Ch12

Enzan watched Blues from his computer as he deleted the remaining criminals in the cyber jail. I must this world of evil of all these criminals.

A smile spread across his face, his tired expression was reflected on the monitor. I'll show you who is weak Hikari. I'll show you your place in this world.

"Enzan-sama all the criminals are deleted," Blues said. "Shall we prepare for our fight?"

"Continue warming up. The less filth on the internet the better," he said.

Blues bowed. "At your command sir."

He looked down at his own computer monitor and saw Roll bound and shackled. The pink navi was shaking tears falling down her face as guards monitored her. Hikari is so weak that he needs other people. I'll show you are own strength, the pure power that Blues and I can do on our own.

His mind swam with various emotions. He was going to avenge his embarrassing defeat and show Hikari Netto that he is nothing. When that is done I'll purge the internet of all evil. All criminals shall be put in their place.

He watched the monitor. Blues quickly deleted another set of prison guards before going into the prison. His navi was quick, those petty criminals never stood a chance against him as his blade brought justice to them one by one.

Blues you are stronger than before. I don't know how you came back, it doesn't matter to me. All that matters is that you are with me again. I'll use you to bring justice to this world.

I'll become the best official net battler. Father will see my achievements and then he will be proud of me. All the feelings he had towards his father were also beginning to bubble up, I won't be humiliated in front of him like that again. I'll never forgive you Hikari Netto

Clenching his fists he remembered his father's cold gaze and his chastising him for losing. He was supposed to see me winning and be proud of me. I'll make up for it today, Hiakri Netto you will lose this match. You'll pay ten fold for those insults and for humiliating me.

He watched as Blues continued his rampage, deleting every criminal in every jail. When his was done Blues scoured the streets continuing his mission. The world will know your true strength. The fruits of our training will pay off.

"Blues come on we should prepare," He said. His numb felt numb clouded with the sense to bring justice to this world

Blues deleted one more navi before nodding. "Understood sir."

When his navi returned to his PET he stretched his arms. "Blues I know you are stronger now. Can you defeat Slur?"

Blues nodded. "I can and will."

"Good," he said "Get Roll ready we will need her."

"Understood," Blues said as he went to the pink navi.

Roll let out a scream as Blues restrained her with some cyber cords. "Shut up already," Blues spat as he punched her in the gut knocking her out.

"Are you ready Blues?" He asked as he got up and stretched his body.

"I am," Blues said. "Remember sir use that special chip I gave you when you feel like we are losing or when I tell you."

"Alright but what does it do?" He asked. He was curious about it yet something kept telling him not to use it.

Blues looked at him and frowned. "It will turn the tide when we need it."

For a second he felt like he was looking at a stranger but he shook his head and ignored it. Of course it is Blues. "Come on lets go."

"Will you go armed?" Blues asked.

"What do you mean?" He asked. He shook his head as a part of him wondered why he would think that.

"Hikari Netto may have tricks of his own you may need to subdue him," Blues said calmly.

He looked at his navi, his words were so persuasive and they made sense to him. "Good idea," he muttered. His mind felt a bit foggy as he reached into his drawer and pulled out a letter opener.

"Lets go show them our power," he muttered playing with the letter opener in his hand

"It's alright Meiru-chan," Netto said as he consoled his friend who was crying on the sofa.

"Roll he took her," Meiru sobbed.

"That bastard deleted our navis," Dekao growled as Yaito and Tohru stared at their PETs with sad expressions.

"Don't worry I'll get Roll back and avenge your navis," he said firmly. "We beat him once we can do it again."

Meiru nodded. "A-Are you really going to face him on your own?"

"We can do it don't worry," he said. "Besides if he will delete Roll if you guys come, I think he means it."

Yet deep down he knew it would not be easy, he still didn't know how Blues came back and became so much stronger. Slur knows I'll ask her when I can.

He looked down at his navi who was silent as always when his dad called him. "Netto come here," his father said motioning for him to follow him.

"Be right back guys," he said as he followed his dad to the room.

"Alright son here is the navi that was my present to you," his dad said as he opened the door. He looked at the computer and saw a blue navi on the screen and another PET on the table. "This is Rockman. Rockman this is your operator Netto."

Rockman looked at him and smiled. "Nice to be you Hikari Netto."

"Nice to meet you," he said. "I already have a net navi, her name is Slur. I look forward to working with you both."

Slur appeared on the computer screen. "Nice to meet you."

He watched as Rockman smiled and bowed to Slur. "Nice to meet you too."

Hopefully they get along. He felt a bit excited to have two navis, he didn't know how he would work with both of them but he would put them to good use.

"Thanks dad I'll take care of him too," he said. "I know most people don't have two navis but I'll manage it."

