Meeting Koraidon

Lincoln and Nemona went down the path to find the source of the cry that they heard.

"Where do you think that cry came from?" asked Lincoln.

"I don't know." said Nemona.

"Let's split up. We can cover more ground that way." suggested Lincoln.

"Good idea, Lincoln. I'll look around the lighthouse." said Nemona as she ran up ahead. Lincoln looked along the cliff next to the path. As Lincoln investigated, he saw a broken part of the path's guardrail. Seeing a ledge big enough for him to walk on, he walks along it until he got to the end of it. He looked down onto a small beach and spots a red, quadraped, reptilian Pokemon with purple, pink, and white plumes on its head and rear. In front of it were two black dog-like Pokemon with white bands around their ankles and rib-like ridges along their backs, along with a skull-shaped marking on their foreheads. The two dog Pokemon were barking at the red one with aggression. The red one lifts its head up and roars at the two dog Pokemon so loudly it shook up the area, including the ledge that Lincoln was standing on. The shaking was so strong it caused the part of the ledge that Lincoln was standing on to break off and he falls towards the ground. Fortunately, he had his Rotom Phone with him, which he grabs onto and has it lower him gently down to the beach.

"Wow. My Rotom Phone really comes in handy." says Lincoln. He looks to see the two dog Pokemon that were there running away from the red one in fear. But before they left, Lincoln took the time to point his Rotom Phone at them to see what they are.

"Houndour, the Dark Pokemon. It is smart enough to hunt in packs. It uses a variety of cries for communicating with others." said the Rotom Phone. Lincoln looks back at the red Pokemon and runs over to it. He saw that it looked weakened.

"Oh man. You look like you need something to perk you up." Lincoln said to the Pokemon with a look of pity in his face. Remembering the extra sandwich in his backpack, he takes the sandwich out of it and holds it out to the Pokemon. The Pokemon lifts its head and looks at the sandwich, then at Lincoln. "Go on, you need this more than I do anyway." The Pokemon sniffs the sandwich and eats it in one bite. The Pokemon lets out a roar, surprising Lincoln and he smiles at it, relieved the Pokemon was okay. The Pokemon looks past Lincoln, who looks over his shoulder and saw it was looking at a cave that the two Houndours ran into. The Pokemon walked past Lincoln and towards the cave. The Pokemon stops and begins to glow. It then leaps into the air and lets out a bright flash of light. As it does, Lincoln sees four orbs of light being released from its body and fly north. The Pokemon's plumes also grow a bit longer, it stood on its hind legs, its front legs became arms, and it looked completely revitalized. Lincoln could only stand and watch in amazement at the Pokemon. "This is so cool." The Pokemon lands on the ground and lets out a roar. It then looks over at Lincoln then walks into the cave. "I guess I might as well go into the cave too. It might lead up to that cave opening I saw near the lighthouse. Plus it's better than just standing around here waiting." Lincoln then runs into the cave after the mysterious Pokemon. Once inside, he sees the Pokemon walking down a tunnel. Lincoln follows after it not knowing what else to do. If the cave was as unsafe as Nemona had mentioned before, Lincoln thought it would be best if he stayed near the Pokemon, just in case. As they went through the tunnel, they soon entered a grotto that had some glowing green leaves growing out of the wall.

"Oyeee! Lincoln!" Nemona's voice yells out. Lincoln looks around and then up to see Nemona standing near a cave opening that was further up. "There you are, Lincoln! Are you okay? You're not hurt, are you?"

"I'm fine. My Rotom Phone slowed my fall down and the sand on the beach I landed on was soft." said Lincoln.

"That's good to hear. I was worried for a minute there." said Nemona. Lincoln looked around for a way to get up to where Nemona is.

"I don't see a way to get up to where you are. I'm gonna go in further and see if I can find something." said Lincoln.

"Okay. Just be..." Nemona started to say before she saw the Pokemon that Lincoln was following. "WHAT IS THAT?!" Lincoln looks over at the Pokemon.

"I think that's what made that cry we heard." said Lincoln.

"I never seen a Pokemon like that before. It looks super strong." said Nemona.

"Anyway, I'm gonna follow it and see if it finds a way out of this cave. I'll also keep an eye out for a way out too." said Lincoln.

"Okay. I'll try looking around for a way from up here. Be careful." said Nemona.

"I will." said Lincoln. Lincoln then continues to follow the Pokemon through the grotto. It soon came to a boulder that was blocking their path. "What do we do now?" The Pokemon suddenly swings its arm at the boulder, completely destroying it. Lincoln was amazed by its power, as was Nemona.

"Wow! That was amazing!" Nemona yells out. "It may be as strong as my Pokemon; maybe even stronger."

"I know. I'm gonna keep going." said Lincoln. He continues to follow the Pokemon through the grotto. They soon came to an area that had some wild Pokemon in it. He saw a brown weasel-like Pokemon with a tan line of fur going along its back, along with some sharp-looking teeth. Lincoln pulls out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.

Yungoos, the Loitering Pokemon. Its stomach fills most of its torso. It wanders the same path every day, searching for fresh food." said the Rotom Phone.

