Late at night in Amphibia, a food bin was standing in front of a nearby rock fence that was hiding Anne, Sprig, Dipper, Loggle and Soggy Joe. They popped their heads out of the rock to find the creature.
"Okay, guys. We need to catch whatever's been breaking into our food bins at night." Anne announced.
"Whatever it is, it's big." Dipper said.
"That's what they said…When I got ripped." Loggle said.
Dipper looked at Loggle, surprised and impressed. "Huh, I expected something inappropriate."
"Huh, I wondered when my broken voice box would come back to haunt me." Loggle said.
"If this keeps up, we'll be out of food soon." Sprig said. "Dibs on eating Loggle!"
Loggle chuckled. "You'll have to catch me first!" Loggle ran away. Dipper watched on as the axolotl ran away.
"Hey, did Loggle wish to be a part of this mission?" Dipper asked.
"It's gotta be a critter." Soggy Joe theorised. "With all the destruction of natural resources, the wildlife has been forced to find food from outside the forests."
"Say that last bit five times fast." Sprig said.
"Seriously guys, Loggle is long gone." Dipper said.
Then, Anne placed her hand and foot over Sprig, Dipper and Soggy Joe's mouth. "Shh. Do you guys hear that?" Anne asked.
Then, a wind current blew the four back a bit and then the lid off the food bin. And then, a giant moth or butterfly like creature began to eat the food.
"Look! There it is!" Soggy Joe exclaimed.
"What is it?" Dipper asked.
"I don't know." Sprig replied.
"Does it matter?" Anne responded. "Whatever it is, we're taking it down."
The four jumped from behind the rock. Anne pulled her sword out, Sprig had his slingshot out, Dipper activated his energy sword while Soggy Joe had his fists at the ready.
"Oi! Beastie!" Soggy Joe exclaimed.
The beast shone its red eyes before hissing and then flying away. Dipper quickly threw a small tracking device on its rear. Dipper pulled out a device to track the beast's location and it happened to heading forward.
"It's heading this way." Dipper declared.
"Lead the way!" Anne commanded.
Dipper began to lead the group where the creature was heading which happened to be the woods. They ran deeper into the woods as Dipper followed the creature.
It landed in a cave and the group quickly hid behind a rock so it wouldn't see them. "This must be its lair. Ok. On my cue. One…." Everyone armed themselves. "….two."
The creature turned to reveal itself as a creature with a white cat-like head with rows of pale-yellow teeth and large red eyes.
"Well, bless my bowie knife. It's a coastal kill-a-moth!" Soggy Joe exclaimed.
"DOMINO 2!" Anne exclaimed. "My short time pet?!"
Dipper looked concerned. "I'm sorry, that was your pet?"
"I haven't seen her since she flew off months ago." Anne said. "What should I do? Should I approach her? Should I say hello? Is that too forward?"
"SAY HELLO?!" Sprig exclaimed dramatically. "Anne, that monster tried to eat us! Heck, I would be surprised if she remembers my flavour."
"Don't hold a grudge, Sprig." Anne said.
"Come on Dipper, aren't you gonna zap that thing?!" Sprig asked.
"Well, it is optional." Dipper replied.
"Dude!" Anne exclaimed.
"But seeing as how Anne has a connection with this…amphbious insect, I think we should probably give it some of our food." Dipper suggested.
Anne smiled. "Mr Pines, that is a great idea."
"Guys, get down!" Sprig commanded. The four got down to hide themselves.
They poked their heads out to see two robots and General Yohan approaching the cave. "Get the creature. We'll put it with the rest." He commanded.
The robots tried throwing a net on her, but Domino 2 dodged it and hissed at them before hitting one with her wrings. The other tried again, but Domino 2 only knocked it down with her other wing.
But Yohan jumped on top of her and placed one of his wrist blades against her neck. "If you think about doing what I think you're doing, I will gut you and the rest of your kind. Do I make myself clear?" Domino 2 hissed in anger. "Good girl." Yohan put a net around her and began to carry her away.
Once Yohan was out of earshot, Anne jumped out of the rock. "Domino 2! NO! No." Anne cried. She dropped to her knees speechless while Dipper began to look at the tracking device.
Sprig and Joe both looked relieved about this and cheered. "Woooo!" Joe cheered.
"Whoo! Would you look at that? Problem solved." Sprig said.
"Up top." Joe and Sprig high five each other.
"Come on guys, can't you see Anne is in pain about this?" Dipper asked. "Couldn't you have some sympathy?"
"Yeah but no." Well, let's get a move on." Sprig and Joe began to leave.
