Chapter 40. War, problem-solving and the last night.

It was chaos. Beautiful, murderous chaos and Jakob was in the middle of it. On the walls stood Jerusalems forces, and they pointed their bows downwards, sending their arrows towards the white knights who either hid behind their shields or screamed in pain.

"Shot over there, you idiot!" shouted the teenager at one of the soldiers who had frozen in place by fear, bow in hand. Jakob rolled his eyes and stuck his sword inside the man, seeing the confused and betrayed look in his eyes as the blood flew out of his mouth and he slowly fell.

No one paid them any attention as the rest of the army focused on getting their siege tower in place, and Jake grabbed the bow from the now-dead soldier.

"Don't be a coward." an unnatural grin was displaying on his lips as he gave the dead soldier one last glance and placed an arrow on the string.

With no training, Jakob aimed and released the arrow. It rocketed into the air, missing the target by a large margin.

"Alright, let's try again." Jakob hunched down to grab another arrow from the lifeless man, jerking in surprise as an arrow landed a few centimetres from his face, hitting another soldier and penetrating the armoured foot.

He laughed as he grasped the arrow, pulled it out from the man, and sent it back towards the one he guessed had tried to hit him.

The arrow found its mark, and the bowman on the wall fell backwards as the arrow impaled his right eye.

He was about to put another arrow on the bow when he heard that the siege tower had touched the barrier and let down its hooked wall, making a bridge.

The Quade heir pushed his way through, wanting to be one of the first that made his way up. When he entered the tower of wood and nails, he felt almost like he was standing in line for a quidditch game, only the feeling was hundreds of times stronger. The darkness within him stirred in pleasure as he ascended the steppes, and he smiled as he reached the top.

The wizard knight drew his sword when he saw the exit and instinctively ducked as he noticed an arrow soaring towards him, hearing a high-pitched noise as it passed his head. Behind him, he could hear a gurgling sound as the arrow had instead embedded itself in another soldier's mouth.

He charged into the sea of fighters with a roar and plunged his sword into a dark-haired man's chest with an exhilarated grin.

He pulled out his sword and looked around quickly, finding his next target, who was in mid-swing with his own weapon, with Jakob's shoulder as the final destination. He sidestepped it and swiped his sword upwards, making a deep cut in the man's face. With a warcry, he pierced his sword inside the cut. The man twitched once before Jakob kicked him away, pulling out his sword simultaneously.

There were now almost too many men fighting on the wall, and the soldiers that had ascended the siege tower couldn't get out until someone was either dead or pushed off. The enemies tried their best to block the way, earning more time for reinforcement to arrive. The now-blooded wizard knew that they needed to open the northern gate. Otherwise, the enemies would soon be able to push them back or set their siege tower aflame.

"Nous devons ouvrir les portes!" yelled a white soldier a few meters from Jakob, wearing a helmet and trying to get his ally's attention. He found and locked eyes with the teenager, and both understood that they thought the same thing.

The crusader tightened his grip on his sword and was about to follow the bloodied face of Jakob, but after taking a step, he screamed in pain as a spear pierced him from behind.

Jakob watched the man fall and proceeded to get repeatedly stabbed and stomped on by the enemy. The Quade heir looked around desperately, trying to find a staircase or something that would take him down to the other side.

Then he saw it. About ten meters ahead, a small set of stairs was visible, but the 9-meter journey was blocked by shields and swords.

He rushed forwards, screaming to his allies to push forwards towards the stairs, but no one acknowledged him. They were too animalistic, too into their euphoria of blood and death to listen or see reason.

He looked around and slowly took out his wand from under his sleeve.

If someone saw him using magic, they would kill him, and that was a promise from both sides, but he needed to use one spell. Jakob looked down to his left, where he saw the other side. There were soldiers down there, a lot of soldiers. They were all focused on barricading the gate from the battering ram on the other side.

He took a deep breath and jumped from the 12-meter-high border, and in mid-flight, he pointed his wand at himself.

"Arresto Momentum." just before the young teen was about to hit the ground, he slowed down enough to make a forward roll, taking a quick glance around.

He was standing in an ocean of enemies who all turned towards him. The fighters on the wall were too busy to notice that Jakob had used magic or that he had even jumped down. A feral smile grew as he saw the scared faces of the soldiers that were supposedly going to take him down.

He heard someone in the mass yell something in a foreign language. Still, before anyone could swing their weapon towards him, He flipped the wand in his hand and plunged it into the ground as he got down on one knee. A shockwave of fire made the first seven around him die instantly by having their organs destroyed, and those behind them caught on fire.

