Note: Happy Thanksgiving for those in the West, anyone that doesn't celebrate, feel free to ignore also announcement at the end of the chapter.
Chapter 4
The First bell and the Arena
Naruto sat by the bond fire and just sighed. Taking down that dragon had proven to be a nuisance. He was aware that thing was worth more dead than alive but he couldn't hide his annoyance at the fact the creature had made his life harder in that small instance. He personally didn't care that the drake dropped something after he damaged its tail he was just happy to get a moment to breath.
But after resting on the bond fire he knew he would have to get moving and he could only wonder,
'What is going to be awaiting me at the first bell?'
Naruto stood to his feet and over to the mechanical switch by the sealed gate and pulled it. After the switch hit the ground, the gate lifted itself up, and allowed Naruto entrance into the new area. Walking up the stairs Naruto saw an opening with some fire on the ground and a staircase to his right in a entrance way. While at the same time ahead of him was some crossbow wielding skeletons, some heavier armored undead, and some giant war pig.
"I doubt you'll taste delicious if I cook you."
Naruto shook his head and quickly drew out his new sword that seemed to drop from the creature he killed. It was a jagged blade and had scale like design, but he didn't pay much attention to it.
The first armored knight attacked him the minute he reached the top of the stairs. The being lifted his blade above his head and Naruto thrusted his blade into the face of the undead and pulled it downward cutting the being in half from the face down. From there, he walked past the dust and souls that were gathering and walked past the arch but quickly heard shuffling to his right. Turning his head slightly he saw another one of the undead charging him but this time he swiftly slashes the sword across his neck chopping its head clean off. The body of the creature collapsed and turned to dust and all Naruto could do is sigh in annoyance.
That is when he hears a roar and turns to see the pig charging him. Naruto glared and saw the beasts lowering its head as to run him through with either the charge or its tusks but Naruto quickly rolled to the archway. There he hid between some pillars that as soon as the creature tried to push through, found itself stuck and not able to move. It released a blood curdling roar, but Naruto didn't want to deal with him that he slammed his sword into the eye of the giant pig.
The creature bucked and fell backwards in pain, screaming in rage from the unbearable pain it was now forced to endure. Sadly for it, Naruto saw this coming and quickly pulled his sword out of its injured eye letting it fall back into the wall. But before the creature could move further after dropping back down onto all four. Naruto summoned one of his daggers he had collected and threw it into the other eye.
The creature screamed in pain and thrashed around. It was trampling all over the area and Naruto smiled while watching it run off in random directions rushing into walls, crushing creates, and crushing the other undead under its massive weight. The boar was attacked by the archers who were trying to shoot the beast dead but only managed to enrage it further or hit the armor making the bolts bounce off.
Naruto could only smile as the creature just wriggled and screamed in pain. He could see it clearing out most of the undead for him so he decided one of the best things to do was take out the archers so pulling out two more daggers he threw them into the head of the archers making them fall to the ground with a thud and turn to dust before their souls transfer over to him.
From this, Naruto saw the pig rushing into the fire and after burning a bit turned around and sniffed the air before rushing to where he was at the stairwell. Naruto quickly rolled out of the way and got behind the pig before slamming his blade into its ass.
The creature squeals in pain before collapsing on the ground and turning to dust and Naruto finding a large collection of souls and smiling.
"One down, hopefully nothing too crazy happens after this."
Turning from the pig Naruto examined the closed gate and saw a small path leading downward to its side. Walking down Naruto proceeded to kill his way through some undead and proceeded to climb up some stairs and examine the room he was in. He managed to find some large clumps of souls on some bodies and some hidden spots behind some barrels he had to break. From there, he climbed up a ladder and found another large orb of souls sitting on a beam.
After collecting everything in the room of value, Naruto proceed to climb up another ladder and upon reaching the top looked around to find nothing of value. Walking to the opening he saw a white fog blocking off the exit and he frowned.
'Kurama are you seeing this is there anything malicious about this?'
"From the looks of it, the gate is not going to stop you from getting through. I can't explain it Naruto I think you're just going to have to walk through."