"Well as long as its here, I might as well try and capture it." said Lincoln. He then pulls out Pawmi's pokeball and releases him from it. "You ready, Pawmi?" Pawmi looks over at Lincoln and nods. "Okay, Pawmi. Use Thunder Shock." Pawmi then releases a jolt of electricity which hits Yungoos, doing damage. The Yungoos charges at Pawmi and rams into him. Yellow electricity suddenly surrounds Yungoos. "Looks like your Static ability has taken effect on Yungoos, Pawmi. It's paralyzed. Now use Quick Attack." Pawmi charges at Yungoos with incredible speed and rams into it, knocking it to the ground. Lincoln quickly takes out an empty pokeball out of his backpack, enlarges it, and throws it at the Yungoos. It hits the Yungoos and it gets sucked into the pokeball which falls to the ground and wiggles around for a couple of seconds until it stops and clicks. "Great work, Pawmi." Pawmi smiles and nods in response. Yungoos' pokeball glows and vanishes due to Lincoln already having six Pokemon with him. Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone and looks up his new Yungoos. "Okay, Yungoos is female, she knows Tackle and Leer, and she has the Strong Jaw ability, which powers up her attacks that involves biting." Pawmi begins sniffing the ground. "What is it, Pawmi?" asked Lincoln. He got his answer when a tiny, brown Pokemon pops up from the ground. Lincoln points his Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.

"Diglett, the Mole Pokemon. It lives about one yard underground, where it feeds on plant roots. It sometimes appears aboveground." said the Rotom Phone.

"You want to help me capture this Pokemon, Pawmi?" asked Lincoln. Pawmi nods. "Okay, since Diglett is a ground type, Thundershock will not work on it, so start things off with Quick Attack." Pawmi quickly charges at Diglett and rams it. Diglett spins around and sends sand flying onto Pawmi's eyes. "I think that was Sand Attack. Quick, Pawmi. Use Scratch." Pawmi leaps at Diglett and scratches it across the face. Lincoln takes out another empty pokeball and throws it at the Diglett. It gets sucked into the pokeball and it wiggles around and clicks. "Awesome job, Pawmi." Diglett's pokeball vanishes. Lincoln looks up his new Diglett and learned Diglett is male, it knows Scratch and Sand Attack, and it has the Arena Trap ability, which prevents an opposing Pokemon from running away. As Lincoln looks around the area, he hears growling coming from a high ledge near him. He backs up from it to see what was making the growling sound and he gets his answer when he sees a big, black, dog-like Pokemon that looked like Houndour, but it was taller, its snout was longer, and instead of having a skull-shaped marking on its head, it has two long, curved horns coming out of it. It also had a devil-like tail as well. Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.

"Houndoom, the Dark Pokemon, and the evolved form of Houndour. If you are burned by the flames that shoot from its mouth, the pain will never go away." said the Rotom Phone.

"I think this Pokemon might be too strong for us to handle, Pawmi. Let's just leave it alone and just focus on finding a way out of here." said Lincoln. Pawmi nods in agreement. Lincoln returns Pawmi to his pokeball and continues to go down the tunnel after the mysterious Pokemon. Lincoln and the mysterious Pokemon go further down the tunnel with the Pokemon smashing any rocks in their way. As they continued, they were suddenly confronted by a pack of Houndours who stand in front of them and started barking aggressively. But a quick roar from the mysterious Pokemon sends them running. After the Houndours left, Lincoln and the mysterious Pokemon continued down the tunnel. A few minutes later, Lincoln hears Nemona calling out to him.

"Lincoln! There's something coming from behind you!" said Nemona. Lincoln turns and was surprised to see the Houndoom he saw before coming towards him.

"Uh oh. Those Houndours you scared away must've been a part of this guy's pack. It must want payback from when you scared them off." said Lincoln. The Houndoom roars at Lincoln. Suddenly, Fuecoco comes out of his pokeball and stands between Lincoln and the Houndoom. "Fuecoco. This Pokemon is too strong for you to handle right now! You need to get away from it!" But Fuecoco just looks back at Lincoln with a look of determination on his face. Lincoln realizes that Fuecoco wants to protect him from the Houndoom. Not seeing any other options or an escape route, Lincoln stands ready to battle. "Okay, Fuecoco. I don't know if we have any sort of chance against this Houndoom, but we should at least try." Fuecoco nods in response. All of a sudden, the Houndoom lets out a loud roar that forces Fuecoco back into his pokeball. "That must've been its Roar attack." The mysterious Pokemon, hearing the Houndoom's roar turns around and sees it moving towards Lincoln. The Pokemon thinks for a second before deciding to help Lincoln. It jumps in front of the Houndoom and swings its tail at it, knocking it back. The mysterious Pokemon lets out a roar, and the Houndoom roars in response, summoning the pack of Houndours from before. The Houndours surround Lincoln and the mysterious Pokemon and start barking and snapping their jaws at them. The mysterious Pokemon was about to fight the Houndours surrounding him, but looks back at Lincoln and sees him also surrounded by Houndours. Deciding that helping Lincoln was more important, it jumps over to him and picks him up.

