed over for a fraction of a second before she looked up and raised her arm to block Jason's strike. Still, it did its job and Jason's electrified gladius severed the scaly limb at the elbow. The mother of monsters hissed with narrowed slits at the duo as the limb began to regenerate, surrounded by the blackish glow.
"I know about your tricks, charmspeaker. That only worked on the Earth Mother because she truly wanted to s-s-sleep," Echidna spat, her tongue flickering at the end.
Piper's jaw dropped as she realized how to beat her. She closed her eyes and began to sing, remembering the snake-people from Athens. Jason smiled in realization and turned back to the monster. Echidna screamed and covered her ears as her eyes began to glaze over immediately. Piper continued to sing as Jason brought down more strikes of lightning into his sword, charging his new technique further. Echidna wailed as Piper's voice continued to reach her ears before her form stood limply.
"Drop your arms," Piper said calmly.
Echidna did so immediately, a blank expression in her eyes. Jason pulled back his sword and thrust it forward in one swift motion, stabbing the monster clean through the heart before expelling all of the pent up electricity into her body. The serpent didn't react as the voltage incinerated her body, and the fading black aura had nothing available to repair.
The rest of Percy's friends seemed to be dealing with their respective battles similarly. Lamia, a daughter of Hecate, found her power over magic outmatched by Hazel. They both fought through the haze of the Mist, but the daughter of Pluto simply had too many advantages over her opponent. Lamia, a human woman cursed with serpentine eyes and the teeth of a crocodile, shrieked in frustration as her tricks consecutively failed. Hazel combatted her opponent through a thick shroud of Mist, rendering them both blind, but Hazel used her former curse's connection to the earth to know where they both were. She created dozens of feint illusions for Lamia to attack before the real Hazel ran her through from behind with her cavalry sword. When the monster tried to reform, Hazel watched as undead hands sprouted from the ground and dragged the body below, and she realized Nico must've been close.
Geryon was locked in battle against both Clarisse and Annabeth. The old rancher swung dual swords against the pair. Annabeth flipped on her cap and vanished, leaving Clarisse to duel the strange creature with three torsos. Clarisse had no problem keeping the monster at bay, but any time she lopped off his arm or leg, it reformed nearly instantly. Annabeth had told her that all three of his hearts had to be destroyed at once, and his regeneration ability was incredible even before he was blessed by a primordial.
Swinging her spear, Maimer, in a sweeping motion, she knocked the cowboy off of his feet. Annabeth continued to stab him while invisible to keep him distracted, jumping out of range before he could retaliate. As he pulled himself to his feet, Clarisse and Annabeth had a simultaneous moment of realization. Clarisse kicked him square in the stomach, the middle one as he had three, and he doubled over for a moment. She jumped to his side and used both hands to impale all three of his hearts with Maimer, the spear tip emerging from the other side. At the same time, Annabeth reappeared swinging her blade in an upward motion, lopping the bent-over man's head off of his shoulders. The rancher disappeared, even his elevated healing factor unable to fix both decapitation and impalement.
The rest of the dangerous monsters were even more hopelessly outmatched by their counterparts. Reyna, aided by the god of horses, had taken on the Chimera. The lion-headed goat-body monster wasn't given the opportunity to even breathe fire before being trampled by Pegasus. As it tried to stand, Reyna unsheathed her sword and severed its snake tail before stabbing the monster in the stomach and goading the horse god to continue throttling the poor thing. It whimpered before dissolving into dust.
The Manticore avoided picking a fight with anybody he deemed dangerous, instead electing to attack straggling legionnaires. His decision was universally vetoed when he heard the sound of creaking followed by his feet being lifted off of the ground, his body caught between the vice grip jaws of a bronze dragon. The human-lion hybrid's howls of pain were cut short as the jaws clamped shut and the dragon incinerated the body for good measure.
Percy felt immense pride watching his friends dismantle the monsters as efficiently as they were, but no battle compared in terms of shock than Frank and the Minotaur. They watched Frankotaur, a name Percy found hilarious, charge the real one while wielding Ultor. The real Minotaur swung his battleax when Frank got close enough. Without stopping his charge, Frank mirrored the movement and whirled his legendary spear like a baseball bat. He connected with the ax's handle, shattering it and sending the monster reeling. Before the Minotaur could regain its footing, Frank roughly thrust the spear through the bull-man's heart, twisting it as he ripped it out. The Minotaur began to fall backwards, but Frank was already in the air before it was halfway to the ground. He plunged his foot downward, catching the Minotaur's face en route, and stomping it into the dirt with a gut-wrenching squelch, all of which happened in less than six seconds.