His father smiled and nodded. "It is your choice. I know you and Slur are already close." His father's posture then stiffened. "So are you really going to save Roll?"

"I will," he said firmly. "Don't worry dad we beat him once before and can do it again."

His father sighed. "Will you take Rockman with you?"

"Not now. This guy has business with Slur for now it will just be between us four," he said. "He may also order Roll to be deleted if I bring Rockman. This guy is ruthless I know he would do it."

"I understand. Be safe," his father said. "I'll help your friends recover their navis."

"Thanks," he said before turning to Rockman. "I promise we'll get to know each other well."

Rockman smiled at him and bowed. "I will await your return Netto-kun."

He smiled at the navi before turning around and leaving. His heart pounded in his chest as he left the house, his friends wishing him luck as he left. "Slur how did he come back?" He asked as soon as he left his house.

"That is not the Blues we knew," Slur said gravely. "That is an asteroid navi."

"An asteroid navi?" he asked looking down at his PET.

Slur nodded her face grim. "They are navis made by Lord Duo, stronger than normal navis here on Earth, and they can influence their operators to do good or bad."

"Influence them? Is that why Enzan seemed colder and a bit crazier than before?" He asked.

"It wouldn't surprise me if that was the case," Slur said. "Netto-kun we have to be careful. Lord Duo made this navi to test us, I fear it will not be an easy fight."

For once he detected unease in Slur's voice. Usually she fought with confidence but now she seemed unsure. "Don't worry you're strong. Besides aren't you this Duo guy's main messenger? This asteroid navi is still probably beneath you."

Slur smiled at him. "Thank you Netto-kun your words mean a lot. There is another matter that I must discuss with you. Asteroid navis contains a dimensional chip, it is a power that can summon an asteroid navi into the real world."

"Summon a navi into the real world?" He asked in surprise. A part of him was both intrigued and scared at the implication. I guess I learn something new everyday dad would be ecstatic.

Slur nodded. "Yes it brings them into the real world for them to cause mayhem. Netto-kun I'll trust you with my Dimensional Chip, promise me you won't show it to anyone ok?" There was urgency in her voice he knew that she was serious about this.

"I promise," He said quickly. I know dad would love to hear about this but I have to respect that she doesn't want to tell anyone about her or Duo.

"Here it goes," Slur said.

A blinding light came from his PET that nearly made him fall over. When he opened his eyes he saw a strange chip in the battle chip slot. "This will bring me to the real world," Slur said. "If you see the enemy operator using a chip like this stop him at all costs. If he summons his navi summon me immediately."

He looked at the strange chip and nodded. "Got it. Come on lets do this."

Slur nodded her face looking more determined than ever. With that he headed towards the coordinates. No one followed him as he made his way to the edge of town. The wind provided a cool breeze as he came upon the old decrepitated building of an abandoned arcade.

He had been to this old arcade before when he was younger. However, it closed and became abandoned. Come on Enzan lets end this. Taking a deep breath he scanned the area for anything abnormal before entering the building.

The door creaked open with a crack, the inside there was a lot of dust on the inside that coated a bunch of old gaming machines. His heart raced in his chest as he walked into the main room and saw the old net battling arena.

Ijuin Enzan stood on the other end his blue eyes had bags underneath them his face a rigid scowl. "So you came," Enzan said his voice sounded shaky yet they still had a condescending tone to them.

"Let Roll go," he said firmly. "If you want to face me you don't have to hide behind a cowardly threat."

Enzan glared at him and took out his PET and turned on the arena. "I'll show you your place Hikari. You will pay for the humiliation you gave me. A failure like you cannot compare to a prodigy like me."

Anger and bitterness were in every word Enzan spoke but that didn't deter him. "Fine lets do this you stuck up prick. "Plug in Slur!"

"Plug in Blues!" Enzan said.

"Lets go Slur," he said as his navi faced Blues. "Battle routine set!"

"Execute!" Slur said.

Slur blocked the asteroid navi's attacks with her swords. Lord Duo decided to test me. Blues fought ferociously as he tried to find an opening as she tried to keep up.. Very well. I'll show him what I can do.

She blocked Blues' sword their faces inches apart. "You dare challenge me?" She muttered glaring at the navi. Summoning some chains she attempted to bind him but the red navi quickly dodged the attacks.

He is quicker. Fine it has been a while since I had a challenge. She summoned a series of chains in an attempt to strangle Blues.

However, the red navi was quicker and broke her chains with his sword. "Area Steal slot in!" Netto said just as Blues swung his sword at her.

She was quickly teleported to the right of the asteroid navi. "Vulcan slot in!" Netto said.

The Vulcan quickly fired at Blues but the red navi just blocked it with his sword "Damn it he is stronger," Netto said.