Naruto nodded his head and after putting his hand on the fog he felt it give and thus pushed through the fog to find himself on the other side.
He looked over the edge and saw that he was standing high above the spot where he battled the pig and sighed before walking down the walkway to try and make sense of this place and find some way to open that gate down below or at least another way around it. But when looking over he squinted his eyes and saw something standing in a lone tower.
'Kurama is that another one of those big black knights we saw earlier?'
"Yeah it looks like it, my guess is that we missed some entrance or something if he is just sitting there high up in his tower."
'True, might want to go back for him later but for now I think it is best we just deal with the gate.'
"Agreed. Ring the bell and we can take care of that guy later."
Naruto proceeded down the walkway and saw one leading to a staircase going up while the other leads to what it looks like a winding path. So, heading to his right he saw an oddly dressed undead.
It had a helmet on his head oddly shaped in the form of a cage rather than the dome cap he had seen before, a straight sword in his hand, and a small shield but it was wearing a red cape marking him as a new enemy or a different kind of soldier compared to his counter parts.
Seeing its vision is focused on something in front of him, Naruto walks up to the creature slowly making sure not to give away his position, slowly inching closer and closer to the knight.
By the time he was inches from the knight, it started to notice something or someone behind him and stir to turn around.
"Too late."
Naruto slammed his sword through its back and out through its chest. Naruto smiled, before pulling his blade upward cutting through the creature's right shoulder and leaving gasping in pain.
It fell to its knees and then onto its face before its souls leave its body and disappears in a flash of dust.
Naruto shook his head before walking to the dead body that was sitting there.
'Guess he must have killed this one or maybe something in its memories recognized the person on the ground or someone like them?'
Walking up to the body he saw it was an armored person, but the most striking thing was the colorful shield sitting on its body. Picking it up he examined it a bit before shaking his head sending the shield away.
While he understood the appeal of a shield when combating some of his enemies Naruto preferred to fight without extra weight allowing him to maneuver with greater ease.. Turning around, Naruto proceeds back to the staircase. Walking up the stairs he saw two paths before him: one leading another undead with a spear and shield by some barrels, another path leading to entrance way where he can only see the sun in the distance.
Walking up to the undead by the barrels he dashes past the slow charge of his spear and gets behind the undead allowing him to impale the creature through the back turning it to dust. From this point, he finds nothing behind the barrels and proceeds down the other hallway. From there, he senses something off, so he slowly emerges from the hall and sees one of the knights with the red cape looking straight at him from his left while on his right another undead with a spear and shield is standing there and looking at him.
Being caught in this Naruto quickly appears in the opening making both creatures charge at him with the one with the large shield raise his sword and thrusted it.
Naruto quickly diverts the swing of the armored knight and had it impaled its ally through the chest making it groan in pain from the strike. Naruto sees the opening in the helmet due to the cage being left up and without hesitation Naruto thrusts through the face and makes it moan before slumping over. Naruto sighed and proceeded to kick the undead away allowing him to fall backwards dead on the ground.
Walking down the entry way, Naruto notices a path to his left and the one in front of him leading to another open area with two undead and a wooden bridge connecting them. Deciding against going in that direction, Naruto walks to his left and proceeds down the walkway. After exiting the walkway, Naruto saw that he was standing on a staircase leading inside of the church while the other leads down to the sealed gate. Wanting to get some rest, Naruto proceeds down the staircase and slashing through an undead to reach the switch and open the gate.
"There, easier for me to get back without having to make that grand detour."
Naruto turns to the corpse and sees a key lying on his body and figuring there must be some importance to the key he picks it up and walks back to the bond-fire.
Once there he sits down and sighs before closing his eyes and having a fitful dream.
Flash Back Begins
Naruto could feel his head throbbing and his body relaxing. He had to thank Sasuke when he saw him again, he really needed this more than anything.
A banging was made at his door, but Naruto ignored it.
The banging grew louder for a few seconds, but Naruto continued to ignore it to try and get some sleep.
Finally, after a third set of rapid banging Naruto just drifted off to sleep, but soon awoke when he felt someone pulling him off his bed.
Clearing his eyes, he saw through his blurred vision that it was a pissed off Hiashi Hyuuga glaring at him with pure venom in his eyes.
