1The Return of the Phantom 15: Don Juan Triumphant
A long week had past since that terrible day. There has been no sigh of Erik; no notes, no rose, no lessons, nothing. Has he actually left for good? He was so anger and sad that Chelle had called him a monster, but she didn't mean too. She loves Erik; she always have and always will. She was just angry and sad that day and didn't know what she was saying. But now its too late Erik is gone. "No, he cant be gone. I love him; I need him." Chelle falls to her bed with her face in her pillow, "Erik, please come back. I love you, I need you. I never met to hurt you. Come to me my angel of music!"
Suddenly there is a knock on her door. Chelle gets up and wipe away the tears from her eyes. "Who is it?"
"It's Jeni. Chelle, please let me in. You haven't come out of your for a week. I'm worried about you. Chelle, you are my best friend." Chelle gets up and opens the door to let Jeni in. "Chelle, what's wrong? Why have you locked yourself in here for so long?"
"He's gone; I think he left me for good", Chelle goes on to tell Jeni about the encounter with him and Derrick after Faust, "I think I have made him mad. He must come back; I love him."
"He will come back. He loves you; just like he loved Christine, maybe even more."
"Oh, Jeni you are the bests friend I could ever have," Chelle hugs Jeni as she cries, "I love him, he must come back."
"He will; I know he will. Come on now we have to go to rehearsal we are deciding on the next opera today."
Jeni and Chelle head down to the stage where rehearsal is going to held. As they get closer to the stage they can hear that people are talking about the Phantom of the Opera, the Opera Ghost. Everyone is talking about the night of Faust, "It was the opera ghost; he made it happen."
"No it wasn't. I know who it was", Chelle can recognize the voice as Ellisa, "It was that little brat Chelle she is trying to destroy me."
Chelle enters the stage with Jeni; as she enters everyone turns and glares at her. Only one person does not; that person was Derrick, "It was not Chelle! It was the Opera Ghost I saw him myself. None of it is Chelle's fault."
Monsieur Leroux goes to the middle of the stage to get everyone attention. "Everyone listen to me. It was the Opera Ghost, but he is gone now; there has been no sigh of him for a week. I do not expect to be seeing him again."Suddenly Erik appears at the right side of Monsieur Leroux holding an opera. Everyone is in shock and scared; everyone but Chelle that is, she is overjoyed to see Erik. "Why so silent, good messieurs? Did you think that I had left you for good? Have you missed me good messieurs? I have written you an opera! Here I bring the finished score-Don Juan Triumphant! I advise you to comply-my instructions should be clear-, Remember, there are worse things than a shattered chandelier", he takes the enormous bound manuscript of Don Juan Triumphant and throws it at Monsieur Leroux. Erik then vanishes before everyone's eyes.
Monsieur Leroux turns and starts for his office; everyone follows. Chelle decides to stay behind. "Erik, are you still here. Erik, I love...", but before she can finish the sentence she feels a cold hand upon her shoulder. She turns around and sees Erik; tears build up in her eyes. "I thought you have left me."
"Don't cry my angel. I am here now; I was working on my opera. You must go to Monsieur Leroux's office you have secured the largest role; they must be looking for you."
"Erik, I love you."
"I know", he bends down and kisses Chelle on her forehead; "I will never leave you."
Chelle has indeed secured the largest role in this Don Juan. She had the role Aminta; it was a romantic tragic role. Michel a rich lead tenor has the part of Don Juan. They work for hours on hours everyday on the opera. Michel can never get the notes of his part right. "No here is the phrase", Monsieur Leroux starts to sing, "those who tangle with Don Juan. If you please."
The rehearsal goes on and on like this for what seems like hours. Chelle cannot stand it anymore; she has to get out. She has to go see her teacher; her angel of music. She dismisses herself and heads up to her room. She walks to the mirror and open the secrete passage. She heads down the long dark passage way until she reaches the lake. Erik is there waiting for her, "I have been expecting you."
He takes her hand and helps her into the gondola. He then rows off to his hidden underground house. They finally get to house; Erik helps her out of the gondola and they enter the drawing room. "Tomorrow is the opening my opera."
"Yes, but Michel doesn't do a good Don Juan."
"Don't worry about my dear; I will take care of that."
"Great", Chelle say sarcastically, "What horrors wait for me in this, the Phantoms opera?"
"Don't worry, you need rest now." Erik leads Chelle to the Louis-Philippe room to rest.
