Escape
There was no way out.
Amid scattered flashes of light, a child cried out, I'm frightened. What happens now?
A steady voice spoke out from the dark. Fear not for I am with you.
It's cold. My light is fading.
Fear not for you are with me, it whispered.
But what of--
I am here, it vowed.
What are you?
I am everything.
That's impossible, you can't be everything. The boy felt a tingle down his spine.
I am. From the smallest atom to the largest star, I am.
Are you me, as well?
We are one.
I'm tired. The world went numb, and even the flashing lights faded from the boy's view.
Sleep. And be forever in my embrace.
The child obeyed the voice, leaving behind only the shell of a boy on the gleaming marble floor of the Jedi Temple, smoke rising from the cauterized hole branding his chest.