"Where were you!?"
Naruto raised an eyebrow,
"Here sleeping. You know something I haven't done in a few days since every fucker in this village decides to shove their fucking missions on me when they don't want to do their job but want to get paid."
Hiashi glared harder and his eyes activated. When he was a child, they intimidated him but now, it was just nothing more than a nuisance.
"Bastard because of you my daughter got severely injured on her mission! You could have helped instead you were being fucking selfish!"
Naruto glared, gripping the man's wrist and without hesitation started crushing it in his grip. The man grunted in pain before trying to send a strike to his chest, but Naruto smashes his head into his nose leaving a sickening crunch for all in the room. Naruto then pulls him forward and slams his right knee into his balls making him fall to the ground in a thud.
"Fuck you, asshole." Naruto released his hand and when Hiashi glared Naruto just channeled Kurama's chakra into his eyes making them red. "Try me."
"ENOUGH!"
Everyone turned to see Neji standing there with a glare on his face. "Everyone stand down immediately!"
Turning to Naruto, he saw the blank, bored expression on his face. But he continued to glare,
"Naruto where were you, Hinata and her team got ambushed on a joint mission with Kiba and his team. She suffered serious damage that might render her without chakra."
Naruto yawned making Hiashi growl and Neji glare harder.
"Hey, I was trying to catch up on some sleep after eating and drinking with Sasuke. It's not my fucking job to be the person everyone asks for whenever the smallest shit happens. Want someone with faster reaction? Then get your fucking ANBU to do something, don't come crying to me."
"Naruto this is exactly the reason that you won't become Hokage. If you don't start changing that attitude then you'll never achieve it."
Neji really wanted Naruto to understand that he had to start thinking about the village's interests even in moments like this if he ever wanted to-,
"Who ever said I wanted that fucking position anymore?"
The ANBU, the Hyuuga, Neji, and Hiashi all stared at Naruto as if he grew a second head.
"Do I want to be Hokage anymore? No one has asked that question but since you brought it up, no I don't want it. Let someone else deal with the political bullshit of this village. All I have ever been a fucking tool to the rest of you; you aren't my friends and you sure as shit ain't my family. You want a fucking hero that wants to be Hokage? Find someone else because that Naruto is dead."
Neji growled,
'Idiot you were so fucking close!'
The ANBU were looking at one another in concern, when word gets around and when Suna finds out, there was going to be hell to pay. Gaara had only kept up with his good faith wanting to see Naruto treated with respect and possibly becoming his fellow Kage but if he finds out about this who knows? Gaara might just end their village's relationship and allow Naruto to move to Suna so he can find some peace and quiet.
Hiashi on the other hand snorted,
"Well, who needs a Hokage who can't even protect one team? If you are this selfish to blame everyone else for your short comings then I guess you never were serious about the job and that the 3rd wasted his time on you."
Naruto turned to Hiashi and stared at him in the face.
Then Hiashi was on the ground with his hand covering his eyes and blood gushing out of his hands.
The Hyuuga clan members rushed to their clan heads side to try and help him while Neji stared in shock as Naruto was holding a kunai in his hand and there was evidence of his action with blood dripping off the blade.
"You know," Naruto growled, "the 3rd did me dirty, yes he lied to me and deceived me but, the man at least gave two fucks about my well-being and owned up to his lies. That is better than the rest of you fuckers, so hear is MY fucking warning. Speak ill of a man that gave his soul for this village, speak of my parents, or speak of anyone I hold dear, and I promise, I will fucking kill you without hesitation and make sure your head is sent to your loved ones." Turning his head to Neji, "Consider this my resignation from this fucking force, now all of you get the fuck out of my house before I kill you all."
Neji stared at Naruto before silently walking out of the building while the ANBU escorted the rest off the property with one wearing a monkey mask staring at him for a few seconds. Then he nodded his head and continued on his way with Hiashi screaming in pain and making demands against Naruto, but this only made the clan argue against him.
Naruto wiped the blood off his kunai and sighed,
"What a fucking great night."