Then Anne stood up with a determined look on her face. "I have to save her." Anne declared loud and proud.
"What?!" Joe and Sprig exclaimed simultaneously.
"Domino 2 and I still have a connection." Anne said. "I could feel it."
"Don't worry Anne." Dipper assured her. "The tracking device is still on her. We can find her in no time."
"Thanks Dip." Anne said, feeling relieved and happy that she had a tech genius like him by her side.
But Sprig was less than happy. "Dipper, you have been here for a couple of weeks, you don't know what it's like. And Anne, she's a vicious animal, not your buddy. She's been living in the wild for months now, and…" Then, Anne placed her hand on Sprig's mouth.
"Shh. Do you hear that?"
The group went quiet as they heard the sound of what sounded kittens meowing. "It sounds like kittens." Dipper said.
"Kittens?!" Anne exclaimed before running into the cave and seeing 6 kitten-like larvas. "Domino 2 has kittens?!" The kittens meowed cutely as they began slithering up her legs and then around her arms and shoulders. "Hey, little cuties." Anne said as she let them crawl around her body while Sprig and Joe watched on in discomfort.
Dipper picked one of them up and began to stroke it on the nose with his finger. "These are actually cute." The kitten then sneezed, causing Anne to gush some more.
"Well, that settles it." Anne declared. "We're taking these little babies back to Wartwood."
"What?!" Soggy Joe exclaimed.
"Absolutely not!" Sprig argued. "Also, why are you taking her side Dipper? They're dangerous!"
"I once took care of a baby jaguar." Dipper replied. "Even though they're dangerous, it would have been wrong of me to kill a defenceless animal."
"Well, we can't just leave these defenseless little kittens in the wilderness on their own, it's just until we save their mother." Anne said as she picked up the orange kitten.
"No way! No how! Not in a million years." Sprig argued while he and Joe shook their heads in disapproval.
"You really wanna abandon these helpless, adorable babies in the wild?" Dipper picked up three of the kittens as shoved them in Sprig and Joe's face while Anne did the same. And in an instant, the two were smitten.
Whilst Joe was smitten, Sprig was doing his best to resist the cuteness. "No. Not this time. Must resist!"
"I don't think I've ever seen eyes this big before." Joe said.
"Come on Sprig." Dipper said, tempting the frog. "Joe seems to like them."
"Never!" Sprig exclaimed, trying to resist the urge.
The kittens began to give Sprig some begging eyes, Anne began to cry whilst Dipper made puppy eyes. "Come on Sprig. You know you can't resist."
Sprig did everything he could to resist the cuteness. His sweat was starting to overcome him as he clenched his fists. But he couldn't resist it any longer. "Gah! Fine! But I have a feeling the rest of the camp isn't going to like it.
Anne blew a raspberry. "Don't be so dramatic. They're gonna love it."
"Pacifica especially." Dipper said.
A few minutes later, they returned to the Plantar farm with the kittens and everyone in the town appeared to have had the same reaction. "You did what?!" They all exclaimed.
"What even are those things?" Sasha asked.
"They're kind of adorable." Pacifica remarked.
"Adorable?!" Exclaimed a disappointed Hop Pop. "They're monsters. They're cute as they can be when they're babies and when they're adults, they'll eat us all for breakfast!"
"I lost my Uncle Magnus to one of those things." Beatrix said. "Me and Grime found his bones in a giant pellet."
Polly then walked on Beatrix's head. "Read the room, man. This is a hard no."
"Guys, I get your concern, but their mother is Domino 2." Anne said.
"Who?" Hunter, now wearing an Orange Hawaiian shirt, grey shorts and purple crocs asked. "You can't just say a name and expect us to get it."
"She was my precious baby!" Anne replied dramatically. "And she's been captured by General Yohan. All you gotta do is watch these kittens for a couple of hours." Anne picked up one of the kittens but they all looked unconvinced.
"Come on guys." Sprig pleaded. "Anne has done so much for all of you. Can't you just do this one thing."
The frogs, Sasha, Pacifica and Hunter were at first hesitant. But they then gave in. "Uh, fine!" Croaker exclaimed. "But you better hurry, young lady. Because we're going to leave them with the dumbest people who'd actually be willing to keep an eye on them."
"Croaker, I doubt there's anyone dumb enough here to take care of these beasts." Poly said.
Then, Luz and Amity exited the farm. "What's going on out here?" Luz asked.
"And what's it about taking care of…." Amity and Luz's eyes instantly lit up when they saw the kittens.