Jakob laughed as he heard the screams of pain and panic and started to swing his sword, cutting down a man who had been foolish enough to muster the courage to charge him.

Jakov turned and abruptly stopped laughing as he felt a sharp pain in his stomach. Looking down, he saw that a sword had found its way inside his armour, darkening the white tunic with his blood.

At first, the Quade heir looked at the man with a shocked expression, but when the realisation hit and the pain, the shock turned to a murderous rage. The teenager grabbed the man's hand, who desperately tried to pull the sword out, pleading to him for forgiveness. Jakob didn't acknowledge the word coming from the now scared and panicked man and raised his sword. With a terrifying warcry, he started to chop the man in half like a vegetable.

The murderous teen with blood all over himself was, however, disturbed in his artmaking as he heard someone yelling at the last defenders who stood closest to the gate. The scared men looked at the demonlike teen and raised their bows in hesitation.

"tsk. Tsk. Tsk," sounded Jakob as he pointed his wand at them.

"Bombarda, Maxima!" the spell hit the last group of defenders, and a shower of blood and gore covered the last of Jakob's white tunic and head that wasn't already covered.

The gate was now undefended, and the Quade heir rushed forwards and started to raise the large wooden beam that held fast against the battering ram that tried to break inside.

It was too heavy for him. He roared and used all his might, but it didn't budge.

Sounds of hurried footsteps and yelling could be heard. When he looked back, he saw new defenders arriving. They all stopped as they witnessed the massacre surrounding the entrance and the red knight who stood at their gate, trying to open it.

With a scream of desperation and rage, they rushed forwards, and Jakob, desperate, pointed his wand at the wooden beam.

"Diffindo!". There was a deep jack, but it wasn't enough to cut it in half.

The defending soldiers were closing in, and Jakob pointed his wand towards them, ready to end some of their lives until he heard a large crack, and the wooden beam broke.

With the beam weakened, the battering delivered the final blow, and now the city gate was wide open. The defenders stopped their charge as the white soldiers roared in retaliation, storming the entrance. Jakob quickly moved to the side as the wave of holy death stormed the city.

The defenders that had previously tried to rush Jakob didn't stand a chance. The leader said something in a foreign language and prepared for impact. Still, it did little to slow down the white knight soldiers, who cut them down mid-running as they continued into the city like a tsunami.

Jakob took a few breaths to collect himself from the adrenaline rush he had experienced and heard how the screams began sounding in the city.

"They are not even thanking me." chuckled the boy as he joined the army and pushed deeper into the holy land.

But when he saw what was happening, his smile was replaced by a frown, and he slowed down.

This wasn't a battle anymore. This was a slaughter. The soldiers dragged men, women and children into the streets, ending their lives as they tried to crawl away or reach for their loved ones. The civilians didn't even have a sword in their hands or armour to protect themselves.

"What the fuck is happening?" questioned the boy as he looked around, lowering his sword as the streets flooded with blood from the innocent. A scream could be heard from inside one of the houses nearest him.

Jakob, sick of watching all that was happening, gripped his sword tighter as he rushed to the busted door.

When he walked inside, he saw that one of his own allies had bent a girl over a table and was about to take off his belt. The girl looked to be Jakobs own age. She looked desperately around, and when she saw the red knight, she expressed something he couldn't understand with her pleading eyes.

Jakob took a step forwards and felt something blocking his path from taking another. A body of an older man lay on the floor with his face down, blood had started to slowly pool around, and Jake guessed that this was the girl's father.

He took out his wand, and the soldier who now had noticed the boy waved his hand towards him, telling him to get lost and was about to turn around again when a spell sliced his head off. The man fell to his knees as his head rolled away, and Jakob walked over to the girl who had grabbed her torn clothes to cover herself.

The girl's eyes widened as she saw the magic, and got on her knees and prayed while the blood-red knight looked around in almost hopeless shock.

They would kill her. They would do worse things than that before she felt the sweet release of death. But when he pointed his wand at the girl, thinking that this couldn't get any worse, he heard a scream that made him close his eyes.

The girl who had looked fearfully at his wand glanced over to the little crib where the baby lay and gave Jakob a quick look before getting up and running over to her little brother.

The girl with black hair and caramel skin gently picked up the baby, holding it in her arms as she walked over to him.

The Quade heir took a step back when she tried to give him the baby, begging in that language he couldn't understand.

He didn't know what to do. He looked out and saw that the crusaders were going through every household. Making the people inside scream in ways Jakob only had heard a few times before.

He switched back to stare at the girl and slowly pushed her back, following her to the end of the room.