Flash Back Ends
Naruto woke with a sigh,
"Should have killed that fucking Hyuuga prick."
Standing up, Naruto walked back up the staircase before seeing an entryway to a tower staircase. Walking up the spiraling staircase, Naruto saw that it led to an opening where he saw the faint image of the black knight standing there with his back to him.
Smiling Naruto slowly inched his way up, got behind the knight and with a mighty thrust impaled him through the back. The knight grunted but quickly swung around leaving Naruto's sword in his chest.
"Great hey I'm going to need that back so,"
The knight slashed downward at Naruto, but he rolled past the attack and appeared behind him and pulled his sword out.
The knight grunted before swinging backwards, allowing Naruto to take a step back and dodge the strike by mere inches. But the knight pulled his shield up and prepared to a counterattack.
Naruto didn't bother slashing at the shielding knowing he had to wait for his chance.
The knight quickly pulled his sword back and waited a few seconds, then when Naruto saw his shoulder push forward slightly and his blade starting to rush forward, Naruto quickly jumped to the side of the sword and without hesitation slashed at the knight's neck sending him falling sideways to the ground.
The knight rolled over but the minute his face was up, a blade went through the slit of his helmet making it gush out blood and soon groan from the pain and disappear altogether.
Naruto saw the body disappear, but it dropped something in the form of some dark metal and a matching shield for his sword. Touching the shield, it disappeared in a bright light along with the metal ore.
"Might be useful later but I'll have to find someone that can confirm what this stuff is and what I can use it for."
Walking out of the tower, Naruto proceeded to the front of the church again and sighed before walking into the main entry way. There he saw another one of those knights with the red cape rushing at him.
Without warning Naruto jumped backwards from its forward thrust and thrusted his sword into its face. The creature died with a groan and disappeared into dust. Naruto sighed before walking into the cathedral.
But the minute he cleared the main entrance he heard something behind him and thus rolled forward just enough to avoid something swishing through the air.
Another red cape knight, Naruto was about to lash out at it but then heard another set of steps and turned to see another one of the knights in front of him.
On instinct, Naruto pushed off his feet, sending his head right into the undead's face sending it reeling back from the impact, before finding his sword running into the hole of his helmet making it groan and turn to dust.
Naruto reacted on instinct, jumped to hide behind a pillar forcing the creature to dig his blade straight into the stone. But its blade broke upon impact leaving it with a worthless sword and confusing the undead.
Taking the moment of confusion, Naruto rushed and cut the undead's ankles, letting it fall face first onto the ground and then impaling him through the back killing the creature.
Naruto pulled his blade up out of the ground and turned to see at the other side of the cathedral by some podium or something, Naruto wasn't sure, was another knight but this one was different than all the other knights. He was bigger, carrying a large shield, a tower shield if Naruto was correct, while carrying a large mace in his right hand. The man was covered in steel armor from head to toe with only the smallest slit in the helmet pad by the mask covering his jaw.
Walking to him slowly Naruto took in his surroundings and saw a few pews that he could take advantage of while also seeing the figure just waiting for him to get closer.
Naruto sensed something coming from above, so he quickly rolled to his right and looked up quickly to see some kind of being standing there looking down on him. He didn't get a good look at the figure, but he could see it waving some kind of staff in the air and that made him more nervous so acting on instinct he rolled back underneath the archway to hide from the magic caster.
But the thudding steps alerted him to the giant knight at the front coming for him. Seeing this, Naruto quickly put one of the pews in his way but the man just slammed is mace down and crushed the pew in half; sending the wood everywhere and causing Naruto to watch where the wood went to avoid it getting into his eye.
The man lumbered to his get his mace back up and Naruto quickly acted on this slashing at him with his sword. But the man brought his shield up and stopped his strike cold sending him tumbling backwards.
When he raised his mace to slash, Naruto realized that he had to act quick.
When the mace slashed, Naruto fell onto his back and avoided the strike entirely. Putting his sword on the ground Naruto held his hand out and thought about what he wanted.
'Please let this fucking work.'
A small dagger appeared in his hand, and he smiled, before flinging the dagger at the small slit in his helmet. Luckily compared to kunai and shuriken these daggers were far easier to use and to aim than anything he had thrown before.