Luz gasped and instantly snatched one out of Joe's hands. "Ah que lindo!" She began to snuggle the purple one. "Ooooh, Anne these are so cute!" The kitten began to lick Luz on her face whilst a couple more began to crawl around her. "Awww! You know I'm a cat person don't ya?"
Amity held the other three in her arms, snuggling them. "Oh, I wish I could keep you! Because you are the cutest!" Amity's sentence made Ghost narrow their eyes at their owner before walking away with jealousy on their face.
Everyone watched the girlfriends snuggling and cuddling the kittens with perplexed expressions. Till they all shrugged their shoulders.
"Eh, they're dumb enough." Croaker declared.
"Okay you two, don't take long." Hop Pop requested. "Who knows how long those two will last before they are shredded to bits?"
"Let's get a move on!" Wally declared whilst he and Felicia pushed the two girlfriends.
Once they left, Anne turned to Dipper. "Okay Dip, where is Domino 2?"
Dipper looked at the holographic map on his tracking device watch which showed him where Domino 2 was. "Somewhere in the mountains." Dipper replied.
"Okay Dipper, lead the way." Anne said.
Anne and a skeptical Sprig began to follow Dipper while Anne was adjusting her sword. "I still think this is a bad idea." Sprig said. "What if after we save her she tears us to shreds?!"
Anne sighed. "Domino 2 would never hurt me. I just know. I feel it in my heart."
"Dipper?" Sprig asked.
"Sprig, I've been in Amphibia for two weeks, Anne has been here longer." Dipper replied. "But then again, you have been here longer than Anne but, I trust Anne."
"All right." Sprig sighed before jumping on Anne's shoulder. "Count me in!"
"Thanks dude." Anne said. "Appreciate the help."
"I mean, someone's gotta watch your back when this goes horribly wrong." Sprig said.
"We really need to work on your pep talks." Anne said.
"But seriously Dipper, why aren't you skeptical about this?" Sprig asked.
"My skeptic senses just aren't tingling." Dipper said.
About twenty minutes later, Dipper, Anne and Sprig had arrived to one of Andrias' robot bases that was set next to giant cage with a bunch of other coastal-kill-a-moths.
The three were hiding behind a rock while Anne looked at what was going on through a telescope. "Take a look. One of Andrias' robot bases." She handed Sprig the telescope which he began to look through.
Through it, he saw more costal-kill-a-moths tied to some kind of long pole buried in the ground. They all wore the mind controlled collars that a lot of the wildlife of Amphibia had been wearing. Whilst being whipped by General Yohan.
"Move faster!" Yohan commanded. "Move faster! Perhaps a lightbulb would be more sufficient."
Sprig handed Dipper the telescope who began to look at what they were doing. It appears the thing they were doing was powering something. He follows the pipe which lead to the base that was glowing light blue.
"They appear to be powering that base." Dipper said. "And take a closer look, they have those mind control collars on."
Back in the cage, Yohan was whipping the moths until he heard the sound of a bell chiming. "Okay, I think that's enough for today." He declared before the moths hovered down and began to rest. He left the mammal-like insect to their own devices and entered the base.
Once Yohan was out of sight, Anne leaned into Sprig and Dipper. "Okay, here's the plan: We'll wait for the moths to sleep and then we sneak in and free my precious baby. And Dipper, are you willing to distract Yohan if he begins to notice the moths going crazy."
Dipper grinned. "Believe me, I will."
"Anne, there are dozens of moths." Sprig pointed out while Dipper looked at his tracking device. "How do we know which one is…"
"She's over there." Dipper said to Sprig as he handed him the telescope. "I did place a tracking beacon on her, remember?" The young frog looked and saw Domino 2 licking her paw.
"Oh." Sprig responded.
"Come on, let's motor." Anne said as she stood up with the others.
"So, why did you think a carnivorous beast made a good pet?" Dipper asked Anne.
"Now you ask?!" Sprig exclaimed.
A few minutes later, the three arrived at the cage to sneak in. They managed to fit through the bars passed the snoring beasts.
While Anne and Dipper did the sneaking effortlessly, Sprig was nervously treading over their paws, almost touching them at some points. He then froze when he felt one of the moths sniffing him. Then, it grabbed the young frog into his paws, causing Sprig to be trapped.
The pink frog struggled to free himself for a few seconds until he finally did, the sweat still escaping him.
He eventually caught up to Anne and Dipper who briefly stopped. "Okay, you go towards that door. Yohan could pop out."
"Got it." Dipper whispered back before moving the door that lead to the inside of the base.