"Don't worry we can do it," she said giving her operator a smile. "We won't lose."

Netto smiled at her and nodded. "Yeah lets kick some ass."

Enzan's face appeared next to his navi. "You both will know our judgment and fall to your knees before our might."

She could see the asteroid navi's corruption on his operator was already taking effect. Usually a strong person could resist it but if a person was emotionally vulnerable then they were more suspectable to manipulation. He must have been close to his navi for it to corrupt him to such a length.

Enzan's eyes were maddening and filled with nothing but contempt for her and Netto. Be safe Netto this boy is unstable.

She summoned a series of spears from the ground. They hit the Blues but the navi merely broke them with a slash of his sword and came at her. Taking a few steps she was grazed by his sword on her arm. Damn it. This one is quick.

"Our lord must be so disappointed," Blues said coldly

"What did you say?" She asked through gritted teeth.

She blocked Blue's sword with her own. Blues leaned in closer their faces almost touching. "That you are so weak that he needs me to take care of you?"

Her insides boiled with anger. Oh this brat is going to get it. Glaring at Asteroid Blues she summoned all of the power in her. "I'll show you what is the difference between a master and a servant!" She yelled summoning a flurry of chains.

Her eyes widened as Blues easily broke them and charged at her. She barely had time to move as he slashed at her side grazing abdomne.

"Damn it," She swore as she covered her wound. Her body shook as she spat out data.

"Slur calm down!" Netto yelled as he gave her a recovery chip.

She took a deep breath and nodded her blood was boiling as she glared at Asteroid Blues. "Sorry I lost control for a moment."

Netto smiled at her. "No worries we'll win this just calm down. I trust you."

She smiled at her operator before turning to Blues. I'll show you what a true disciple of Duo can do. She summoned a series of chains and spears to attack the asteroid navi. Blues dodged most of them but she came at him with her swords.

The two navis exchanged blows. She managed to land a few on Blues' arm and side but the red navi ignored the damage and countered her attack his blade even managed to land a few hits on her arms and legs.

I won't lose. I'll protect Netto. The image of Netto's smile caused a warm sensation to spread throughout her body just as she blocked Blue's sword and forced herslef to work through the wounds he gave her. He has been so kind to me, so willing to put up with me even though I despise this planet and his species.

Blues slashed hat her abdomen. She stumbled back and nearly fell as Blues slashed at her. I won't fail Lord Duo but I won't fail Netto either. Her body shook as she summoned a series of chains to strangle Blues.

The asteroid navi slashed at them breaking them with a flurry of slashes. She summoned her light swords and charged at Blues but the enemy was quick and met her head on. In one strike Blues managed to block her attack.

"You'll need to do better than that," Blues said with a smirk on his face.

She swore as he pushed her off of him and kicked her away. "I'll show you my strength," Blues said as she clutched the wound at her side.

"Recovery slot in!' Netto said. "Come on Slur we can do this."

Looking into his eyes she smiled and nodded. "I know we can. With my powers and your operating skills we can save this world." Netto smiled back at her his eyes watery as he nodded. The warm feeling spread throughout her body. I want to protect you Netto-kun.

She was shocked by the thought yet she didn't have much time to ponder it as Blues came at her. You've been kind to me I won't allow anyone to harm you. She blocked Blues' strikes her movements were quick yet Blues was keeping up with her and managed to land another strike on her arm.

"Damn it," she swore as she summoned a bunch of spears and chords to create distance between them. Blues easily avoided the attack and destroyed the chains around him.

"Sword slot in," Enzan said. "Wide Sword slot in!"

Blues came at her with both swords. She leaped back and summoned a series of cords but Blues broke them. He is stronger. I'll have to be careful. Summoning a pair of swords in her hand she blocked the swords.

The asteroid navi's attacks hit hard. Standing firm she continued to block the attacks. "Sword slot in!" Netto said.

A sword appeared on her hand which she used to parry a strike. "We won't let you win," she said glaring at Asteroid Blues. I can't do this alone. I'll need Netto's kuns help he is a much superior operator to this sorry excuse of a human that much I freely admit. "I'll show you what a true disciple of my lord can do." Her voice was low and cold. This was no longer just about protecting Netto, it was now also a matter of pride.

Blues smirked at her. "Then show me what you can do little girl." The asteroid navi slashed at her sending a wave of red energy at her.

"Barrier slot in!" Netto said. The barrier managed to take the hit but Blues came out her with his swords. "Wide Sword slot in!" Her operator said.

She blocked Blues' attacks before countering. She landed a few more strikes wounding the asteroid navi while Blues managed to land a slash on her abdomen causing her to swear in pain. Swinging her blades she exchanged a few more blows with Blues, both navis landed a few hits but neither of them were willing to give in yet.