"I will make it Quick. I know that you don't understand me, but I can make it painless." the girl stopped her attempts to hand over the baby when she heard his voice and saw the sorrow in his eyes.

He placed down his sword, gently took the baby, and slowly rocked it in his left arm, giving it a sad smile.

She closed her eyes, relaxing her body as she breathed out, showing a smile, knowing that her little brother would at least survive this, that he was safe.

If the chaos outside hadn't preoccupied the people, they would have noticed a flash of green light. And after the first, a second would soon appear.

The teenager walked out with his sword in hand and saw the destruction around him. War wasn't as he had thought. The beginning had been euphoria.

Fighting an enemy that was armed or deserves being struck down was one thing. Killing a girl and a baby because it was the best way to protect them was, however, not. As he continued forward, a flame grew larger and larger inside the house, devouring the evidence.

Jakob leaned towards one of the buildings and sighed, looking up at the sky.

A sound in the distance could be heard, making him turn his head to see Godfrey and his noble followers riding behind him into the city, examining the devastation with satisfaction.

"That little shit didn't even get his clothes bloodied," whispered Jakob tensing his jaw as he saw them riding closer.

When Godfrey saw Jakob, his eyes widened, and he kicked his horse and galloped over to him.

"When I heard the rumours of the red knight opening the gate, I thought my men were delusional but here you stand." Exclaimed the new ruler of Jerusalem and got off his horse together with the rest. Jakob noticed that father Quade was a few meters behind them and looked over with the same satisfied smirk on his face.

Godfrey turned towards the red knight.

"I must have your name so that I…. Jakob? Is that you?"

The boy raised an eyebrow.

"Who else would I be?"

The men behind Godfrey stared in shock at the boy's state, as did their leader.

"You are the red knight? You opened the door?"

The teen sighed while he sheeted his sword.

"It wasn't that hard. A stabbing here, a cutting there, and the battering ram did most of the work."

"Boy, you look like death itself." said one of the noblemen behind the crowned man, watching Jakob with both awe and wariness.

Jakob dragged a hand through his face and then wiped his bloodied hand on the wall behind him.

"There. Better?" the man nodded, confused and Godfrey laughed.

Another pack of white soldiers came running towards them in a hurry.

"We have secured the city, but Iftikhar al-Dawla, the previous ruler of Jerusalem, has abandoned the city."

The crowned man looked at the soldiers with disdain showing on his face.

"It's a coward's way to not fight when his people are getting slaughtered."

Almost as cowardly as the slaughter itself, thought Jakob, but he didn't voice his thought.

Godfrey glanced at the red knight who had won him this holy war.

"You have brought victory to us, and I will reward you for this. When you are done here, come see us in the rock dome. There we will discuss more of what can be given to you."

Jakob bowed, watched the nobles return on their horses, and rode forward, not even acknowledging the dead women and children that littered the street beneath them.

Outside the city walked two girls with hurried steps.

"He is fine." interrupted Pansy, the redhead for the third time, rolling her eyes.

As they kept walking, they watched the rising smoke and heard the mix of cheers and screams coming from inside.

Pansy could feel the death inside the city and was about to warn Ivy of the destruction but closed her mouth when she saw a blood-red knight emerging from the city gates, walking towards them.

"Is that..." started Ivy, squinting her eyes.

"Seems like it, answered Pansy as they continued forward.

They started walking faster as they saw his state, and soon they stood in front of each other.

"Jakob, what-"

"I don't have time to tell you, and you will see when we get inside the city."

The bloodied teen looked over at Ivy, who stared at him in shock.

"There are a lot of dead inside the city. They slaughtered not only men. Every woman and child has been massacred. When we go in, I need to know that you won't break down."

Pansy gave Ivy a sideglance as the Gryffindor nodded and straightened up a bit.

"I will be fine. Where do we start looking?"

Jakob glanced back to the city.

"They say that the previous ruler fled when he saw that Godfrey was winning. I don't believe that for a second. If he had the sand, he is probably hiding somewhere safe. Presumably close to the tressures."

Jakob turned without saying another word, and the two girls gave each other a glance of worry before the three walked back into the city.

When they entered, Jakob pulled them into a house, gathered up two dead knights, and dragged them inside.

"Change into these."

"But they are twice our size." frowned Pansy as she looked over at the dead men's clothes in disgust.

"I will shrink them, but hurry. We need to get moving," answered Jakob, a bit irritated.

They did as he told them, and when Jakob had helped Ivy with her helmet, they exited the house and walked down the road of death, heading towards the rock dome building. Pansy and Ivy looked in horror at the corpses for a short while and decided to do what Jakob did. They looked straight ahead, trying to ignore the small bumps on the road.