Sprig got closer until Anne motioned him to stop. "Wait here." She commanded quietly. She then moved towards Domino 2 and tried to pull the collar off. "Come on, stupid thing."
But Anne must have pulled a little hard because Domino 2 suddenly woke up. Anne noticed this as well and Sprig froze. "Oooooooh crap." Sprig responded.
The moth roared, causing Anne to fall on her rear as she stared at her precious baby in fear. Then, Sprig ran in front of the moth to defend Anne. "Stop right there!" It then casually knocked Sprig to the right as it began to stare at Anne like it was food.
Dipper noticed that Anne was in danger and tried to do something about it. He quickly began running as he pulled out his blaster.
But then, Yohan suddenly popped out from the under the ground and uppercutted him in his chin, causing him to be disarmed and some blood to fly out while he flew about 7 feet into the air before landing on his rear.
Yohan chuckled as he activated his wrist blades. "You think I wouldn't notice the tracking device?"
Dipper wiped the blood off his lips. "I was honestly hoping you'd be a no-show." He jumped up and pulled out his energy sword.
"Of course, our third battle." Yohan remarked.
Dipper spun his sword. "Surprised you kept track."
"You know what they say, third time's the charm." Yohan charged towards Dipper where they once again began their duel.
Meanwhile, Domino 2 was busy eyeing Anne, ready to eat her.
Anne had her hands raised in an attempt to try and calm her down. "Easy girl."
"Anne, look out! Run!" Sprig cried.
"No!" Anne replied as she charged Domino 2 charging towards her. "I can't leave her!"
The moth tried to eat her again but the co commander quickly jumped on the moth and pulled her sword out. She dug her sword through the collar and managed to pull it off but Domino 2 also threw her off.
Despite currently duelling, Yohan did manage to see Anne freeing Domino 2 and pulled a panicked look. "No."
Dipper quickly kicked him backwards and then tried to stab him until Yohan deflected the blade. The two continued their duel for a bit until Yohan tossed Dipper aside. He tried running towards Anne, but Dipper quickly noticed the whip from Yohan's back and managed to grab the tip with his finger and thumb. He pulled the whip that was hanging from his back and quickly grappled it around his ankle before pulling him to the ground.
Yohan jumped back up where Dipper was about to whip him again. But then, Yohan used his wrist as the grappling point before disarming Dipper.
Then, he tried whipping Dipper but the author quickly sliced the whip with his laser sword. Yohan stared at his destroyed weapon before tossing it aside and charging towards Dipper.
Anne, having landed on her back, rubbed her head as she stared at Domino 2, who shook her head after having that collar on for an unknown amount of time. It then began to stare at Anne with interest.
"Anne, get away!" Screamed a terrified Sprig.
"No!" Anne argued. "She'll remember me. I know it! Come on girl." Domino 2 roared as it began to run towards Anne with murderous intent. "Or maybe I'm wrong!" Anne covered her eyes as she prepared for the worst.
Dipper noticed this and pulled out his blaster to try and stun the moth. But then, Yohan grabbed Dipper by the back of his collar and slammed him to the ground.
"No, I wanna see what happens." Yohan said.
But instead of blood and guts everywhere, Domino 2 began to give Anne loving licks to her face and giving love bites to her head. "Ow!" Anne, despite feeling the pain, laughed at Domino 2's affection.
Dipper, Sprig and Yohan were all surprised by what they were seeing. "I don't believe this!" Sprig exclaimed. "She does remember you!"
"I don't believe this!" Yohan exclaimed. "Prey to a coastal-kill-a-moth is being given affection?!"
Dipper stood up and deactivated his energy sword. "Surprising what this girl can do, isn't it?"
"Yeah!" Sprig agreed. "Big win for blind faith."
"Well, she'll be blind once I'm done with her!" Yohan exclaimed. "And gutted."
Domino 2 hissed at Yohan before charging towards him. Yohan got into defence position to try and take down the beast. Dipper knew that Yohan would probably win if he didn't interfere, so he stood on Yohan's tail.
Yohan looked over his shoulder. "Hey, watch the tail."
Domino 2 grabbed Yohan by her mouth and then threw him out of the cage and off the cliff. He screamed as he prepared for the impact of the height.
Dipper grinned at Domino 2 who began to give the human some affection by rubbing her head against him. "Awww! Aren't you loveable predator?" Dipper began to stroke Domino 2. He then noticed something in her mane and gently picked it up. It was some kind of purple squeaky mouse. "Huh, what's this?"
Anne gasped with tears falling down her face. She took the toy from the man and smiled at her pet. "Domino 2, you never forgotten me! It's the…."