"Heeeeeey! Up here! Hurry!" Nemona calls out from the cave opening she was at. The mysterious Pokemon sees her waving her arms to get its attention. Realizing she was guiding them to a way out, he leaps up to where Nemona was. Once at the cave opening, the mysterious Pokemon sets Lincoln down and Nemona runs over to them. "Way to go, you two. For a second there, I thought you two were goners!"

"Yeah. That was way too close." said Lincoln. He then looks over at the mysterious Pokemon. "Thank you for saving me." The Pokemon nods in response. After that, the three of them exit the cave. As the mysterious Pokemon continued to walk, it suddenly glowed and collapsed.

"Whoa! What's wrong?" asked Nemona. When the glowing stopped, it was back to the way it was when Lincoln found it.

"I think it's exhausted. It must've used up all the energy from the sandwich I gave it." said Lincoln.

"But it looks different now. What's up?" asked Nemona.

"This is what it looked like when I first saw it on the beach. This must be what it looks like when it's low on energy." said Lincoln.

"Anyway, I'm glad you're in one piece, Lincoln." said Nemona.

"That makes two of us." said Lincoln. Suddenly, the mysterious Pokemon stood up and roared a little.

"Looks like it got some of its energy back." said Nemona.

"Yeah. So what do we do with it?" asked Lincoln.

"I don't know." said Lincoln. "Should we bring it with us?"

"Maybe. We should bring it back to the Naranja Academy. Maybe Professor Sada would know something about it." suggested Nemona.

"Yeah. Good thing she's there right now. She usually spends her time at her lab in that crater that's north of Mesagoza." said Lincoln.

"Yeah, Area Zero. That place makes me nervous. I get a weird feeling whenever I look at it." said Nemona.

"Anyway, let's go somewhere we can rest up for a bit before going back to Naranja Academy." said Lincoln.

"Good idea, Lincoln. Let's go to the lighthouse." suggested Nemona.

"Yeah, that should be safe enough." said Lincoln. He, Nemona, and the mysterious Pokemon started walking towards the lighthouse. When they got close, they see Arven was there, looking like he was trying to find something.

"Where could he be?" Arven asked himself.

"Hey, Arven!" said Nemona. Arven turns around in response.

"Hey, Nemona and Lincoln. What brings you two out..." Arven started to say. But his sentence was cut short when he saw the mysterious Pokemon standing next to Lincoln and Nemona. He runs over to the mysterious Pokemon. "Koraidon! There you are!"

"Koraidon? Is that what this Pokemon is called?" asked Lincoln.

"Yeah. My mom gave him to me to look after while she's working." said Arven.

"Your mom?" replied Lincoln.

"Professor Sada." says Arven, surprising Lincoln.

"You didn't mention that Professor Sada is your mother." said Lincoln.

"Yeah. I guess I didn't think to point that out before." said Arven. Fortunately for Lincoln, he got over his little crush on Professor Sada a while back, so knowing that Professor Sada is Arven's mom and most likely married didn't bother him.

"So what was Koraidon doing with you?" asked Arven. Lincoln and Nemona told Arven everything that happened in Inlet Grotto.

"You should've seen Koraidon in action against those Houndours and Houndoom. It was super-strong, but it looked different at the time." said Nemona.

"The form you saw Koraidon in is its true form. Koraidon's current form is when he's low on energy." explained Arven.

"So what are you going to do with Koraidon?" asked Lincoln. Arven thinks for a minute before he takes a pokeball out of his vest pocket and hands it to Lincoln.

"Take this. It's Koraidon's pokeball." said Arven.

"Why are you giving it to me?" asked Lincoln.

"Seeing how Koraidon saved you without being told you, I think he'd prefer to be with you. So it'd probably be best if you looked after him." said Arven.

"I don't see why not. Thanks, Arven." said Lincoln.

"Wow, Lincoln! That is so awesome!" said Nemona.

"Make sure to take good care of Koraidon. He's a one-of-a-kind Pokemon." said Arven. Lincoln hears approaching footsteps and sees a surprising sight.

"Ummm. Are you sure about that?" asked Lincoln as he pointed to his left. Nemona and Arven look to where Lincoln was pointing and was stunned when they see Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny walking towards them with a Koraidon following each of them.

"What!?" exclaimed Arven. He, Lincoln, and Nemona ran over to Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny were. "Where did you guys find these Koraidons?!"

"Koraidon? Is that what these Pokemon are called?" asked Cartman.

"Yeah." replied Arven.

"We were in the South Province catching Kenny his first Pokemon when these four glowing balls of light came out from the south, landed in front of us, and changed into these guys." explained Stan.

"Balls of light from the south?" replied Lincoln. He looks back to the south and saw that it was pretty close to the beach he found Koraidon.

"What's up, dude?" asked Kyle.

"After I gave this Koraidon a sandwich on the beach I found him, he glowed for a while before he changed to his true form. While he was glowing, I saw four balls of light shoot out of him and flew north. Maybe the balls of light your Koraidons came from were from the one I found." explained Lincoln. Arven started to wobble a little bit.

"I think I need to sit down." said Arven before he sat on the ground.

"I think this day just got a little more interesting." said Lincoln.