"I will go in first. Godfrey has promised me a prize or something. You will enter after me and start searching. They must have something underground. see if you can find something that is hidden, and then signal me if you find anything."

The two girls nodded and waited as Jakob ascended the stone steps.

"I don't know why but I thought he would be... happier? They won the war." Said Ivy looking at the helmet that showed Pansy's eyes.

"Yeh... me two."

"Ah, Jakob, you have arrived. Come."

Godfrey and the rest stood at some kind of altar furthest in, and the red knight walked over to them while looking around the oval chamber.

"This," said Godfrey and gestured at the man that had been hidden from Jakob's view. He was tied up and on his knees with what Jakob guessed was his wife and children behind him in the same state.

"Is Iftikhar al-Dawla the previous governor of Jerusalem. They said he had fled the city, but we found him and his family hiding in a backroom on the south side of this marvellous building."

Jakob gave the two soldiers who had walked in behind him a sideglance as they started moving in that direction Godfrey had pointed to.

"What are you going to do with him and his family?" Jakob glanced down at the man with blood running down his eyebrow and nose.

Father Quade walked over to Jakob, wearing a big smile on his face.

"God has spoken to me, son. He wants you to carry out the deed."

Jakob stared at the priest in confusion, but when he saw the firm Look, the man gave him something inside the red knight clicked.

"Father, this crusade, the lives that have been taken this day. It's all forgiven by god, correct?"

"Of course, my son. The sins carried out this day are absolved by the victory in the name of god."

Jakob wanted to laugh. They all knew what they were doing right now wasn't right, but none wanted to dirty their hands.

Jakob stared down at the family of five. He raised his sword and looked at the al-Dawla.

"If you have any last words or prayers, you should say them now."

One of the noblemen surprised Jakob when he translated the words he had stated, and the governor watched him with disgust and hate showing in his eyes.

al-Dawla spoke and then spat on the ground. Jakob looked to the nobleman, and the older Whitebeard took a step back and glanced towards Godfrey.

"Tell me what he said," said Jakob calmly but gave the man a look that told him he would only ask him once.

"He said you are an abomination and the devil's work." Jakob looked towards the nobleman with a raised eyebrow.

"Did he now?" He locked eyes with the Previous ruler and stared at him for a moment.

Jakob could see in his periphery that one of the two soldiers had returned and waited for him to acknowledge her.

The red knight glanced at the soldier, whose eyes were the only visible behind the helmet and got the confirmation he needed when she gave him the nod.

He sighed, and With one clean swing, Jakob decapitated the man's head from his body and heard the screams of anguish and pain coming from the rest of the family.

"Good son, now kill..." Soldiers ran inside, interrupting the ceremony and scurried over to Godfrey.

"We found it, lord." said one of the armoured knights and got to his knees. He then raised his hands, showing something wrapped up in a piece of cloth.

"Take it out and hand it over to me." Said Godfrey, looking at Jakob, who fought himself so he wouldn't curse the man for assuming that he would simply do his bidding now.

Jakob frowned as he moved his gaze to the piece of cloth. Was this the sand he had been searching for?

Jakob slowly took the item and removed the cloth. It was a... cup? It looked plain and quite dull, but it radiated with something that felt almost like magic.

He was about to hand the chalice over to Godfrey when they heard one of the Knights by the entrance begin to yell something. He abruptly stopped as an arrow pierced his skull, and fell backwards.

Jakob saw the nobles get into formation, pulling Godfrey back and enclosing him in a protective circle.

The last defenders of Jerusalem had mobilised and made their final assault. They would stand a chance when reinforcement would arrive, but they didn't care. Jakob turned his ring and took a deep breath, disappearing from view and heading towards Pansy. He pulled her back into the room and closed the door behind him as he breathed out.

"Over here!" called Ivy on the other side of the room. Standing inside the hidden entrance.

They rushed inside, and Jakob waved his wand, closing the wall behind him.

"Lumos." Ivy, walking first in line, pointed her glowing wand tip forward, trying to see if she could see the end of the narrow tunnel.

"Do you have our bags?" questioned Jakob, hoping the answer would be yes.

"Ivy has them. We have also checked, and the portkey is where it should be."

Jakob nodded, relieved as they continued forward.

The tunnel seemed to go on forever. After fifteen minutes of walking, Pansy broke the silence, questioning what everyone was thinking.

"We can't even be in the city anymore. Where is it taking us?" The annoyed girl didn't have to wait long before getting her answer as a large room soon appeared to the three teens, their eyes widening.