"I don't need another specific backstory." Dipper assured her. "I kind of figured it out."
Domino 2 then laid on her back, requesting belly rubs from her owner. "Who's a good girl? Who's a good girl?" Anne asked as she rubbed Domino 2's belly while the moth purred.
Sprig wiped away some tears cause even he can admit, this reunion was making him emotional. "Wow! This is the most amazing thing I've ever…" Before Sprig could finish, he heard a very hungry growl. "I'm about to be eaten aren't I?" Then Sprig was eaten by an orange one.
Then, all the mind controlled coastal-kill-a-moths began to fly around in circles, which was powering the base.
"Sprig, hang on buddy!" Anne cried.
"Don't worry Anne, I…" Before Dipper could finish, he was eaten alive by another one.
"And hang on Mr Pines!" Anne yelled.
The co commander of the resistance knew the only way to save her friends was to try and fly Domino 2. She got on her precious baby and began to look for a way to fly her. "Okay, how do I do this? Domino 2, up, up and…" Before she could finish, Domino 2 began to fly upwards. The unexpected altitude caused her to almost fall off of Domino 2. She hanged off of its tail. "Woah! Woah! Woah! No! No!"
Then, the moth accidentally threw Anne off of her. The co commander tried to reach for the bars to hold on. "Ah nuts!" She began to fall until she landed on Domino 2 and got to where the head was.
She decided to pull her head upwards which caused to fly in an upwards motion. "Wa hoo!" Anne cried, having gotten control of her pet at last. She began to fly around the cage while screaming with excitement and terror.
She accidentally crashed into the kill-a-moth that ate Sprig, causing it to spit him out and fly towards the one that ate Dipper, causing it to spit him out.
The two, now covered in drool, screamed as they began to fall to their supposed deaths. But thankfully, Anne flew in on Domino 2 and caught them in the Nick of time.
"Gotcha!" Anne exclaimed. "Let's get out of here."
"Sprig, I now know why you hate them." Dipper said.
"Thank you." Sprig said weakly.
Anne flew Domino 2 around the cage a bit and hit the lever that opened the cage door. When they got out however, Domino 2 suddenly stopped with a sad look plastered on her face that Anne didn't ignore.
"What's wrong girl?" Anne asked with concern. She got her response when Domino 2 began to look back at the other kill-a-moths still stuck to that machine. "You're right. We can't just leave them here."
"I mean, we could." Sprig suggested.
"I agree, could." Dipper said.
"You two!" Anne said.
"Okay, fine." Dipper and Sprig said simultaneously.
Then, Anne began to fly Domino 2 around the cage and around all the kill-a-moths. During the 360 detour, Dipper began to shoot the collars off whilst Sprig used his tongue. While Anne sliced all the ropes with her sword with smooth swifts.
They stopped to stare at the freed insect mammals with some very pleased smiles on their faces. "Looks like we did it." Anne said before Sprig was snatched by one of them. "Sprig!"
Sprig screamed in terror as he prepared the worst of being someone's food. Then, another one of the moths snatched Sprig out of their mouth. And then another did the same thing. And then another. And then another.
After a few snatches, all the moths were throwing him about for a bit until another one of the moths began to carrying him around his ankle.
"There is definitely not enough of me to go around!" Sprig exclaimed.
"Sprig, no!" Anne cried in fear and worry.
"Anne, I'm shooting them down!" Dipper declared.
Domino 2 looked to her owner and saw how scared she looked for her best friend. It pulled a reluctant look before making a loud and powerful roar that made all the moths, that were just about to tear Sprig apart, stop.
The one that snatched Sprig carried him towards Domino 2 who held out her paws and placed him gently on them. The frog looked injured as Dipper picked him up and placed him gently on his lap.
"Thanks." Sprig said. "Why did they listen to her?"
It was at this moment, Anne and Dipper realised why they listen to her. "No way!" Anne exclaimed.
"She's not just any coastal-kill-a-moth, she's the alpha moth." Dipper replied.
Sprig then realised something else big. "So, if we've tamed Domino 2…"
"We've tamed every last one." Anne said. "Alright everyone, follow me!" She flew Domino 2 out the cage while the other kill-a-moths followed behind.
"So, how do you think the others have handled the kittens?" Dipper asked.
"Eh, not to be blunt, but Luz and Amity could be corpses." Sprig said.
"Sprig!" Anne exclaimed.
"What?!" Sprig responded. "They could be dead! We don't know! I mean, it's gonna take a lot of convincing to convince me that they're okay."
