Disclaimer: I do not own Shaman King.
A/N: Well… I guess I've not watched Shaman King for sometime, but feel free to flame if it sucks. Basically, this is a hero worship of Hao.

Hao was beyond any them.
None of them could match up to him. No one. Not Ren, not Ryu, not Horo Horo, not Lyserg… not even Yoh… ever came close to his power.
For the Great Spirit's sake, it took the entire world, combined within someone who alone had the potential to be his equal, to defeat him, and even then it was barely enough.
Few saw the look on Hao's face as he faded. And yet, I was one of the few.
For the first few moments as he digested his failure his face had a stunned expression. It contained traces of anger, regret, and betrayal, for in the end he never had expected that Yoh would actually do what he had to do. Still, the main component was shock, for he had never expected to fail at his task this time. Though still powerful, the Asakura lineage had weakened over the centuries after all. Also, he had the power of the Great Spirit. It wasn't supposed to end that way.
And yet, as he finally came to terms with it, his expression changed, the negative emotions slowly melted away, and as his eyes closed a little smile came over his face.
It was lazy. It was content. It was acceptance. It was… Yoh.
For a split second I saw Yoh within Hao. Every one had simply assumed that Yoh was a splinter of Hao. What was to say that Yoh had not left a mark on Hao before he came into his own existence?
It was too bad that it took such extreme circumstances for that side to come out.
It was too bad that it came so late.
It was too bad that it was the end.
But even as he finally faded away there was still something hidden within the smile.
Maliciousness.
He'll be back. I know it. This was not the last that the world would hear from Asakura Hao.
For I knew that he would not end this way.