The dagger went into the slit of the helmet, making the massive, armored man tumble backwards a few steps.
Naruto lashed out with his sword slashing at his chest making him tumble some more. But Naruto saw that he regained his balance and swung his mace to get him to back up. Naruto did take a step back and avoided the swing.
'Fuck I can't find a good opening and that dagger won't work again if he learns like most enemies do.' Smiling, 'So when in doubt, even the playing field.'
He swung his mace once more and Naruto pushed to the left side of the man where he could see the man's side. But instead of going for his armor, he swung his sword down shocking the undead with his blade cutting through the armor wrist holding his tower shield.
The undead warrior looked at his shield for a second but then turned his attention back to Naruto who after doing this motioned him with his tilted back head, leading to the knight to release what sounded like a huff.
Seeing this, Naruto waited for him to swing but he charged this time trying to run him into the wall with his helmet thanks to its odd head-piece design.
Naruto seeing this pivoted around the charge and while his head was down Naruto quickly raised his sword up and then brought it down with great speed leading to it hitting his neckline.
A clang was heard first but soon the sound of a thump was heard.
The knight's head fell to the ground and his body soon followed with a loud bang leading to Naruto staring at the knight's helmet.
"Impressive strength you had, and you really made me work for it. But sadly, for you, I'm your worst possible match up."
The body disappeared in an explosion of dust and ash and Naruto felt a large amount of light entering his body and he smiled.
"Strong enemies have big rewards."
'Kit is losing his mind talking to himself but then again probably the only thing that is helping him process this shit.'
Naruto looked seeing another one of those black shards on the ground, he touched it and made it vanish and sighed,
"Got to figure out what that stuff is used for but for now, got to deal with my shooter. Whatever he is firing I don't want to get hit by it."
Turning to the front, Naruto notices some kind of odd white energy sitting there and he frowned. While he found others like it before something about this felt different and so he decided he needed to grab it but probably on his way out considering whoever was up there was watching for him.
So, walking past the elevator, Naruto hid behind one of the smaller pillars when he noticed the blue light coming straight at him. The pillar blocked the attack, but he narrowed his eyes at the figure standing there and seemingly squirming with his large staff waving around. Naruto knew that he had to kill that guy before he became an even bigger problem as it was already becoming exceedingly annoying to deal with him or explore with those things coming after him.
Walking up the staircase to hide from the monster's next attack he saw another one of the red caped knights.
He quickly dispatched him by summoning another knife and throwing it straight into his face with enough force to go out the back of his head and sticking into the small roof of the opening partition. Walking up, he held his hand out and made the dagger disappear before turning to see several undead rushing at him. Due to the narrow space of the hallway, Naruto figured they were trying to overwhelm him so acting on instinct Naruto quickly started cutting them all down leaving none of them standing as he walked around the corner and saw the man flinging spells at him. Now that he got a better look at the man he saw that he was some armored covered figure with a weird helmet that had six eyes set into it. Naruto was a bit freaked out by this but shook it off.
Avoiding one of his spells, he managed to get around the pillar and without hesitation slammed his blade into its stomach, but it raised its trident into the air and started to glow slightly. Naruto couldn't hear it speak but knew right away he needed to end this quickly, so he figured the best thing to do was run him through.
So, he did, pushing his blade deep into his chest and going over the ledge with them both crashing to the ground with a vicious thud with Naruto on his side holding the wounded spot of his missing arm while the being itself just laid there, his blade sticking out of his chest. This being made no sound, no noise, just died on the spot. But unlike the knights and the others before it, this one didn't seem to disappear, confusing Naruto.
He stood up massaging his wound, before pulling his blade out of the creature's chest. Walking back up the stairs Naruto explored the upper floors a bit killing another red caped knight and then finding some more souls that he could put into his body.
He eventually stumbled onto a shabby set of wooden doors and cut them open, leading to a sparce room with a staircase. Naruto was confused by the sight of the staircase so out of curiosity he walked up the stairs and saw a locked room. Sitting there was a man in golden armor with unusual design for his helmet.