Mountains of gold and pieces of jewellery and artefacts were piling up everywhere. They glimmered in the white light from their wands, and as the two girls looked in awe at the enormous tressure, Jakob had one goal in mind. The sand must be inside here somewhere.

"We will start looking around now, but be careful. There might be traps or something else that lurks for unwanted visitors."

The two girls nodded, and they began their search.

Jakob walked forward on the narrow path that wasn't covered in gold and saw that this was only the first room. A passageway with an inscription over it led to yet another room that didn't house any riches.

When he glanced inside the other room, he saw it and breathed out in relief. In the centre of the chamber stood a stone basin filled with the glimmering sand Jakob needed for his return home.

"Finally." He took a step forward, hoping everything would be fine and that their little adventure would soon come to an end.

He frowned as he sensed some kind of foreign magic scanning him as he entered the chamber. He stopped, and a sudden blinding yellow light forcefully threw him out. The surprised boy slammed into one of the gold piles on his way, feeling a rib or two cracks by the momentum. The two girls looked over in shock as they saw the red knight roll sideways a few meters and then stop when hitting yet another pile of gold and groaned.

"Jakob!" Pansy rushed faster than Ivy could even react to his side, trying to help him up.

He punched his fist into the ground, making a big dent in the prosses as the irritation and slight anger took over.

"Why the bloody hell would they have a trap here." Ivy, who had walked forward, put her hand through the archway and felt the same magic pass through her.

She took a step and... nothing happened. The redhead glanced back at the two surprised Slytherins.

Pansy, who had helped him up, strode over to the entrance. She raised her hand, trying to see if she also was allowed to pass. He felt the tattoo on her shoulder sting as the magic sensed it and the yellow light threw her away with the same force. Jakob, who had been prepared, jumped, matching her direction, and they slammed into the wall behind them, With Jakob taking the impact.

"Seems like we can't enter. Please get off. You are crushing me." wheezed the boy as Pansy was still over him, being quite heavier now when she wore armour.

"Oh shit, I'm sorry."

She got off and looked over to where Ivy stood while giving a hand to the boy who had saved her life.

"Get some of the sand. Fill something and get back over here quick!" The redhead did what she was told with a shocked nod. She walked over, took off her helmet and cloth hat that was underneath and started filling it, closing it as she walked out.

"Will this be enough?" Jakob nodded.

"The time-turner only had a fraction of what was inside, so yes, it's enough. Now lets-"

"You won't go anywhere."

The red knight rolled his eyes as he turned. Would this misery never end?

In the narrow tunnel's entrance stood the priest together with Godrey and some of the knights, one of which Jakob recognised and smiled at.

"I always wondered what your actual reason for coming here was. I knew you were lying to me, but you made me curious," conveyed Father Quade as he took a few steps forward together with Godfrey, who wore a look of betrayal as he stared at Jakob.

"That sand doesn't belong to you. It will be returned back to our Emporer." Said the crowned man, drawing his sword together with the rest of the knights.

"Do you really want to do this now?" asked Jakob with a raised eyebrow towards the priest."

As Jakob talked, he gestured for Ivy to take out the portkey.

"You are abominations. The church will reward anyone who brings me his head." Said father Quade in a loud voice to the knights behind him, who took a step forward, swords drawn as they looked at the three of them with that glint of madness in their eyes.

"Before we leave, I need to take care of something. I made a promise to someone in this room." The red knight sheeted his sword and took out his wand.

"Jakob, what." Before Pansy could finish the sentence, a sickly pink spell flew from Jakob's wand, hitting the knight behind Godfrey in the stomach and cutting him in half.

"You cut my snake, and I returned the favour."

Ivy looked with wide eyes at the murder and glanced over to Pansy, who didn't seem to even care.

The priest held up his cross.

" Golpea os inimigos da luz!" A pure white ball of light started to grow at the centre of the cross, and Jakob ducked as a beam of pure starlight was shot towards him. The light soared over his head and hit Ivy right in the chest, making her take a step back in surprise. The girl looked confusedly towards Jakob and then the priest as nothing more happened.

"What the bloody hell was that?" asked the baffled redhead, staring at the father, Quade.

"Girl, it's not too late for you to repent for your sins. Stand with us and..."

Father Quade was stopped as a sickly purple spell soared towards him, slamming right onto his face. They all watched in horror as he started to cough violently and vomited up one organ after the other until death claimed him.

"You dare attack a man of the light?" roared Godfrey as he prepared to attack this new occult enemy.

"You are no crusader. You are satans work! a deceiver!" Before they could charge, Pansy held up the ring she had been gifted by Slytherin, creating a mist that covered the room in total darkness. The three students grabbed the amulet as they held onto one another.

