A.N. Honestly I debated this chapter. It was unbelievably hard to write and I'm not sure if it's completely necessary. I just think that some of these chapters are cute. I might cut this eventually but for now here it is. Thanks for reading.

Chapter 6

Four pov

We escaped to our rooms quickly after that, but as soon as Tris shut the door I can't help but laugh. After a minute she joins in.

"That was awful." She declares.

"Agreed. I can't imagine what was going through everyone's minds. Let alone your parents."

"I honestly never want to know." she replies.

"It's going to take a while to live this down isn't it." I say "My friends are nosy enough as it is."

"They can't be that nosy if they haven't interrogated you to the depths of your soul yet." She says smirking.

I shake my head slightly amused. "They know my limits of what I'll take for questions. They will ask all about you though."

"What do you mean?"

"Back in dauntless they spent forever asking me about you. They suspected something was up for a while. I never confirmed it and always brushed them off but they were insistent." I answer. "You probably didn't notice but they gave me so many looks when we got here. Almost every time you said something." I add shaking my head.

She laughs a slight blush in her cheeks.

"I love it when you blush." Her blush gets darker and she covers her cheeks with her hands. "It's adorable." Walking over to her I gently peel away her hands and kiss her cheeks. Then I kiss her lips. I will probably never get enough of this.

Eventually we pull apart for air. I debate it for a second. We have read it in the books but I haven't actually done it, but I want to, so I go for it, and kiss her neck. I hear her sigh quietly like she was trying to hide it. I don't mention it. I kiss her neck for another moment before moving up to her jaw and eventually back up to her lips.

"I love you."

She smiles and drags me over to the bed so we can sit down.

"I have a question." she says after a few minutes of silence.

I nod, smiling, and continue to run my fingers through her hair, "You always do."

"Why don't you like Caleb? You never gave a real reason beyond not trusting him but you don't trust anybody, and usually it wouldn't keep you from liking someone."

"First off, that's not true, I trust you."

"Only me"

"Also true." I can't argue the point. I trust my friends but I don't at the same time. I never told them any of my secrets -I still don't really. Mentally I know I can trust them, I just never actually do it.

"So why?"

I shrug and debate answering but I can't really lie to her and she isn't one to let things go. "How would he have known something was happening beyond assumption? It's weird that no one in the Erudite headquarters who's a normal citizen knew or defected other than your brother, who just so happened to show up in time to meet up with your parents? How did he even figure that out anyway? It seems in Erudite at least that it was kept quiet other than the reports. I don't know, it just seems kind of off."

"Well you found out." she points out.

"Yeah well I had to deal with dauntless level of cyber security. He would have had to deal with Erudite security which I am willing to bet is much tighter than dauntless'." I shake my head. "I'm just being paranoid, or overthinking it. I don't know."

"Well as much as I hate to admit it your reasoning makes sense. I just don't believe he would do such a thing."

I nod in acknowledgment but don't say anymore.

Erudite changes people. There is so much manipulation and brainwashing in Erudite I don't know what her brother would do after that -if he fell for it at all. But she wants to think the best of her brother. She loves him, and I am not going to interfere with that.

"Does it bother you that I don't like him?" I ask.

"Not really. You're trying, which is enough for me." I nod. "Do you really think your father is talking nonsense?" she asks.

"Maybe I don't know. Like I said I'm clearly biased, but seeing both sides. I don't know." I sigh, flopping backwards onto the bed. "Can we talk about anything else?"

"Fine, how about no talking."

And she kisses me.