The man tilted his head up slightly,
"Ah, someone new and you seem to have your faculties about you. If you wouldn't mind would you lend me a hand, I'm currently stuck at this time."
Naruto raised an eyebrow and while he wanted to help he couldn't help thinking,
'Something is really off about this guy. I might not be able to use my emotional sensing skill anymore, but I can tell there has to be a reason for the man to be imprisoned here.'
Smiling,
"Sure, when I find your key I'll come back and help you."
"Thank you sir, my name is Knight Lautrec of Carim and I would be in your debt if you do help me."
Naruto nodded his head and walked away from the cage hiding his frown,
"Kurama, did you see that guy a second ago?"
"Yeah I did, do you really think that guy is that off I mean people are not exactly normal in this land and he might just have been a poor fool trapped here."
"Maybe but something about him doesn't make sense if he made it all the way here, who would be able to trap him in that room I mean it wasn't like he locked himself in that cage right?"
"True hard to say kit but it is your choice, just be careful the last thing we need is more enemies in an unknown land."
"You don't have to tell me twice."
Naruto proceeded out of the room and walked into the final room where he saw a ladder leading to a higher floor. So, walking up the ladder he saw another one of the smoke doors like before and frowned at why they were just now appearing before him. But he guessed that in this area things were different.
Looking at the door he was about to walk through until he saw dark writing on the floor that was glowing. He frowned, before touching it.
Kurama slapped his face with his palm not believing Naruto was that stupid to do something so reckless without knowing what it meant.
But he knew he was that dumb even after all these years.
Naruto is shocked in a bright light he saw Solaris appear before him and saw the man brimming.
"My friend I'm glad you have summoned me! Are you planning on challenging the guardian of the bell!"
"Um, yes quick question how the fuck did you do that."
"Magic."
…
….. "Yes?"
Naruto held his hands up,
"Fuck it, let's go I'll learn more about this magic shit as I'm already dealing with spells might as well learn how this summoning stuff works."
Solaris laughed before both pushed through the fog door.
There they were standing on the roof of the building and Naruto saw the entryway to the bell that he heard about and how it was just right there in the middle of some statues of some ugly creatures.
Naruto frowned,
"Guard up, this is too easy."
Solaris nodded,
"Indeed friend, there is something evil here wait for us to slip up."
Naruto looked around the roof and tried to find the culprit or something that would explain why people haven't made it to the bell or made it just this far in so long.
That was until he heard something flapping so turning his head he saw one of the gargoyles situated on the tower moving and flying downward.
"Solaris above us! It is the gargoyles!"
The knight turned and gasped,
"By Lord Gwyn! This is truly a horrifying sight but don't despair together we can defeat this creature!"
Naruto nodded his head, holding his sword tightly in his hand as the creature landed on the roof and growled at them. Holding a halberd in his hand and swinging the weapon at them.
Naruto rolled under his strike and Solaris jumped backwards, with the creature leaping into the air and flapping his wings while growling. But he quickly landed and took another wild swing at them with Naruto rolling under him once more but this time, appearing behind him.
Seeing the swinging tail Naruto narrowed his eyes at it and quickly slashed his blade down cutting it off and making it drop some kind of weapon on the roof. Naruto didn't bother picking it up, as now the Gargoyle turned back to him and quickly lashed out with a powerful slam with his halberd shaking the roof slightly.
'Yeah he didn't like that.'
Solaris taking this chance landed a few quick slashes against the creature's side making it roar and slash at him but he quickly blocked it with his shield, but he was sent flying backwards a few feet.
Naruto frowned and quickly leapt into action slashing at the creature with his sword, making the creature growl and swing in a complete circle to try and hit him. But Naruto managed to duck on his spin and slash from a down position into a upward strike, cutting deep into the creature's stone skin.
The beast growled once more and lifted his halberd to bring it down on Naruto.
Solaris had repositioned himself behind the creature slammed his blade into its back making it scream in pain.
"My friend do it now!"
Naruto nodded his head jumping up, he quickly slashes at the gargoyles face to try and end the fight, but his eyes widened that while it cut through the stone, it just smashed him with his shield arm and sent him crashing into the ground.
