Shinji and Asuka are sitting with Misato, who takes out another beer. She needs some buzz after hearing their stories of cyborgs, mutants, and heroes. "Anyway, welcome to the Katsuragi Crib. There is the fridge and I just made dinner for all of us."

Misato has a big grin with a blush on her face. On the table is three bowls full of ramen and curry... together. Shinji is confused by this combination while Asuka gets up and goes to the fridge. Better to have a drink to drown this 'meal' so she opens it only to see nothing but beer and leftovers. Annoyed, she opens the freezer as well only to jump back once she sees something move out of it. A penguin comes out of the freezer and takes a beer and walks away. Asuka silently looks at Misato and points at the penguin.

"Oh! That is Pen Pen. My pet penguin. He needs to be in a cold environment." Misato explains as Pen Pen walks by her and she pats the flightless bird. He doesn't seem to like it and waddles away from her. The two heroes can only look when Pen Pen gets up on a sofa and watches TV. Shinji takes a bite of his ramen curry and gags from the combination. Shinji claps his hands to get Asuka and Misato's attention.

"How about we go out to eat?" Shinji suggests and Asuka nods and gets her shoes.

"Ah come on." Misato denies their suggestion. "It can't be that bad."

She takes a big bite and stays at her seat for a couple of seconds. She then gets up and walks to her room. Asuka has a big smirk. "Where are you going?"

"I'll get my keys."

"So..." Kozo Fuyutsuki is having a meeting with Gendo Ikari, who is going over pictures of Shinji and Asuka. There isn't an ounce of fatherly affection when he looks at them. He is analyzing these pictures of Shinji in his Zeo Gold armor and Asuka's monster form because he wants to know how he got them and if they can be taken. "You have been looking at them for an hour now and I wish to talk to you about some complications."

"Of course. What is it?" Gendo orders his old teacher.

Kozo takes a pad and shows an x-ray of Rei Ayanami. "Luckily 1st Child survived the attack with the giant man. She needs weeks to recover in intensive care. As for the EVA..."

He presses on the pad to show the damage of Unit-00. The left arm is almost broken off the mech. It may take months to be repaired. This news angers Gendo Ikari.

"Find 2nd and 3rd Children and bring them here. Now!" He orders on the intercom. Shinji can still be use as the pilot of Unit-01. As for Asuka, she can be dissected and NERV can find out how she became a monster. Maybe even learn what happen to Unit-02 and how to create their own monsters.

"Your gonna love these burgers!" Misato cheers as she takes a mighty bite of her cheeseburger. Something Shinji and Asuka agrees with and do as well. They are at a fast food, enjoying their food. The NERV officer had an idea. "You know, I should bring Rei out more. She may like this."

"Rei?" Shinji asks that name.

"She is our only EVA pilot. Very quiet and needs to go out more. NERV barely lets her leave so I feel bad for her."

Shinji thinks of that name and the person that help them take down Marugori. "Tell you what, bring her here to hang out with us someday."

"I might just do that." Misato agrees with and Asuka sighs. Leave it to Shinji to invite strangers. She takes a bite and notices a black truck park next to them and four agents in black come out of it.

"Shinji Ikari, Asuka Langley Soryu, you are coming with us."

"Whoa. What the hell are you guys doing?" Misato knows that these guys are NERV agents but refuses to let them be taken.

"Ma'am please, the Commander himself ordered this." The oldest of these agents tries to assures her but one of the more younger agents go to the targets and grabs Shinji's burger and throws it to the ground. Some of the ketchup syrup hits Asuka's prosthetic legs.

"Get up now! Your father demands-" The agent is punch in the face by Asuka. He goes flying.

"You are all dead!" She cracks her knuckles.

"Um... Sir? The 2nd and 3rd Children have entered the base." One of the technician reports, who Gendo doesn't bother to know his name. He looks at the camera and notices they are walking around the base with Misato. With no guards or anyone escorting them. Misato points at the door to the command center.

"That is where the Director should be right row." Hearing those words has Shinji and Asuka smile as they run at the steel door.

"What are they doing?!" Maya Ibuki wants to know with Makoto Hyuga having an idea.

"They are not going to that right?!" He questions when both heroes punch the steel door, breaking it in half and collapse. Asuka pounds her fists together.

"Alright you assholes. Where is the idiot's old man?!"

"We wish to have words with him and Rei Ayanami." Shinji explains. That was when Misato gets in behind them and hits them in the head.

"Seriously?! I had the codes to open it! You didn't have to do that!" Shinji and Asuka almost trips from that reveal.

The A-Class Hero rubs his head in embarrassment. "Right sorry."

"What do you think you are doing children?" Gendo walks down and glares at these intruders. Shinji ignores his father and walks past him, to Rei Ayanami. The only pilot of NERV is sitting with bandages all over her body. She looks up emotionlessly and sees who was supposed to be the Third Child.

"Shinji Ikari."

Shinji merely shake hands with Rei. "It is great to meet you, Rei. Are you okay? Marugori slamming you through a building looked like it hurt."

Rei is surprised by that question. Not many in NERV seem to be concern by her injuries. If she can breath and pilot the EVA, then she is good and ready to go. She nods. "I am well. I will be ready to fight the Angels."

"No. No. No. You clearly need a break from these monster attacks."

Gendo is walking towards Shinji and Rei. "Step away from the First Child."

Asuka gets between them. She pulls out something from her pockets and drops them. They look down and realize it is NERV badges.

"What did you do with my agents?" The Director of NERV demands but Asuka is not intimidated.

"You can explain why you sent those agents after us? Talk or I am going to punch you in the face." The B-Class heroic monster threatens the director, where his guards take aim again.

"You were both supposed to be EVA pilots. If you can't be one then you will have other uses."

"No Director. They are clearly a great asset to the war."

Shinji is ignoring their fight. He claps his hands which has everyone's attention. "It is decided. We are going to a nice place to eat and going to have fun."

He quickly grabs Rei and drags her out. Asuka follows them though she glares at the emotionless girl. Asuka make sure to speak to a shocked Gendo. "We will send you the bill old man."

"Hang on, no one is leaving this base without my say so! Do you understand the situation you have both caused?" Director Ikari shouts at them. "EVA Unit-00 needs repair that can take months, Unit-01 is out of commission and Unit-02 is missing!"

"Oh right. It was destroyed." Asuka reveals which has everyone in NERV in shock.

"IT IS WHAAAT?!" Ritsuko Akagi overhears the news when she was passing by and charges into the command center and grabs Asuka by the shoulders and shakes her uncontrollable. She spent so many years creating the three EVAs and knowing one of them is destroyed causes her to snap. "WHERE IS IT?! WHERE IS IT?!"

"I. Can't. Answer. You. Crazy. Bitch!" She pushes this doctor away from her. Asuka points at Gendo and Ritsuko. "Both of you fuck off! We are going to have lunch!"

That was when the base begins to shake. Maya looks at her monitor and gasps. "Sir! It's the 5th Angel!"

"What?! It is not supposed to be here for another month!"

Gendo's words has Shinji suspicious. "How do you know that?"

"Shinji please. We need to focus on the monster here." Misato points at a monitor, where a flying crystal monster the shape of two pyramids fused together is floating above the city. Asuka sighs at this.

"Great, could it get any worse?"

Shinji's phone goes off and answers it. He listens for while and then hangs up.

"That was the Hero Association. A meteor has just entered the atmosphere and is about to crash into Z-City."

Asuka waves her hands in the air. "I was freaking kidding!"