Percy's jaw dropped at the brutality shown by the crewmate he remembered being the most gentle on the ship. Artemis also raised her eyebrows, impressed by the efficiency of the kill, before she turned to Percy as he began to talk.
"What are we even doing here? They don't need us!" he said. Artemis chuckled.
"In focusing on your old friends, have you forgotten your normal task of tracking arrows?" she asked, certain she'd embarrass him.
"Six hundred and forty nine… fifty… fifty one," he replied back, smirking.
"Good work. Only ten off, so far."
The monsters' numbers dwindled more quickly as the heaviest hitters became free from their battles against the enemy leaders. Nico and his group of Spartoi had already carved a hole to the enemy backline, but had lost the rest of their undead soldiers in the process. The Greek and Roman demigods continued to surge forward, led by Frank and Jason as they obliterated everything in their path.
It hurt Percy to see some demigods being tended to by medics, some of which he knew couldn't be saved. There weren't too many casualties, but he unfairly wondered if there could've been fewer if he had fought as well. His question was answered shortly after the combined demigod army returned to the banks of the Tiber, the monster army whittled down to a total of zero. The dark presence returned to the valley, and the weight of Erebus' frigid voice forced several exhausted demigods to drop to their knees.
"This is not nearly as many dead bodies as I had hoped," the primordial began, "but how much can one expect from the initial wave of lesser beings. You cretins were smart to save your greatest weapon, but now you must reveal yourself, Perseus Jackson."
Percy's eyes narrowed as he stared defiantly into where the darkness seemed heaviest. Artemis looked worriedly at the demigod, but was thankful that her decision to hold him back had paid off. Near the main army, Thalia exhaled angrily as she stood with the rest of the hunters holding empty quivers.
"That was the JV Team? What the Hades is coming next?" she asked indignantly.
As if on queue, Erebus rumbled another heinous laugh before withdrawing his presence again. In place of where the primordial would've stood, there were now five figures. The demigods looked on in fear as the titans Hyperion and Krios stood side by side with the giants Polybotes and Hippolytus. In the middle of the four was a figure that none of the demigods recognized, but Artemis registered who it was immediately. Her eyes turned fearful as she shifted towards Percy, but she realized it was too late.
The spot where he stood was empty as Artemis heard the violent flap of wings overhead and felt a sudden burst of extreme heat. All eyes on the battlefield turned in the direction of Temple Hill as they heard a blood-chilling cry. In the sky, hurtling towards the newfound enemy was a winged creature fully engulfed in fire, roaring like a demon out of hell. Percy had no idea how his entire body was ablaze, or why he was holding flaming hammers, and he didn't care. Percy locked eyes with the monstrous lobster standing in between both titans and giants. He paid the other four no attention, overwhelmed by bloodlust towards his mother's killer. His only thought in that moment was to rip Crota apart.
A/N: Heh, cliffhangers are back even on the most grateful day of the year. Hope you guys enjoyed the chapter, and are excited to see Percy's third and final power in action. I unfortunately didn't get to respond to it in an earlier chapter, but a review from AllAboutThoseMyths caught that his three new powers are all from the game Destiny, a game I used to spend so much time on in middle school. I hope I did a good enough job describing how the powers look in my story, but if you need any elaboration, there's a million images and videos online of how they look in-game.
TheDesertFox12: Nice story so far. However, where is Reyna in this story?
Guest: uhh few questions, did is reyna still praetor or is hazel praetor now with frank? and i take it jason and piper live in new rome? also, did annabeth and cameron get together in the end?
Sorry for sidelining Reyna for so long, was just waiting until we got to the start of big battles, hope you guys liked her scenes. Jason and Piper still go to college and live in New Rome like they asked during the awards ceremony (Prologue), but they jump between camps a lot now that it's so easy to do so. As for Annabeth, there have already been a few scenes sprinkled in through chapters about what happened after that night on the beach. You can go back and look if you'd like but she basically hates Cameron because he's a living reminder of the massive mistakes she made (and after he got taken by Ares, I wonder where he went...)
That's all for today, thank you all so much for all of the feedback both in reviews and PMs. As always, please let me know what you think and anything you'd like to see in coming chapters! Happy Thanksgiving.