"Hogwarts!" Yelled Jakob, and the portkey activated, teleporting them back to where they came from.

Present timeline.

"It's been almost 3 months now, Albus. Cant you tell us anything of what you have found?" Dumbledore sat in his seat, sighing as he watched the worry in James potters eyes.

"I'm sorry, James, but the information I have gathered is nothing I'm willing to share just yet. But rest assured that I am doing everything in my power to see that Ivy comes home before Christmas break.

James sat down with a defeated expression on his face.

"In these hard times, we must stand strong. Ivy wouldn't want you to worry, and she is in good hands. I'm sure that young heir Quade is taking good care of her."

"Why would he even care about her? he is a Slytherin and selfish. He cursed Ron and-"

"Enough. Don't speak badly about Jakob." interrupted Lilly and gave her son a firm look.

"He has done a lot for our family, and if the Headmaster is telling us that Ivy is alright, we need to trust him." sighed James.

When the three remaining Potters had left the room, Dumbledore leaned back and stared at his phoenix.

"I don't want to lie to them, Fawkes, but if they knew the truth, that I have nothing. They would be distraught, and we can't have that now. There is too much happening now, and I fear what will happen if Jakob doesn't return soon."

Back to the founder's timeline.

The weeks had progressed faster than Jakob would have liked. When they returned, they told the founders about their adventure, gaining the surprise and respect of even Slytherin.

Autumn slowly turned colder, and the leaves had already fallen off the trees when Ivy and Jakob yet again found themself in their common room. They had been working on the runes for weeks, and the previous love for the subject had slowly turned into an annoyance for the Quade heir.

"Jake, could it be this one?" The redhead held a book, showing a rune that matched the description Jakob had vaguely remembered. He leaned in, observing the small lines.

His eyes widened, and a smile grew on his face.

"That's the one. Now we only need the last one, and if i..."

Pansy, who was reading on the couch on the other side, stopped and glanced over to Jakob, who had stopped talking as he looked at one of the pages.

"We are finally done with this hell." Whispered the boy as he quickly scribbled down the two remaining runes making the symbol and completing the Runescheeme.

Pansy walked over, placing herself on Jakob's right side, and the three students looked at the complete picture.

"Are we finally returning home?" asked Pansy, hope shining in her eyes as she stared at Jakob for confirmation.

The Slytherin boy sighed and leaned back on the couch.

"No. We still need to ensure that someone in our timeline gets the information on how to open the door and what time to do it."

"That sounds almost impossible," complained Pansy switching from looking at Jakob and Ivy with a hopeless expression.

Ivy didn't say anything and glanced out the window, noticing that night had arrived.

Jakob frowned for a moment as he thought about the problem, and after a few seconds, a smile grew on his face.

"Don't wait up for me." The two girls looked confused as they saw the Slytherin boy get up from the couch and hurriedly exit their room.

Pansy glanced at the redhead who was sitting beside her, wearing a thoughtful expression.

"What the matter?"

"Nothing," answered Ivy quickly as she stood and entered her room.

"She sure is weird." shrugged the Slytherin girl as she, too, left to get her good night's sleep.

Jakob had taken a stroll and was standing in the great hall, looking at the enchanted ceiling above.

"It looks exactly the same." whispered the boy, and a smile grew on his face.

"What are you doing here? You know you aren't allowed to be in the great hall." The time traveller turned and saw that the person who had spoken to him was exactly the one he wanted to see.

"Lady Ravenclaw, I would like your help with something."

Morgan sat in her studies as she usually did at this time of the night and wrote in her grimoire. A knock made her raise her quill and close the book in front of her.

"Enter." The door opened carefully, and Jakob walked inside carrying a wooden box.

"I'm sorry to disturb you at this time, but I only wanted to tell you something.

The woman taking Jakob under her wing these past weeks, trying to show him everything she knew, raised an eyebrow in amusement.

"Oh? and what would that be?"

Jakob walked forward and put down the box on her desk.

"We have found a way back and will return in the morning. I only managed to get one tressure from the trip to Jerusalem. I wish you to have it as a sign of gratitude for everything you have done for me these past weeks."

Morgan slowly opened the box and looked at the normal-looking chalice inside.

"You shouldn't have." Said the woman looking unimpressed at the cup.

"It looks quite boring, I know." Chuckled the boy.

"It seemed important for the crusaders, and I thought you might want to study it. There is some kind of magic on it that I have never felt before."

The older woman looked at the boy and then at the cup again.

"If I find anything, I will write it down." She got up, walked over to Jakob, and hugged the boy she would undoubtedly miss.