"Blues lets end this no!" Enzan said. "Long Sword slot in! Program advance!"

Blues held up his hands as the program advance began to activate. She was taken aback by the power and intensity of the program advance. He is using his own data to power it. It was a risky move but she knew that she would be damaged badly if she didn't do it correctly.

"Netto-kun," she said looking at her operator. A part of her felt nervous, she was never nervous but she if she didn't do this correctly she would die and her operator with her. So this is what it's like to fear failure. She didn't care for the feeling. I won't fail. We won't fail.

Netto gave her a warm smile. "Lets do this. I know we can."

She smiled back at him. For once she wanted to do this not just out of her own ego but to protect Netto. To think a human could become my friend. "Lets do this Netto-kun," She said smiling at her operator.

Netto nodded. "Long Sword slot in!"

She took a deep breath as she felt the program advance activate. Netto-kun I really enjoyed my time here with you. I want to protect you at all costs. Show me that humanity is worth saving. Focusing on that warm feeling inside of her she thought of her journey so far with her operator, every moment he cared for her and asked her opinion. Every time he worried about her every time she worried about him. Netto-kun I'm glad to be your net navi. She focused all of her energy on the attack, doing her best to remember all of the things she learned about Netto and the experiences they shared.

The attack flourished above her, she infused it with a bit of her own power. Lets ends this. She looked over at Blues. Both navis had their attacks ready. "Program Advance!" they both shouted.

Both attacks fell on each other. There was a cloud of smoke as a powerful energy burst through the area. She herself was thrown back against the wall, she could her Netto scream her name. Normally a program advance wouldn't affect her if it was done by a normal navi. However, an asteroid navi can also enhance the abilities of their attacks. So she very much felt this attack.

Damn it. She swore as the dust slowly dissipated. Her body shook from various wounds and for once in a long time she found an opponent who could injure her. The network around them was almost destroyed. Slowly standing up she saw Asteroid Blues getting up at well, his armor beginning to break off.

"Enzan-sama that chip use it now so we can defeat her!" Blues yelled.

"No!" She quickly sprang forward with the remainder of her strength. "Netto-kun stop him now! He is going to use it!" Her body protested but she had to delete this navi before he caused havoc in the real world. If navi's had hearts then hers would be distraught at the idea of Netto getting murdered by this asteroid navi.

"On it!" Netto said as she charged at Blues with all of the remaining strength she had forcing herself to her limit forcing herself to go beyond it.

To her surprise Blue charged at her with his sword. She summoned a pair of light swords just as Blues thrusted his sword inside of her. She coughed up data as she felt the sword inside of her. "Slur!" She heard Netto scream.

"Don't worry I won't die here Netto-kun," She said forcing her body to move.

"Got you," he said with a cocky grin. "It's over."

She laughed as she summoned a series of chains to trap Blues in his place. "For you it is." She used all of her strength to plunge her swords inside of him and summon a series of spears to pierce him.

Meanwhile Netto was busy dealing with Enzan. As soon as he hear Slur's warning he knew what Enzan was going to do. He charged at the boy just as he saw the chip come out of his pocket.

Slur be safe. Don't get deleted please just hang in there a little longer.

"Oh no you don't!" he tackled Enzan to the ground knocking the chip to the ground.

"Get off of me!" Enzan yelled as the two struggled on the ground. "You can't beat me huh? You want to resort to cheap tricks, figures a child like you can't beat a genius like me!"

"Your mind isn't clear right now!" He grunted as Enzan began to grab him. "You selfish prick that navi is using you!"

"SHUT UP!" Enzan yelled as he kneed him in the gut. "YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING. Blues, he was everything to me."

The wind was nearly knocked out of him but he didn't have time to care, if what Slur said was true then he was going to be in trouble. He was taken aback by the tears and sorrow in Enzan's eyes. In that moment Enzan kicked him off of him and drew a letter opener. "Woah calm down man!" he said as Enzan glared at him.

"You know nothing," Enzan said as he looked at the dimensional chip on the ground. "I'll delete you navi here and the world will be a better place without you both."

"I won't let you delete Slur!" He yelled as lunged at Enzan forgetting about the blade all he cared about was his navi. Yeah she may be an alien who didn't have the Earth's best interests but she was also his friend.

"Get off of me!" Enzan yelled as he pushed him to the ground and tried to bring the letter opener down on him.

He grabbed his hands to prevent him from being cut. The blade was a few inches from his face his body shaking as Enzan tried to bring the blade down on him. Just as the door to the arcade opened. "Nobody move!" To his heart's relief Commander Beef and his allies came in. "Ijuin Enzan you are under arrest!"