Naruto coughed and looked up, seeing something flying down, he shouted,
"Solaris behind you!"
Turning his head, the knight saw another gargoyle appear but this time instead of closing the distance on him, it opened its mouth and spewed hot flames at the knight. Luckily Solaris got his shield up in time and blocked the attack, but he was definitely shakened by the move.
Naruto saw the gargoyle with his halberd rushing at him while taking Solaris's sword with him leaving the knight without a blade.
Seeing the predicament, he acted quick. Rushing at the gargoyle he saw it come with a wide swing with his weapon and Naruto cringed,
'Time this right or we are fucked.'
It released its sideways swing and aimed for Naruto. Naruto jumped over the attack, managing to dodge the swing by inches, and lifted his blade over his head and slashed down on the beast's hand cutting it off from its weapon.
The creature roared seeing its weapon on the ground and reached for it with his shield hand. But found it couldn't do that without dropping its shield. impossible for him and Naruto quickly drove his blade through the mouth of the monster causing it to scream in pain and then fall to the ground disappearing from his sight.
"One down." Naruto grabbed Solaris's weapon and saw that he blocked another torrent of flames, but he was starting to get singed.
"Solaris be ready to attack your sword is coming!" Naruto dropped his blade and with two daggers in his hands flung them at the creature forcing it to use its shield to block the attack. While in mid swing, he threw Solaris's sword into the air.
Solaris caught his sword and with one mighty swing he slashed the creature's head clean off and made it drop to the ground in shock and then disappear into dust.
Naruto collapsed to his knees and sighed before smiling at Solaris who held his hand out.
"That was a glorious battle Naruto! I hope to join you in many more of these glorious moments! Feel free to call upon me as needed!"
Naruto nodded his head,
"If I can figure out how this works I will, and don't you dare not call on me when you need me or want to talk."
The knight nodded his head and soon he disappeared.
Naruto sighed, knowing he will have to figure out how that works later but for now he proceeded into the bell tower, climbing up, and finally seeing the bell he made it ring.
The bell's tolling could be heard throughout the land, and all could hear it ringing loud and proud signaling someone had finally made it to the top.
"Well, that's one down, one more to go. No doubt this next one will be a true test." Naruto sighed before sitting down and just settling on the edge of the tower enjoying the scenery and looking up at the sky,
"Not a bad way to start a fun new adventure huh? Jiji?"
Kurama smiled, Naruto was doing better and thanks to this battle they knew what to expect going forward.
Turning his head, he saw the goddess sitting there with him, having moved out of the forest area and next to him with a comfy sofa made from the mindscape, he could see she was smiling.
"Remember Goddess reveal yourself soon or I will."
"I know." She smiled and soon tears formed down her face, "Truly he is a hero worthy of legend, but I fear, what will become the more he learns of this lands dark history?"
"Time will tell but I will tell you this, if you didn't have direct hand or direct decision on things the kid won't be too mad just don't be obscure about certain things and you'll be fine."
The goddess nodded her head and looked at the fox,
"Is it true that you came from the Elemental Nations, or as we called it the Land beyond the Fog?"
"Yes how we became that way even I don't know but all I know is this, we will be drawn back there sometime in the future whether by the past or by HIM but in the end, I will stick by the kit that was with me through my bullshit and through my turmoil."
"Him?"
"You'll see soon but for now, prepare the kit will want answers soon."

So here is the announcement for all of those that wanted to hear this:
I have gone back on a lot of things, I have failed to keep promises, and more importantly I didn't keep up with the promise I made myself of not abandoning stories. But I should mention this: I have been going back and reviewing all my stories and looking at what I did wrong, what is working, and if I need to really consider just deleting a few chapters or ideas if I'm never going to touch them again.
For those that care I am announcing new chapters for some of my ideas will be coming out again those like:

Born of Death
Gremory of Life (Complicated one this is)
and more, all will be getting updates and/or chapter changes so for those that have waited this long I apologize for taking so long to get this far but I promise I'm going to try and be more proactive but with my work schedule and sometimes with the holidays, it is difficult but I'm going to push forward and try to give you guys what you want.