Back to the present timeline.

Dumbledore was sitting on his seat in the great hall, trying to enjoy the food on his plate. The headmaster's appetite had not been present for weeks, with everyone looking towards him for an answer which he hadn't.

The minister even gave him a deadline to have the children return before the end of next week.

What Dumbledore wasn't aware of was that a letter was placed behind one of the wooden beams in the ceiling, hidden away from view.

That letter had been placed there by Ravenclaw, who had also made a small rune system to stick it in place for a certain amount of time, being strengthened by Hogwart's own magic. Similar to what she had done to the room of requirement.

It was created by Jakob Quade and witnessed countless children being sorted through the years. It had seen a new younger Jakob being sorted into the Slytherin house, and if it had been sentient, it would have known that its long wait would soon be over. The headmaster sat deep in thought, not noticing the rune being deactivated. The envelope containing the handwritten letter slowly fell off the wooden beam and flowed down.

A frown appeared on the light leader's face, and he looked up, observing the envelope slowly falling towards him. Teachers and students stopped their conversations as they had noticed the same thing as the headmaster, and with an outstretched hand. The envelope landed gently on his palm, and when Dumbledore saw the handwriting, his eyes sparkled.

Dumbledore slowly opened the Hogwarts seal and took out the letter inside, a smile growing as he read the instructions.

"What is it? Who is it from?" Asked Mcgonagall curiously, with everyone holding their breath so they would hear what the headmaster said.

"It's from Heir Quade Minerva. He has given me the instructions, time and place to open the door for him and his two companions."

Lilly had been lucky to be seated as she almost fainted and had to lean back in her chair.

Dumbledore rose as he continued reading the paper.

"When are they coming? Where have they been?" asked the redheaded mother as Dumbledore read the end of the letter, and his eyebrow rose.

"They will be arriving at exactly 10 o'clock with the aid of the four founders."

The teachers and students in the hall looked baffled at the headmaster as joy filled his mind and heart once again.

"Back to the founder's timeline."

Jakob opened his dorm room door and walked inside, tired but happy after finishing the preparations for their journey back home tomorrow.

He took off his clothes and lay down under his covers, closing his eyes as he let sleep take him to the land of dreams. The door opened slowly, allowing some fireplace light inside the room. Jakob, who was almost asleep, didn't even have the strength to open his eyes as he heard the hurried footsteps.

A smile graced his face as the covers were temporarily lifted, and another body entered the warmth.

"When we get back, you won't have to..." Something was different. The body wasn't the shape that he was used to. He opened his eyes, seeing Ivy looking at him with a mixture of sadness and want.

"Ivy, what's the matter? Why are you..."

She kissed him, and he felt the warm skin of her body press against his side.

He felt her hand almost instantly start to search his body for a specific part, pausing her kissing as her warm hand went inside his boxers. His eyes widened for a second as she started to slowly caress him.

Jakob, tired and in no mood to even try talking sense into the redhead, did the same thing he had done last time and slowly moved his hand up her leg. But this time, she didn't jerk away. Ivy was ready. She moved her leg a bit, making it easier for him to continue his path. He frowned, feeling more aroused and confused over the situation. Her hand movement became harder and faster as he reached his goal.

He continued a bit faster, knowing that he wouldn't hold if she continued on like this, and when he met resistance, his eyes widened at the feel. She was warm, and he could feel her moving slowly up and down, not having the patience to wait for him to start.

A small noise slipped from her mouth, and the hand that had worked so hard hesitated for e few seconds. Jakob had no idea what he was even doing now and did what he would have done if he was on top of her. He began moving his fingers opposite Ivy's hip movement, pressing harder and feeling the texture of her underwear becoming slightly damper. Sensing what was behind her panties and hearing her panting almost drove the teenager mad, and his mind only had one thought as he leaned in.

The two kissed each other again, knowing that one of them was about to lose. Ivy noticed that his fingers lost focus and that the kissing slowed down as Jakob tried to keep a hold of himself.

With victory in her mind, she continued harder and stopped the kiss staring him in the eyes as she enjoyed the face he was making.

As he saw the glint in her eyes and felt the warmth of her body, The Slytherin boy desperately tried to move away her grip, not admitting defeat towards the Gryffindor redhead.

The redhead was prepared for the cheating and quickly straddled him, continued using her body as the tool, and rubbed herself back and forth with a quick tempo. The bed started to creak, and Jakob, who had tried to push her off him, found himself with his hand nailed down by her own as she continued.

Ivy was about to feel the explosion in herself, but the worry and lust changed to a smirk as she looked down, seeing that Jakob had closed his eyes. With unnatural strength, he released himself from her grip and seized her ass as he pressed with everything he had, lifting her up from the bed a few centimetres as he came.

Her smirk changed to shock as she noticed that her panties and thighs got soaked in a warm liquid, and she stared at him, trying to remember everything. The sensation, his face, his touch.

When he was done, his body relaxed, and Ivy watched the boy look at her in surprise.

" You liked that, didn't you?" asked the redhead, kissing his lips and waiting for his reply.

" You know that we can't continue this when we get back home," whispered Jakob, looking away from her.

" You will be with your friends, and I will be with mine. Ivy, you are only punishing yourself."

Ivy smiled as she moved off him, laying down on his arm.

" Why can't we? I want to be with you, and you-"

" You don't want to be with me. You have created some delusional picture of what you think I am."

She wiped away a tear as he again found a way to ruin the moment.

" One day, you will see what I do, and we can finally start our little adventure." She leaned in and kissed him on his cheek. Ivy then got up and hurried out of his room, closing the door gently behind her.

"Shit. Why is she so persistent?" Jakob took his wand, cleaned himself up, and stared at the ceiling.

"If she knew who I was and what I was planning, she would never want to look at me again."

The next day the three stood on the rune scheme that Jakob had prepared. The four founders stood in front of them with Morgan, who gave Jake a gentle smile.

" It has been an honour to meet you all. Thank you for the hospitality." Said Jakob and took a bow, Pansy and Ivy following suit.

"Nonsense, you are our students. If we weren't helping you. we could just as well close the school." Answered Hufflepuff, giving them all a warm teary smile.

" Take care, Jakob, and remember to read the book when you get back." The Quade heir turned his attention to Morgan and gave the woman a grateful bow.

With the pouch of sand tied on his side, Jakob put his hand inside and then turned to his friends.

"Are you two ready?"

Back to the Present timeline.

"They will be here in any minute, so prepare yourself."

Dumbledore turned and looked at the three families standing a few meters away.

A lot of people wanted to witness the return. Even the ministry had voiced their opinion, but with Lord Quade's help, Dumbledore managed to keep the welcoming feast small.

He glanced over at Thomas, who stared at the rune system expectantly. Jakob's sister, a blonde girl, stood beside him, wearing a stoic look. Still, Dumbledore could see that her eyes were betraying her true emotion of worry.

Beside them stood the Parkinsons. They wore the exact expression as the younger blonde beside them.

A few meters from the two dark families stood Harry with Lilly, James and Sirius.

There had been a discussion about letting the lord Black participate. But as the two dark families didn't really care about the idiot Auror, they gave in after they got a promise that no one else would be present.

Of course, the whole school of students and teachers stood inside Hogwarts, staring through different windows to witness the thing of the century.

"Are you sure about this?" Asked James with worry lacing his voice.

"Don't be an idiot. If my son was the one who gave the information, you could be sure of it." Snorted Thomas, but something in his voice seemed different, thought Dumbledore. It was almost as if his heart wasn't really in it. James didn't respond and felt almost a bit relieved hearing the words of lord Quade.

Dumbledore was about to say something when the runes started to glow a faint red growing stronger and brighter every second.

"Get ready!" yelled Dumbledore and took a step back, staring excitedly at the circle starting had started giving off a low hum.

An explosion of white light made everyone shield their eyes. Dumbledore and the rest looked over at the three students when the light disappeared.

But they weren't three. Pansy and Ivy looked around, wearing an expression of panic.

"Jakob! Jakob, where are you?" yelled Ivy, tears in her eyes as she searched around, hoping to find him somewhere.

"Where is my son!" roared Thomas, And Pansy looked over to the man.

"We were on our way here. Everything was spinning. He... He smiled at us and told us that we would arrive soon, but then he frowned. Something grabbed him and pulled him out of the circle. We tried to catch him, but it all happened too fast, and..." The girl got to her knees and started crying. The Parkinson's and Potter's rushed over to the two distraught girls trying their best to console them.

Thomas's eyes widened, and he stared towards Dumbledore, and for the first time lord Quade showed one true emotion, fear.

" What could possibly do something like that?" Dumbledore, who was as shocked as Thomas, looked around, trying to search his mind for something that could explain this.

"I don't know, but we need to make another door. Hurry!"

Authors note: Hey guys, and sorry for the wait. I had some things that needed to be done in real life, and when I finally was done, I found myself in a bit of a writing block.

But now I feel the flow again and will hopefully begin updating like usual. Hope you enjoyed the chapter, and take care.

Cheers!
